OK ish.. prime steak was a little fatty and under done (supposed to medium) and French onion soup had far too much cheese in!!! Service good though.

So this was my first time this evening. So pumped to go on my birthday as I've heard nothing but great things! I'll make a long story short. I won't say it was horrible because after I got passed the almost cold prime rib it was decent but over all the dining experience was garbage. The crab stuffed mushrooms we soo awful. The complimentary bread was stale and cold. And on top of that the beef veggie soup was tasteless and the meat was tough. I think if I paid an average price I wouldn't have been so disappointed but it was Ruth's Cris prices and not a fraction of the service or decor. I get that it's a beachy old staple but come on. Anyway obviously others have had a great experience but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and I certainly would never go back.

Best prime rib in San Diego county

Ordered a full-rack of ribs. The ribs were very dry, baked potato was stale. The meal tasted like warmed over leftovers. Salad and wine were good. I remember years ago, dining at Bully's was a treat. My last few visits have been very disappointing. In the future, I'll stick with Outback

Looks like a decent spot to drink, but the food was terrible - in that my chicken sandwich had no seasoning/cheese/sauce. The fries were void of any salt. If they can't get something that simple right, I'd caution dropping coin on a steak.

Very disappointed... dont mind spending 29 dollars for prime rib...but it should be good. In short...my beer smelled like a fishbowl.. prime rib and au jus was really nothing special...garlic mash potatoes were completely bland.. i should have known better when the waitress could not confidently say the prime rib was good.. John Taffer or Gordan Ramsey please save this place.. im sure it has survived this long due to the great location..

The cuts of beef are excellent and they are known for their Prime Rib. Pricey plates but the food is so good, as is the service. Been at this location for many, many years and they have a loyal following so reservations are suggested.

Okay, it’s only going to get three stars, and the food doesn’t deserve even that. If you’re a vegan, well, let’s just say you’re going to be limited to fried food or perhaps a mediocre veggie burger of some sort; however, if you want to relive the days when you first turned 21 and got to go with your dad to drink an old-fashioned for the first time at a bar with him, go back and relive it! All I can say is have the drinks, skip the food, and enjoy the small, cramped red vinyl booths. In the end, those fantastic old-fashioneds make the evening. Just have a little food at Prep Kitchen beforehand or perhaps a snack at the L’Auberge afterwards, and you will have the best of Del Mar.
