Buffalo Dining Club has such a cool design and vibe. The pasta was fresh and full of flavor. you can really taste the quality. Perfect spot for a casual but special night out. Will definitely be back!

Love the BDC vibes for 15 years now and still has the original hole in the wall European atmosphere. Marcello and Pete are fantastic hosts.

Google
One word - delicious. Starters were all incredibly tasty, especially the potato scallops. The cacio pepe is a must, and so is the prawn rigatoni - we wanted to mop up that sauce with bread! Will definitely be coming back for more and would highly recommend!

Google
While roaming Sydney on a solo trip, I decided to look for a good Italian dinner and happened across the reviews for this gem of a restaurant. I popped in without a reservation, but the staff quickly sat me and was very attentive. I ordered the cacio e pepe, because who doesn't want their pasta stirred around atop a giant cheese wheel. The quality of the pasta and the exquisite flavors rivaled anything I've had in Rome or tuscany for that matter. It paired quite well with the Grenache. I got the passion fruit sorbet for dessert and it was quite a treat. That happened to pair well with a Barbera. Overall the experience was incredible, the staff was very friendly, and the food was delicious. If you're still thinking about it, just go and give it a try.

Google
Definitely a ‘must go’ for Italian/pasta lovers across Sydney. The place itself is actually really small with around 10 tables (at least that we could see). With that said, it doesn’t feel cramped at all, so the atmosphere is nice. As far as the food is concerned, absolutely on point. Some the best I have had. The menu is small, but every dish seems to have been perfected. Yes, they also serve the pasta directly from a cheese wheel. The staff were also really friendly. Perfect score.

If you like cheese then you'll like Buffalo Dining Club. Good, hearty italian dishes with plenty of cheese. The guys in-house are casual but very attentive. The wine selection isn't large but what is there is nice.

I've been here few times. Always friendly service and nice food. It's very nice to be here to have a quick drink or break. Small plates are always good. Wine is also nice. Especially staff service is always good and cool 😎!! I was happy here. 😊 Strongly recommend you to be here.

My best friend and I came here last night and the food was incredible. The staff were freaking amazing and the atmosphere was such a vibe. We ordered the zucchini flower for entree and the Spaghetti Cacio É Pepe for our mains. We can’t wait to return again!!!!!

Yelp
Have you ever had your pasta twirled in a giant wheel of cheese before it hits your plate? It's called cacio e pepe, it's at Buffalo Dining Club in Darlinghurst in Sydney, Australia, and it's heavenly. I was first alerted to this momentous dining experience by an American friend who sent me a video of the action. I went to try it on a Saturday night. The spot doesn't take reservations, except for parties of seven or more and on the last Sunday of every month, and it was already packed with a two-hour wait by the time I walked up. With timely obligations, I had to leave but vowed to come back again. It turns out, Buffalo Dining Club is a perfect place to visit for lunch on a Wednesday, around 12:30 p.m. There were plenty of seats, though be warned much of it is communal in this hip restaurant that seats around 50 people altogether. If you're a twosome on the patio, chances are good you'll be rubbing elbows with your neighbor, and a substantial long table takes up much of the space in the dining room. Cheese lovers will adore Buffalo Dining Club, which imports mozzarella from Italy and has an amazing burrata appetizer ($22 AUD). The giant hunk is melt-in-your-mouth goodness with every bite. The cacio e pepe ($20), or spaghetti with salt, pepper, olive oil and parsley twirled in a massive wheel of pecorino cheese, is gooey and flavour-packed. The show is even better, as a server flashily spins the pasta for amazed eyes. The gnocchi ($20) is also top-notch, delightful pillows of buffalo ricotta dough with napolitana sauce. Getting the items mentioned and sharing makes for a perfect meal for two. The restaurant has an extensive selection of wine to pair with your Italian meal, plus strong and tasty handcrafted cocktails made with fresh ingredients. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is bustling, and the food is delicious. As raved about online and having garnered attention worldwide, Buffalo Dining Club is a worthy dining destination.

Yelp
*Warning: the menu was simple; mostly cheese, prosciutto, and sides, not much protein at all. The whole point of coming here was to try their signature pasta dish: CACIO E PEPE! Though it was obviously not as good as Rome, it was pretty delightful in its own unique way. The al dente pasta was twirled in a giant wheel of pecorino cheese, table-side! Then I was able to enhance it with the house-made pepper jam (provided at the table). We also tried the house salad (fresh and well-dressed) and San Daniele prosciutto ribbons, while sipping some crisp Pinot Grigio - all good complements to the heavy pasta. Overall, my sisters and I enjoyed our carb lunch al fresco that day!

