Buenas Nachos

Good tacos, larger dine in area but no outdoor seating. I've been twice and would go again. Their pickled carrots are great and prices are reasonable.

Only had it once and it was ok but I thought the steak was tough. Ground beef taco and al pastor was pretty good and they were stuffed with the goods. Horchata was a little sweet for me but the staff was amazing and I'll give them another visit

I'll probably never return here. Not only were my tacos cold the steak is flavorless, the tacos are greasy and whoever took my order was really ignorant and short with me over the phone. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the rice water was good.

I have been going here for many years. Still the best tacos and nachos around.

Excellent Mexican food, especially outside of Chicago. Service was nice and gave me tons of salsas! Thanks! My favorite was the nopales tacos and gigantic torta.

Good name for this place in Frankfort except it has more than nachos on the menu. It's a lot more to be sure. Buenas Nachos is a casual feeling place but it's better than it seems though as it has good prices and portions on everything. Has the basic Mexican American stuff like burritos and tacos, the kind of things approved by kids. This is about as good as Mexican gets around here, so you better like it or get Taco Bell shit. Came at lunch and it wasn't busy. It's not that big of a place so it looks busier than it is. There's only a few tables. Also there's freshly made beverages. It has Horchata and Jamaica for about $2.50 in a big cup. The cup size is plenty. Order at the counter. We got some of the basic stuff. Good vegetarian choices. There's a few. Burritos are about $7, and I left off the cheese and sour cream. This one also comes with green peppers, onions, rice, and tomatoes. Big and filling. Vegetarian Tacos are pretty similar. It's $2.75 each. This has about the same filling so it's basically different on just outside. For sure it's not authentic. It's in a pretty busy strip mall so it's going for a broad audience so it means making it more palatable for all tastes. The food still is pretty good in spite of it and there's a lot for vegans and vegetarians.

Family owned and operated since 1991. This place is still great after 3 decades. Recommend the Superman burrito. The founder just retired about six months ago, with her son taking over. Hopefully they make it another 32 years!

I just had chicken enchiladas mole delivered, and it was absolutely delicious. And it was still hot when it arrived here - I'm about 5 miles away. The mole is just perfect. Lots of chicken. Real carrots in the rice and the beans are excellent. Good price too.

Spent $13.45 on a "Superman" burrito dinner. It should be called the ground BEEF burrito. On the menu it contains Steak, Pork, Beef, Chicken, rice, Beans, Lettuce, Tomato, Cheese, Onion and Guacamole..... it was 95% ground beef/ 5% chicken. Also 2 slices of avocado not guacamole. I understand the price of meat is through the roof but don't double the price of a burrito and not include whats advertised in the description

I used to work super close to this place. Omg it's so good. I now live in Chicago with so many good Mexican food places, and I miss buenas nachos. It's still as good as it was a decade ago

Went there when it first opened, lived in several other states but every time I go back home or pass through I always stop for the steak burritos

OK--UPDATE! Been over a year since I went back to this place. I was desperate and hungry and in a hurry. WOW! Next time I'll starve. In my last review I wrote about the decline of the quality of the food and how they REVERSED MY ENTIRE ORDER!!! Like, I said I was in a pich this time and decided to give them another chance. I wasn't expecting the food to be any better but I placed an incredbly simple order and thought, well, there's no way they can screw this up. WRONG! THEY DID IT AGAIN!! COMPLETELY REVERSED THE ORDER!! I ordered 2 ground beef tacos, cheese only and 2 steak tacos with everything except cheese. Whadda ya think I got? Two ground beef tacos with everything and two steak tacos with cheese only! Holy guacamole! And to top it off, all of it was AWFUL!! I will NEVER go back.

This place is a good little Mexican restaurant that sells homemade burritos and pork chicken and beef nachos. The food is good and I like it, the service patient and the ambience inside the Restuarant is clean and nice. All and all a good restaurant.

For me, this is the best steak burrito anywhere. Great tacos too. The lady who owns the place is such a sweetheart too. Been going here for over 20 years and I highly recommend.

The food is ok, if you can get what you order. I do not like rice and tell them each time we have ordered, no rice. yet they give me rice. We ordered tostada dinner and got a taco dinner. When you are paying so much for food these days, you want what you ordered. called in and was put in the middle of a manager attempting to figure out who made and sent out the order wrong. I don't care about your business's employee issues, just want my food right. You have lost a customer.

Al pastor dinner (3 tacos & rice & beans) tacos came with onions and cilantro which were good. First time getting al pastor tacos. IMO the pork was not marinated enough i went through 3 cups of green sauce just to make sure they were saucy enough. Also I would've requested flour tortillas next time I'm just not a fan of corn tortillas. I also got a horchata (drink) which is delicious. Perfect . Not the best Mexican food I've had but it's good. Also price has increased apparently. I was looking at old menu when i ordered I also thought the tacos would come w cheese tomatoes n lettuce because the old menu said that about tacos. Would like to see different or more marination in the future. Rice w/ veggies and beans(w cheese) were good, rice was a little dry also. I usually get chicken Quesadilla Dinner which comes with rice and beans too.

