I aunt Ethel introduced me to Buff Patty in Brooklyn and I tried the chicken patty and the jerk chicken wings, and I’m still thinking about those wings. The chicken patty was delicious, but the wings completely stole the show. They were so good that I actually went back and ordered more just to take home with me to Dallas. That’s how serious it was. I’m Trinidadian, and I'm decent cook, but whenever I come to Brooklyn now, I get excited about going to or ordering from, Buff Patty. They absolutely deliver every time. The flavor on those wings was incredible — rich, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. Perfect crunch on the outside and well cooked but juicy on the inside. What really surprised me is that I’m actually very picky with meat. I rarely finish wings because I usually don’t love the texture of meat. But these? I cleaned the bones completely. That almost never happens for me. If you love Caribbean flavors or just want wings that are genuinely memorable, this place is definitely worth the stop. #HayiaSophia #HayiaSophiaFaves

So I ordered buff patty threw Uber eats I spent a total of $54 dollars for 2 dinners and a drink i got the oxtail dinner white rice, sweet plantain which was a 5/10 the oxtails were extremely tough and the sweet plantain was hard and dry , but the shrimp rasta pasta HORRIBLE first and foremost, it looks nothing like traditional Rasta pasta no seasonings no flavor at all u taste nothing but heavy cream and onions smh I was really looking forward to try there rasta pasta being that i've eaten food from them prior, I've only had the curry chicken and curry roti, which was very flavorful so I assumed all the food would be good this is totally unacceptable. These restaurants are losing The passion for cooking and just serving anything it doesn't look good on the Business people work hard for their money I hope this restaurant takes the feedback seriously and improves the quality because the experience wasn't worth the price Please

Over priced. Rude service, the guy the was working there was condescending.. he can’t just assume everyone is a regular and knows the price because no other Ja restaurant I ever been to charge extra for spinach rice. I paid $16 for that size

Very good Jamaican Restaurant. This place is clean and has variety. I really love the fact they serve hominy porridge on Saturday. The soups are good and jerk pork is on point. The only concerning part is their prices could be slightly lower.

This was my first time visiting here. I only had a chicken patty the crust of the chicken patty was really good. Unfortunately I think they gave me the wrong one because I didn't want a spicy chicken patty so because of that I had to rate it a 3 star. Mr had stew beef with rice and vegetables. He really loved it. I didn't try it, I don't know.

The food is pretty good and arrived fresh/hot. Just wish it had a tiny bit more flavor. They didn’t put any gravy on my oxtails and gave my cabbage instead of plantain which isn’t what I ordered. The only complaint I really have is put more gravy on the oxtails or at least give you the option to request more gravy when ordering takeout.

Hands down, the best oxtail i've ever had! The flavors are incredible - tender, juicy oxtail slow-cooked to perfection in a rich, savory sauce that's both sweet and spicy. It's was a lot of food. My meal I order was generously filled with chunks of oxtail, making each bite a delightful experience. The texture is amazing, with the perfect balance of tender meat and crispy edges. What truly sets this dish apart is the depth of flavor - you can tell the chef put love and care into crafting this masterpiece.

The food here taste really good. But the interaction with the staff is almost always unpleasant. Ordered the oxtail today. If I'm paying almost $20 for a plate, please give me what I paid for 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽3 of the "oxtails" were all bone / no meat. Came just as pictured.

Until a few hours ago, I hadn't been inside of Buff Patty Caribbean restaurant for over 20 years. I stopped in to grab dinner for work. It was after 8PM and several dishes were still available. The crispy escoveitch snapper looked good but I didn't want to heat it up at work and clog up the atmosphere with fishy fumes. I got an order of brown stew beef with white rice and cabbage. The beef was tender and saucy. The cabbage was cut and shredded paper thin and cooked until void of flavor and color. The rice was just white rice. Overall, not a spectacular meal but it was filling and I was able to stretch two meals out of one tin pan. My food was also very reasonably priced. Buff Patty is alright with me.

I ordered the Chili Salmon. It was pretty good, but I was unimpressed by the rice and peas and cabbage. Both were flavorless and the plantains were DRY.