Yelp
The restaurant is overrated. Came here for the famous pasta cooked in cheese wheel dish and was very disappointed. The tables were small and cramped and close together. The couple next to us arrived at around the same time as us. The waiter served both of us at the same time! He went through the menu with both our groups at the same time. The couple next to us ordered exactly the same dishes as us. When the infamous pasta in cheese wheel came out, the waiter had both servings of the pasta in one cheese wheel!! The staff proceeded to mix it around in front of us and dished half in the couples' serving bowl, and half into our bowl! The second pasta dish arrived at the same time as the other couples', so obviously they had been cooked together and then divided. I did not come to a restaurant to be served out of some communal dishes. The pasta in the cheese wheel was tasteless. It was seasoned with olive oil, pepper, parmesan. It was very bland and there was no meat or vegetables. Would not return.

Yelp
Buffalo Dining Club was recommended to us by a local and it just so happened to be in Darlinghurst, the neighborhood we were staying in! We'd passed by unknowingly a few times Friday/Saturday where it was seriously POPPIN'. Music, people, etc. through the night! Came to find that they're only open Wednesday - Saturday. We finally stopped in and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't that crowded around 7:30 -- it was a Wednesday though! They are known for their mozzarella, and BDC did not disappoint on the front. We ordered the cheese w/ 2 sides (zucchini fritters + brussels sprouts). This dish was amazing! Came with a few slices of bread and a tiny bit of a delicious spicy spread/jam. For my main, I had the cacio e pepe, a dish I have seriously fond memories of eating during my days in Rome. BDC serves it in a giant cheese wheel, which is a fun sight/experience, but honestly the execution here makes the dish a bit dry. The chilli jam they serve complimentary helped bring moisture back and the spicy kick was actually perfect paired with the cheesy pasta dish. My friend had the gnocchi, which was pretty good since it was tomato sauce based. They have a pretty good wine selection too. Overall, I think if you decide to stop in to Buffalo Dining Club, come in for the mozzarella! I would suggest ordering something other than the cacio e pepe, even though the giant cheese wheel sight is tempting! [37/100]

Yelp
Delicious food, knowledgable staff and great ambience! This italian restaurant don't serve pizzas, they are specialized in cheese (which come with two sides) and pastas (3 choices). The food was delicious and it is really a piece of Italy in the middle of the city with the mozzarella bar (burrata (milky), scarmoza (smoked) and others). The cheese plate is 22$ and comes with 2 sides of your choice. The main (pasta) is 20$, the gnocchis are delicious (made with ricotta) and they made pastas served from the pecorino wheel !! The homemade chili is also really good. They don't take bookings so you will be on a waiting list in you are not lucky enough and you will receive a text when your table is ready. All in all - a gem amidst Sydney's food scene!
google avatar

Yelp
I love this restaurant, it has a simple menu that is always on point. The burrata cheese $20 with 2 sides of your choice was creamy and delicious. You can choose to add any other accompaniments for an extra $6 each. We opted to share the sausage ragu for a main with a side of the house made chilli. The chilli was so good I had to buy a bottle on the way out. On other visits I have had the potato gnocchi that is also really good, soft potato pillows with a decadent tomato sauce. And you can't not try the spaghetti that arrives at your table in a rather large wheel of pecorino cheese!!! Whatever you order you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
The minute you arrive you'll know you made the right choice... If you can endure the 1 hour wait. The host will graciously take your number and call you (we got a drink at a popup bar around the corner called The Chalet and loved it - great wing appetizer too ;) caprese salad is probably the best I've had... The mozzarella is clearly the restaurants namesake for a reason. We got the Jamon which rocked, and there trademark pecorino pasta which they scoop right out of a chunk of cheese bigger than a pickup truck tire. Not a fan of tiramisu but loved it ;) I'd give these guys 5 stars for don't make a mistake and go somewhere else particularly if you're just visiting town like us!

Yelp
Yelp has never been so useful as it was during my visit to Sydney, and here once again, they steered me right. Buffalo Dining Club only does about three things - cheeses, meats, and pastas - but they do them so absolutely perfectly that I still have to go with five stars for them. We tried a bit of everything, and it was all outstanding. Scamorza cheese was about the most perfect mozzarella-type fare I've ever eaten, the prosciutto was the perfect complement, and my main dish of ricotta gnocchi was so fresh and so good that I was smiling just thinking about it the next day. Decor is neat - an intimate/romantic atmosphere caused by it basically being a single apartment converted into a cafe, and the food is right on the border of being too simple to be considered a full sit-down restaurant. But what do you want, straw man Yelper? Do you want a place that has 50 dishes and only some of them are good, or do you want a place like this where it's super simple and everything is perfect? Straight up perfect food can make up for a lot, but luckily this place doesn't need to make up for anything in particular. I'll be back next chance I get. Which is probably some time in the 2030s, but I'll remember this one until then.

