Buddy's Pizza

We were in town for a concert and a coworker who is from Detroit recommended Buddy’s pizza. Top recommendation ever as far as I’m concerned! The Allen Road location felt like it was pretty new. The decor was really nice. Clean restrooms. Friendly and welcoming staff.

My first visit. High quality service and food in a strip mall. I highly recommend. Family size salads were fantastic.

This was not the one downtown detroit. Experience was a hit. I get why its popular. I do think they do a disservice to the fantastic crust by putting the cheese on first. While the cheese blend is phenomenal it makes this fantastic crust very dry tasting. Sauce is decent. It looks amazing and the concept is unique.

When in the Detroit area what are you going to eat? Detroit Pizza. This place was convenient, affordable and really popular. But I picked it for my family nickname "Buddy". Delicious Pizza!

I cant believe how bad this was i order a 4 piece with light sauce as you see in picture it wasnt and then there was hardly any cheese on two of the silces ,the bottom was so soggy and it wasnt even cook all the way, couldnt even eat it. Then onto the loaded fries for 11 99 you think they would filled the container up it was only half full and you can tell they was old i get i order at 850pm but still they should take pride in the food. total ridiculous. This happened tonight at 850 pm carry out. Dont think i will we back .

First time eating detroit Style from buddy's, have ordered margherita pizza it was good and the best part is the crispy cheese crust. I wish they also had a white sauce option.

Had a deal for my birthday so figured I’d try it! The cheese blend on the pizza was delicious. The crust nice and crunchy and flavorful. Buddy bread was just ok. I’ll definitely be back to try different options and the salads!

I paid these morons over $15 dollars in fees and tip to deliver me 2 pizzas and breadsticks across the road. Without telling me, they sent this to doordash. For my money, I got to spend 15 minutes on the phone with the delivery driver while I had guests over. I am basically boycotting Buddy's for horrendous service and outrageous cost. EDIT: Buddy's has some nonsense rebuttal trying to blame a "third-party delivery service" for this. This is Buddy's fault. Period. Let me explain to you the pizza delivery social contract: I pay you a hefty fee and the driver a decent tip and you bring me my pizza. If you have a third-party delivering the pizzas who cannot find the place, they should be on the phone with Buddy's not me. They give this third-party your number to call, not theirs! Buddy's made these choices, not a third-party. Buddy's wants to break the simple pizza delivery contract and blame someone else.

Buddy's Pizza is STILL awesome! I drove almost 4 hours from Ohio to pickup my 3 half bake, frozen pizzas that I ordered the day before. Everything was done perfect. Also, Moses, a recent transfer from the Dearborn location, took care of my order and made sure that everything was on point. Thank you to Moses for ensuring my drive to Michigan for my Detroit Style pizza was not a wasted trip. Buddy's Pizza is a Detroit staple! The deep dish Detroit style pizza truly delivers deliciousness. The sides are so crunchy from the hardened cheese crust, so yummy! We opted for a salad to start & it was large, fresh, and tasty! The meatballs & garlic bread was soooo good! The cheese bread was equally amazing. The service was quick, perfect for lunch. There are numerous locations in the metro Detroit area, hit up a Buddy's Pizza today!

I really love Detroit style pizza. I suppose when I'm here I can just call it pizza :) This place did not disappoint and that thiccccc crust coupled with the hot hawaiian toppings just made my day. The only downside is that I wish I was hungrier hehe. I understand this is just a chain and it might be because I'm more of a tourist but oh man I will never get sick of detroit style pizza. Food: 8/10 Service: 5/10 Vibes: 5/10 Value: 6/10

First time having buddy's pizza and maybe it's just not for us. We had several different pizza types and none of them were good. The bread sticks were ok though. Wouldn't get take out from there again.

Good food but pricy for what you get. Not a dinner all the time kind of pizza place. Atmosphere is nice inside, relatively new business, very clean inside and outside and staff is pleasant. Cheese bread I feel is over priced for what you get. Will give that a pass next time. The pizza is great, our go to is the Detroiter. Salad was also good.

I only had one chance to visit while I was in the area on vacation but this was absolute Top Notch Detroit style pizza which I enjoy enormously. Highly recommended.

It was good pizza but. It was not quite as I remember from many moons ago. Still a really good pizza though. Maybe because it is a popular chain restaurant now. Would recommend you give them a try. Cloverleaf bar and grill in Eastpoint was better.

Best Detroit style pizza you'll find anywhere. I have gotten Detroit style pizza all over the country and nothing beats buddy's. I got some hot honey to add and it is so good.

It was New Year's Day this year 2023. My wife and I brought 9 of family members here all for the first time. It was a slow time in the afternoon 3:30ish. We were all seated and served rather promptly as well. Everyone's meals came out rather quick and accurate too. The decor was nice. Looked kinda retro but, very clean and modern. The music that was being played over the speakers was 1980 hits. A lot of good songs. I seen other patrons singing along during their own meals. I thought the pizza was a little pricey for the smaller portions. But, was impressed with the Caesar salad that came in a big serving bowl. We'll come back again. No pictures on this post.