Chips were stale, salsa was gross, taco was tasteless and torta was inedible. Seemed like very nice people, they just don't know how to make Mexican food. This wasn't authentic, and it wasn't American. I don't think any country would claim what they're trying to pass off at Burnas Nachos.

My absolute favorite Mexican spot. The best Al pastor tacos in the area. House special Buenas Nachos tacos are always fantastic as well, loaded with toppings. Massive burritos. And wonderful service, everyone here is always very nice and the food is served fresh and fast.

For the longest time, I typically drove pass by this restaurant and didn't really notice it. However, while at another restaurant in the same lot, I noticed it had a lot of traffic coming in and out. Fast forward to the next time I wanted Mexican food and I decided to stop by. Wow! The food was absolutely delicious!!! I ordered steak nachos with chihuahua cheese and, a al pastor taco. Both the steak and the al pastor were very flavorful! ! The prices were a little higher than I am used to paying. But it was definitely worth it! The nachos and taco were delicious and the portions were more than enough. The people who work there were very polite and friendly. This is definitely my new go to spot! (Bring cash bc there is a extra fee to pay with cc.)

I'm giving this place a five star because it's good Mexican food for cheap and it's pretty close to where I live. Service is great and they are so nice there.

Haven't been to this place In a awhile. I used to love their steak tacos they were delicious. Well i went there last week and ordered a steak taco dinner on flour tortilla. Ug the meat tasted like cheap grade old meat and very greasy Not the same. I had one taco and threw out the rest. They are really cutting corners on buying quality meat but still wanna raise prices. I'm done going there. Beans had no flavor and rice was just ok

4.7 Genuinely one of my favorite places to go eat. Their burritos are flavor punching good and their tacos don't miss the mark. Pair that with an awesome and authentic atmosphere and it makes for a really nice date spot or in between errands stop. Highly recommend!!

Good, reasonably priced tacos. They also sell delicious fresh tortilla chips and they fill the bag right up to the top. I recommend steak tacos with cilantro and onion only. The t-shirts are also a good price.

Honestly their tacos are mind blowing, fresh hot sauce, great chips except I did not like the nachos I got today was very basic.

Probably my favorite local Mexican joint. I order from here frequently. Went with the streak quesadilla dinner. Two of them came correctly. The other...well, have a look at the picture. Took a bite out of it and tomatoes and sour cream only. ‍‍‍ maybe I should skip take out from here from now on. What happened????

Second time ordering I received the wrong item on order. They did not give any salsa for the food. I ordered potato flautas and received chicken. Wrong order completely. Don't recommend ordering from door dash app

I've been coming to this place for 20 years, always solid Mexican food. I go here every time I visit the area.

This spot was just ok. My tacos were decent and my husband loved the torta, but the chips had no salt and the salsa tasted like it was from a jar. They staff was very friendly and the place was clean. My daughter loved her hamburger, but her fries were undercooked.

Absolutely love this place. Been going here for years, best tacos around. Their guacamole and rice is also a favorite with my family- couldn't say enough about how much I enjoy this place!

Sorry Buenas Nachos! Your service was not to my expectations. Enchilada dinner was not like I've had at other restaurants, the sauce had no flavor My daughters tamales were hard at the ends. My son rated your asada tacos a 2 out of 10, he was not happy. Your meat had too much fat. The rice was salty and the beans were cold and was served way too much to finish for my dinner. To be completely honest I only enjoyed your horchata drink. Will not be eating here again.

It has been a long time since I have been to Buenas Nachos and we were eating wondering why it had been so long! The food was very good! Really good guac! I had a combo burrito and my wife had tacos. The ellote was delicious! We will be heading back again soon!

Great food but the staff(not cooks) are a little too distracted by the TV. I waited while my food sat there. Nothing worse then trying to get in and out when the bearded dude spaced out watching some lame Keanu Reeves movie.

If you like your order being taken wrong and you call the restaurant to let them know and the young girl on the phone says to one of her coworkers "God I hate stupid people" then this is the place for you! If this is the level of acceptable customer service that is truly a shame. This place was a local favorite of mine and my husband has been coming here for years but we do not wish to patronize a location that feels it is appropriate to treat their customers in this manner

I gave them a 5 for excellent customer service, fast take-out and fresh food! Food was hot, they included all the salsa and pico, and the meat had great flavor. I'll definitely eat here again.

I've always liked the food here and enjoyed carry out for the family. Tonight I was disappointed when buying a pound of beef and nachos and guacamole. Upon paying my $12 I asked for hot sauce. The lady said they didn't give out sauce and I would have to pay extra. Come on....don't start nickel-and-diming people on their hot sauce!!!!