I'm going to give this place 3 stars ONLY because hands down this was the best beef patty I've ever had in my life!!!! Stopped here on our way to the layout around 12:40pm and first of all the door was locked with all the staff inside and a note on the door that said they were in a staff meeting and wouldn't be open until 1pm. I thought that was EXTREMELY unprofessional as staff meetings should be held outside of normal business hours, either before opening or after closing. Next, the staff wasn't very friendly or inviting. I felt rushed to order and pushed along. I ended up getting 2 mild beef patties and an order of brown stew chicken with cabbage and rice and peas. The cabbage and rice was good but I didn't care for the brown stew chicken. It was sweet and almost had a barbecue sauce kind of taste. Now that beef patty! Delicious 10/10, seasoned and spiced perfectly, meat was a nice minced texture, the crust flaky and delicious. I will definitely be back for more beef patties when I go to Brooklyn, but probably nothing else.

This Caribbean spot is close to where I now live and has been on my list to try. I finally got the chance to order take out from here on my way home one night and ordered quite a variety. The place was pretty busy, but I still felt like the staff had time for me and made sure I was taken care of. I decided to get the curry shrimp meal ($15) and asked for it to have no spice (since I have low tolerance to spiciness). Thankfully, since the shrimp dish is cooked to order, they were able to accommodate my request. I selected the sides of rice and peas, as well as plantains. I also picked a few small menu items: Fried chicken ($2), beef patty ($2.75), and chocolate cake ($4.50). In total, everything totaled around $24. NOTE: This may seem like a lot of food, but I didn't eat it all in one setting. There was plenty of shrimp and they were cooked perfectly - Wonderfully tender, nicely seasoned, and delicious! Served with the rice and peas were a medley of colorful vegetables including carrots, broccoli, onion, green peppers. The rice was just the right consistency and worked really well with the veggies, which were crunchy, fresh, and full of flavor. I loved how hearty the meal was. The only thing I was disappointed about was that there were only 2 plantains included. I thought there would be much more. They were amazing... Slightly sweet, and soft while not being mushy. I was given 2 fried chicken pieces, which were so incredibly crispy with succulent, juicy white meat, and so flavorful! The beef patty was pretty large. It was decent with plenty of beef inside with many warm seasonings. The outside shell was flaky and crumbly. I enjoyed the chocolate cake, especially the rich dark chocolate frosting, which was silky, creamy, and luscious. This was probably my favorite part. I definitely could have had more of that delectable frosting! The chocolate cake was delightfully moist and there was a lighter chocolate mousse in between the 2 layers. Simply mouthwatering! Service is friendly and competent. I like that the menu is fairly extensive. I would certainly return to try more!

Patties are good, the long line is worth the wait lol, the prices are reasonable for today's market ! The coco bread is so soft and taste great

I visited this place a couple of weeks ago while in the area. I ordered a Beef Patty with Coco Bread. The patty was warm and delicious. I think that was the best Beef Patty I've ever eaten. The next time I'm in the area I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. The customer service was pleasant and quick. The restaurant was quiet and a lot of customers were coming in to place orders. I'll share this location with others.

These Patties are only ok. Definitely not the best and a bit dry. Not a patty place I would recommend.

Not sure what is going on here but this WAS my go to restuarant..... they are slowly losing my business...i ALWAYS order soup with NO DUMPLINGS AND NO YAMS.... sometimes there's one as a slip up and I don't mind ... but 4-5 feels like it's being done on purpose... if they don't get this together I have to sadly leave them alone... also the extra gravy is becoming a thing.... meaning NO GRAVY!!!! I'm very disappointed.... hopefully one of the owners will see this and get in touch with me asap

Searching through UberEats trying to find something to eat for lunch and order from here as a last minute decision. These people should be ashamed of themselves to be a Caribbean restaurant & yet don't know how to make Rasta pasta. Or better yet it was my fault for not cooking & bringing lunch. I ordered shrimp Rasta pasta & what I got was a huge portion of pasta with some creamy sauce which tasted like it came from a jar & some itty bitty ready to eat shrimp that looked like it came from the supermarket smh. My coworker came up to me and asked if I was eating macaroni & cheese. I was so upset I just threw everything in the garbage. Never again!!! I don't even think I want to explore anything else on their menu. Ugh just Disgusting!!!

