Buddy's Pizza

Ordered a pizza off DoorDash but they forgot to cut it. Was suppose to be 4 slices. First time trying heard good things. Would have liked more sauce. Pizza not being cut really threw me off. Cost over $20.

Most people know Buddy’s as the gold standard of Detroit style pizza. Tonight I ventured away from the norm and ordered a smash burger and it was AMAZING! I like things a little spicy so I got the Spicy Guac Smash Stack. It came with a side of crispy seasoned thin fries. Next time you are at Buddy’s and want to try something tasty and new, give it a go!

Recently visited Buddy’s Pizza with friends and loved their authentic Detroit-style pies served in a spacious, comfortable dining area. Our server, Kai, did an outstanding job. I’m officially a big fan and can’t wait to come back.

I was being treated to dinner and my hosts ordered Buddy's pizza through Buddy's website for delivery. They were told food would be 30 to 40 minutes away and they were good with this as they had set up a dinner video chat with another party for an hour from ordering time. Buddy's used Door Dash for delivery and it was almost 2 hours before cold food was delivered. In the interim my hosts were incredibly embarrassed as the other party's food was ready at the designated time (which should have been ample time for our meal to arrive). My hosts contacted Buddy's after 1 hour and 45 minutes to complain and find out where the food was. Buddy's copped an attitude with them and told them to contact Door Dash! My hosts had nothing to do with Door Dash - so why should they contact Door Dash - that was Buddy's problem. Dinner plans were ruined and my hosts ended up having to insist Buddy's make the order again for pickup since we still had not eaten. I felt embarrassed for my hosts and could not believe a business would treat a customer like this. Dinner was ruined and my hosts were stressed out by the time they picked up the food. The treatment by Buddy's was abhorrent in my opinion and I would certainly not be ordering food for delivery from this establishment. They do not deliver.

Best Pizza Ever!! Now have been to 13 different locations!! Never been to this one cuz I have gone to the one on Hall, Van Dyke and the original in Hamtramck!! Then a whole bunch others!! Hawaiians are awesome!! Love the buddy bread!! Antipasto is great!! Deep Dish!!

We had an amazing experience at Buddy’s! From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcomed by the staff. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service made us feel right at home. The highlight was definitely the Spicy Italian pizza — perfectly cooked, loaded with flavor, and absolutely delicious. Easily one of the best pizzas we’ve had in a while. Highly recommend Buddy’s for anyone looking for great food and a welcoming vibe. We’ll definitely be back!

Excellent pizzas. The detroit cheese bread were bit salty but everything else was very tasty. They do have alcohol available. In pizzas we ordered greektown and eastern market which are fully vegetarian and both had a unique taste.

Came here after being ignored at twin peaks after being seated. Food was decent and service was amazing. Wife needed gluten free. She said the gf crust great. Payton was our waitress. She was amazing. Always checking on us and making sure we didn't need anything and how the food was.

We were in Auburn Hills for a car rally and discovered our friends had never had Detroit style pizza. We took them to Buddy's and they were blown away! In fact, they wanted to go twice in the four days we were there! We got the Henry Ford - our favorite! Service was great, and the ambiance is fun.

You can never go wrong with Buddy's! We were staying in area for a wedding and popped in for some pizza and a beer! Service at the bar counter was friendly prompt! The pizza was hot and delish like always. Inside was decorated for fall/halloween made for a nice afternoon lunch!

The place had a weird smell and there were bees/insects, one of which entered the beer. When we complained about it, the waitress replaced it with a different beer. The pizzas are pretty ok, but so did enjoy the Mediterranean pizza: it has beetroot which tastes better than I expect in a pizza. The starters were pretty oily, but the non vegetarians said that the wings with the hot sauce was good. It was okayish for a fast food chain.

The spaghetti is really good. The service is pretty good. The food is really good Detroit style pizza that they have is really good. Also, a lot of the other food is pretty good. Did you have some cool chandeliers and the tables are pretty cool the only thing I do not like is how expensive the food is.

Went there on a Saturday evening and it was a really nice atmosphere inside, was very busy, had TVs and the bar was nice. Our waitress was very friendly and fast on orders. We got an app of the fried veggies and they were pretty good. For the mains our whole group got pizzas, I got the 8 piece Hawaiian pizza. It was really good, I really liked the crust of it. 8 piece was about $25, could easily split it between 2 people. Overall solid pizza place.