We tried this location again and we were disappointed again .we ordered two pizzas and an antipasto salad. The salad was good. The pizza was minus cheese in various places.

Great pizza and wonderful pickup service. We ordered via phone and the order was waiting for us when we arrived. The staff there was very friendly and a pleasure to have them greet me when we arrived. We love Buddy's Pizza. Wish one would open in Monroe, Mich. where we live!

We eat here weekly, we can walk and they have beer . This is the only place that the food and service quality hasn't tanked in the last 3 years. Never had a bad pizza or bad service!

First time ordered from this location and they forgot the order of Buddy bread. Not driving back 15 minutes for it, but just a reminder that the farther you get from the original the more incapable the staff. Pizza was decent, a bit light on the toppings. I would drive the extra ten minutes to Dearborn.

I don't know why I go back there. Hardly any cheese or pepperoni. It was terrible tonight. Maybe they were just too busy. I got a 8 square pizza and a antipasto salad to go. With $7.70 coupon it was over $25. For the money they charge you should be able to see and taste cheese on the pizza. Very disappointing

This is the 3rd time I've tried this location. I've been a fan of the Dearborn location for years. The 2nd time I wasn't thrilled. This time may have completely turned me off. We ordered 2 4-squares and the dough was so crispy on both that it was hard to bite into. The cheese also seemed saltier than normal. The antipasto salad was good but still seemed different than the Dearborn location. The salami seemed a little off. The ranch was on point as usual. May give a 4th try, but I'm so disappointed in how much I spent for leftovers we won't get to eat. After reading the other reviews I have to wonder, why aren't they improving? I posted on my Facebook page and every comment is negative. This is really sad. Many were excited to get a Buddys Downriver but it is just not good.

Awful! I ordered carry out. I added chicken to the pizza you literally couldn't see it a few small pieces were under sauce not on entire pizza. It was barely warm. They forgot the meatballs - had to wait while everything else got cold - the meatballs were delicious. Salad they said 6-8 people it was more like 3-4 $16.99 for a plain Caesar salad. they had so many people working they were bumping into each other and not one person had any customer service skills or knew what was going on. Super dissappointed . I ate here inside 2 years ago and it was great . Won't be going back. I order 2 ice creams they forgot one , so they did give me the other for free but it didn't make up for $55. Most of which is thrown away.

So this isn't the first time we've been to a buddy's pizza. We've been to the Dearborn Buddy's and the first time wasn't good, but the second time was. Both times I was disappointed in the beer, and since I'm not really a fan of detroit style pizza, I haven't been inclined to return. But my girlfriend wanted to go, and you know, what the girlfriend wants... And what a good thing that we went, because the new buddy's is great. We went on Sunday, and had great service from our bartender. I had two beers and both were served in chilled glasses and cold. Suck it, Dearborn Buddy's! And the pizza was great. It is detroit style, thick and square, but the crust is airier than you might expect and delicious - loved the onions on it. The decor is light and informal and all the condiments were right there for us. Special tip of the hat to the Bocce IPA that I thoroughly enjoyed. More than willing to go back.

This was over Christmas break but our server Claire was just a ray of sunshine! She was there for every need and we just wanted to eat her up! This girl needs a raise!!!!

First of all let me say we love Buddy's Pizza and everything else they have. The problem is the Woodhaven location is nothing, I mean nothing like what the Dearborn location. Watery sauce on the Detroiter and the garlic bread with cheese was worse then frozen. Plus the service has not been great. Our appetizer always comes late or they have forgotten. This has been going on since there Grand Opening. We even asked the Manager at the beginning why the food was different but he had no answer. Trust me we have been going to Buddy's in Dearborn for 30 years without incident. Try that location

We always make a point to stop at Buddy's when we are going anywhere near Detroit. It's definitely one of our favorite pizzas. The Detroiter is a classic choice, but you really can't go wrong with any of their pizzas. Also suggest getting the cheesy garlic bread. If you're a ranch lover like me, they have AWESOME ranch.

So... I waited 20 minutes for drinks. I finally told the waitress we were going to leave because it took 20 minutes to get drinks I couldn't imagine how long it would be for food. I understand bring short staffed but communication would've helped. Pizza was great when I ordered carry out.

Excellent pizza! I enjoy this location a lot. Highly recommend the antipasto salad and the Detroiter pizza. Waitstaff is nice here as well.