We came here after the West Indian Day/Labor day parade and we were so pleased that the food was good! It gave us a great recharge for our drive back to NJ. We ordered two medium curry goat and it was very tender and perfectly seasoned. We were also pleased to have been given such gracious portions. I may have found yet another Jamaican spot in Brooklyn now! What caught my attention of this place was their Drink menu, they serve an Irish Moss drink, I will have to come back to try it!

I am very sorry to say that I am done with this Buff Patty! I use to love this place because the food is pretty good. I never imagined that I would open up my food, only to see teeth marks in my dumpling. I have ordered this dish many times before, so I know what my food is supposed to look like. Just disgusting!

I love this place. Good Turkey wings, curry chicken, rice & peas, chicken soup, red pea soup (their stew peas is great but I can't get it anymore bcs chicken feet scare the hell out of me).

I stopped at this place after class last week and was a bit nervous about ordering since their in person menu was not very clear. I saw the 3 star rating but it was also very close to my campus so I decided to try it anyways. I got 3 patties, beef, spinach & cheese, and chicken. The patties were warm, cheap and served very very quickly! I was in and out in about 10 minutes, maybe less! I ate one on my way back to my dorm and saved the other two for later. They weren't the best patties I'd ever had, they had great texture but were very mild and I wish they had had more spice, but for the price they were absolutely worth it.

I think restaurants like this probably start of well then slack off cut corners cause the ly have a customer base. Ordered large Curry Goat & large Chicken soup 4/13/23, it might as well be white rice n curry bone cause all bone, the soup was a large broth with small piece of Irish potato & yam, the chicken was lost, they didn't catch it to put in the pot. Definitely not value for money.

As a person that has worked in customer service most of my career, it baffles me when I experience deplorable mistreatment. When I initially walked in, everything was fine, I was told that one part of my order wasn't ready. No problem, I had to pick up other items nearby so I can completed my errands. When I got back, the young counter woman that gave me my food acted as if I asked her to cooked it over again. I mean, her demeanor was so off, I had to think if we had met before and had some kind of beef I didn't remember. Suffice to say, I will not be going back to this location.

I am sooooooo sick and tired of Buff Patty under serving dishes. If you order a chicken roti you get a bag of potatoes and carrots wrapped up...if you ask for extra chicken you get a sack of potatoes...never ever any chicken. If you orders curry anything or jerk anything...all you get is a bag of dry rice...I recommended anyone who has a real and passion for Jamaican food....TRAVEL OUTSIDE. TRY ALY'S TRY PEPPERS TRY ANYTHING ELSE BESIDES "BUFF PATTY"

Don't bother ordering from here! Your food will come not sealed or closed properly. Rice was soggy little to no meat what a waist of money.

I haven't had as good a beef patty since they closed the Mom & Pop shop I used to go to on Boston Post Rd. in the Bronx back in the late 90s. It's been a long time my little beef patty/coca bread. C'mere you! I also really enjoyed the counter staff. So refreshing to not encounter the lackadaisical service you get at every Golden Krust I've ever stepped foot into. Like they're doing you a favor by giving you a blank stare. I was short on hard currency and was happily told that they take cards even for my small amount. So happy, I padded my order out with an additional patty and their own Buff Patty brand of Sorrel. It was my first time drinking sorrel juice. I basically got it for the ginger, which was nice. The sorrel.... Nope. Not for me. Halfway through it was starting to taste like medicine and make me sweat. Maybe that was it working on me! It's a narrow shop but it's organized and quick with a small seating area in the front. And did I mention friendly??? I will make a point to come back.

I don't have a lot of experience with Jamaican food, but the callaloo with boiled dumplings has entered the pantheon of my favorite comfort foods. The dumplings were dense and were the perfect accompaniment to the spicy greens. The jerk chicken patty was also super flavorful and I'm excited to try the beef! Great spot!

I had the goat with white rice and also oxtails with the peas and rice. So delicious. Couldn't finish it all and the next day it was even better!! Asked for oxtail sauce on the side for more sauciness. Personal preference but so GOOOD.

