"The one part coffee shop, one part record store offers ample seating and complimentary Wi-Fi for customers. A selection of fresh doughnuts from neighboring Woodmoor Pastry shop (including a “cronut” croissant-doughnut combo), are available for purchase, in addition to bagels, muffins, and sandwiches like the “9:30 Club” made with spinach, egg, cheddar, and spicy vegan mayonnaise ($8)." - Kalina Newman

Google
Nice cafe in the library, am not sure where the cafe lounge was because all I noticed was the main order area near the elevators. Just a few seatings spots and turntable for some old records. I probably missed it or something, but from what I saw its a nice small spot at the library. Latte ($5.30): Surprisingly nice and strong! I thought it would have been diluted by the milk, but the balance leans more towards the coffee. Its a good strong taste that will also wake you up. Great coffee!

Google
Bump n' Grind is back ! They are true masters of the flat white, serving at the right temperature, size, and with milk foamed to the texture of wet paint ... delicious ! ( Not true in the ice cream shop location) The 930 bagel sandwich is generously sized and very tasty. The new location is smaller and not nearly as chill, but I will be a repeat customer... Maybe the best flat white in DC .

I've been going to Bump N' Grind since they were on East-West highway. It's a bit of walk to the library, but I e enjoyed bringing my laptop to work for a few hours here.

Google
The place is awesome. I usually dont give 5 stars but, this place deserve it. Nice music. Delicious coffee, cool enviroment, cozy place to read, dine alone, have a few beers with friends. Clean place. Staff is friendly both speak english and spanish. Highly recommended.

Google
This place might be going through some rennovation because it did not look quite like some of the images on Google, but for such a small space tucked away in the public library, the lox bagel was very good! The barista was working independently on multiple orders at once and she was nice. I did not expect the macchiato and lox bagel to be so good, but both were satisfying!

Me and my partner, on August 9th 2024, stopped by this establishment on our way from Philly back to Atlanta and we are big coffee lovers and appreciate vinyl too so we were excited to stop by on our way through DC. We checked online before to see if they were open and it said it was. Well… we parked and payed a couple bucks to park before we went in and it was closed. We got there at 1 pm, right in the middle of the work day and they were closed. I went onto their google page to see if it said anything about it to see if I was in the wrong. Nope. It said nothing. We took a 30 minute detour for some good coffee and paid parking for, but unfortunately, never got. I was extremely disappointed with their lack of explanation for why they were closed as there wasn’t a note on the closed up shop either. I hope they’re open when I visit next because I want to give it a chance.

Place you want to come back. Many tables of different kind. Couches. Nice coffee, music. Great place to work or talk, not noisy.

Google
Best coffee shop in Silver Spring. Coffee is great. Great vibe and plenty of seating options, so it's a great spot to get work done. Food options aren't too impressive, but I don't mind since I'm only there for the coffee.

Yelp
The place was a bit difficult to find. So I called the phone number but it wasn't working. Finally I found it. It was in front of the Silver Spring library in a separate island on its own. It's a bit difficult to describe but if you walk on the Fenton St, you ll see little flags/banners (attached in my pictures). Follow them and go past the railing and the store is on the first floor. It's confusing because the address is 900 Wayne but it is easier to get to from Fenton. They could use a small banner on Wayne. The place itself is okay. The cronuts and bagels were fine. Nothing special. The seating inside was a bit odd. The barista area looked pretty clean though. The service was fast. There wasn't enough variety of food. If you want a quick bagel and coffee, it is okay but otherwise I would pass.