Yelp
The perfect storm. Small, like someone's extended-out little kitchen. Super-boss waiter wearing friendliness like fake tan. Spaghetti served from a wheel of cheese. Secret home-made chilli sauce that they won't tell you the ingredients of. White anchovies piled up in delicious little mounds. Cured meats. Cheeses that will drive you to the brink of insanity. *whispered repetition* The perfect storm...

Yelp
Pasta/cheese/cold meat/general food-heaven As everyone's pointed out the Cacio E Pepe is amazing (I have inappropriate feelings for that pasta) but the ragu and gnocchi is just as good. Infact, everything is good on their small blackboard menu, not a figure of speech, literally everything is delicious it's almost frustrating. Because of their size, they don't take bookings and is not exactly large group friendly. However they are more than happy to take your name and number down so you can go to any of the cool surrounding bars for pre-drinks and they'll buzz you when your table is ready. All the staff are super duper friendly it's almost confusing. The only thing that could make this place even better (HINT HINT) is if they serve their wine in carafes/half bottles because I always get the same wine (the Argentinian Malbec, you're welcome).

Yelp
So a couple of things: 1. They don't take bookings which is really annoying. However I knew that when I turned up so I was fine to wait until a table became available. We had to wait an hour (gah!) but the service was excellent once we did get in. If you're turning up at 7 then you'll have to wait a little while, so just be aware. If they took booking this would hands down be a 5 star review from me. 2. As I said the service is great! Lovely and friendly waiters and waitresses 3. Most importantly the food - so so good! I really cannot get over how good the food was. I raves about it to absolutely everyone. That burrata is what dreams are made of. Overall it is such a great restaurant and I am already planning to go back as soon as possible.

Yelp
Excellent table service and very informative waiter. This place is worth the visit even if it's just for the wine! A small but big enough menu on the blackboard explained in detail. We started with smoky cheese eggplant and pecorino & Spanish olives that tasted sweet but savoury! Very new experience. Pasta is served out of a round of Parmesan cheese & they get you to scrape it off the serving tongs for extra flavour! Intimate dining with tables set very close together, after a few drinks around the tables everyone starts to interact and socialise. Fantastic concept, my only complaint was the serving sizes are a little small.

Yelp
Restaurant Staff Get-up of the Year: Buffalo Dining Club. These guys are just aching cool. Slicked hair, tatts and Italian charisma down-pat. Modern day Danny Zukos, at your service. The menu? Little breadth and all depth. Beautiful mozzarella antipasti, 3 or 4 simple pasta dishes and a few desserts, are chalked on the board. The menu is small but they nail it. Its delightfully cosy and rustic inside and the choice in music is rad. Take a date, but arrive early. Order the cacio e pepe for a show.

Yelp
Just finished up at the Yelp Blogging event, it was late and I needed some dinner. I was lucky enough to get a parking spot nearby. I was stoked to see that buffalo dining room was still open and that they do take away. The staff were full on hipster with slick hair and service to match. Lucky this was the case, as I parked in a spot with 15 minutes free. I have eaten at this restauraunt a few times and know they put out good Italian food. I ordered the pork and fennel sausage tuscan ragu with rigatoni pasta, with chilli on the side. I was wandering if the food would taste as good take away. Suprisingly the food was just as good, which is not usually the case. The pasta was cooked aldentè, the pork fennel sausage had plenty of flavour with good spice. A popular little restaurant with great food, if you can get in. If not, don't worry. Just grab some take away.

Yelp
Disclaimers: I've only been living for 30 years, and I've never been to Italy, but I have NEVER had better pasta in my life. If you ever make it to Darlinghurst Sydney, make it your business to eat here. First, the staff is great. We were a walk-in, but the server was super accommodating, and promised us a table when a group finished up. He even apologized because they unexpectedly ordered dessert, lol. Second, we ordered cacio e pepe, because DUH! They serve it out of a Parmesan cheese wheel! We also ordered the buffalo gnocchi. Oh. My. Sweet. Baby. Krishna. I have never had so much deliciousness in one bite. The creamy mozzarella gnocchi and flavorful, but not overpowering red sauce. Ugh. I was totally the, "I'll have what she's having." girl at the table. The cacio e pepe was also delicious. Fresh pasta, black cracked pepper, cheese. Heaven. I could have eaten at that restaurant everyday that we were in Darlinghurst. But then I would be 10 pounds heavier. Oh, there's no menu. You order by looking on the wall inside the restaurant. If it's hard for you to see, the staff is super nice and will recite everything for you. :) Thank you, Buffalo Dining Club!! (closed on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays)

