Where to Go in Houston for a Fun Date Night - Eater Houston

"Exercise and entertainment combine at this sports facility, which features multiple pickleball and sand volleyball matches, plus a full-service bar, and an anticipated restaurant. Bring your A-game and reserve a pickleball court for $40 an hour, or drop-in during open play for just $7. If volleyball is more your thing, reserve a sand court for $50." - Brittany Britto Garley, Megha McSwain

PKL Social, Houston’s Newest Pickleball Sports Bar, Will Open This Fall - Eater Houston

"Though sports bars dedicated to pickleball are seemingly rare in Houston, PKL won’t be the first. East End sports bar Bumpy Pickle also celebrates the sport with nine pickleball courts private and group lessons, and other activities, like ping pong tables, darts, corn hole, mini-golf, and volleyball." - Brittany Britto Garley

The Bumpy Pickle Will Open in Second Ward With Nine Pickleball Courts - Eater Houston

"A quirky new sports bar is set to bring the game of pickleball to the Second Ward later this spring. The Bumpy Pickle, at 554 Lockwood Drive next to Eastwood Park, will have nine courts for the growing sport, plus five sand volleyball courts, and an indoor-outdoor bar area with almost two acres of space for social distancing. The bar is a project from Good Times LLC, who also opened Sports Creek in Eado in 2017, a bar that has soccer and volleyball courts and seasonal league play. Food-wise, the Bumpy Pickle will offer brunch, lunch and dinner, though exact details are scant. The bar will also serve craft beer and cocktails. The space will also eventually host concerts, private parties and corporate events." - Brittanie Shey

The location is really nice looking. And everyone was pretty friendly. I can’t speak to the actual food, but the drink selection seemed pretty lackluster. Would’ve been nice to be able to order a custom drink as it appears to be a full bar, but it’s really limited. the power went out a couple times but overall everybody was very accommodating of the birthday party that I was there celebrating.

I have been around this place since the founding and it has honestly been improving over the years. Daniel has been an incredible asset to the company and really has transformed the events i to an incredible experience. Highly recommend this place and to check out there yearly leagues and competitions.

Great place to play both pickleball and volleyball! The food is great, there is plenty of space to grab a table and hangout. Have played in several leagues and Daniel the sports manager does a great job organizing and making them fun! There are also tournaments in the weekends! Overall great place to spend time with friends

Arrived on a Sunday around 6 pm. My group did not have a reservation booked so we did the open courts available. This spot is all outdoors with multiple courts available as well as volleyball and ping pong. They make you pour your water out upon entering but the water jugs they had outside were empty or didn't have cups available if you didn't bring your own. The courts and areas are kept pretty clean which I found odd that they had people walking around picking up empty drinks but not refilling water jugs .... We were going to order at the bar but a server came up to us and brought us a menu. Not sure what the issue was, we had a group of 6 we all ordered the same seltzer half of us one flavor the other half the other and she brought back the wrong flavors and forgot a couple of drinks. We also ordered several appetizers and she again did not bring certain items. I did speak to another staff member saying they were having issues with the system but even after reminding her about the missing items she never brought them out... We didn't even bother ordering actual food items since we figured she wasn't even going to bring them out. Other than the service this place is cute with plenty to do and I was lucky to find parking right. I have to come again to see if that was just an off day for service I know it was hot and I'm not sure if our server was just over heated.

We hosted an event celebrating our friend and colleague being 5 years cancer free and we could not say enough great things about the service and hospitality we received. Daniel and his team did an exceptional job making this an incredible experience for our party. As someone who plans our work social events, the Bumpy Pickle will remain a top choice.

The communication and follow through with management was piss poor at best. I attempted to book a reservation through their website on 4/23 for sand volleyball court. When going through the website I clicked make reservation and it said that it could not be processed at this time. I clicked it again and it said the same thing. I then received two notifications that it charged my card twice (pictures provided). I immediately called them and explained my situation. They said that they did not see this on their end but checked and saw that there were in fact courts available for Friday from 7-9. They said that they would investigate and give me a call back. Took down all of my personal information as well. Cool? Wrong. I did not receive a call back and waited until the next day (4/24) to call again to see if they figured everything out. The lady that answered did not know what I was talking about stated the managers were in a meeting and they would get back to me. I reiterated that I just wanted the one reservation and just to make sure the other one did not actually process. I also asked if they could please provide an email receipt at their earliest convenience. She said that could easily be done and that the day and time was still available. AGAIN did not receive a call. Checked my account and both charges weren't processed but again still wanted my one reservation that they said was available. Had to call back today which they did not answer. Had someone else call for me. (They answered for them) and when I finally get In touch with someone re explained my situation and asked could I just book through the phone since there website is having issues they hit me with "oh we are booked now". Friday plans ruined so to poor follow through and communication. Will not be doing business with them. Figure out your systems.

Great place. Tons of parking, full bar, nice courts you can reserve in advance. Food is really good for a bar. Fun place to hang with friends and grab a drink while being active. Will be back for sure, highly recommend
