What a treat having dinner here was. First tip, make a reservation ahead of time. They have set windows for dining periods, this is not a restaurant where you walk in at any random time and get seated.
The chefs all work with such precision, I would venture they could make most of the dishes and side dishes with their eyes closed. The kitchen area looks pristine, and it was a pleasure to watch them at their craft.
My shrimp noodle dish was amazing. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, seasoned Immaculately, and the sauce/soup was rich and full of flavor. The duck in the duck breast side dish (that I forgot to take a picture of) was a wonderful combination of smoky, salty, and fatty. All of the salad along with it was also very good. Lastly, my the flavors of coffee, coconut milk, and banana for my desert complimented each other very well and made for a great finish to one of my favorite meals in Taiwan.
The flavors are superb and complex, whereas I have found some Taiwanese food to be a bit underseasoned. The staff explained each dish to me in English and were very friendly. The dining space does not have a ton of seats, so you get a more intimate experience with the chefs, and again, I really enjoyed watching them prepare everyone's food from close up. If you love good food and are in Tainan, you must stop here!