I've been a customer here since the early 90's. There was a woman who ran the show and a tight ship. Never had any problems with food or service. Nowadays, if you go there during the week before 5:00 everything will be fine. However, any time after 5:00, and on Fridays are out of the question. Younger kids take over and they could care less. I tried calling in a order Friday at 6:00. Busy time I'm sure, but no one would answer the phone. I finally get through after calling for 10 minutes only to be put on hold and never gotten back to. I hung up repeated this process 3 times with the same results. The older two sons do a great job during the day, the younger crew that relieves them is chasing customers away running this place down. I go to mytaco on rt 30 now it's closer and no hassle.

Everything on the menu is great, reasonably priced, and very quick service. The Buenas Nachos taco dinner is my favorite - they don't skimp on the ingredients and the avocado is always fresh!

Buenas Nachos is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Frankfort area for tacos and nachos. Think dive restaurant for Mexican food. The service is always friendly and everyone is always working hard. The beef nachos are my total guilty pleasure. Don't tell anyone but, I adore the orange melty nacho cheese. Plus it is super inexpensive as a small order is plenty for an entire meal and a large will feed a whole family. Sometimes I split the nachos and order some steak tacos too. Yum! The meat is well seasoned and the cheese, tomatoes and cilantro make for perfect toppings. The best part is once you put their number in your phone and have the menu memorized, you can call your order in and it will be ready when you arrive. ;)

The staff is amazing! The food is delicious cant beat the price point. The fact that they have carrots&peppers is a bonus for me..My go to meal is steak tacos but ive branch out and had chicken and pork and the both was good

I don't see why some people hate this place; I thought this place was fantastic. I placed a large order via phone and the guy was polite and repeated my order. I came in to get my food, and the cashier threw in some sauce for the tacos, along with those amazing pickled carrots and jalapenos. The transaction was easy, but was the food good? It was. It was very good. The food was outstanding. I've been to a lot of Mexican places in the hoods on Chi-town, and this place can compete with any of them. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. Most tacos are under $2, and I got a large nachos with beef for $5,89, which was HUGE (easily split between 4 people, and I'm a big eater). The prices for guac were also reasonable, especially compared to what Chipotle charges. The menu is available online, and you can call ahead to avoid waiting around for your food. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. I see no reason why this place deserves less than 5-stars.

Stopped in and grabbed a steak burrito..it was good, but not great. If I'm hungry and in the area, I might try this spot again. It's closer to being a 2.5 rating to be fair.

Have no idea of time management. When u have an order with something that takes 5 min and one that takes 10 min on same ticket u cook the longer one first. Place blows chunks.

I seriously cannot fathom who is giving this place such a high rating. First of all, over priced; and they nickel and dime you for every sauce or side or anything you could think of. Salsa: horrible. Tastes like they started with a bottle of ketchup and added onions Guacamole: not terrible if you're on a bland diet or are averse to salt or flavor of any kind Beans: worst I've ever had. They opened them straight from a can and then dried them out a little Rice: actually decent Tacos al pastor: also decent but too many chunks of fat mixed into the meat Steak burrito: couldn't get past those abominable beans to tell if it could've stood a chance Overall, will never eat here again. There's got to be actual Mexican somewhere in the area?

Mexican corn opened in the Togo bag. Destroyed! I called and the "worker" refused to put a manager on the phone and refused to tell me his name. He blamed everything on the delivery driver and said call them. I told him I didnt touch the food and will bring the entire grease soaked papper bag back to them to see how I recieved it. Very ignorant on the phone and I love there food but will never order from them again!

My favorite place to get tacos at in Frankfort! Prices are low and the service is fast, friendly and efficient. I love their steak tacos with refried beans, rice and lettuce! Each taco is only $2.20!

I have been going here for 20+ years and never had a bad meal. If your looking for some great Mexican food and a even greater price, this is the spot. Very friendly and always busy. We ordered dinner during this pandemic and then came to the car gave us our food took our payment, and we never had to move. I highly recommend everyone trying it, you won't be disappointed.

OH MY gatto!! You have to try the chicken stew soup!!! A broth, with corn, peas, onions and 2 actual whole pieces of chicken!! We had a leg and a breast. 32 ounces!! DEEEELISH!! A true meal on its own. Only available in the winter.. We split a SUPERMAN burrito. It was very good. Could have used some sour cream on the side...

I never take the time to review places, but I feel like it is my duty to tell people about Buenas Nachos. I just tried their Tacos Al Pastor, and I must say, this is the best Al Pastor I've ever had. So much flavor in every bite. Masterfully, and perfectly prepared. I've tried the chicken tacos from here before, they were good, but the Pastor is legendary. 100% will return.
