San Antonio City Council Reconsiders Chick-fil-A Ban in Airport | Eater

"This airport barred the chain after reports surfaced about donations to groups with anti-LGBTQ reputations, becoming one of several airports to restrict the company's presence amid the controversy." - Tim Forster

Chick-fil-A Loses Buffalo Airport Deal Because of Anti-LGBTQ Donations | Eater

"Management pulled a planned Chick-fil-A concession from the airport food court after public condemnation, including a statement from New York State Assemblyman Sean Ryan who said a publicly financed facility is not an appropriate venue for the chain. The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority and Delaware North removed the chain from the project amid scrutiny of Chick-fil-A’s history of donating to groups with anti-LGBTQ agendas; reporting cited past WinShape Foundation donations, a reported $1.65 million 2017 gift to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, smaller gifts to a Christian residential home that opposed gay marriage, and support for the Salvation Army. Ryan applauded the decision to drop the restaurant." - Greg Morabito

I have been on the Canadian side before, my first time on the U.S. side. It was beautiful. They are still doing a little more construction to improve it. But me and my family enjoyed it. Amazing

Google
Very nice, clean little airport. I'm active military and this airport is too small to have a official military lounge, so this airport has a non profit lounge that takes donations. It was super nice and a awesome accommodation I didn't even know I was getting...

Google
Incredibly slow security lines. They have the system where the scanners look like a jet engine. Allow an extra 30-45 minutes when an airport has the leidos systems in place. Great system for TSA and the traveller pays for their convenience.

Google
This is a pretty neat airport while being very small, their are some decent restraunts and snack shops too. One of tre downsides about this airport though is that its rental car area is very small and is pretty understaffed with some service stations being out of service even though somebody is in it.

S

Google
Nice airport with excellent car rental options available. Green Parking lot is within walking distance from the terminal and is accessible via a walkway. Free shuttle buses are also available. Directions are very straightforward.

Google
Last time using BUF - have had flights cancelled and all manner of nonsense before. This time arrived 2 minutes late for United baggage checkin - and they denied boarding to us if we wanted to take a checked bag. Any other airport they put a late tag on the bag and they expedite it on to the plane. Not BUF. They must be very short staffed in baggage handling. And no later flights - seems like all the carriers have cut their flights - so we switched to a Southwest flight leaving 8 hours later. Fly into Toronto - more connections and less nonsense like this. Never again.

Naomi Sprung

Google
Really pleasant flying everyone is so helpful and everything in the airport is marked clearly Bathrooms are not super fresh but they have lots of them and rental car and baggage claims are easy to find many moving sidewalks to help Your walk to and from the gate. Lots of good and gift shops.

Cindy

Google
It's an airport I appreciate for not being busy all the time. Upon arrival at Buffalo International Airport, you can exit very quickly. There are two different exits, one upstairs and one downstairs, depending on which airline you use. The security machines for bags and belongings are impressive, resembling a spaceship. Again, due to its lack of busyness, there's usually not a big line to go through. The building has a distinctive architectural style. However, remember that they don't have any shops to grab a bite before security. You can buy some items from vending machines and heat them up in the microwave. There is a barber shop in the airport. Additionally, there are many Buffalo statues welcoming visitors to the airport when arriving by car or bus.

Yelp
We arrived in Buffalo last week and today we are leaving today. When we first arrived, we just breezed through the airport and went to baggage claim. We really didn't get to see what this airport really had to offer. There are 3 departing times for the 7 of us and I get to hang out at the airport for 5 hours. So, today is a great day to venture around the airport to see what they offer. There's a really cute gift shop by TSA check in. Lots of fun stuff. There are a few food options here. The food cost is really expensive here so I'm going to wait to eat. My husband paid 21 bucks for a nasty pizza and a bottle of Dr. Pepper. My son ate one slice of it and cashed it quits. We all tried to eat some of it so we didn't waste it but we couldn't do more than a couple bites. There's a joint called the Marketplace and sammys are running at 15 bucks. The prices are insane. This airport is pretty chill. TSA was super easy to get through. And they were super nice! The gates are easy to get to and there's lots of seating. I appreciate the charge ports for our electronics. It wasn't that bad chillin here for a few hours. It's probably one of the chillest airports we have been to. Can't wait to fly back to Buffalo for another fantastic stay in New York!

