Hype? Maybe. Overrated? Definitely..Prices are high, and the food quality is low. I’m really disappointed with this restaurant. Before sharing my review, I must acknowledge the employees from Nepal. They were outstanding, and my one stars are solely for their kindness and excellent service. The remaining star is for the food.
In appetizers, We ordered Chicken Lollipop, Paneer Tikka, and Veg Manchurian.
The Chicken Lollipop was so hard that we had to send it back, and even the staff admitted that it was overcooked. As for the Veg Manchurian, I’ve never seen such tiny balls in my life—super small and unimpressive. Paneer Tikka, however, was the only bright spot: the paneer was soft and well-prepared as they have done in past please see my screen recording of pervious visit at the end.
For main course, We ordered Chicken Gravy, two Paneer Gravies, Kadai Paneer, and Paneer Dilruba, Dal Makhani and Garlic Naan and Chilli Garlic Naan.
The Paneer Dilruba (essentially Paneer Makhani) was the worst I’ve had in all of NJ—watery, sour, and cold. When we asked the staff to check it, they offered to remake it, but the remake was even worse. They added cream and butter on top served it back, as if that would fix it. Seriously? Please stop adding food coloring!
The Kadai Paneer was just okay. The vegetables were undercooked, which detracted from the dish. Thankfully, the Chicken Gravy was good, but only because we warned them beforehand that we’d send it back if it wasn’t. Dal Makhani was all time good. Naan can speak by itself.
Honestly, I had high expectations for Bukhara Grill (formerly Delhi Accent), especially since I recommended it to friends—one of whom was even considering catering from them for their wedding. After today’s experience, I doubt we’ll ever return.
There are smaller, better places in the area that may not be fancy dining atmosphere but are rich in flavor and quality. Follow or message for more :)
