In Paris, Pastry Chef Maxence Barbot Is Le Bristol Hotel's Dessert Visionary

"I really like Bulle, the bakery and pastry shop founded by my former sous‑chef Eugénie; it offers perfectly crafted pastries, beautiful breads and cakes that are both delicate and generous, reflecting her talent." - Nicola Leigh Stewart

The nicest and most accessible boulangerie in 19th arro in Paris, just across the gate to Butte Chaumont Park. Most of the time they have long lines of people who wants to buy. Try their savoureux and sweets, buttery and flaky croissant.

Definitely in my top 3 boulangeries! Everything was outstanding and super fresh.

Really beautiful pastries that made it hard to pick. I wanted to try everything! I enjoyed the brioche loaf and galette in particular. Great place to swing by to pick up breakfast then head over to buttes-chaumont park to enjoy. Highly recommend!

Loved our visit here. Really good, tasty, flakey pastries. Particularly loved the Pain Suisse. Had a chocolate and coffee taste. Generously filled and airy. The Viennoise was bread like but filled with lots of chocolate chips. Beautiful to look at too. The staff was really friendly and saw me struggling a bit with ordering as I didn’t really know French, but they spoke English to me. Not really any seating here. As it wasn’t too busy, we took the only 2 seats, but other people wanted to stay, they just stood and ate their purchase. The cakes and desserts look good too. The madeleines were yummy! Would highly recommend it here! Clean and not too busy, just a steady flow of customers when we came around 11am.

Superb, everything is so good that it’s been a challenge to make room to eat other things. The eclair has a surprising texture on the top, with excellent caramelisation of the pastry! Baguette tradition was fabulous as well, I swear it wasn’t my intention to eat the whole thing. Will be headed back there before my trip ends to hopefully try (nearly) the entire menu. Customer service was also impressive, the person at the counter was patient and polite with their customers and even though this meant I had to wait a little while it showed great care for their customers and stood out.

Very cute bakery and sophisticated and gorgeous selections of pastries and bread. The only regret was that we didn’t get to try more varieties! Tropezienne was delicious, light cake base and perfect cream. Paris-Brest was uniquely interpreted, a little hard to eat and it was quite dense.

Best bakery in the 19e, maybe even Paris. Excellent options for both savoury and sweet, including interesting and thoughtfully flavoured sandwiches and intricate, sophisticated pastry. Above all, the place is ideally located by the park, well-designed, and the staff are very efficient and friendly. Gluten free bread too + EdenRed accepted.

This bakery was delicious, possibly the best I've ever been to! I initially bought two pastries, the pain Suisse and the cruffin. I went early on Saturday morning so there was almost no queue, and they had come fresh out of the oven. The cruffin was filled with seasonal jam (clementine in this case). I ate them as I walked around the Buttes-Chaumont Park. They were delicious. Soft, fresh, flavourful. So by the time I finished the walk I had decided to come back and buy some more! This time I bought a Tigre and a cinnamon roll. I wish I could stay here all day and try one of each! I will definitely be coming back in future and recommending it to all my friends!