Not too happy with this newer location. They must not make the pizza the same across every chain location. I visit Southfield and Novi locations and love how they bake the pepperoni underneath...that's a signature move buddy's is known for however this location half did the job. I saw so many pepperoni on top of my pizza and not baked in it was disappointing. Not sure I'll go back. The take out staff seemed disinterested and not that friendly...or at least the young lady that waited on me. I had to point out that my receipt was still in the dispenser because she was focused on something else.

You're solution to a family of 6, one of which is in a height chair, plus a grandparent was to try and seat 5 at one table and 2 at a second table across the room. A policy is one thing, common sense is another. Do better. You've lost our business for a long time.

I was throughly impressed with this location when I visited. I greeted pleasantly and sat at the bar. I was happy to see that the kitchen staff wore mask properly and entire the time as I sat there. The drinks were good, food was hot and we enjoyed it.

Brand new to Woodhaven. Buddy's has great pizza! My wife and daughter split a gluten free veggie...IKR. Anyway, they said their GF crust was so good they had to taste our regular crust to make sure theirs was GF. We had a super and it was great. They had LOTS of staff hovering (I'm sure some from corporate) because it's the first week. The staff is mostly young and really went out of their way to take excellent care of our table!

Buddy's was excellent! Had a variety of food delivered to my hotel on a recent visit to Michigan a couple weeks ago. The food was excellent, hot and fresh upon delivery. Overall, a very smooth delivery and I would recommend Buddy's!

I approached this establishment starving, we then could've went to the movie theater across the street and watched Spider-Man before our pizza came out. It took 50 minutes for it to finally arrive. When it approached me it looked out of this world, but when I ate it I wished I was out of the restaurant. I took my first bite while my brother dropped a detrimental deuce in the bathroom. The crust tasted like it was seasoned with dirt from the landscaping outside. The rest of the pizza was extremely mid. The only positive was the salad that came out an hour before our pizza. server was nice tho so she made of for the crisis that was occurring in the kitchen. mid.

Their carry out staff here is problematic to put it mildly. They are as consistent in not getting the simplest orders right as they are in being totally unapologetic. Aside from the barely there toppings on pizzas, that is. You'll need a microscope and a bit of patience to find your mushrooms, for instance. It isn't a very professional operation and no one is going to try and make it up to you no matter what. They blew their last chance with me. At least the other locations are not as careless as this one.

Had a great experience here at my first visit to the Woodhaven location. This was for a carry out order for a couple pizzas and a family size salad. This place was absolutely jam packed on a Friday night! Both inside the restaurant, and at the carry out counter, people were flowing in for this delish pizza. It was great to see the new location doing well. The new staff dealt with the crowds well, and they were working their tails off trying to get all the orders out. Our food was delicious! We got two 8-slice pies (one cheese and one pep + mushroom) and the family size antipasto salad. With our email club coupon, all this was $42 and it was more than enough to feed 6 people. The pizza was great, piping hot, and perfectly cooked. If you've never had the antipasto salad, it's a must try! I highly recommend ordering with the house dressing as it is the perfect compliment to the salad. We will definitely be back the next time we need our Detroit style pizza fix.

The dining in and the carry out experience are light years apart. When the place first opened I dined there with co-workers and it was at least a 4 out of 5. However, the last 2 experiences have been carry out and both have led us to never eating at this location again. Dearborn is just as far and the Buddy's there is fantastic. The $$$$$ pizza was undercooked despite requesting both times for it to be well done. I would expect that a request of well done would at least get you a cooked pizza. All the toppings were of course al dente if not still leaning towards raw. I had to fire up my electric oven on broil and try and finish the cooking process without burning the top. I did a better job the 2nd time but both times could not quite get the sauce to completely cook before having to remove it before burning the top. You can tell they my pizzas were hastily cooked and rushed out the door. Maybe the doordash thing isn't working out so well. I don't know. Pains me to write this as Buddy's has been a staple in our house for decades.

if this was my first experience with buddies I would never go back. I have been going to buddies for years. I started at the original 6 mile and Conant restaurant... None can compare. I did go to the Woodhaven Buddy's when it first opened and when during COVID and even with all of craziness going on Buddy's in Woodhaven remained top quality.... I don't know what changed between then and now. The pizza was flat and dry. I could have paid a lot less and went to the grocery store and got a frozen pizza that would have tasted just as good or probably better.

This is the first time that I have ever ordered pizza from here. I ordered through Door Dash. The fruit cup that came with my order tastes like onion/garlic. I called the location and was referred to the manger who told me to contact Door Dash. I was not looking for a refund; just wanted to let them know they had garlicky fruit.

Great place!!! EXCELLENT SERVICE. Madison M is our favorite! Will always request to sit in her section! The salad is the bomb love the little cheese cubes . The pizza hands down the best Downriver !!! Almost forgot! Music playlist, loved it tonight, took me back to the 80's

This is the second time we were told 20-25 minutes and it's over an hour for a small pizza and antipasto salad. Ridiculous and COVID is no excuse. I love Buddy's food but this kind of service (not very busy either) will keep me away. No more Buddy's in Woodhaven!

