Bull & Bourbon is an upscale dining establishment that we have been looking forward to trying out. We've been to the casino many times, and have eaten at other spots on site, but had put off trying their premiere dining offering until we could come and spend an evening and really get to experience the restaurant.
To say that it is a disappointment is an understatement. First off, it is absurdly expensive for what you receive. An 18oz. ribeye is $57 and that includes absolutely nothing but one small cherry tomato on the plate. The steak was on the thin side, but was properly cooked and seasoned. My companion had the fillet mignon, again properly seasoned and cooked to order. The criticism is not with the meat, which was good enough, but it was not backed up with presentation, service, or ambience to accompany the steaks. We were compelled to order side orders of mushrooms ($12) which were delicious, and whipped potatoes ($7) which were OK. Bread with a sweetened herb butter was served as we were seated.
For these high-end prices, one would expect high-end ambiance and service. Bull & Bourbon has neither. The restaurant is very loud and the decor is nothing special. The service was what you would expect at an Olive Garden - certainly not an "upscale steakhouse". Waiters leaned over guests to serve entrees, orders were missed, plates were cleared haphazardly, silverware improperly positioned, and if to add even more absurdity to the experience, a "waiter" loudly played hand drums on the pick-up counter while waiting for his order to come up. As if it wasn't loud enough as it was! The restaurant suffers from poor management, training, and supervision.
Save your money and avoid this awkward attempt to emulate a high-end steakhouse. Del Frisco's or Ruth's Chris are both much better experiences - in all facets.