It is starting to be obvious that the food here is a hit or miss. I usually order the same food (curry goat). What I purchased today was watery and mostly bones and fat (there is no way they do not know this) Just say you don't have any more instead of tryingto stretchit out. I support black owned business but not when they do give quality. it was also lukewarm and I live less than 3 minutes away by car.

Bought their Friday special stew peas. Mostly mushy white rice, 2 peas, 1broken off piece of meat, 1 small piece of cartilage. $10+ I will NEVER go again. Bye bye Felicia ⁉ CLOSE - You are the worst.

So far, I've had the shrimp, chicken, and spicy beef patties w/ coco bread, jerk chick w/rice and peas, and fried chicken w/ rice and peas. All served hot and delicious. Chicken patty is my fav so far. Jerk chicken I'm used to being a dry rub and if asked, jerk sauce on top, but there's is more wet so comes with a lot of gravy which was actually quite appetizing just not what I was used to. No biggie. My only issue so far, is the cashiers would wait to give orders by number, which is fine until your waiting 10mins for a patty because the store is busy. Order is great but I think getting simple orders out the store is even more efficient. Just my 3cents.

Food was pretty good. As I was half way through my meal I noticed half a rubber band in my rice. Nope, never again.

The staff could be a bit on the nicer side, but they do put in their work. Always busy with locals and you should ignore any review under 4 stars. I've eaten there regularly and NEVER had one disappoint. Jerk chicken is always on point. Them patties rock, but they can add up $$$$$

I was a little skeptical based on the reviews which are mixed. Some people like it, some don't and the portions don't always seem to match. I ordered the small oxtail plate and I was very happy with it. The flavor was good and the delivery came at a decent time. However, the portions were not well distributed, I had A LOT of rice, almost to no veggies, and very little oxtail. They can do better with the portion sizing.

I have been to Buff Patty a few times before yesterday. I only get their patties which are so good; nice and flaky crisp on the outside and packed with baked goodness in the middle. The parties go fast so get there before evening. The shrimp party and chicken party are bommmb!!!

I ordered oxtail and a cod fish cake appetizer. They called to let me know they had no cod fish cakes and asked if I wanted a patty instead. I asked how many jerk wings would they be will be willing to substitute instead. The boss got on the phone and said he had cod fish and sent me very old very hard cod fish cakes. I think they can do better. The oxtail were delicious!

I work by Buff Patty's. I love the chicken patties! They are surprisingly spicy and very flavorful. The chicken soup is excellent! Very hearty. Get a medium and you're good to go. The soup has corn on the cob, carrots, potatoes, flour dumplings and yummy herbs. The shrimp patty is also tasty. I tried the fish patty once because that was all they had and it was terrible! The flour is also different, but I forget what it was made of. I also had the oxtail once, but it was pricy. I think the best deals here are the dumplings (not the shrimp one) and the soup. A nice, budget lunch.

My Mom usually enjoy food from this place but not me but I decided to order since I was buying for her and I havenot order in two years when the food was bad back then. but today's Curry Goat was under cooked and not well seasoned at all. Since I order the same meal every time, it was easy to notice that the food was not good today. I'm going to lay off this place forever... My mothers stew chicken was decent but rice was mushy and overcooked

When I found out that they had Jamaican beef patties and soup I got really excited until I opened up the cap to my soup and there was hair is all in the inside of my soup

I called the restaurant to ask if they had breakfast left and their answer was yes. I proceeded to place the order through Uber eats and when I received it I was shocked. The plate was half empty and looked like the restaurant took left over scraps from other patrons to make this "dish". We called the restaurant to inquire about what happened and the man (I use that term loosely)on the phone proceeded to act a complete fool. When we said we ordered red bean soup he goes "yeah ..I know..we didn't have that so we sent cow foot or chicken soup". Never did it cross his mind to call us and tell us he didn't have what we ordered. He then proceeded to say if you don't like it then don't drink it! I'm definitely no longer ordering from this dump.