Yelp
Sitting in the Buffalo airport eating one of the worst Caesar salad with "chicken" not even 2 oz of dressing is a complete joke!!! When went to counter to request more dressing I was told "we don't have any cause we don't make the salads here" really!!?! You can't stock some PC's of dressing in your concession stand??? With your headquarters in Buffalo you would think you could do better!!' What disappointment

Yelp
One of the most efficient airports I've ever been to. Was through security, got a snack, and at my gate in less than 10-15 minutes. And it's not a fluke. It's always been pretty quick here and one of the reasons I can't move out of Buffalo, I'd miss the airport! Aesthetically, they're working on some bigger updates and projects in the terminals. Bringing in more food and stores soon. I've been coming to this airport since I was a kid and it is always felt the same. All of the staff are super friendly. This is just an easy airport to travel from and I really appreciate having it near home. Oops! They're calling us up to get on the plane. Gonna cut this one short but hey, don't take my word for it. Take a vacation, fly out of Buffalo, and see for yourself. Safe travels!

Yelp
A short flight from Chicago to Buffalo. Buffalo is a smaller airport. It is easy to navigate to find Gates and baggage. I found it clean. Lots of restaurants and businesses.
google avatar

Leslie D.

Yelp
This was such a relaxing little airport to fly into! It appears that it was recently updated, as everything was clean and modern. There are comfortable waiting areas, including a nice lounge outside the terminal. It was a short walk from our gate to baggage claim where the bags were quickly delivered. Lots of shops with Buffalo merchandise for sale in the terminal.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
It was alright. The airport itself from how I experienced it was a simple layout. I didn't feel lost or confused at any point. I mean, other than when TSA pulled my bag for inspection and I had absolutely no idea why. So, when she asked "Anything dangerous or sharp?" I was beside myself... "Umm, certainly nothing dangerous, sharp?(I have no idea, you pulled my bag for some reason, Jess what did you pack that made them pull your bag?) I don't know, I didn't even pack my trimmers so maybe a pen?" I guess there wasn't anything at all since she returned my bag after opening an antique box more than once, not carefully I may add and the bottom of the box blew out a bit. Anyway, I'll be back because this is the airport that suits where I am going. I will simply prepare for the bag pull everytime since they may pull them for absolutely no reason apart from umm because they can?

Yelp
I love our airport. We are very spoiled with small wait times, great spots to have a drink and eat. No crazy trolleys or long walks to gates. Yes nothing complain about here.
google avatar

Susan S.

Yelp
Although short-term parking *is* expensive, in winter in Buffalo it's a worthwhile luxury: Valet parking means never having to excavate your car from a snow bank yourself. This airport has all the major car rental agencies stationed in the short-term lot for another driving choice; you can also look up, "park and fly" packages from local hotels and use the hotel shuttle to and from the airport.
google avatar

Kenneth K.

Yelp
Really good airport. Flew out of here on Southwest in November after a record long 19 day and night vacation in Canada (although we did go to the Bills game and saw the US side of falls at the very end). It is smaller but still has great food, especially Anchor Bar. The staff, especially the lady behind the Southwest Counter was so friendly, especially with our four checked bags and our disabilities.
google avatar

Cheryl Emily B.

Yelp
I liked this airport. Although, I only have 1 time to compare it to, it felt very relaxed. Unlike others, check-in can feel stressful, this one was easeful and since it's not as busy there was no huge rush. The airport staff were friendly and helpful too. I stopped to get an iced latte at coffee beanery it was a bit overpriced but she gave it to me in a bigger cup since she said it had a lot of ice, that was nice. I choose this airport since it's the closest to Canadas border. TIP you can enter Canadas border by land if you bring your birth certificate and FL DL to show proof of US citizenship. Hopefully, it doesn't change because I appreciated the fact that they are allowing US citizens this privilege! Oh and lastly I noticed they have a "play gate" for lil ones to play, very thoughtful!

Yelp
This was my first time ever flying in and out of BUF and it was pretty smooth. They have Clear and PreCheck here, so coming back through security was a breeze. Upon landing, they have a couple of exit areas from the terminal to make it easy to get out of the airport, which I love. This airport also has rental car facilities attached to the airport, without having to take a bus or train, another plus! The only issue was the lack of decent food... I ended up just eating mediocre food at the lounge, since there wasn't anything I found that was healthy in the main terminals.
google avatar

Sabra R.