Yelp
I'm super late, but this place is pretty cool! I wish I had visited sooner. There's books, comfy looking couches and just a nice setup! I know pre-covid it was bumpin' in here! One day again!!! I stopped by last week after having had it bookmarked for some time. I was really impressed with the space and the vibe although there was no indoor dining. There's some outdoor seating but that particular day it was freezing cold so I ordered my chai latte to go. It was pretty good and the price fair! I had a nice time chatting with barista, David! I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Did you say you like DONUTS with your coffee or hot tea?Well, I have just the place for you! Bump is located on the Fenton Street side of the library. If you find the Fenton Street library entrance, you've found Bump. Here you will find various teas (ask to be pointed to the menu - it's not on the board), coffees, BAKED GOODIES, sandwiches, and (at least seasonally) CIDER. The baked goodies selection varies from day to day, but I've ALWAYS found DONUTS (sometimes one or two types - today there ware at least 6!! - hard to choose!). The donuts are from a local bakery called WOODMOOR and are always fresh. If you're into VINYL, there are also a few bins of new records. Note that many of the pics posted here are NOT of the current location, but of the former location on East-West Highway. Bon appétit!

Yelp
I was in Silver Spring to pick up some tickets I had won from a radio station and of course I can't be in a new area without trying out a new coffee shop. Bump 'n Grind happened to be fairly close to where I was so there I went. This coffee shop has plenty of space and seating but the coolest thing is it's also a record shop and one can play records. How awesome is that? Both the guy working the register (unfortunately don't remember his name) and barista (Afraah) were helpful and super friendly. I asked Afraah for specific coffee art and she was really into giving it a try. Whenever I'm back in the area, I would stop by again.

Yelp
A pretty cool cafe that puts emphasis on supporting local artists and music in general. They're still open during this time but with limited hours of operation and no dining in just yet. I went two days ago to pick-up a mobile order of my Iced Matcha latte. It tasted delicious but a bit watered down. When I went to pick-up my order, I was the only person in the store. They did an amazing job taking COVID-19 precautions and the employee was friendly and helpful. I would recommend anyone needing a good breakfast or missing coffee runs to stop by!

Beth S.

Yelp
Nice service, good pastry and coffee. Depressing location, unfortunately. Would have liked to hear music or anything but silence - it was eerily quiet

Sarah B.

Yelp
I enjoyed this place to hide away and read my book. It's attached to the Silver Springs Library. It's only issue is the seating isn't super comfy and I was looking for a nook to read my books but it was really neat with the records they had. Clean and classy!

Candice H.

Yelp
This is my favorite neighborhood cafe. I always get the toasted almond tea and their WiFi has great reception. I ALSO love their text messages they send over with deals and announcements. The staff are super nice and they always have a chill playlist on.

Yelp
Mixed feelings here. This is a really chill place and I love the vibe - music and coffee and community with a diverse group of patrons (although the common denominator seems to be people working on laptops or having one-on-one networking meetings). There is a yummy looking menu for lunch items, which I did not try, but possibly those make it worthwhile. My daughter and I ordered a chai latte and a kid's hot chocolate to go. It took 17 minutes (!) to get our drinks - with only one person's cappuccino order ahead of us. I appreciate that they offer a kid's size hot chocolate but it was served burning hot (most places will do a "kid temperature" or at the minimum double cup). My chai was disappointing - too watery in taste and hardly any trace of spices. So while I appreciate the space and what it offers in terms of a place for music and community connection, I don't think the service or drinks lived up to the hype.

Yelp
Excellent coffeeshop. I stopped by here to catch up on work when visiting the DMV. I've tried the other coffeeshops in the area which are also good (Zed's, Kaldi's, etc.), but I think this one may be the best option. Couches, food, coffee, espresso, music, outdoor seating, and did I mention couches? I think the chill vibe and couches set it apart from the next two top options. MOCHA The mocha was very chocolaty and warmed me to the core. Not too sweet but just right.... it made me feel like little red riding hood. MUNCHIES They mainly have flatbread options. I'm a carnivore. So I was sad to see limited meat options, but the Buffalo Soldier (with buffalo chicken and bacon ranch) filled me up and was only $7! WiFi Speedy. The login states there password is valid for only a 2 hour limit, which is the only negative with this coffeeshop if you're planning on working for a while. But, you could probably just purchase a piece of fruit and get another wifi password. TL;DR: Couches, Coffee, Chicken, Constrained-cyberspace :)