Yelp
Me and my girl visited the Club just now. The Cacio e Pepe was excellent and the French Rose' was lovely. Their chilli sauce was also amazing, went great with the dishes. We was sitting outdoor table for two which was perfect if you actually enjoy a good conversation. There's music indoor which can be great for bigger groups to chillax. The staffs were warm and friendly. Really nothing to complain about. Would come again and recommend to my friends:)

Yelp
Arrived here with my boyfriend and a friend at 5pm on Saturday in order to make sure we could get a table. The reviews are right--this place really is tiny, and I'm sure that coming any later on a weekend is a gamble. We had a bottle of wine, buffalo mozzarella (comes with two sides--do yourself a favour and get the zucchini fritters), cacio e peppe (do yourself a favour and just east this as often as humanly possible, seriously friends) and "salad" (mozzarella with some seeds) for $120, of which the wine was half the tab. Is the service amazing? Not really. Is the food going to change your life? Probably not. BUT if you want access to as much cheese as your stomach, heart and brain can possibly handle served to you in a snazzy, stylish, oh-so-Sydney setting (we sat next to a semi famous radio presenter whose face you see on bus ads), you're going to want to come here. Just make sure you arrive early, and hungry!

Yelp
How could anyone even contemplate veganism when restaurants like this exist for the tasting? This restaurant is known and named for their buffalo mozzarella and holy hell is it heavenly. This place is an absolute must try! Their located easily off victoria st, at night it just appears as one apartment looks more rowdier than the rest. Famed for no reservations, you gotta turn up and wait. Our wait time was 1 hour, they record your name and mobile and text you when your table is ready. Leaving us free to roam about within walking distance for some bars for pre dinner drinkies. I'm happy to wait if I feel it's worth it and this totally was. They shut at 11pm, so upon return we were 30mins late behind confirmation text, they were able to seat us straight away still. This restaurant is so small but they an upstairs too. The only paper menu was the drinks menu which is all alcohol. The food menu was written on a blackboard on the wall. Which was divided up as mozzarella, prosciutto, sides, salads and pasta. Apparently you choose a mozzarella plus two sides and a pasta as the standard ordering template. We didn't mind because the choices were delish. Honestly sometimes you just prefer this simplistic menu choices because if a restaurant specialise in a particular product that they'll advertise themselves over it, then you know that's the dish you must try and you can trust them to have done it right. In the end we choose buffalo mozzarella (the absolute best!) with sides of chorizo & bussel sprouts and sweet potato & artichoke chips. Plus 90g prosciutto san danielle. Then for pasta we got the cacio e pepe which is like spaghetti with salt, pepper, olive oil and parsley in a pecorino cheese wheel, which they wheel out of the cheese in front of you. Those arms girl, must be strong. Also the other pasta dish was the Tuscan sausage ragu. They also provided a jar full of a chilli sauce concoction which you could apply to the pastas. I gave that jar a wide berth but my partner piled that thing into his ragu, apparently it was delicious. I'll take his word for it...argh chilli freak. This restaurant was worth all the time spent traversing there and then waiting around the area for, we loved it. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I don't know why I didn't write this sooner! We stumbled across this place while on vacation - I was craving pasta. Looked at the menu & they had pasta that is served out of a cheese wheel tableside!! OMG - Sold! It was delicious & loved the presentation. Wish we had one near us in CA!

Yelp
Sometimes there are some places that I find highly overrated...and buffalo dining club is definitely one of them. I live 2min away and have been there twice - the place is always packed...but I genuinely think there are many other better options in the neighbourhood ! First, I find the service really poor. True, The kitchen is small and the restaurant is cramped giving the staff a hard time to move around...but it has been so hard to catch anyone's attention throughout the dinner (there were 7 of us right in the middle of the ground floor room so hard to miss...). I really find that annoying. We ordered the banquet (50$) that gives you a bit of everything in the antipasto and pasta. It is not worth the money - you would be better off ordering a la Carte ! As for the food... Entee: The jamon is delicious, but all the other antipasto I found quite blend ! Pasta: gnocchi were my favourite with the fresh tomato sauce - simple and elegant. The cacio e Pepe (spaghetti served in the cheese) are to be tried of course as it is unusual but I think it lacks seasoning and flavour if you are not into chili and add there homemade paste (my case) As for dessert the tiramisu was not even included in the banquet (we still ordered some) and got some fried dough balls with lemon curd (I really did not like that) The restaurant is super loud and all tables are super close to one another so do not expect an easy conversation. As a group you cannot talk if you are more than 5. But this hustle is part of the charm I guess. Anyway I love Italian food but would definitely not put buffalo dining club in my top Italian restaurant in Sydney... And yesterday was the last time I will go there

