"According to Buffalonians, Buff’s is the closest it gets to real-deal Buffalo wings in the Boston area. Open over 40 years, this Newton Corner pub serves five heat levels of Buffalo wings and also has a few other sauce choices, including maple hot, garlic cheese Sriracha, honey barbecue, and more." - Erika Adams, Eater Staff

"Don’t overlook this unassuming, casual Boston sports bar. Since 1976 Buff’s Pub has served award-winning sauce-drenched chicken wings, available in varying heat levels from mild barbecue to sweet-and-spicy honey hot to mouth-scorching “xtra-hot” buffalo. Bring your family and sit at an outdoor picnic table or grab a cold beer and watch a game at the bar. Just be sure to come early because this place is consistently packed." - Carolyn Grillo

"This long-running Newton pub is old school. Get 10 or 20 wings with a choice of flavor — be it classic Buffalo (what the place is known for), maple hot, or Sriracha barbecue — and don’t forget the wet naps. Note: Buff’s is cash only." - Dana Hatic

Wings and sauces are worth the hype. No frills, no gimmicks & traditional bar setting. Be prepared to be near people, get bumped and make friends. It’s a great spot with a free lot a short walk away. Outside seating is available. Stays busy, service is good too.

Google
Buff’s Pub is a wing-lover’s dream and hands down the best spot for wings in Boston. With a killer lineup of flavors and the rare option to pick flats or drums on non-game days, it’s pure magic for your taste buds. The staff is beyond friendly, making you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time. Sure, parking can be a bit of a hunt, and the bar is snug, but it all adds to the charm. Trust me, if you’re anywhere nearby, you’d be crazy not to swing by for some legendary wings!

Google
We were down in the area for a streetlight manifesto concert and my wife found this place in our search. It was incredibly convenient being across the street from our hotel. To make a long story short, the prices were incredibly reasonable, our 3 person party with about 3 orders of wings, two orders of tenders and several orders and drinks only came out to about $90 and our server "Too tall" was great. In my opinion, the chicken wings were just slightly tough but not in a bad way, excusable as it was also a Sunday night and the place was slammed because of football but with that being said the flavors in their sauces were phenomenal and it made up for that minor flaw hands down. We have decided to incorporate Buffs pub into our annual concert plans from here on out!

Google
This place continues to delivery after many years. This used to be my go-to spot for wings when I lived in Newton Corner 20 years ago... I stopped by mid-week for dinner while in town on business, and the wings were just as good as always. Can't speak to anything else on the menu, though! When in Rome.

Google
Stopped in Friday to get my Buffalo Wings fix just in time for the Playoffs. After visiting several times before I have to agree the general consensus that these are indeed the best Buffalo wings in Boston 👍 (at least that I've had) Lively low key Spot Pub - noisy and crowded but staff is very friendly and professional. Get the wing plate and pair with Fries or Salad. Nice mix of regulars and Wing franatics. Grey place to watch a game with friends or Solo at the bar. Definitely recommend 🍺

Google
Best wings in the Boston area - hands down. Great bar for football and sports viewing. They’re always slammed because everyone who comes here knows it’s the best spot around. Fast service on the wings too! Be easy on the staff here - they always have their hands full and only have so much space to operate. Buffs pub is the best in the business.

Google
Pretty decent wings. Ok service. Wish we had the option of splitting flavors to try for the wings. Or at the very least on the side. Wings could also be crispier. Overall, not too bad price wise for the amount and quality of wings.

Google
Great wings! Great onion rings! Great drinks, Arnold Palmer was perfect! I got Lemmon pepper garlic parm wings and Buffalo ! The Buffalo wings are sooo fireeee!

Yelp
The food here is incredible. The wings are the star of the show!! I can personally say I've never had better wings... ever! We got the hot buffalo and the honey hot. Both are incredible. We also got the house made ranch. A++. My mother got the tuna melt was said it was very good. The only thing she would have changed was that the cheese wasn't melted. For appetizers we got the potato skins and they were also 10/10. The ambiance is great. Sports games are on all the time. There are probably 10 or so tables, and a decent sized bar area. If you're going to a big game, I'd recommend you go extra early. They had a nice selection of craft beers. Maine Lunch, Trillium rotating drafts, and other draft beers. They also have some great mixed drink offerings. We would recommend this place to any and everyone. Allergy review is N/A. Our allergy wasn't impacted, so we cannot review.