Yelp
This place has a cute atmosphere, and the lavender latte was a pretty standard lavender latte. The record aspect is a nice touch. I gave it only 2 stars because the service was pretty poor... I asked the barista what type of drinks the coffee shop is known for since I have never been to this place, and she pretty much just listed everything that they serve (we have coffee, tea, lattes, cappuccinos...) which isn't really helpful when I see the menu right there. I also ordered the "Get the LED Out" which is a lentil salad, and it was pretty disappointing. The dressing was light at best, and I only saw a few ver finely chopped pieces of onion. The rest was only lentils and spinach (which wasn't listed as an ingredient?). Finally, for the wifi they hand out little cards that indicate that the wifi code is only valid for 2 hours. I understand why they feel the need to do that, but the system just isn't my style... doesn't make it feel like a welcoming environment. Overall, I had a slightly below average, non-unique experience. It's close to the metro but you may be better off going somewhere else.

Yelp
Pretty cool glitzy cafe with a specialty in great coffee and some records for sale. On vinyl...small but interesting collection of jazz, house, dub, techno etc. Some great pastries and a nice clean environment in a mixed use density spot. Good stuff! I picked out jazz records by Coleman and Lateef.

Keisha H.

Yelp
Is this my new favorite coffee shop? YES. Will I be there often? YES. I've been meaning to check this place out and I'm glad I finally took the time. The girl behind the counter was SUPER nice and answered all of my questions about the place. The owner/ resident DJ was spinning some cool vibes. My vanilla latte was delicious, and the photos and art on the walls were pretty dope. A place featuring a picture of the God Father of gogo is always good in my book!

Tyneisha M.

Yelp
Rating 2.5 Ehh nothing special food wise. I appreciated the service and small town feel but that was about it. I ordered a burrito and it was pre made and warmed in a toaster oven. For almost $7 I expect a bit more. Most likely wont return.

Hiral D.

Yelp
This is such a swanky coffee shop. I recently read that they're going to open a kiosk at Ellsworth Place but I hope the location on East West Highway stays because I would love to walk here from home and even work from here sometimes. I love the interior decoration, design and relaxed vibes. When I first walked in, I thought to myself this is exactly how a coffeeshop should feel like. I looked through the records and didn't see anything I recognized except for a hindu god on the cover of one of the albums but the music was interesting nonetheless. I take one star off because the flatbread isn't anything too exciting but it's decent if you're very hungry which was the case for me. Everything else is awesome from the lattes to live music that happens every second Thursday of the month. I also ended up having a glass of wine because they offer beer and wine but it's a bit pricey for the quantity that you get for two glasses of wine. I still came here two days in a row. On the first day, I thought i'd just grab a coffee and listen to some records but I enjoyed the vibes that we ended up staying for three hours. The guys playing the music were really nice and friendly and part of the reason I ended up sipping on wine and latte for three hours. The lattes are very good and if you're lucky, there's a very talented and kind artist that will surprise you with some latte art. My friend and I got a panda and pig and it looked really cool. On the second day, I came back with a coworker during our lunch break because she wanted to try the latte and she was pretty happy despite the 20 minute commute. I hope to come back more often with my laptop and relax on the couches while listening to some funky music!

Yelp
Best place in Maryland to crap a cup! Staff is super friendly! Their hours are 8am-3pm.

Yelp
Boy did this place failed to meet my expectations. While running errands with a co worker. She really wanted to try this place over Kaldis! It was a rainy morning and I wanted a chai and a pastry. The pastry case looking empty and unappealing. I chose a spinach and cheese turnover and a hot chai. Service was great from the male employee. He heated up my turnover in a toaster oven and made my chai. The Deets: The chai: perfect temp but too spicy! Not sure which spice was overpowering but I didn't like it. I took two sips and tossed it. Spinach & cheese turnover: it was average, spinach looked like it used some frozen cheap crap and cheese. Once I got to the middle of the turnover it is cold #nobueno! I tossed that too. 3 stars for the nice service but for my coffeehouse needs I'll stay loyal Kaldis. Food here is #nobueno.