Great pizza from Buddy's as always! Came here with some friends on a Saturday night and it was quite busy, but we got a table right away. Ordered the Margherita Pizza (a personal favorite of mine here) and the infamous Buddy Bread with ranch. Both so yummy! I love a Detroit pizza, so expect me back at a Buddy's location soon.

Probably the Best Buddys pizza that I have tried. Salads are nice and fresh. Pizza is what you expect in Detroit style but I also like the thin crust. Nice secluded bar area.

Lasagna was overcooked on the bottom and noodles throughout were not cooked enough. Bread sticks very heavy and doughy.

This review Is specifically for carry out gluten free pizza. It was OK quite underwhelming I would say on par with Jets gluten free pizza. There is much better GF pizza out there. Also they left off the pepperoni which didn't help the flavor.

the food was pretty good but I wouldn't rush to go back. they're a little pricey for the quality. it's a family aesthetic inside! ok service.

My sister in law said this is her favorite pizza joint in the area so we had to try it while we were in town. I have to admit, it was pretty good. We got a Detroit style pizza, Mac n cheese for our son, and spaghetti for our daughter. Both kids said their meals were pretty good. The pizza was also really great. The toppings were a little sparse...I would have liked to have seen a little more on there as there were some completely blank spots with just sauce, but overall it was quite nice.

A Detroit Icon Derailed! I can't believe I'm writing this, but Buddy's--the Buddy's--just isn't Buddy's anymore. Under new ownership, they've taken a beloved Detroit institution and turned it into something barely recognizable. The legendary deep-dish pizza? Now barely 3/8 of an inch thick. It's like they traded tradition for a shortcut. I've been eating Buddy's for over 50 years. It used to be a must-have, a proud symbol of Detroit's food scene. Now? It's just... meh. Did the new owners learn nothing from the "New Coke" debacle? Heartbreaking to say it, but what was once great is now barely OK. Not worth the trip anymore.

the food and service were both great!! enjoyed the meat deluxe pizza, it came out hot and hearty.

As always, Buddy's Pizza is fantastic! I wanted to give a "shout out" to Mike the manager there. There was a glitch in my pizza order and Mike, after apologizing profusely, went above and beyond with my order so that things would be right. I wasn't upset by it, but he was determined to provide excellent service!! Thank you again, Mike!!

I've been coming to this Buddy's location for over 25 years, so it's obviously a family favorite! There is nothing we don't love about Buudy's Detroit deep dish pizza--love that the sauce is on top, love the Wisconsin brick cheddar in lieu of mozzarella, love that crust! I don't think I've ever had bad service at this location, and it's nice to see that tradition continues.

Buddy's serves the best Detroit-style pizza with a crispy, caramelized crust and fresh, generous toppings. Classics like pepperoni and the "Detroiter" are unforgettable. Cozy vibes and great service make it a true Detroit gem!

increased prices. terrible service. take out us the worst service. had a waitress that took forever to get our order deliver the food and oh the bill took forever too. the best part only three tables were occupied. not going back

Went to Buddy's pizza to try their gluten free pizza with vegan cheese. In my head this simply isn't real pizza, but due to lactose and gluten intolerance this was a must try. The pizza was not as light and airy as the original crust, which was to be expected. The crust itself retained the crispy edges and bottom You'd expect, if not crispier. The cheese was a pleasant surprise as well. This location provided ample toppings and made the pizza well worth the cost. This pizza shoots buddy's to the top of the list. Would definitely go back again. Service was attentive. Server was friendly and outgoing.

Food was good, service was awesome. Our waiter was named Seth I believe, he had orange hair and was super friendly and hospitable.

What's not to love about this place? Visited with a group, about twenty of us, on a Thursday night. We were seated within ten minutes, as they were not overly busy. Restaurant has a nice feel to it, good decor, lighting, etc. One waitress managed to take care of the entire group, and she did a great job. I ordered an individual Caesar salad (enough for a meal in itself) and a four square pepperoni, original crust. The pizza lived up to my expectations and then some. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and the waitress was able to get everyone's bills right! For quicker payment, they offer Apple Pay on the check. If I ever return to Auburn Hills I will definitely return.