Yelp
I'm not afraid to admit it. I sometimes dream of cheese. Pale, gooey parcels of creamy deliciousness....mmm....heaven. In fact, I'd go so far as to say my last meal would be cheese. So, when I heard the man behind Table for 20 and Sticky Bar, Michael Fantuz, had teamed up with Marcelo Garrao and Peter Kypreos and turned his mind to a restaurant/wine bar focusing on cheese (and not just any cheese, we're talking Buffalo Mozzarella, flown in three times a week direct from Italia itself), I just knew this would be my kind of place. The Buffalo Dining Club opened in January 2012, tucked away at the old Bugerman site in Darlinghurst. It's a two level affair, with a dining room upstairs, and more of a bar set up downstairs. The place is on the cosy side, with a blackboard menu, dark walls and exposed lights hanging from the ceiling. It's warm and welcoming and not at all pretentious. Mr S and I arrive this Thursday evening, early enough to secure a prize table downstairs. We are greeted by the man himself, who ensures we are well looked after, as he does with all of his customers. Michael suggests we start with a Spritzer. We are easily convinced. Turns out this is a Venetian Spritz - a refreshingly bitter, sparkling nectar which goes down a treat. The wine list is reasonably priced, from the super cheap 500ml carafe at $20, to a few good bottles around the $40-$60 mark. We decide on a local Pinot, turns out it's made by Michael's godfather. Michael delivers to us a passionate description of his blackboard menu. Just listening to him talk about the food makes our mouths water and his excitement rubs off on us. You order your Mozzarella centerpiece with your choice of two sides. This is indeed the stuff dreams are made of, and we quickly forget about the carbon footprint left by our beloved balls of Mozzarella to make their way onto our plates. Or, you might prefer to try my favourite - Burrata, made from a solid Mozzarella outer layer, with an inside of Mozarella mixed with cream....mmm....I still dream about a Burrata and fig entree I had some years ago. After our well placed recommendations, we decide to share a Mozzarella, a Buratta, and 4 sides, as well as 30 grams of San Danielle (an Italian ham). Our sides are: Polenta & Gorgonzola Roasted Pumpkin with Spelt and Rocket Grilled Brocollini Potato Croquette When our food arrives, on mis-matched plates, Mr S and I proceed to share our meals, strategically halving each item on our plate, and passing it over to the others plate. This is what food is all about, sharing it with good company. Be sure to leave enough room at the end of your meal for the house-made gelato, it would be a crime to miss that. Next time, I'll be trying a pasta dish. We enviously watched Michael theatrically preparing his 'poor mans' pasta for other tables. Good to have an excuse to return. You'll want to arrive early, as they have a no bookings policy and spaces fill quickly. Rightly so, you'll guard your prized position, and your cheese, with your life. Following in Table for 20s footsteps, this is good quality food and service, without the price tag. A welcome addition to the Darlinghurst dining scene.

Yelp
It's not even tough for me to make this sweeping call - this is the best traditional Italian cuisine I've had in Sydney. Easily. Starting with antipasti of cured meats and burrata and buffalo mozzarella that practically exploded in oozey, milky goodness when touched with a knife, the plot thickened with the punch-me-in-the-face good gnocchi, made even better by an amble dose of their secret homemade chili sauce. And of course, the show stopping spaghetti cacio e pepe served straight out of a wheel of cheese. We were here for lunch and thus missed any and all forms of waiting. We had a table right away, and the food was perfectly timed - the next dish arriving just after we had finished the first. It's a pinch of a venue, so it seems we got very lucky today, even at 1:30pm. Furthermore, the staff were so friendly and helpful we could have easily lounged at our table until we were hungry again for dinner. We didn't get to those zucchini flowers...

Yelp
I have heard about this place so many times! It seems like there is a hype about BDC. Some people waiting for a table for a bigger group told us that they were waiting for over 40min...now I know it's not worth that much of your time. There was just two of us and they found table for us in 10min. It is a nice cosy place, with limited menu (which sometimes can be a good thing). There is unfortunately nothing interesting about their pasta (sorry guys, even I can do it better) and I honestly doubt if they would ever be successful anywhere in Europe. I am kind of surprised that they are kind of a thing even in Sydney, as Chester White is making million times better job.