Yelp
I was jive eager to stop make my way to Bump N Grind because I love tea and buying vinyl is something I keep saying I want to get back into. I am not sure when it opened but I know that it was before R. Kelly's long overdue cancellation. I'm so old school that though I did like the Bump N Grind remix, I was done with him from the beginning. He bit Aaron Hall's entire motif and the Aaliyah stuff was an example of beating a dead horse. Now, B. and G. I invited a friend here to catch up and her ride/friend came with but we ended up not eating here because it wasn't "food food". That's how I ended up at the Firehouse a few months back. I left empty handed and they left with a sweet they raved about. Something. For my return visit to sip chai and dig in the crates I was ready. Keeping it a billy, the record selection was basura. Complete b.s. I was hoping for some Scottie B., Booman and the like but nope. I really was looking forward to some Mandigo, N.E. Groovers, Junkyard but naw. A lot of House but not the Lidell Townsell I nor the Lil Louis or Jook House I can get down with. The kind where I tell people I'm a Househead and they're like, "I hate that white, rave music, you trippin!" If I had a watch at that moment, I would have looked at it and it would have read, Chai Time. I tend to judge places on the dairy alternatives they offer. If they say, "Skim, Whole, 2% and Soy" I think, "That's so 2013." Bump N' Grind is so progressive that stickman behind told me they have Hemp Milk! Hemp milk! The only H & M for me right now. I hadn't heard of hemp milk until watching a video of Chronixx cooking. My kundalini energy was up! Dude put that in my chai, I sipped and ascended to the next level. I just can't give 5 Stars because them records were chimbo. Both times I checked. I know there are tons of old Funk and Disco cutouts floating out with some nice beats that are worth a listen or two. "If the price is right I just might." Trina

Yelp
Neighborhood coffee joint that's in a busy neighborhood but three blocks from the Metro station, it's really quite residential. Neat vibe and a cool spot to maybe get some work done. Great coffee. My latte was perfect in a proper cup and saucer. The cardamom and poppyseed muffin was excellent. Some bagels and croissants, but clearly, the focus here is on the coffee and espresso beverages. There's a parking deck, but I didn't even try. I managed to find a space on the street.

Nialani A.

Yelp
First time in the area. After searching "coffee" on Yelp, the name "bump & grind" sold me instantly. Hahaha Came in and order a cortado. Service was fast & friendly and the coffee was nice & strong.

Sara R.

Yelp
Love their buffalo soldier! My boyfriend would not stop about it being gluten free. So if that's important for you then BONUS POINTS! They have such a cute set up and offer free WiFi! So umd students check this place out! Can get busy sometimes but it's so worth it. And their hot chocolate is to die for. Especially in this cold we've been having. Snuggle up with tour boo, bring your laptop and watch some Netflix while you indulge.

Kiana L.

Yelp
Likely will not be back. I have had this on my list to try for a while and was extremely underwhelmed with my strawberry fields oat latte. It tasted more like a matcha which I am not a fan of. No strawberry flavor whatsoever. Barista was working alone so I didnt bother asking her to remake it as she was busy and I could tell flustered. We already had to wait about 8 minutes to place our orders but she was apologetic. I have my favorites in the area so I will stick to what I can trust.

April K.

Yelp
This was close to my airbnb and I loved the name, so here I am. First impression of this bright and airy cafe was the friendly people at the counter who recommended a breakfast burrito because I asked "do you have breakfasty egg like things?" when I only saw sweet stuff on the chalkboard menu. I ordered a cold brew coffee (yum) and hung out in a window seat while I waited on my burrito. It arrived and beat my expectations. They even toasted the outside so it was a tad crisp and didn't turn into a mushy mess. The place has a wall full of vinyl records and plays a variety of older, throwback music (jazz and R&B played while I was there.) I *think* you can pick a vinyl and play it while you are there. There is a cute patio and its off the street so it would be an awesome quiet place to hang out in milder weather. It was rainy today, so I ate inside. Love this little coffee shop and sad I was only able to visit once. I'll be back, as I visit this area a few times a year.