I had been craving Buddy's for a bit and it has been perhaps a year since we got their pizza. We were in the area shopping at Great Lakes, so we decided to visit this location. It has truly been years since I ate here and it was time for a revisit. I have been seeing Buddy's online on the Gold Belly website and had to have a pizza and it was so worth it. We got the BBQ chicken pizza, so tangy and satisfying, my daughter says it is one of the best BBQ chicken pizzas around. We also ordered the classic pizza with spinach. A nostalgic childhood flavor for me growing up on Detroit pizza. I also ordered the Buddy's brew beer. It is specially made by Griffin Claw for the restaurant, if you enjoy an orange, coriander Blue Moon style beverage you will like this one. They had a good selection on tap, but I like to take advantage of getting this special brew when I am here. We also selected a dark brew for my husband, he appreciates it when restaurants do not limit themselves to lagers and IPA's and only do dark beers in the winter, it shuts him out and eliminates his preferred choices. We also ordered cheese ravioli for my daughter. I thought it was good, she thought it was better the next day. The service was friendly, efficient, fast, and they provided a good experience. I would stop by this location again for either dine or carry-out.

Amazing Detroit style pizza. Absolutely delicious. I have no complaints about anything. High quality sauce , cheese and toppings. Nice spot to enjoy pizza and a salad. Nice relaxed vibes at restaurant.

We were in with a party of 20 tonight and our waitress was Rose C.. She was great. Very fast and was right on it. She had great suggestions for us, was very prompt with our service and there for anything we needed. Definitely would come back again. Great Buddy's location. We sat at the bar and ordered an app and 2 pizzas. Service was fast and pleasant. The food was great and the bar set up was nice and made it easy to enjoy the evening. **good iced tea!

Was doing some work in the Auburn Hills area and a colleague suggested we try this pizza... I'm glad she did! We have a local place that makes a similar style, but this pizza blows it away! The sauce was amazing.. made with fresh basil, and big chunks of ... the crust, as you can see in my pics was just perfect, a little crunch and a little chew. Good amount of toppings but not overwhelming. Had a great local beer... sorry... can't remember what it was.. If you're in the area, give it a try.

Friday evening carry out from Buddy's! We ordered two different kinds of pizza and one of their pasta dishes. One small to Detroiter and one small Detroit Public TV. The pasta dish we had was the Lasagna mac & cheese. Over all the flavors were pretty good. I was a little disappointed that the Detroiter didn't have that much sauce on it. I remember it having more sauce in the past. The Detroiter, really felt like it was fancy bread, not so much a pizza. The Detroit Public TV was good as expected. The Lasagna mac & cheese didn't give me mac and cheese vibes at all. Instead it was sort of like a baked ziti or something. In my opinion it needed a lot more cheese throughout the pasta, not just on top, to be called mac & cheese. While it tasted fine, I likely won't order it again. Carry-out area wasn't crowded and the food was ready on time. Which made the process of picking up the food very easy.

We love Buddy's! (Although this was our first time at this location.) we stopped in on Friday afternoon for lunch and enjoyed some Detroit style pizza. The hubby, best friend and I split an 8-piece (hubby and I are vegetarians so went with the straight cheese pizza with no extra toppings). My best friend had never had Detroit style pizza and ended up saying she LOVES it (and thinks it is so much better than Chicago, which we obviously agree). The service was a little slow, but it was the lunch rush, so we won't hold it against them. Loved all the spooky season decor. Now we just need to get a Buddy's in SoCal and we will be all set

OK OK I'm a believer! I first had buddy several years ago and thought it was OK then I had it again and thought it was better than I had it about a month ago in grand rapids and really really found it tasty. After stopping at this one, I am such a believer. I didn't want the pie to end! These places are always trendy, and seem to have good friendly service with televisions so that you can see the sports games. They have burgers and some pastas available if you're not in the mood for pizza. But why wouldn't you be?

This restaurant had some of the best pizza I have ever had in my life! We were only in town for 3 days, but we ate here 2 times! Waitress was super attentive and very fun. I wish I lived closer to this restaurant, but it is good that I'm no where close to it. I'd have to join Weight Watchers down the street for sure. I highly recommend!

My current favorite pizza is Detroit style, so I had to give Buddy's a try. Came for dinner and only grabbed a 4 square to share. Love the option of doing half and half of two different types/toppings. We got the Eastern Market Veggie and Greektown. Each type was very tasty and so crispy! If I am in town, I will def stop by Buddy's to try other items on the menu as well as other pizza flavors. There are many Buddy's location all throughout MI, if you come across one, I recommend to give it a try!

Food was amazing and their service was great. I got chicken Parmesan was delicious. The sides were also really good I got soup

Pizza tasted very good but flatter than normal. The bartender was very rude and this was not the first time. I am only writing in hopes that this location improves their staff training. This was the second time that I felt like I was not wanted there by the bartender. Which is a shame since I used to frequent this location a lot in the past and had no issues. I visited the Warren location with no issues. Buddy's is a bright spot in Detroit and I would hate for someone from out of town to experience what I have the last two times at this location.