Yelp
Pasta served out of a bowl of cheese...how can you go wrong?!? Seriously, this place is a wine and cheese lovers DREAM. I'll admit, I'm not even the biggest cheese fan (as in I don't like all types of cheese, but I really like the ones I do like. Catch my drift?) Lucky for me, buffalo mozzarella falls under the 'not just like, but love' category. The Hubs and I went here for dinner after work. We're that couple that are usually the first in a restaurant for dinner at 5:30 because we go straight from work, but we definitely weren't the first ones at Buffalo Dining Club. In fact, I'd say more than half of the tables were gone by the time we arrived. It's a popular spot, and it's only small so get in early to get a table. Also, the portions aren't huge, so it could get pricey depending on how big of an eater you are. For me, it was the perfect amount. For the Hubs though, upon leaving he requested Gelato. And with Gelato Messina nearby....well that's another Yelp review ;)

Yelp
Wow! Small place with big taste and great server help. I have dietary limits and the server did a superb job leading us around my issue and straight into an incredible meal. The Njuda with grilled bread warmed us up from the inside out. We wished we had ordered two! My husband ordered the mozzarella gnocchi with napoliana sauce- tender and delicious. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe- perfect! It was just like we have in Provence! We also shared a rocket salad- adding delicious veggies to heavier mains. There wasn't a model left on any plate! Thank you for an incredible meal- our last in Sydney!

Yelp
One of the nice places in my dearest Darlinghurst area... Good value for money and nice Italian food. I highly recommend to have Jamon Iberico and Caprese pasta (cooked and served directly from the cheese). Mozzarella is not the best I had (Obica Mozarella Bar in Roma is far ahead) but still worth it. Tiramisu is a bit disappointing. 3 stars only because the place does not really deserve such a big buzz.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the food here. I'd give it 5 stars, but I hate waiting an hour for a table (no bookings here), and it was a little loud and claustrophobic for my liking. BUT, the food, and the cheese.... that's why you go here. We had the mozzarella, with the potato croquettes and artichoke hearts, with a side of the jamon. When my partner ordered a $20 side of spaghetti, I got a little grumpy... I mean, $20??? But the Cacio E Pepe was AMAZING. If I wanted to get fat(ter), I would eat this every day! Washed it all down with a nice glass of Malbec. Service was great. I thought that surely being a trendy Darlinghurst joint, that it would be the typical "I dont give a crap" Sydney service. But I was again, proven wrong. The guys were friendly, knowledgeable, and timing was perfect. I will be back for sure.

Yelp
The gnocchi is always my absolute favourite! Closely followed by the spaghetti spun in the cheese and also the sides of meats and cheeses, but I always manage to arrive at the wrong time when the wait for food is too long so I can't eat there as much as I'd like to. Lovely staff though, my first meal in my new place was their pasta (take away) and I didn't have cutlery at home yet & they didn't have disposables so they sent me off with some of their silverware which was very sweet of them :)

This is my second time here and I love it every bit as much as the first time! This place does not take reservations so if you want a spot- get here early! We arrived at 6.30 on a Saturday as a party of two. We stood outside in line with a bunch of other hungry folk waiting to put our names on the waiting list. Luckily we only had to wait 10 mins before getting a table. However groups of four were being told there was a wait time of an hour and half! The place is small with only a handful of tables. The place was packed and lively with a great buzz. The menu was on a blackboard on the wall with the star being the different cheeses on offer. 4 different cheeses were available, most of which I had not heard of. You were able to choose a cheese an then two sides for $19! Sides included honey baby carrot, potato or pumpkin croquettes, tempura cauliflower.. and many more! We opted for a burrata cheese with potato croquette and cherry tomatoes. We also ordered Jamon Iberico which came in 30 g 60 g or 90g and the cacio e pepe pasta. The food was amazing and could not be faulted. There were also great options for wine drinkers with good selections for both red or white. However if you were a beer drink you only had a Trumer Pilsner or "light beer" to select from. All in all this is a great place, with great food and atmosphere, not to mention the service was outstanding!