Destiny R.

Yelp
Bump 'n Grind is a great coffee shop in Silver Spring MD. Met a new coworker here on Tuesday and it was a calm and quiet place to talk, with lots of natural light and good hot chai. There were spaces to work and music playing, and they serve breakfast burritos and other food items. The staff is young and seems friendly.

Anita T.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop in Downtown Silver Spring. Convenient to those living in the surrounding apartment complexes. Very "Indie" feel and there is live music many evenings. Coffee/chai is sometimes a little weak. Service is friendly but slow.

Emanuel S.

Yelp
Great coffee and service. Some outdoor seating if you aren't in a rush and just want to sit end enjoy your beverage and/or food. They're keeping it safe for Covid. They do have some limited indoor seating if you want to do a bit of work, but no available wifi.

Yelp
TGIT...Thank God it's Telework...Day! Telework Day (def.); noun: The perfect day I look forward to weekly...to get mounds of work done remotely without your coworkers or assistant nagging you every single second! Coffee Break included!! --Urban Don Dictionary I stopped by this place while getting my car serviced and needed to knock out some work for a deadline. I had planned to go to Peete's Coffee Shop or Starbucks....but as I was walking I noticed Bump n' Grind on the way. It was much closer than the additional 1/4 mile I would of had to walk to get to closest Peete's or Starbucks. Besides, I decided to stop here because I looked like a lost mule hauling a laptop sling on my back, a briefcase on one arm, and a mammoth Statistical Method desk-reference book (on the other) up a steep hill to my destination....all while texting on my iPhone might I add. Bump n' Grind turned out to be the perfect spot and stop. Open-spaced layout, eclectic and unique..it is by far! There's plenty of space within it's layout and not over-crowded like alot of coffee shops around this area where you have to sometimes wait to find space or a seat. They serve a great mix of coffee-blends, lattes, drinks, breakfast items, local-sourced sandwiches and snacks! Meanwhile there is the greatest mix of music "Bumpin!' in the background. From Mick Jaguar, SWV, PM Dawn, Bobby Marley, Tina Turner, Jay Z, Frank Sinatra, U2...to David Bowie, Run DMC and Annie Lennox...the music vibe is contagious! Definitely makes your coffee stop or telework/commute enjoyable. I found myself noding my head to a couple of tracks, BankHead bouncing while typing....thinking...and knocking out my work with extreme focus. Before you know it...I got a call that my car was ready for pick up and it was time leave. I almost wanted to stay the rest of the day because by far this is one of the best coffee shops I have been to in a long while. There are ample tables, electrical outlets, couch seating and superfast Free-WiFi to keep you connected....or to simply, enjoy a good coffee moment unwired from the rest of the world. There is even a DJ-Music listening station where you can sample and listen to old-school Vinyl records adorning the walls. Talk about making a work day or coffee run go by with a breeze...this is your place. I was here for a couple of hours and the place never got over-crowded. Great for people like me with space issues or those who don't like people snooping over your laptop/phone to see what you are doing. #EspionageFree! Overall, I give this place 4 1/2 stars for their uniqueness, excellent espresso-coffee, support of local source food and supplying a great, creative workspace to my Telework Day. A 1/2/ star deduction, for having limitations on their coffee beverages...you will not find Vanilla Lattes, S'mores Macchiatos, etc.....or the plethora of blended drinks like at most commercial coffee shops. This could be a good and bad thing for some coffee consumers that prefer the specialty coffee beverage gamut....but personally for me, I like "Black Coffee...no Sugar no Creme!"...no pun intended...Heavy D; circa 1994 style. LOL In all, I am definitely a fan of this place and will be back. You don't find a lot of places that you could put in the "Best All-Around Coffee Shop" category for being able to get good coffee, food, snacks, ample seating-space, cool vibe and even an recreational vinyl record spin (if you wanted to)....all under one roof; in a comfortable environment like what Bump n' Grind offers. I don't see nothing wrong....with a little "Bump N' Grind!"