Yelp
Buff's is a busy little pub known for its wings. I went during a weekday and the place was buzzing, but I was fortunate to find a seat at the bar. They are touted as the best wings in Boston, but they were just ok IMO. Wings were a decent size and they have several flavors to choose from so maybe that is the draw. I opted for the buffalo flavor, extra crispy. The wings fit the profile and tasted like anyone would have expected and were cookee perfectly, but nothing uniquely stood out in terms of flavor. It tasted like a plain wing dipped in a standard buffalo sauce (no zip, zang, or twang) on par with most pubs. They also have specials each night, which the people there seemed to love. Service was ok. Conclusion: the wings are serviceable and will do in a pinch, but would not be my first option.

Gabrielle K.

Yelp
The place is small but is known for the best wings in boston. I tried to go one evening a few months back and they told me a 1hr wait lol NO considering there's about nothing around there. So this time around I decided to get it when they open. Service was okay but I give it to the fact the server said they just started working there 2 days ago. Since they weren't busy the wings came out in like 2 mins which was interesting. So the food. Well...They were wings that's for sure. I know the wing sauces I got and yet I couldn't figure out what I was tasting. The flavors did not stand out and I swear one of them which I suspected was the peach bourbon bbq was actually buffalo and they got my order wrong. I'll never know because the check just listed small wings sets but online the buffalo wings looked like what i got. I won't be back but glad I finally went and put my thoughts to rest. Life is full of wins and losses, you just keep moving. What I got Lemon pepper garlic parmesan wings Peach bourbon bbq probably buffalo wings $ Food 4 Atmosphere 5 Service 4

Yelp
Ever since coming to Boston, I've been dying to try out these wings! I've heard so many great things and I know it's a great local spot. I went with a group of 4 and we got there at a perfect time and were seated immediately. I know that there was a line afterward but it was fine for us! It's a relatively small establishment and you might be a bit close to someone else but adds to the cozy atmosphere. We also surprisingly got our food very fast and the server was super attentive to our friend's gluten allergy. I ordered the 10 wing plate with Traditional buffalo sauce, fries, and ranch. I really liked the sauce and had a great level of heat. The ranch wasn't very thick so it coated the wings nicely and balanced out with the sauce. The fries were standard, not bad but not mind-blowing. I will say, the wings were a bit overcooked in my opinion. Some of the crust was a bit hard and the meat could've been softer. It's $20 for the plate and I was definitely full. They have a long list of wing sauces though and I'd love to go back and try some more! I saw someone next to me order the Garlic Parm and put Buffalo sauce on top and it looked fantastic. I'll be ordering that next time! They also started accepting credit cards here so you don't have to worry about getting cash anymore!

Bea T.

Yelp
Still a good place for chicken wings, but I of course ordered the puff burger and the steak tips on the salad. Burgers are Angus beef, and it was delicious with a nice brioche bun.! with a side of sweet potato fries. Delicious ate my burger in two seconds.

Norm C.

Yelp
Great spot for bar food. It's not very big and it's got a lot of wooden booth's. So expect to get crowded. There are TVs along the bar and the booths are along the wall. So most of the seating are positioned to allow for comfortable viewing. Unless you get a one of the few tables and your back is facing the tv. The out door seating is comfortable but it's in a high car traffic area. The team is quick and on the ball. You may have a dedicated server but it appears everyone helps out to keep the food flowing out of the kitchen. Best things on the menu is definitely the wings. You can get different sauces in orders of 6, 10, 20. We wanted to try different sauces, so we ordered a few plates of 6. If you want a side like onion rings, you'll need to order 10 or more wings. We kept seeing plate after plate of wings and fries. Proving the fact that it's the hot item on the menu. Go and check it out but don't be surprised there is a wait during prime dining hours. People were still coming in after 9pm to order food.