Yelp
Quick check in, plenty of seating at gates. Nice restaurants. Always clean and in good repair. People complain our airport is so small but, if you travel a lot it's just the right size to manage! Those big hub airports are awful!
google avatar

Jenn M.

Yelp
It is an accessible airport, and it is even easier to pick up a rental. There was no long line for TSA, and it took less than 15 minutes. However, it did take a long time on arrival to get the bags
google avatar

Corey Q.

Yelp
Our flight out of Buffalo airport was delayed 6 hours and we stayed in the airport - it is very well maintained and clean. The staff if also very friendly.

Yelp
I've only flown in and out of Buffalo one time and I'll tell you this - it was easy peasy. I can't say that about a lot of airports but for this one, I mean it. It's no surprise that this airport is small, so it has its pros and cons. For starters, security was a breeze, it was rather clean, and getting a rideshare to my hotel was smooth sailing, as was getting dropped off for my return flight. Pretty painless in my opinion. When it comes to the cons, one thing that comes to mind is that there aren't a lot of food/drink options... at least where I was at. I meandered around for a hot minute before deciding on a bag of ships and water. The wifi was also a little annoying as it would kick you off after a certain amount of time and you would have to relog into their system and whatnot. Not a huge deal but I could have done without it. Overall my experience was a good one. I know I'll be back at some point and when I do, it's nice to know that I don't have to worry too much about finding out where to go, having plenty of time to get where I need to go, etc.

Yelp
Great mid-sized regional airport! Easy to get in and out. Has a total of 26 gates from a variety of airlines. Direct flights from many cities. Rental cars are available right across the road from baggage claim, no shuttle! Drop off happens at the same spot. May be a little cramped :-) No Club or Preferred service due to few parking spots, so most rental companies will tell you to go to a counter and you can sort out your car. In the terminal bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Several play areas for smaller kids by gate 15 and 10. Airport has both TSAPre and now Clear! Their operating hour may vary. Right by the terminal exit there is a little food court with a Tim Horton.

Hank K.

Yelp
The worst baggage claim in the US! Takes forever! They have a limited number of inbound flights but they are consistently very slow
google avatar

karina k.

Yelp
This is a very efficient and perfect airport. Small and organized so perfect for those who hate flying into huge airports and crowds. You won't need your Xanax or flying pills here. Not crowded and all the stuff you need in an airport. It even has Clear and Of course TSA Pre check (a lot of smaller airports don't have Clear). You walk very little to baggage claim downstairs and then you walk across baggage claim to rental cars. No hassle and no shuttle off site to get a car and it's especially nice when it's cold and you just want to find your car. The parking garage is also there across the street from baggage claim. No one is yelling at you to leave when you are trying to pick up arriving friends or family or your Lyft or Uber customer. They have a cute Thomas the train area for kids and recycling bins. The staff look out for you and are kind. That's what u love about small airports and this one has all the perks you need to make it a great experience. They also have a Priority Pass lounge. Only wish list item: more charging stations.

Yelp
Makes huge difference to make choice depends on quality of workers at the place. Their TSA were the worst! I honestly want to give minus 5 stars just for them, but since I really liked the airport, I've decided to give 3 stars. They just checked every carry on bags I had. They addressed that I carry something sharp, so they went inside all my bags, opened cookie boxes and burger meal I brought from outside airport, and found NOTHING SHARP out of my bag. Instead, she squeezed my cheese burger and ripped my big paper bag, and opened the box of cookies I bought the same day. Now, what in the world do you see anything sharp out of my cookie boxes? Or burger?? I asked her what did she see anything sharp in my belongings, but she started acting she is really busy doing her job and did not answer properly to my question. Buffalo airport really should restructure the manpower at the airport or their quality will go down to the bottom and people will feel very disgusted at the airport and finally, they will definitely ruin the trip for tourists. Please be real and serious! No harassment against tourist please! I absolutely do not think you guys are doing the job properly!!!

Yelp
On July 2 I was waiting in the baggage area for a family member of the airport I noticed how clean the airport was. My family member had a couple of hiccups locating her luggage. We immediately went to the baggage area only steps away and Dalanda Jalloh, customer service employee quickly solved our problems. She was so friendly and professional. She went beyond her duties! Kudos to her and the Buffalo Airport. Employees like Dalanda and others at the airport are giving excellent first impressions to visitors from all over the world showing off our city!