Jim W.

Yelp
My favorite local spot for coffee. And it doesn't hurt that they have really good bagels. Great staff, great attitudes, great music. Lots to love. They have outdoor seating, which really helps these days.

Barbara T.

Yelp
This place rocks. Great coffee, likable staff.

Libby F.

Yelp
This place is growing on me. My first visit didn't leave a great impression as it was extremely busy and there was nowhere to sit inside. It was really loud too. The key to a relaxing cup of tea, I just now discovered is to come in the afternoon. That is just what I did on a lazy Saturday afternoon just as I was recovering from a nasty case of bronchitis. I had been housebound for five days and was going stir crazy. The crowd was minimal, and quiet; no loud mouthed millennials thinking only of themselves. I had two women sitting across from me on the only two couches in the center of the coffeehouse. One had a baby in her arms, and they actual talked to each other using their indoor voices (Sorry, that's the teacher in me speaking)! I had an Assam 12oz tea ($2.50) and a Sticky Fingers (that means vegan for those not familiar) chocolate chip cookie ($3.00). I wasn't there to work, so I didn't need an outlet nearby. I did like the free Wi-Fi, so I could busy myself like most people do these days. The music was quirky, but not blaring. I am not sure what happens to the noise level in the evening though. I'll stick with daylight hours. I made sure to ask for a real mug for my tea, based on another Yelper's experience I now know to do that now. The gal behind the counter even brought me some 2% milk, per my request because I really don't like skim or half and half in my tea, which is all they have at the fixin' stand. It is nice to know Bump 'n Grind is down the street from me for the next time I need an afternoon indulgence.

Lisa N.

Yelp
This is one of the most chill coffee shops I've been to! My boyfriend and I decided to stop by for some coffee after getting dimsum and this was the closest coffee shop we could walk to. I got the iced chai latte which was really good! Super flavorful and it's in a mason jar mug! The aesthetic of the coffee shop was really cute. The couches were also comfortable!

Kristen B.

Yelp
A solid coffee place. I think the prices are quite reasonable for the DMV area. There's plenty of seating, so it's a great place to hang out on a weekend morning and kill some time reading. It's a pretty quick walk from the Silver Spring metro station, too.

Sahar R.

Yelp
Silver Spring, you don't know how lucky you are. I live in Bethesda and I drive out here to Silver Spring to get decent coffee. I love Kaldis and now I have one more great option. Bump n' Grind combines three of my favorite things: vinyl records, beer and coffee. I mean if you had hookah, a distillery, manatees, and a petting zoo then you would be pretty close to my idea of heaven. Basically Bump 'n Grind is a hybrid coffee shop/cafe/deli/bakery record shop. I came here during their very crowded soft opening, despite the crowds, the lines moved fast, and because of the sheer size of the place there were a ton of tables to lounge at. There are lots of tables here with lots of window space. Very inviting! The best part of the visit was that even though though the line was 30 people deep, when I was five people away from the register a barista leaned over and preemptively asked for my order so that by the time I paid for my mocha was ready. Basically no opening day kinks here. About the coffee, they use Vigilante coffee. They default to whole milk if you don't state your preference. My mocha had melted chocolate in it. Strong, mildly sweet and just a great roast. Great latte art too. Their case is loaded with pastries and to go wrapped burritos or a sandwiches by local guys Broodjes & Bier. I recommend the caprese sandwich. As for a hoppier beverage they have DC Brau on tap. Now for the music. I didn't get much time to browse the music selection (1,500 records in stock) but the records they had on display were interesting, more of the international, funk, electronic and jazz stuff, I didn't recognize many of the covers, which means I am not doing my research on Soundcloud. They plan on hosting future DJ sets or record release parties, and the DJs they had tonight were pretty talented. There are also two listening stations too. This place has so much to offer that once I get their wifi password, I will pretty much just live here. Despite the name of this place and the song reference, R. Kelly is not here so no need to hide yo wife and kids.

Mark C.