Becky M.

Yelp
My husband and I finally got to try Buff's after living in mass for our entire lives. I enjoyed the wings very much as they came out crispy like I asked with Honey Hot Sauce. We also tried the wings with the Lemon Pepper Garlic sauce which was also good. Buff's is a very small establishment. It's extremely easy for people to bump into each other and I was constantly worried that someone might bump into our tiny table trying to walk by to get to a bathroom thankfully they didn't considering how packed it got in there. The other thing I didn't care for was that they do not split sauce flavors for wing orders. For example if you order 20 wings that truthfully could easily be split to try two flavors vs one flavor for 20 wings. But overall the wings were good and cooked perfectly I'd get from here again but def. Takeout.

Joy G.

Yelp
A longstanding Newton institution, Buff's has been on my list of places to try ever since we moved here and I noticed it one street over from another perennial favorite, Max and Leo's. I've only gotten wings for take-out so I'll have to come back and try dining in - but I have to say, I do enjoy eating wings in the privacy of my own home, with gloves on. We ordered the buffalo (mild and spicy), the lemon and pepper, and the Nashville hot. Yours truly is a wimp when it comes to spiciness so I mostly stuck with the mild. The wings were delicious - good amount of meat on the bone, generous slathering of sauce. They also reheated well. This place must make a killing on Super Bowl Sunday. Parking situation is bad, you're better off trying to find a spot in the parking lot one street over or on a side street. During warmer months, they have outdoor seating but it's right next to Washington which feeds on/off the pike, meaning lots of exhaust and honking.

Bryan P.

Yelp
Really good wings! Crispy and meaty. I got the Thai and Jamaican Jerk. Both were good.

Sophie T.

Yelp
Def on my top 5 list of best French Onion soup. I know that sounds kind've random that this is my go-to order at a wing/sports bar pub, but I'm telling you their French onion soup is sooo good. The mac and cheese is also very good. Creamy, cheesy, tasty. Nothing special but hey, it's definitely not bad so I'll take it. Didn't get any Buffalo wings this time around but of course you can't go to Buff's without trying their wings. Silly Sophie, Trix are for kids. Def will be getting wings the next time I'm there. Parking can be tough. Even to pickup takeout can be hard since you might not be able to double park out front on Washington Street (only because the traffic flow is busy coming right off the mass pike), but if there's a will there's a way! There are some meters out front and a couple side streets you might have luck on. Very much a pub scene inside. TVs on, a smaller space but that adds to the experience, booths, tables, and bar seating available, and picnic tables with umbrellas out front as well.

Jose B.

Yelp
Best wings in new england bar none. Sports and booze as well a local scene with a varied menu of comfort food.

mark m.

Yelp
Been a customer here for 20 years. Things are changing and NOT for the better. I live 2 minutes from there location and they have always been my "go to" for weekday dinner. I ordered wings crispy to go which arrived practically raw. I asked for extra blue cheese dressing and they demanded $1.50 from my credit card to get the tiny 2.0 oz serving. The greedy owner bastards will pay when we take our business elsewhere.

Erick G.

Yelp
Yup. Believe the hype. Came on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed to the gills, yet I got a seat at the bar, a beer, and my food super fast. Sports bar atmosphere. Nothing fancy, because the focus is on the food. I went for trad wings and some extra hot boneless. Boneless might have had a tad too much breading that made them fall apart a bit, but the flavor was 9/10. The wings on the bone though were the best I've had in a long time. Very traditional. Perfect fry, perfect heat, perfect acid, perfect size, perfect moisture. They know what they're doing with these. 11/10

Yelp
Best Wings!! Give it up to your servers and bartenders this crew makes this place special. The vibe this place gives is one of kind. The food is on point. Decent size wings (bone in or boneless) they have whatever sauce fits your fancy...,.and you can get the sauce to go. We had the honey hot extra crispy and would say hands down was the go to. The fried pickles have some type of seasoning in the breading that makes you crave the next bite. Drinks - well let's say they are not disappoint.

Olivia P.