After reading the reviews here, and seeing that this place was 2 blocks from my current residence, *and* considering Jamaican beef patties are some of my favorite foods, I was super excited to try this place out. Finally! An authentic beef patty! Not Golden Krust. Not the frozen Thousand Isle patties that I buy by the dozen at the grocery store when no other beef patty options are available. Well, I'm sad to report that the beef patties here really aren't that good at all. The outside is mushy and soggy, not flakey. The filling has far too much pepper (and this is coming from someone who puts ridiculous amounts of pepper on pretty much *everything*) Although I'm usually not a big fan of over-filled beef patties (I much prefer the dough to meat ratio to be proportionate in a way that neither one is overpowering), still I found less filling than I've seen in any other patty - including Golden Krust, and even Tower Isles. For some reason, the photo I took makes it look far more filled than it actually is. And, although I'm not a connoisseur in the ways that beef patties are made exactly (not sure if they're fried or baked) they almost taste like they were over-baked. The overall product tasting dry. I think my biggest complaint is that the beef patty was sweet. I couldn't tell if it was the meat or the dough, but it didn't mesh well with the large amounts of pepper. And quite honestly, when I'm craving something sweet-tasting, beef is the last thing on my mind. The price was decent, I believe around $1.65 per patty + tax, but I honestly don't find it worth it. And contrary to what another reviewer stated, the staff here is *incredibly* sweet and helpful. I actually really, really want to like this place. So much so, that I'll probably be back to try something else on the menu in an attempt to increase my rating.

I went here with my fiancé. I must say their patties are absolutely amazing. I ordered the jerk chicken and my fiancé had the beef pattie. They workers were extremely friendly. The patties taste very fresh, light and flaky. Definitely wish they were closer to me!

Wasn't what expected my brother told me about it order a shrimp rotti must of been four shrimps with tons of potatoes don't cheat the people as if they don't know

Their Roti is LOADED with potatoes and a small amount of meat and I was charged $20.00 for a small side order of oxtails; in addition to the food being less than seasoned. It cost me $32.00 to know I will NEVER patronized this establishment...smh poorly black owned.

Some of the best patties in Brooklyn. I always stop by when I can. Only thing is the patties sell out fast sometimes. Also could use more veggie patty options.

Buff patty has really good authentic food. One of my favorites is the Oxtails with extra gravy on the rice and peas. The stew chicken is my second favorite dish. The patties are also good.

Don't do it! I repeat, don't do it! They will take advantage of you you by over charging or shrinking serving sizes, but one way or the other, you will get the short end of the stick. Brooklyn is filled with patty shops. Patronize their honest, fair-minded competitor.

Hello good day I made the mistake of going to a place that specializes in patties for some rasta pasta because the rasta pasta definitely was not the specialty and I wasted $14 on chicken rasta pasta and if I was to bring it back and say I don't like it I would have just probably heard some ignorant comment about how I already took it out and how old I already had it out and it's already too late and blah blah so it's my loss I might as well have taken that $14 and shoved It Up George Costanza's ass

I had the chance to visit this establishment on August 14, 2019 and it looked like a hole in the wall which was not a good thing. I had 3 beff patty which were hot, spicy, flaky and very tasty. The beef patties reminded me of Tastiees. As for the rest of the food that i ordered, it was tasteless, it was flavorless, i got more bones that meat. The services was horrible. The staff seem like they didn't know what customers services is. If you are going for the PATTIES great but be forth warned you eat more patties that their food.

The rice was mushy and tasted strictly like pepper, the turkey wings was dry and they chopped one wing into three pieces for 20 sumthin dollars. First they gave me the wrong order then I noticed I paid for two juices and when I got home there was only 1.I was highly disappointed. I drove all the way from Manhattan on my lunch break to try this food, never again!

I like the Jerk Chicken very much. Ackee and Saltfish and the Curry Goat is very nice too. For me it has always been a friendly and inviting place.

I Wish I Could Give Zero Stars. This Place Is Horrid. I Ordered The Oxtails With Rice And Peas, Cabbage And Plantains. First Off The Food Was Cold, And The Oxtails Were Flavorless, Fatty And The Gravy Was Like Water. Among Other Things After Eating The Food I Was In The Bathroom 30 Minutes Later With Possible Food Poisoning. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!