Yelp
Located on the other side of the shopping center away from Giant Food Grocery. This place takes both cash and credit card. Note that their ice coffee is cold brew coffee and not the ones you see in other coffee shops. This place is fairly large and gets ton of lighting from the various windows in front of the shop. I think this is a good place for social events. However, coming here to work / study might be a bit tough due to the music and large crowds. They do serve food here and provide free wifi for paid customers. Not sure if I will come back here as its a bit far from me. However, if you live close by, this is comparable to Peets coffee across the shopping center.

Kasey C.

Yelp
Met up with a friend here for coffee! I'm pretty indecisive when figuring out what I want...especially in coffee shops. The worker there was SUPER nice and helpful! They really know their menu so that was pretty awesome! I tried the latte w/ whole milk and, although pretty standard, it satisfied my needs for caffeine that day. Everything is pretty decently priced so I'm definitely going to try and come back here more often!

Andy B.

Yelp
I have to side with Mike B. on this one... B&G obviously takes its coffee very seriously, perhaps too much so, coming across in what I found to be unwelcoming vibe from the person behind the counter. Perhaps he just couldn't be more welcoming because of all of the things he needed to keep track of behind the counter, with timers and plungers and funnels and such. It all seemed rather forced to me, especially given the final product, something not rising to the level of all of that intricate preparation - quite surprising, especially since they start with Vigilante, some of the best coffee around. My cold brew wasn't any better than what I can make with my Toddy at home. (If you love cold brew coffee, you need to get one of those, so easy!) Given the prep methods, wait times are long. I don't mind waiting for a really good cup o'joe, but if this is their approach, they need to have more than one person behind the counter. Very few food options on this Sunday morning - just some croissants and bagels that didn't quite capture my attention. I had a ginger chocolate chip biscotti, which was a little on the softer side - not bad. For the most part, I liked the music, but perhaps it was a wee bit too loud for a relaxing Sunday morning with the New York Times. Some chill music would have been perfect, to ease into the day with. BTW, parking is tough around here, even on a Sunday morning, so unless you live nearby, the hassle factor might be more than it's worth. As for me, I'm heading elsewhere for my second cup this morning...

Yelp
This place was PACKED. Came around 1pm on a Saturday. Midday and almost half the pastries were gone. I'm surprised they didn't have more to restock. However, the barista was super nice! Parking isn't great. Had to find street parking. I love the vibe of this place. Just a nice little cafe! Giving it 4 stars because I feel like they could have more options for seating.

Yelp
My friend and I came to Bump n Grind right after Kaldi's Social House. The two have very different atmospheres. Bump n Grind is more gives off a more hipster vibe. It's brightly lit and gives is more of a relaxed setting. It's quiet so it would be a good place to come read a book and study. There is plenty of seating. There's street parking around and also a parking garage that you have to pay for. We ordered a 16oz Toasted Almond Tea and it was SO GOOD. It's loose leaf tea served in a tea pot. It's a light rose color and has a cinnamon spice smell. The aroma is stronger than the taste which is light and sweet with hints of the spices. I'll have to try the coffee next time.

Yelp
Not super impressed with Bump 'n Grind. I've been working remotely these days, so my judgment of a coffee shop has started including more things. This place just doesn't meet the basics. Coffee- okay, the cold brew I had was good. Food - the lox bagel special was underwhelming. First, I was given a plate with all the components on it, and I had to put it all together. The amounts of everything were a bit wonky. About a hundred capers in a little cup? Not necessary. About 1/4 of an onion and 4 slices of tomato? Also a bit excessive. A tiny cup of cream cheese? Could have used more. One and a half slices of lox? Take back some of that tomato and onion, and let me have more of what I want. There was nothing bad about this. It tasted fine. It just wasn't ideal. Internet - they print out a little piece of paper for you with a code that's good for only 2 hours of internet, and the code only works on 1 device. First of all, it seems really wasteful because usually that receipt paper can't be recycled. The 2-hour limit was a dealbreaker, too, because I had two back-to-back meetings to attend online, and it was going to go over that time limit. Space - quite a bit of seating, and not too crowded by the time I came in. Unfortunately for those at tables in the middle, there aren't outlets, and it looked like all the best seats with access to them were taken.

