"Bún Chả Cá 109 serves up a Da Nang specialty: vermicelli rice noodles in a fish and seafood broth, topped with bamboo shoots, cabbage, pineapple, fish balls, and crab cakes." - Joshua Zukas

"In business for over five decades, it is now run by the third-generation owner. The sign indicates the house speciality – bún chả cá, or fishcake noodle soup. Springy and flavoursome, their house-made deep-fried and steamed fishcakes deserve all the attention they get. But extra tuna, mackerel, crab cake and crab balls make the noodle soup even better. The broth is sweet with a hint of sourness, thanks to pineapple and tomatoes." - Michelin Inspector

I enjoyed an excellent first experience with Fish Cake Noodle Soup in Da Nang. The flavour was exceptional, particularly after adding the toppings on the table as advised by the restaurant owner. An English menu is conveniently available on the wall. My order was noodles with fish balls, crab balls, and crab meat. The Black Rice Yogurt dessert is also highly recommended.

Ordered the fish and crab paste/balls noodle. Clear soup, mild sweet flavour, hearty bowl of goodness. Now they're Michelin rated 2 years in a row but the food is still cheap.

My family and I stopped by this restaurant for dinner. They have very good fish cake noodle soup. The broth was so tasty. Their service was alright. The only downside was that some of the vegetable leaves, such as lettuce, mint leaves, and cilantro were not fresh

Wow, this bun bha ca is delicious. The soup is very complex, savory and not fishy per se, there's definitely some spice in there, very tasty. The fish patties are pillowy and have great texture. The noodles are nicely blanched and perfectly cooked. I loved that they added young bamboo sprouts to the soup which I haven't tasted in ages. I added tuna steaks to my meal and they were perfectly cooked, peeling away from the central bone easily. Definitely the best bun cha ca I've had. 55k for a very generous bowl.

We ate bun Cha CA here today and ordered the #1 bun cha ca+ can hoi ( tuna) and #5 ( bun Cha CA + rieu + Cha cua) but instead they gave us #5 and #6. Totally messed up the order badly on both bowls. I told them where the tuna is and they stunned so I said that's alright I'll keep this bowl just give me the extra tuna on the side. They ended up charging me extra for the tuna ( their mistake) when I checked out. I complained and they argued back and said they put rieu in that bowl which I don't think they did. Customer service is so bad. There are people coming to the shop and trying to sell us snacks, trinkets, and lottery tickets so it's super weird to tell them no and they kept pushing us to buy stuff from them. Guilt trip Vietnam style.

Delicious Vietnamese fish soup noodles that deserves the recommendation from Michelin. The soup tastes sweet and sour quite like tom yum but without the spicy part. Cooking the soup with pineapples probably contributed to its soury taste. The handmade crab meat balls are tasty and soft. Fishcakes are a bit rough and tough but the sweet taste of the fish paste is strong. I ordered the crabmeat, fishballs option (60kVND) on the first visit and tried the mackerel option (60kVND) on my next visit. Both are equally good. The mackerel tastes fresh even after cooked till very soft. They are quite accustomed to foreigner customers therefore placing orders is not a problem.

Bún Chả Cá 109 in Đã Nâng is a no-fuss gem that delivers on both flavor and speed. I sampled their number 1 Fosh Ball Noodles + Tuna, and the broth was outstandingly delicious—rich and full of depth—while the generous helping of noodles ensured you left satisfied. The service was quick and efficient, making it a great spot for a fast, tasty meal. Just be prepared for crowds; this place is a local favorite, often bustling with Vietnamese patrons. Overall, it’s a must-visit if you’re in the area and looking for authentic, hearty Vietnamese noodles.

Bun Ca is a dish you can’t miss when you’re in Danang. This location has been open since 1968, spanning three generations with heritage from Hue. The broth is lovely, and the ingredients are fresh. It's a truly fine bowl of fish noodle soup in town.