Do yourself a favor and drive to another location-it's worth getting a good pizza. I lived in Livonia for 15 years and never once had a bad experience at the Livonia Buddys. Kathy, Matt..managers were all amazing as well as the staff! I just moved 40 minutes south of Livonia and was thrilled when I saw Buddys open up down here. Especially during covid, we order more carry out then I chose to admit. We get it often. I have ordered carry out from Woodhaven five times in five weeks and have had four terrible experiences. The only good experience was when the manager Chris was on top of it-watching my order. Everything from the food, to the employees behavior has been less then undesirable. This location can not get it together and obviously needs to send most of their younger employees back for training. 5 visits in a month, 4 bad experiences! Visit #1 Called 20 mins before close. Girl with a name rhyming with 'Harley' tells us they 'put everything away' and aren't taking any orders. I complain and Chris responded, very kind. Made us a new pizza on our next carry-out visit #2..., it was great! Visit #3 A few days later I wanted a pizza for a family member visiting. I ordered extra sauce + sauce on the side, I got neither. I called again and 'Lady manager' put in credit for next time-a small pizza. Discouraged but willing to give Woodhaven one more shot at it. Visit #4 A week later, I was using the credit for the pizza that had no sauce. Got home to find out that this new pizza was burned. The bottom was burned and I had to toss it out. I have NEVER had a pizza burned on the bottom from Buddy's-EVER? Didn't call...what's the point, it was free. Visit #5 Giving up on the pizzas, I ordered carry-out Buddy Bread w/pizza sauce & a salad. It's raining outside but I recognized the manager in his rain poncho bringing my food out to my car. He was the manager working (when the young girl told me they weren't taking any orders 20 minutes before close) and I recognized him immediately. He handed me my bags with MARINARA SAUCE sitting on top of the bag that held my PLAIN Buddy Bread! I did NOT order Buddy Bread without the cheese crumb topping, and I ordered pizza sauce-not marinara sauce. I truly did not realize this until I got home, even though the sauce looked bright orange, and I should have knew better. It was raining out, and the manager had just handed it to me while getting rained on. He was gone before I even looked at the bag. I trusted his judgment that the sauce would be correct. Wrong!!! My family does not like Buddy's marinara sauce. This time after getting four orders in a row that were not correct, I decided to call Buddys yet again to inquire if possibly I made the error in placing the order (I later looked and confirmed that my order did specify pizza sauce.) A young girl with a name rhyming with 'Biz' answered the phone. When I asked her to check to see if my order showed the correct sauce, She replied that I was supposed to have pizza sauce but 'to be honest- most of the employees are just lazy.' and they give out marinara? No idea why this would be such an effort to get some pizza sauce with my order and why would managers allow this type of laziness to occur? There are a lot of people out there especially now looking for jobs. If these young people are too lazy to dish up some pizza sauce, then I think this establishment has a lot more problems than just the bad service. It is kind of perplexing that both times the same manager was working, I was told by 2 different young ladies on 2 different days that the young employees didn't want to work? Is he aware that this is the mentality on his shift?

Detroit Classic giving away FREE medium Salad your choice just purchase a 8 square Pizza. Yes Thank You finally got me to newer Downriver location which was dead at lunch hour, more employees than customers. Had a Wonderful Antipasti Salad and All the Meats Pizza spot on delicious. We been customers for over 40 years just not regulars any longer. Also had a Wonderful Broccoli Cheddar Soup. Fun outstanding waitress Bella made for a delightful visit. We named her Queen of the DumDums she made them look so fabulous see my photo. I'm so happy that they opened a location in Woodhaven! The restaurant was super clean and had tons of seating. Our waitress was one of the best I've ever had. She was attentive and quick.our food came out quickly and was so delicious!

Had the Hawaiian pizza and it was sooooo! good! The sweet, smoky fruity barbecue sauce was the key ingredient. The whole pizza was well-made and the only problem is it was so good I don't know if I can squeeze it into my budget as often as I would like. I'm surprised this place doesn't have a five star rating, I don't know what kind of perfection people are expecting but this is a great restaurant.

We always have the best service at this location. Mackenzie was our server the last time we were in and she was very sweet and friendly. Thank you for always having a great consistent product.

YES! Eat here! My family ate here for lunch the other day and it was perfect. I'm so happy we chose Buddy's. We walked in right at 11 when they opened and the staff was extremely friendly. We ordered Buddy Bread for an appetizer and got it within 10 minutes of sitting down. Then, we ordered the Honey Dijon Chicken Sandwich with fries, and the Grilled Steak Hoagie with mushrooms and green peppers and a side Caesar saladd. The flavor was great for both sandwiches! They came out in good time and our waitress was absolutely perfect. We will definitely be back.