Yelp
We really try to be understanding of restaurants during covid but this was particularly bad. There were flies buzzing all sound the food and a moldy donut in the case. The coffee was so old it tasted fermented.

Yelp
I literally love this place so much!!! The lavender drip coffee w hemp milk is to die for, it's the only thing I get! The place is super hipster and the vibe is indicative of the perfect progressive coffee shop. Everyone here comes to study or do work or catch up with friends. There are outlets almost everywhere which makes it perfect to come and stay for a couple hours. Only thing that sucks is the WiFi is only granted for 2 hours then u have to go back and ask for another WiFi password slip. Not a big deal though because the workers have no problem giving u a new one. Highly recommend

Yelp
The coffee was great! I always get a cappuccino wherever I go to see their skills in how they make the coffee. It had the perfect amount of foam and the coffee tasted great. I came on a Sunday and it was very packed. Although it was packed, it was still quiet enough to get some work done. They have plenty of seating so if you get here early enough you could probably find a good place to sit. They have couches, benches, and individual tables. The food and coffee list wasn't too extensive. They have all the different varieties of coffee available. I will definitely try to come back to try their food. They have some simple things like baked goods and a short list of food that they make there. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a nice quiet spot to get some work done and have a good quality cup of coffee.

Yelp
Bump 'n Grind is amazing. I love how close this shop is to my apartment! Delicious lattes, and great baristas.

Yelp
Bump 'n Grind is a wonderful community coffee shop that plays vinyl records, makes great coffee, offers a comfortable space to do work & study, and hosts all sorts of community events. Be aware that WiFi is time bound and contingent on making a purchase. However, if you know you'll need a few cups or a bite to eat to power your work/study session, then it's definitely a good place to plan to visit. My wife and I stick to lattes and mochas when we stop by on the weekend, but I imagine everything is good. Bump 'n Grind also offers food (though it's not the reason to visit), and adult beverages (which are great during evening events).

Yelp
This is a cool spot that's only a short walk from the Silver Spring Metro station. I got a latte and my sister got the cappuccino, both very delicious and strong! They had live jazz music around the time we went which was a nice touch. It's a great spot for everyone; they had people working on laptops and families with kids hanging out. They have outlets and free WiFi with a 2 Hour time limit. To get the WiFi code you need to ask at the register and they'll print a piece of paper with a temporary code.

Yelp
I'd been super looking forward to coming here, so maybe I overhyped the place in my mind, but I'm not a fan and won't be returning. Not only was the place uncomfortably warm, staff was rude, and my latte was bad. Plus, while the made-to-order food seems interesting, the baked goods look like they came from the supermarket nearby. I ordered an iced caramel latte with almond milk. I had to repeat my order twice, only for the cashier to tell me they don't have caramel flavoring or almond milk on the second time. He starts laughing, but then offers vanilla with hemp milk. Perfect. That would work well. He walks away. Like, out the door away. A few minutes later, another staff member starts pulling my shots. He calls out the order "single shot iced hemp latte"'. I was aghast. When is there ever a single shot in a latte, unless maybe the place has sizes (truly great coffee shops tend not to offer sizes)? I taste it and ask if there is vanilla in it. There isn't. Original staff guy meanders over and is tasked with adding vanilla to my latte. I take a few sips and walk away with it, only to leave it on a table on my way out. It's gross, and the two guys working clearly don't know what they are doing, so there's no point in asking for a remake. I'm less mad about losing $6 than I am about trying to find parking in the area. It took me forever, and then I couldn't even get a decent latte. Pass.

Yelp
Here on a Sunday meeting with my pro bono team and loving it. Beautiful samba music playing in the background as we sit in the warmth of the sun in the large open space. Friendly service. Great coffee with sandwiches, local baked goods, vigilante chocolate and other items.