Yelp
Easily my FAVORITE Italian spot in Sydney. Not only is the food 5 out of 5 stars but I'd rate the service just as well. Menu highlights include 2-3 different melt in your mouth mozzarellas, divine cured meats, side dishes to compliment your cheese adventure, and several fabulously fresh pasta mains. My favorites include: Starters - Burrata mozzerella (get the original buffalo mozzarella if it's your first time and then come back and get their Burrata, or get both!), and the prosciutto is bomb. Sides - Broccolini, mushrooms, croquettes, and make sure to have it with the spicy chutney Pasta - Cacio e pepe, which is served out of a cheese wheel, is heavenly. It's designed to keep you thirsty and the wine flowing. The gnocchi is a close 2nd in my books and a great option if you want something hearty. If you're unsure of where to start, ask your hot waiter for suggestions, they are brilliant at throwing something together. The waiters are playful and attentive, and speak with passion about their menu which undoubtedly heightens the overall experience. The inside is warm and cozy (read: romantico), but I've never had to wait long to be seated. I've always played it safe by arriving early, but if there is a wait they will put you on the list and will ring you when the table is ready. Not sure if you can ask for more when you've got a chill spot to share a couple bottles of wine and delicious Italian grub with friends.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our meal here! All the cheeses, meats, sides and pastas were great - and you can't go past the fun of the pasta being served from the giant wheel of Parmesan. The menu structure is a little odd - it's almost like a set menu from which you choose A or B (or both) but I actually really enjoyed it and it made for a great shared meal. It ended up being very reasonably priced too. The staff were great, but unfortunately you can't book so end up having to wait for a table... But it's definitely worth it!

Yelp
Be prepared to wait for at least an hour if you get there at any normal dining hour. We turned up at 7:30 on a Saturday night and had to wait until 9pm, but we heard that this was the place to go if you want italian so we waited. Popping around the corner for a drink, the time flew by and before we knew it we were seated at the bar choosing our dinner. You choose a mozzarella type along with two sides, a salumi and a pasta. The cacio e pepe with the cheese wheel was something we hadn't seen before! Seated at the bar we got to chat with the staff and they were super friendly and happy to explain and give us Melbournites Sydney tips. I'd make this a pit stop if you want good, traditional italian fare.. as long as you don't mind the wai.t

Yelp
Delicious! A very simple, well-executed menu. BDC perfectly captures the idea of selecting only a few items and concentrating on exceptional execution. We had the burrata, mushrooms, carrots, gnocchi and the parmesan pasta. We had about an hour wait so they guided us to their sister-bar "johnny fishbowl" for a few cocktails, and they personally called our bartender when our table was ready - a great system! He mushrooms were fantastic. Burrata was phenomenal - paired with a bit of chorizo, each but was absolutely splendid. The carrots had great flavor, though we would have liked them cooked to slightly less firm. The gnocchi were wonderful - delightful pillows of flavor. Slightly smaller gnocchi may have better balanced the flavors of each bite, but they were delicious regardless. The parmesan pasta was the star! Served at the table out of a wheel of cheese, it was a fantastically fresh dish. 10/10 would order again. Our only issue of the night was the ambient volume. We found ourselves yelling from a foot away. The quality of food more than made up for it, we still highly recommend BDC for dinner.

Yelp
My friends and I are from Perth and have been really looking forward to visiting this restaurant. We went on a Tuesday night as there website insisted that they only accepted walk ins on Monday and Tuesdays ..only to be told by a very rude young waitress who didn't know how to deal with customers that they were booked for over 60 people for the night. We were rudely turned away with half an empty restaurant ( which mind you is smaller then my laundry) and the most sour face I have ever seen on a young girl. Would not recommend to anyone if you are looking for good customer service and nice food .. a big F*** YOU to the Buffalo Dining Club !!

Yelp
Extremely friendly staff, simple, clean flavours & amazing produce. The food took some time & a few items were forgotten, still a good experience. Week night eating.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner after being wowed by the pericona cheese wheel pasta (and a friendly dog dining with his owner on the patio). Cacio e pepe pasta + spicy chili paste is amazing! My boyfriend doesn't opt for pasta too often but this had the perfect mix of fresh and simple ingredients. We ate here weeks ago but after reminiscing about it tonight I decided we had to write a review.

Yelp
Just order it all! I read a piece about this place 6 months ago. I was determined to try it out, ordered the mozzarella with the sprouts and the asparagus. Ordered the famous pasta in a wheel and gnocchi.... we ordered the wine special. One of the best meals of my life. The staff was so friendly and it was simply amazing!!! Bucket list food!!!

Yelp
yum, yum and more yum! Loved it! Crowded and cramped ... but maybe that added to the atmosphere somewhat? A great local little eatery.

Yelp
Really nice place for a date night (though it can be quite loud). The cheese is amazing - especially the burrata.

Yelp
Great place. Confident staff who told us what to order which was good cause my mates an indecisive loser who's still not had sex at the age of 35.