Yelp
BUF First time flying in/out of the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. We had a red eye flight from SMF and arrived around 11:00a in New York. The airport is modern and spacious and easy to navigate because it only has one main terminal. The airport experience was good but I have a beef with the rental car location. The car rental place is onsite and just across the street outside the baggage claim area. Getting through to get your car is another story, though, at least with Dollar. The building is not big enough for all the people waiting to be assisted. This is one building with all the rental companies inside. It was a chaotic and frustrating experience. In this case, maybe build a bigger facility elsewhere and offer shuttle service to passengers. I usually prefer on-site car rental places but I wouldn't mind taking a shuttle to get to a bigger rental place location. Review #3065

Yelp
A clean airport, except for the ladies room by the baggage claim. Had to try 4 stalls before I found a clean toilet seat with no urine or stains on it. Tried using a shield but the toilets flush so fast I had no time to use them! Ended up squatting over the seat. Yuck!

Yelp
I was heading to Niagara Falls for the weekend, so I decided to use this airport for both flights. Upon arrival, I noticed these wooden rocking chairs which is very unique for an airport. The airport is very easy to navigate from the gate to the baggage claim area. When I had returned for the outbound flight, I was able to use one of self kiosk machines. From there, I was able to check my luggage right away. From there, I pretty much walked right through the TSA area. From there, located the gate then walked around some. The upgraded terminal has a few restaurants and shoppes to enjoy. I was surprised there weren't any work areas. Otherwise, the airport was very clean and get around.

Edwin M.

Yelp
If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming and cold. The staff seemed indifferent at best, and the overall vibe was lifeless. What was supposed to be an enjoyable experience turned out to be a complete letdown. Whether it was the poor service, or just the general energy of the place--there was nothing fun about it. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for a good time.

Margot T.

Yelp
So easy to navigate this airport. Bright spaces and wings! The best part: walk a few steps to get your rental car, then return it and walk across the curb lanes to get to the terminal. No shuttles needed. I love this airport.
google avatar

Nino R.

Yelp
I love me a regional airport with an international label. The airport is small for an international but that just means it's easy to navigate. I've yet to experience any delays at the gate or with traffic to and from the airport. Smaller airports is the way to go. If you can avoid going to a monster airport, then please do. It's not like you have much of a choice if your final destination is Buffalo but if you flying to LA for example, give Long Beach a whirl. Thumbs up...
google avatar

Frank F.

Yelp
What's there not to love about small airports. As the saying goes, great things come in small packages. Super convenient parking, easy drop off and pickup. The house the an Anchor Bar which is where Buffalo chicken wings started. Everyone you encounter is friendly and chill. It has a Tim Horton's coffee shop for those that have not had the well known Canadian addiction. Very small but adequate lounge. Plenty of brand name hotels across the street that are actually walking distance. Let's not forget that it's less than 30 minutes to the Peace Bridge into Canada. Cheers

Yelp
I received wonderful and abysmal service within a 30 min time span here lol. The United Airlines ticketing center was really understaffed at the time and the lady at the counter wanted to release her personal stress on me being rude right from the get-go. She talked down to me trying to make me feel unintelligent for not already knowing that I had to check in the wheelchair that I had at the plane gate and not here at the ticketing center (I was traveling with a family member with limited mobility). After (sternly) informing her that this is my first time checking in a wheelchair at this airport and that the previous airport that I visited had me check in the wheelchair at a ticketing center similar to this one, she quickly hid some (just some) of her gross attitude. Anyway, rainbows and daises from here on out as the wheelchair assistant and the TSA officers were some of the nicest and most patient that I've interacted with at an airport (and there's even good camaraderie between the two staff groups). The airport itself is pretty small but clean and brightly lit. Very empty even for a Saturday afternoon when I was here (I've never seen so many TSA officers walking casually around the airport and some lining up at the Tim Hortons in zero rush lol). Overall not a bad airport if you don't need to use the ticketing center, but if you need service there, I wish you a better roll on the service quality roulette lol.
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
Clean, ride sharing is a few minutes walk away and they have kid play areas. Area has hotels a few minutes away that are affordable for many.
google avatar

Jennifer O.

