Who would not want to sleep in a room named after a cow with cowhide prints over the bathtub? This hotel is just perfect - quirky, fun - and it has a restaurant on site.
Here is their confirmation email: "The Bull Inn at Barton Mills is not a B&B, its not a hotel, but it is an award winning boutique and quirky modern day coaching Inn, located near Mildenhall, Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket in the picturesque county of Suffolk. The Inn simply radiates character, style and an eccentric passion, which is simply infectious to all those who visit. Think funky and fresh within an amazing 500 year old coaching inn.
We have created 15 individually designed boutique bedrooms, AA Rosette dining rooms, cosy pub with great wines, real ales and an open log fire for those cold winter evenings. There is also a fantastic courtyard to while away many a summers day with family and friends. Improvement and refurbishment never ends at The Bull, we are driven by the passion to seek and trying new, exciting and sometimes crazy ideas!
When it comes to eating you can go one of two ways, from amazing pub menu, served every day from 12noon to 9pm (9.30 on Friday & Saturday) to casual yet cosy modern dining in our AA rosette dining rooms. If you wish to enjoy an evening in our dining rooms please make a reservation to avoid disappointment. We do not take reservations in the pub and I am afraid we do not serve the pub menu in the dining room."