Yelp
I was a little torn between giving Buffalo Dining Club 3 or 4 stars. The food is good, I won't deny that. Is it 4 stars, significantly above average? I don't know. The burrata and buffalo mozzarella were excellent, the prosciutto and bresaola top notch. I hear the salumi is locally produced, but I only found that out after our meal. But those are all... 'pure' products. They're good because they are, and any restaurant that sources well can serve up items of this quality. I hear the gnocchi is excellent, though I didn't try it. I did try the pasta with pepper served out of a wheel of parmesan though. It was good. Unique, light, but... simple. And I think that's a good summary of the food on offer here. Simple, bold, rustic flavours. The service though, is, in my opinion, excellent (and the reason for my fourth star). Good food, excellent service. That's a winning combination in my book.

Yelp
I'll admit that when I first heard of "Buffalo Dining Club," images of delicious, hot, good ol' spicy buffalo wings came to mind. You know - how they do them back home in the American midwest. Yeah, you probably thought the same too, huh? Gosh, I was so wrong. Buffalo Dining Club is all about buffalo - buffalo-milk mozzarella, that is. 3 hungry stomachs were able to nab seats at this relatively new establishment. We left satisfied, already speaking of how we would soon return. Ambiance: -If it weren't for the long queue, you could totally miss this joint off bustling Victoria st. -Small, dark, and urban with downstairs and upstairs tables. Chalkboard and, most likely, changing menu. -Wooden tables, relatively comfy seats, no place to put your purse - so on the ground it goes. -The place could've been in New York. Love it - exposed concrete walls, light bulbs, and all. Food: -They are seriously all about the cheese here - and if you don't order creamy, bouncy, deliciously fresh mozzarella or it's rich, oozing sister, burrata - there's honestly not much else to order. -The menu surrounds these two cheese starlets - and practically everything else just goes hand-in-hand as a pairing. If you choose a cheese, it'll come with two sides. I you want more than that, just keep on adding the goodness on. -We enjoyed mozzarella and burrata with sides of peppers, super soft prosciutto, different types of breads, crunchy bits of finger-like crackers, and lentils. -In addition, we also got spaghetti cacio e pepe - a super simple pasta, scooped lovingly from a large cheese round so that bits of cheese intertwine themselves with the noodles. Can't go wrong. -The house wine is solid here. We ended up ordering two bottles - go for it and you will not be displeased. It's a bold red with earthy undertones. Hit the spot! Service: -Fantastic - I really hope they keep it up! Not only did our servers introduce themselves by name (a pity I can't remember), they also asked for ours. -Food came quickly along with friendly banter and great recommendations. I can't wait to go back and try the gnocchi!

Yelp
Gone way down hill. Food good but nothing special. Terrible service. Waitress did not notice a dirty napkin left on table next to us and sat a couple there without wiping/cleaning table. Forgot half our order and delivered what we ordered to another table. When we went to pay a waitress was standing behind the counter texting on her phone completely ignoring us. Drinks served where flat and when we complained the waitress rolled her eyes and stormed off getting us a new one. Used to be amazing, obviously not as good or popular anymore. Did not have to wait for table

Yelp
Can't say much about this place that the previous reviews haven't already said but this place absolutely deserves all the five star reviews it receives. Amazing good, knowledgeable staff and an amazing dining experience.

Yelp
The food was pretty good but like the Tapas bars price per dish was low but by the time you have your fill you have spent quite a few $$'s

Yelp
Great spot with an exciting vibe. Disappointment that the new item, lamb ragu, was all gone by the time we were seated, but it was no punishment to eat the spaghetti served from a hollowed out bowl of Parmesan cheese. A bit noisy but not so noisy that we couldn't hear one another. Great music. Wonderful starters, including excellent prosciutto, olives, bread and tomatoes. But the best part? Pricing is so reasonable. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Sweet jesus this place is good. The perfect dining experience for lunch. Caprese salad was amazing (would have been better with riper tomatoes) the mozzarella was incredible. Gnocchi perfect, service friendly and attentive. You're in Sydney you need to eat here. I will remember this meal for a long time.

Yelp
This place was a very pleasant surprise on my trip around Sydney. My buddy and I went early in the afternoon for a light dinner. The service was fantastic, Max made us feel very at home. The ambiance was very relaxed, I sort of felt like I was having dinner at a friend's place, and I mean that as a huge compliment. The food was delicious--I had the gnocchi, which was rich without being too heavy. if I ever make it back to Sydney on my travels, which I hope, I'll definitely be going back to Buffalo Dining Club.