Yelp
Security's pretty tight because the Buffalo Niagara International Airport is right on the Canadian border. But rather than lines you see at other airports, the terminal was empty- and it was mid-morning, not an early hour. Screening had state-of-the-art machines I'd never seen anywhere else. They were quite impressive. The airport's easy to navigate but even pre-COVID there aren't any direct flights to Buffalo from points west of Chicago. Buffalo ain't Boston. We do still have extended family so we'll be doing the trek home at least once every year or two.
google avatar

T L.

Yelp
Service was good enough. I know they are trying to make sure you aren't repeating 9/11 but they should keep records. I don't travel enough to go through TSA, so I have to go through normal security. MY PLUSH WEIGHTED DOG HAS NO ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES!! Geez

Bridget M.

Yelp
the airport sent the ground crew home, and made the plane wait to disembark until they came back to work. we spent an hour waiting to disembark. horribly inefficient airport.
google avatar

Isabella K.

Yelp
This is one of the better airports I've visited. Both the employees at the bag check and at TSA were incredibly friendly and helpful. The airport isn't too large, so that makes it very easy to navigate. Moreover, airport itself isn't super busy, which makes it pretty easy to find a place to sit. The TSA line also moved quickly. There are some good options in the food court if you're looking for something quick to eat. The section I'm sitting at has a Tim Hortons, Bocce Club Pizza, and a BurgerFi. I also saw an Anchor Bar if you want to eat at a sit-down restaurant. Overall, I had a good experience here. Sometimes airports make me anxious, but here I don't feel rushed or anxious.
google avatar

Dezi L.

Yelp
This airport boasts efficiency, facilitating swift passage through TSA checkpoints with commendable haste. Consolidating all airlines within a compact area minimizes the need for extensive walks, rendering it an exemplar of streamlined travel.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
Its slogan... keep Buffalo NY a secret. Wonderful airport with speedy check points. Getting through security was pretty smooth. No need to take iPad, laptops out for example. God bless . Airport is clean and pleasant. Before leaving, I had to get a Buffalo stuffed animal for my son.
google avatar

Jeff R.

Yelp
Airline personnel were friendly as were the TSA. The airport, including restrooms were clean. They could use some lighting upgrades in the gate areas to freshen things up from the 'yellowish' lights. Good experience overall.
google avatar

Kevin B.

Yelp
NIce Buffalo Niagra Airport here on tact. We actually made several stops here during our Canadian trip several months ago. Its a good professional Airport that takes you from point A to B. We stopped and had something to eat before our next flight. Nice security and good organized structure here. Great employees and their good professionalism. I will book more flights in the future here. And try to avoid the layover flights lol.
google avatar

Israel H.

Yelp
This airport deserves zero stars given the chaotic and consistent issue with the car rental center. Clearly something structurally mismanaged across all the rental companies here. Rather shameful - someone needs to find another job/career...
google avatar

Niema K.

Yelp
The airport we have is so tiny in comparison to some other cities. Well it's bigger than Niagara Falls lol. I love my city therefore I represent for our airport. It is lacking though. We need so much more. We need more restaurants that stay open at least until the last flights. And that open at 3:30-4:00 am. We need confident stores and vending machines further down the gates toward the larger numbers. It needs to be cleaned much better. The airport is nasty. It's not a clean place. People should definitely wipe down their seats, armrests, table, and door handles while inside. Baggage claim could be a long proces which is odd when you check in online you should be able to simply walk up and check ure bag but I have been unable too.
google avatar

Rick P.

Yelp
Buffalo Niagara has come a long way since it's first opening in 1926. Being one of the oldest airports in the nation makes this an interesting destination even though the original terminal is long gone being replaced in the 90's. Buffalo Niagara is the third busiest airport in New York yet it's a breeze to navigate and use. If you have pre-check, it's even easier. Staff is friendly and accommodating and they feature all major US based airlines. Parking is easy and affordable with most major brand hotels a short distance away. They feature a great variety in restaurants, bars and stores for your convenience.

Tina S.

Yelp
I travel nationally and internationally about 6 times per year since 2012. The Buffalo airport has gone down in relation to food offerings. There are few choices, the salads are wilted, the meat is subpar. The food choices are too far apart for the elderly and disabled. not everyone wants What appears to be old, possibly expired gourmet food. We are not all shallow people who are trying to show our neighbors that we eat gourmet food and don't care if it's spoiled. we need more choices and fresh, qual ingredient.
google avatar

Maronda H.

