Bullfrog Bagels

I stopped by Bullfrog Bagels and ordered the HAS bagel (hummus, avocado, sprouts) along with a bacon, egg, and cheese. The bagels themselves were fine, but mine wasn’t toasted, which made it fall a little flat. They offer a large variety of flavors which were decent, portions typical although it’s nothing standout. On the plus side, service was fast and the food came out quickly. Overall, an okay spot in a good location so good in a pinch, but not something I’d go out of my way for.

I would not be unhappy with a bagel from Bullfrog, but I wouldn’t find myself craving one of their bagels either. The bagels themselves are decent, with good toppings, and quick service, but I prefer Call Your Mother’s over these.

I wanna be clear that the employees are very nice and attentive, and the location itself is great for lunch. That being said, the bagels here are really, really bad - which is pretty crazy since it’s supposed to be your specialty?? Compared to their other locations, such as in Eastern Market, it’s not even a comparison. I don’t know if they are frozen and are being reheated or if they are just older and stale… but whatever it is, Bullfrog leadership need to compare the bagels here to those from their other locations and figure it out.

Bullfrog Bagels in the Western Market has it all, breakfast sandwiches, various bagels and flavors of cream cheese and bagelwiches, classic deli sandwiches made with bagels. Given that Bullfrog Bagels’s menu is pretty extensive, it was tough to make a choice. I decided to go with a poppy seed bagel and a chive cream cheese. It was so good! The perfect amount of cream cheese to bagel ratio. The bagel was nice and chewy and the right flavor combo that was easy to devour! There are a few seats along a counter inside the tiny bagel shop, if you want to dine-in. If you find yourself in Western Market and Bullfrog Bagels is open, grab one of their bagels or bagelwiches.

Review june 2024 1. Had different flavor bagels 2. Had 2 bacon, egg, cheese bagels and 1 Everything with cream cheese. Food was good and fresh bagels. Coffee basic. Not my 1st choice. They do have other drink options. Parking can be difficult in area depending on time of day. Girl at front Register seemed overwhelmed and somewhat irritated by the line. Service wasn't great but it decent breakfast Seating in western market.

Bagels are fine (better than typical around this area, but still a bit dry/dense). Charged $6 for 16 oz nitro cold brew, then they forgot to give it to me; when I go back to ask for it, they gave me a small cold brew even though I specified I had paid for a large. Just an overall slightly disappointing experience, but maybe it would be better on another day.

Good bagel, but I was expecting better. This review might be the result of hype, but I expected to be blown away by Bullfrog. I had been told by several people that Bullfrog has the best bagel in DC. That may still be true, but then I would say that DC only has slightly above average bagels. My go-to bagel is poppyseed with plain cream cheese. It was good, but I've had equal or better both in NY and HOU. Perhaps the bagel sandwiches set the place apart, but I did not have one. I would certainly go back since the bagel was good, but I wanted better.

Great smoked salmon bagels. We had then 3 days in a row while visiting DC. Quick and tasty breakfast before our visit to museums.