Yelp
The wings!!! These wings are well known in the Boston area and beyond for a reason. They are really good and this is the perfect place to stop in for a quick bite, a beer and a sports game. The staff is really nice!

Paul H.

Yelp
Love this place ! It's small but accommodating. Employees have all been very nice and the wings are the best around . You have to get wings here when you go . Other stuff we've had on menu has been great too especially the burger . Drinks are good too , not cheap with booze . It's in an area just of the turnpike in Newton corner across from hotel you go under on the pike . Limited parking but always seem to get a spot on street . Must be lucky I guess

Gary G.

Yelp
I used to come fairly often but last few visits have been a step down. Every time the wings came out suspiciously fast--much faster than it takes to properly cook wings from scratch. Guessing they're either par-cooking or reheating. On the last visit, the wings were cooked but the bones were cold. Buffalo Wings Hot, kinda dry, lighter than usual of sauce, and cold bones. Service was pretty lackluster too, never saw my server after ordering. I used to love this place, so it's kinda sad.

MoneyMakerMac Eats ..

Yelp
No one rep'd Buff's Pub more than myself. I've literally left other restaurants to come here because I love their options and vibe, etc. Lately, there's been a real downfall of service. It happened a couple of times before but I kept coming and then today the most bizarre thing happened... I asked for some extra sauce... I got refused by my server. He said he's only allowed to give me two... I've been coming for years and not once was I told that was a rule (not sure why it would be to limit sauces at a WING joint). I offered to even pay and also pointed out on the menu that they offer and charge for additional sauces. I didn't challenge the rules so I just ordered as allowed, but then they brought small instead of large, I asked the man dropping off the food if I could just grab the bigger size and then he politely agreed. I made the mistake of saying "Oh ok, because the server was making an issue over the sauces" then all of a sudden his answer changed in front of me and said he had to "ask". Long story short... he didn't come back and neither did the server. I wasn't even offered a plate or napkins so I just took my food and left. This is also after I was refused a booth cause I was alone and then saw multiple booths with a solo customer this time and before. Foods great so shout out to the kitchen staff but the servers were a bit rude and unfriendly. Didn't feel very comfortable or comforting which is the first thing you'd want with your wings!

Cheyenne P.

Yelp
Been a while since I left a good restaurant review. This place was so good it made me re-download yelp. The atmosphere had a cozy, old-school charm. The staff was incredibly friendly. They had a full bar with alcohol ranging from beer to wine to cocktails. The food was a solid 4/5. I got the french onion soup (if I could give this 6 stars I would) and the grilled cheese with onion rings. The onion rings seemed as if they had been oddly seasoned but the grilled cheese was flavorful and perfectly crispy. My boyfriend got the tender platter with french fries. He said he gave it a 4/5. The food is very fairly priced. I would definitely come here again.

Tatyana T.

Yelp
The honey bbq wings are the best! Always taste the same and fresh. The sauce is to die for!

Michael O.

Yelp
The wings were absolutely disgusting. Cold and undercooked even though I asked them to be cooked well done/crispy Gross

Hungrytommy ..

Yelp
Buff's is famous for wings and they are good but not as saucy as I would like. They are crispy and have good flavor. I think if I could just get extra sauce on the side, I'd love them. Even better are the tenders. Unlike the wings they are saucy. I got the lemon pepper parmesan tenders and loved them. I'd go back for those alone. The burger was less successful. Ordered medium rare, it was over cooked. It came with nice bacon and good French fries, but the burger itself was lacking. The space is what you want in a pub and there is outdoor seating for those who want it. The service was friendly but a little slow, likely in part because it was crowded. Bottom line - get the tenders, or get extra sauce with the wings, skip the burger.

Andrew D.

Yelp
Ordered wings for the Super Bowl. The staff noted that we could put in an order early, but they wouldn't be taking orders later on closer to the game. That was fine, so placed an order and went to pick it up. The honey hot wings were dry, 90% drums, had very little sauce, and the ranch was very watery/had no flavor. We'd heard that these were some of the best wings in Boston, but they definitely were well below average today. I'd consider trying them again during a less busy time, but I'm pretty disappointed with how bad these were.