Yelp
Small airport that is easy for you to navigate. It would be hard for you to get lost. The day I was leaving Buffalo Airport to return back home to the Windy City. There wasn't a lot of travelers. Very quiet. Not many places to stop off and grab something to eat. Very Clean and organized. It was simple and no chaos getting through the check in gate. It was easy breezy checking in. Wish this was the case always when traveling
google avatar

Steven C.

Yelp
This airport does exactly what an airport is supposed to, it moves passengers safely and quickly. It has all of the amenities one would need, including plenty of restrooms, plenty of places to eat and most importantly, it knows how to deal with the weather that Buffalo is famous for.
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
Yesterday was one of those days that frequent travelers experience eventually: meltdown. Covid, high winds across much of the US, and the holidays turned a return flight into a dramatic cancellation and a scramble to reschedule that absorbed nine hours from my life that I'll never get back. Things happen and the airline did what it could. As frustrated as I was, I appreciated that they were helping in any way they could. Embrace the suck is a phrase hikers and campers use. I applied it here. What I didn't embrace was the number of people not wearing masks properly in spite of the frequent messages heard throughout the airport that it's a federal requirement. One family in my 2-hour line was an example of how we got here. Of the five family members, only the littlest daughter was an exemplar of doing the right thing. The mother and son wore masks on their chins. Another son did the same while coughing and picking his nose. Dad was oblivious to it all. This display was a Petri dish of germs. I mention this because, while I have the luxury of waiting a few days to get back to LA, the doctor in front of me did not. He had to fly and later found a series of different airlines that would connect flights so he could get back to his hospital filled with Covid patients. He was stressed out and confided that his patience for the unvaccinated and unmasked was gone. If people just followed simple rules, folks like this doctor wouldn't be bearing the burden of our collective inadequacies, ignorance, and outright selfishness. Going to the airport? Be a patriot: get vaccinated and wear a mask.

Yelp
Easy to navigate if you're an inexperienced traveler. TSA precheck line does not open until 4am. So either go through the regular line or wait... But why? Everyone else is here and precheck is not? Hmmmmm.....
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
Best part about this airport? Quick and painless. If you have precheck, you're golden - you can get through security in like 2 minutes. I've had a flight board at 5:00pm, arrive at 4:50...and to the gate by 4:52pm. Not many airports where you can do that, but Buffalo is nice in that you can! In May of 2021, the airport was pretty understaffed and many food businesses were closed, despite many travelers. I would love to see more food options here. My favorite are Anchorbar at the sandwich place (Which Wich), but we desperately need a few more local good options. It's unfortunate that one company runs most of the food eateries at the airport. It would be really cool to see more businesses that were representative of the local Buffalo food scene. If you're coming through here, be comforted that it's usually painless, clean and easy to navigate. However, food options (esp in May of 2021) are lacking, but even during normal times...it could use a few more (reasonably priced) restaurants.
google avatar

Maria B.

Yelp
It's been ages since I've been here. Probably 2019. But I came here to pick something up for someone. Felt weird. I suppose one day I'll be here to catch a plane. But meanwhile, it's super clean, when I was here it wasn't busy, and I imagine we will be safely travelling again soon. I hope so. Update 125 2021

Yelp
The Buffalo International Airport is clean, and gets you to where you need to be. There are a couple shops, a coffee shop, some eateries, and lots of places to sit. I liked that they had a memorial set up for September 11 when I was there. It was beautiful. If you are stuck at the airport a while, you can entertain yourself on the people movers. Also, there is a place for dogs to relive themselves, it looks like it was recently added since last September when I was there.

When I'm flying out of an airport, there are a couple of things I care about: good logistics (minimize the time it takes to get through security and walk to your gate), good food if I'm there for a layover, and overall aesthetics. I visited my cousin in Buffalo for his grad school graduation so I got to check out this medium-sized airport. I returned a rental car at the airport which was an easy process. The area to drop off was easy to find and it wasn't much of a walk to get to the terminal. Some airports have their rental car agencies set up farther away so you have to take a shuttle. This is always annoying and adds to the time needed to get to the airport. Not a problem at Buffalo Niagara International Airport. I have TSA Precheck and getting through security was a breeze. I didn't have food here so I can't comment on the options. Aesthetics were about average.
