Buenos Aires Argentine Steakhouse Wimbledon Review - Wimbledon - London - The Infatuation

"The award for Wimbledon’s most dimly lit restaurant goes to Buenos Aires Argentine Steakhouse. The name doesn’t exactly slip off the tongue but the juicy tenderloin will after you douse it in peppercorn sauce. It’s ideal for a romantic dinner that feels intimate even when the whole room is packed out, or a tame birthday involving the Buenos Aires steak sampler board for the table, with all of the sauces and every type of potato on the side (fries, chips, and mash). The Argentinian menu here is pretty straightforward, and the best thing is to fill up on a couple of cuts of steak—they know what they’re doing, so you won’t get something well-done when you asked for medium. It’s a popular spot so you’re better off booking in advance, but the always-cheery servers usually do their best to find you a table if you rock up for an impromptu post-work dinner. Came for cousins birthday dinner. Great dine in experience. Waiters were excellent. Food was also top quality on top of their good service and cleanliness. Great restaurant to visit if your in SW London.

Went for dinner here this week, and the food was incredible. The steak was cooked and flavoured perfectly. The service was also brilliant (not sure who our server was, but receipt mentions a Joanna!). The banoffee pie for dessert was also fab. Great atmosphere and vibe, great food and great service. Will be returning! Thank you.

Fantastic meal! The food was exceptional and the service couldn't have been friendlier. The fillet steak was melt in the mouth good! We will definitely be back and will speak be highly recommending to friends.

Google
Awful experience at this restaurant. Refused to serve me due to an allergy, despite them telling me they did not use the allergen in their kitchen but they could not prevent “contamination”. I was shocked at how rude the server was and how he addressed the issue, he even snatched the menu away. He clearly was not the brightest spark and should not be working in food/hospitality, as he could not even grasp the difference between nuts and bread. The manager came over to explain why I wouldn’t be served, and she was even ruder, speaking over me loudly. Their policy regarding allergens is discriminatory. If they can’t avoid contamination from an allergen they don’t even have in their kitchen, I’m concerned by how poor their hygiene must be. Would not recommend.

I was there last Sunday evening, and the meat I had was really good!!! The staff were also very kind. And what can I say, I even had the chance to meet a couple of very famous tennis players who were starting the tournament the next day :) !

Perfectly cooked meat, was really soft and tasted brilliant. Highly recommend the tasting platter; the ribeye just melted in my mouth, haha!

We had a lovely time having dinner for two here. Everybody was very friendly and the steaks were nothing short of delicious! Will definitely be back and recommending this place.

Google
I had the lamb when I visited. The food was very, very good. But the portion was so small. It was like a kids meal. Three small pieces of lamb. Just not worth the price tag, very tight. But overall an enjoyable experience. Needed a McDonald's top up on the way home.

Yelp
So after waiting 20 minutes for a 'reserved' table, watching a completely chaotic front-of-house try to deal with three couples arriving simultaneously, next to the door which didn't quite close properly - creating a howling, icy-cold gale which encircled the small, packed restaurant. I really wasn't expecting much. However, after cunningly choosing the only table in the place which wasn't in the breeze, we had superb, ninja-like service from our waiter who brought two excellent steaks, perfectly cooked coupled with a superb Argentine Malbec. The 4-star rating shows how good the food was, even to forget the rather rocky outset.

Yelp
Whenever I'm in London with my girlfriend I make it a point to bring her here. Great atmosphere and the steak offerings are top notch! Until a year ago when we visited this place I'd never been to an Argentinian Steakhouse. This was a great 1st impression! If you are visiting London and need a good place to take your woman out on a date give this place a try.

Yelp
Service was slow and a little scatty - they forgot our drinks order and brought the mains at different times. But the server seemed genuinely distraught at forgetting, so we didn't mind. And the steaks themselves were superb, while creamy spinach beefed up the meal nicely. You can't beat a £10 steak and fries lunch in my opinion. Desserts were beautiful. I'm glad I shared the crispy pancake thingy with dulce de leche (DDL) layers. Delicious and oh-so rich. Don't bother flying to Argentina, graze on top-class steak in Wimbledon!

Yelp
I grabbed a late lunch here on a Friday afternoon when the restaurant wasn't too busy - I returned on the Saturday evening and it was packed! I can see why it's popular. This is a small place but with a good atmosphere. The food is delicious - I ordered a low-carb naked steak Burger with Chilli Broccoli on the side. My bill was £17. I'd love to return here with friends, although I suspect because of the size and popularity of the restaurant, I'd recommend to book ahead.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place. Very cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The quality of their steak was excellent. Very tasty! The dish was not that big so I recommend to get some sides as well. The starters were nice. The olives were super tasty! We also ordered caramel cheesecake which was not too sweet and a perfect choice to wrap up the evening with. The staff were nice and welcoming. Remember to book it in advance as it's a very small place!

Yelp
Three of our friends and I ate here. All four of us have been to Argentina and know our meats. We all ordered Ribeye Steak. All four Steak was horrible. The meat was chewy. My friend's steak was full of fat, more than half was not edible. The waitress felt bad.and apologized seeing our plates and reduced our bill by 10 percent without us asking for it. I rate this sad.

Yelp
What an amazing place! Had such a lovely evening here. Great food and nice service, can't ask for more. We had bread rolls with chimichurri sauce to start and the manager immediately came over to explain to us the origin of the sauce and where the name came from. He was really friendly without being overwhelming, gave us such a warm welcome and seemed to genuinely want us to have a nice evening. The chimichurri sauce was delish and then came the steaks. Mmm. I had the rib eye and my dining companion had the sirloin, cooked medium. Both were delicious but the winner was the rib eye - so perfectly tender. The accompanying chips were crispy and salty, really good. The only part that was a slight letdown was the mushroom sauce, not bad but nothing to write home about. Lastly, the wine list is extensive and for the most part, expensive, but the malbec we had was delish and I would order it again. All in all, a really nice experience and would recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
Good quality food. Amiable service. A bit tiffed that I paid 16£ for 4 bottles of water considering how much the overall price tag was. But otherwise, steak was cooked well, presentation was well done, and dessert was lovely too.

Yelp
Had a perfect evening here - textbook service, a perfect steak cooked blue, good wine and a contagious passion for Argentinian cuisine. Nice atmosphere and the feel of a truly friendly place. Will be back ;)

Yelp
Outstanding food, the Lomo was tender and perfectly cooked. The service was wonderful and attentive. The chistorras and empanadas were good. I would highly recommend this place for a nice dinner! :)

Yelp
Never disappoints! Starters, steak and dessert are always awesome. Staff are very friendly and helpful

Yelp
Very good food. Try the lomo, it's the best! They should have a different potato-menu though. Fries does not go to such a great piece of meat. New-potatoes would have been better. Also try the chorizo as an appetiser - amazing. A bit pricy, but worth it. Buenos Aires has good deals in the weekdays, so go in the weekdays for a cheaper meal. The restaurant is a bit small, but cozy. The waiters may seemed a bit busy and stressed, but attentive nevertheless. Bad and boring desserts. Did not match the rest of the meal.