I hadn't been to Buddy's in a while and had a Detroit Pizza and their salad. The salad was very good and the pizza was good but I think it was a little bit overcooked. The crust was a little bit tough. And I was looking forward to having one of their margaritas which were always so good and it was terrible. It was like drinking ice water. There was no flavor and the waitress said that they had changed their Margarita mix. For $12. I wanted more than something that tasted like a glass of ice water. Won't go back

I visited for a quick dinner ahead of a show at Meadow Brook. Shannon behind the bar was great helping me and many other patrons in a full bar area. The pizza was exactly what I was looking for and I appreciate Shannon's service on a busy Monday night!

I found out about buddy's actually on gold belly I didn't know about this restaurant at all. I guess I was living under a rock lol. Anyway we stopped in at the Ann Arbor location. Easy to get to, the restaurant was clean and we were seated very quickly. Our server was personable and very quick with our order. The pizzas we had were Detroit style of course. We ordered the margarita and the spicy Italian. Both very tasty right amount of sauce and toppings. Would I say this this pizza is the best in the world. Probably not but it is a very high-quality pizza and it is worth a stop.

Still the best Pizza in Detroit. Stopped here for a quick business lunch before a meeting at a local car manufacturer's offices. We had only 45 minutes to spare. No problem, they said so we sat down. The four square pizzas were fantastic and came to the table fast and piping hot. For a starter, we shared an antipasta salad. Plenty to go around even with the smallest serving. Soft drinks were kept full by the excellent waitress. We were out in 40 minutes, fully fed with the best pizza in Detroit. Plenty of parking and plenty of seating here. Note to Buddies Corporate decision makers: PLEASE BRING BACK THE ANTIOXIDANT PIZZA!

First time having Detroit style pizza, and definitely not the last. Being from Chicago, I have had my fair share of pizza, and this pizza was one of my favs!! I love the crispiness on each corner. The service here was great, everyone was nice and welcoming. Cheap bottles of wine. 20/10 recommend.

My husband and I like coming to Buddy's. We usually order the antipasto salad and the Detroiter pizza. This time, we ordered the buddy's chicken tender salad and bbq conant.. so delicious!! The servers are great and everything comes out fresh and quickly. The food heats up well the next day, which is always great! We are looking forward to our next visit already.

this was highly recommended to us by several locals so we were super excited to try!! we got the buddy's bread and 4 square of motown museum and margherita. buddy's bread was kind of mediocre, i honestly think the crazy bread at little caesar's is better. the pizza was SO YUMMY, and honestly the perfect amount for 2 people to share. the server was also fairly quick to refill water and give us a side of ranch for the pizzas so that was appreciated. overall a great experience!

They did a fantastic job with social distancing and cleaning. The food was great and Deb was a great server. Miss the snacks. Hope they can come back someday.

Who doesn't love Buddy's pizza? Great local place and great pizza. On par with the rest of them.

I don't live in Michigan anymore so I really miss this place! I visited my family this week and was very excited to go to Buddy's! I ordered a four piece to go just for me. I couldn't wait to get home to eat it, so I tucked in to a delicious slice in my car in the parking lot - LOL! So delicious.

There are two musts I must check off my list when I return "home" to visit my mom: Olga's and Detroit pizza. Yippee! I can get both in the same shopping center! As far as Detroit pizza goes, Buddy's is the best! I long for it when I'm back in Maryland. I'm a cheesy person, and Buddy's pizza does it right. The thick slices with just the right amount of cheese and sauce never fails to satisfy my hunger. It's so filling, two pieces make for the perfect lunch (with two for later, or to share with my mom if I'm feeling generous). I'm a mushroom pizza fan, but my dining companion, a friend from college that I haven't seen in more than 15 years had the DIA pizza. She let me try it. It was phenomenal. It just may be my go-to pizza choice next time.

This is our local family hangout when we are looking for a great pizza and beer experience. The Buddy's Gluten Free pizza cannot be beat, definitely the best crust you will ever experience. We love the antipasto salad, the deep dish Detroiter, and all of the local beers that are on tap. The service here at this location is always really good, even though you may need to wait occasionally for a table on the weekends. If you are looking for a classic "Detroit-style" Pizza, then Buddy's is a great choice.