Leslie C.

Yelp
Went here for the first time and Buff's Pub did not disappoint. We got medium buffalo wings, spicy teriyaki wings, and hot honey tenders. All were great (hot honey we will get again for sure). Their onion rings were some of the best onion rings I have ever had. Highly recommend this place!!!

Holly W.

Yelp
Pauly Shore told us all to just Buff the Wood! In Boston, he should declare it Buff the wings! Small place but I felt the charm as soon as we walked in. Christmas lights (it's December) and people gathered around the bar cheering on the World Cup Soccer and Sunday football. People were just enjoying themselves here. It was packed. Tight space. They do have high chairs and was acceptable at the hour we went to (around 3:30pm) for kids to be eating wings. The onion rings were just how I like them. Plentiful and thick. The wings- good. I had garlic cheese siracha. It was more siracha than anything. I am glad I tried it but next time I would try something else. My big win of the day, and I know this is ridiculous at a wing place- the Garlic Balsamic dressing was DELICIOUS! My husband even agreed. I would definitely eat wings with Pauly Shore at Buff's.

David J.

Yelp
When I think of a 'pub' places like this come to mind. A cool little bar with pub style food filled with people drinking and having a good time. Buff's was all of that. It was pretty crowded so I took a seat at a table outside. I ordered a beer and lemon pepper wings with sweet potato fries. If you like your lemon pepper wings dry rub style, you may want to ask if they can do it that way, because they do it wet. Very wet, very messy, very delicious. The sweet potato fries were thick cut like steak fries, and were also tasty. I hope my picture is worth more that these words.

Tania L.

Yelp
Had great food! The nachos were great and the wings sauce were to die for! Fun ambience and great service. Definitely would recommend to try

Cynthia J.

Yelp
Chicken is damn good, but so expensive for what you get Unfortunately, it is what it is, I guess. The half order of tenders is little just 3 SMALL tenders for $8. The food overall is always good, though it's always crowded and difficult to eat inside or get to go because of the limited space. Sadly, unless we are feeding a crowd with a variety of the chicken, it's just not worth the price for such little chicken.

Greg W.

Yelp
Rainy night pit stop. I just happen to be in Newton.......NOT. I took a Uber just for the wings. Was it worth it you ask? Absolutely! I like spicy so I was told to get the extra hot. The xtra hit is someone medium-hot so don't be afraid. Every wing was big crispy sauce bomb. I did the 10 piece side salad combo. I also did in house only 6 piece Nashville hot. To be honest not enough sweet or heat but super tasty and Stood on their own. So if your in Boston and don't want to risk having mediocre wings, basically a subpar dinner nothing wrong about heading to Buffs. Some of the best wings I have eating outside Of Buffalo for sure.

Kevin S.

Yelp
We ordered on line take out , I had the lemon pepper Parmesan garlic half order of wings and my buddy had the half order of peach bbq wings. Wings were very good, cooked well, crispy with good sauce. I would love to try other flavors. Had onion rings with the wings, wasn't blown away with those. They were the wide type, I prefer the thin lightly breaded type but they were serviceable. I will def try buffs again and maybe get 20 wings two different flavors.

Ibrahim M.

Yelp
This was my first time here, a colleague of mine recommended this place. I'm very particular with wing places that I go to. So I decided to go here yesterday. I was overall impressed! We were seated immediately even though it was packed. Service was super quick. Food came out immediately. I ordered Xtra Hot and Garlic, cheese and Sriracha wings. Both taste incredibly delicious! I'm a hot food type of person so the Xtra hot wasn't hot for me but I'm pretty sure it'll be hot for people who aren't used to it. But the sauce was delicious. The were well covered with sauce, great size wings and tasted fresh!!! I will definitely be going back for wings again! Tip: There's some parking in the front. A parking garage not too far but there's parking in the back. Give yourself enough time to park. Overall, great place for wings!!!

Harvey S.

Yelp
Got the wings to go, hot honey & garlic. They were delicious, really good. My only complaint is , I wish they were a little more meat on them. I'll be back though, great wings!

