The 14 Best Restaurants In Polanco - Mexico City - The Infatuation

"Bulla isn’t just the best Spanish spot in Polanco—it’s the best Spanish restaurant in all of Mexico City. This place is unpretentious (with prices that are even less so), and its the kind of laid-back spot where you might come for lunch and end up drinking cañas till 7pm. You’ll be impressed by their perfectly runny tortilla de patatas, which you should combine with a pan con tomate and Mahou. For the main event, go in on the tapas-style dishes, like the tender pulpo a la gallega, and the croquetas de jamón serrano that are semi-crunchy outside and gooey inside. Head to the restaurant on Sundays when a shrimp-packed paella is served from a massive paellera. There are three Bulla locations, but we like this one for the corner terrace and lively energy." - guillaume guevara

Loved this restaurant! The ambiance is perfect - cute and slightly elevated but comfortable. Not too loud :) great quality croquettes and the arroz con mariscos was perfection!

My wife and I came here on one of the last nights of our vacation. The quality and selection of the tapas were excellent. They have several different types of Anchovies which are my personal favorite, but also lots of meats and Cheeses. Great wine selection also! The service was absolutely top notch, Johan took great care of us at the bar and helped walk us through many of the different options. We wish we had found this place sooner!

Small place but with a very well defined culinary purpose that transpire in the service the elegant staff offers you. It’s almost imperative to come back and taste more of the tapas and excellent wine selection

This is a small but delightful eatery. We sat at the bar for dinner because we didn't have a reservation (hint hint). The bartender was our server. He was engaging, friendly and attentive. My wife had a mixed salad and I had their Pollo al ajilo. The food and the ambiance were equally good.

Classy but not pretentious. Really yummy food. I came late Wednesday night and the service was attentive although there weren't many clients. Very chill atmosphere. Good quality/price ratio.

We made a reservation for casual family diner while visiting CDMX. Unfortunately the restaurant is overrated. We arrived to restaurant we were not seated, after waiting in main door for a while we seated in a table close to bar, kitchen near a mirror. It took good 10 minutes to the waiters who were seating in front of us to notice we arrived and started the service. We were barely 5 tables dining that Monday night. We were offered an underwhelming cup with olives and minced peppers, followed by yummy warm bread. The Octopus, the seafood rice were ok but not exceptional, no even close to real Spanish standards. Well the biggest disappointment was the unavailability of Paella that was the reason we chose Spanish fare for that night (only available on Sundays and you need to ask for it days in advance), I mean is rabbit and some seafood items that challenging to find. The lamb grilled chops were very bland Swiming in low quality olive oil; I asked medium well and came medium rare, rare close to the bone (cooked frozen?). Cauliflower soup was good. Overall not the experience we expected for the reviews on google or trip advisor. Definitely will not come back; the neighborhood has great options for the same price and it seems Spanish fare is better in other restaurants around. Decides not to stay for deserts, they look fresher I a more appetizing on nearby cafes/panaderias with great baristas. Area and place looks good though!

Food and atmosphere was good, but service was unfortunate. We had a table of four. Before we ordered, I requested separate checks. The waiter refused to provide separate checks. Since some of us were drinking, and some ordered expensive dishes while others only ordered appetizers, we didn't want to simply divide the check four ways. The end result is that we had to pass the check around the table, and one-by-one, find and add up what we each ordered, which became a source of stress, as we wanted to ensure fairness and accuracy. This is a narcisistic burden the waiter put on us because he didn't want to provide separate checks. We each paid by credit card, so the waiter still had to process four different transactions, so it's unclear what he gained by refusing to provide us with separate checks as we requested. Moreover, the waiter brought all of our meals at separate times. I was finishing my dinner when he finally brought my friend's dinner. So our table did not eat together. Instead, they watched me eat and then I watched them eat. All meals were delivered at different times. So strange and really ruined the dining experience. When I ordered my queso plate, I asked if the dish came with bread. The waiter said yes, it comes with bread, and he gave me a choice between two breads: plain or tomato. I chose the tomato bread and then he charged me extra for it. Overall, the waiter was the worst part of our dining experience, but the food and atmosphere was good.

An extensive menu, of which I sampled several items and everything we had was amazing. Fabulous wine list and attentive service, made for an unforgettable dining experience. I'll be back.