Michael C.

Yelp
In town visiting our son at BC and this is one of our stops. The French Onion soup was great as were the burgers and chicken sandwich. It's a regular bar with great food, great service and an all together great place to eat and drink.

Jason C.

Yelp
The wings say it all. This place is a cozy sports bar with great food. I would recommend the traditional Buffalo Wing sauce. The flats had a great amount of meat. Good Beer.

Alan C.

Yelp
They are very nice at buffs pub and i know people rave about the food. I thought the food was good but nothing to go crazy about. Just typical bar food got wings they were good but not mind blowing and a chicken sandwich that was nice. I will no longer settle for okay. Or even good i want very good. no rush to go back

Richard C.

Yelp
Ate at Buffs today for the first time. It was as good as everyone says it is. I moved here from North Carolina 4 years ago and have not been able to find a good wing place until today. I will definitely be going back. The wings were excellent and the fries and onion rings were good also.

Derrek C.

Yelp
Best wings evah. Nice selection of beers too. I always leave stuffed because I get the burger to go with about 100 wings!

Joshua H.

Yelp
Just insane. Just totally amazing. You will feel gross after though if you get the garlic sriracha wings. Just crazy. Can't even talk about how yummy. Nice takeout service. Great bar to chill at top and watch sports if you wanna!

Mike R.

Yelp
Best wings in Boston. I'm reluctant to even post this review for fear of never being able to get a table again...but it's always busy anyway. So consistent and so many different flavors that are all delicious. Great neighborhood bar vibe inside. Good place to watch the ballgame.

David R.

Yelp
I don't get what the hypes about? Food is super dry. Barely any sauce on the wings. I've had much better wings else where

Food P.

Yelp
Wow wow wow!!! If you are looking for some of the best chicken you've ever eaten, come here! Great atmosphere even better wings. Buffalo is fantastic, can't forget the peach bourbon though. Always a good time and delicious fall off the bone wings. Buffs is one of the best in bizzness

Tracey F.

Yelp
I personally can't comment on the food as the server said she couldn't say whether they could cook a burger on a clean grill or separately in a pan as I have a gluten allergy and never checked. My family got the wings. They were just ok. Once the server took the order she never returned. Someone else brought over the food. No one ever asked how the food was. No one ever came over when our drinks were empty. We literally sat there for over 45 minutes waiting for a bill. It was not busy as we were there at 2pm on a Sunday. I have to say this was the worst service O have experienced I 20 years! Would never go back!

Peter P.

Yelp
Possibly the best bar wings in Boston. The sauces are thick and bursting with flavor. Dine in if you can for the crispiest wings that still retain the juiciness of the meat; however expect a long waitlist for a seat. There's a fair selection of wing sauce flavors and my favorite has to be the lemon pepper garlic parmesan.

Mike S.

Yelp
We enjoyed our lunch at the bar. Plenty of local fair and drafts on tap. A bar with a real Boston feel to it. Even a couple Yankees fans felt welcome (dare I say). Big portions and not a long wait. Much better than eating at the hotel we stayed at across the street. Less expensive too.

Antonio M.

Yelp
The food was great highly recommend the service was fast and friendly the restaurant itself kinda small but it was pretty nice

Joe C.

Yelp
True Score: 3.5 Stars Great wings but pricey. This is a fun, casual place in Newton MA known for its Buffalo wings. Buffs is known for their wings and their wings are great but everything else on the menu suffers for it. Decent beer selection, but once again pricey. Service is efficient and attentive. Best deal is the 15 dollar wing basket, comes with fries. Go to Harry's instead, better deal, better food. Thanks

Kevin K.

Yelp
The honey hot wings are dynamite! Always great service. Good place to watch a Bruins game.

Bob R.

Yelp
Fun neighborhood feeling type of pub. Great wings and good service. Lots of good draft

C. D.

Yelp
The wings are exactly as good as everyone says. The other items are good too. Good beer selection. Perfect French fries. Staff are professional and friendly. Fun place to watch a game, and take out is well organized.
