We loved this place. Having been to Vietnam, we always seek out a Pho when we can. This one was really tasty. The meat was really tender. We also had a yummy salad the iced coffees were also really tasty. Our server was friendly and the food was brought out quickly. A great stop for quick fresh Vietnamese food.

This is a place with a well thought out ambiance and branding, starting with a rusted metal door entrance that gives it a dash of an industrial feel and continuing on with tin metal trays reminiscent of a hospital cafeteria - all chick, and all wrapped up in bright warm cozy light emanating from white and red walls covered with halftone style advertisements. The place feels clean, modern, spacious and minimalistic. Great for a lunch time meeting. Now on to the food, the sandwiches are good - very fresh ingredients where the highlight is firm, slightly crunchy bread that’s wide enough to fit all the ingredients snuggly. I don’t think the sandwich was stellar, but it was definitely well made. The sweet potato fries are also good. Nothing particularly memorable, but tasty nonetheless. Now if you are from the south - south U.S.A that is , you may like the drinks a lot. They are way too sweet for me, but others may find them just right. I had to dilute mine with a little bit of water. The service was top notch- polite and efficient. I think this place is great to have an office team lunch.

Better than I thought. I’m used to the average hole-in-the-wall places with 1) very kind aunties and 2) that tend to serve pho alongside, but this spot matches up very well in terms of service. This location in particular felt very refined and modern (and I speculate the rest are so). If you wanna escape the hustle and bustle of SF for some good food, Bun Mee’s not a bad choice. Ingredients are fresh, bread is just right (crunchy on the outside yet fluffy on the inside), and fries are spiced generously. Thank you for respecting my request for no cilantro too :). Only thing I would suggest is to either make the fries slightly thicker—not as thick as the ‘chips’ in “fish and chips”—or to add more protein to the sandwich. Especially starting at $12.75 a piece, I feel like that’s the only thing missing. Haven’t tried the bowls or drinks but I’m guessing that would complement the other options nicely. So yeah: good joint for a quick lunch or even a longer brunch break.

Seriously delicious food! I usually order takeout, but every time it’s perfect. I love the 5 spice chicken banh mi, salt and pepper garlic fries, and the taro coconut cream cloud drink.

When you’re craving, casual, simple and delicious Vietnamese food without the reservation fuss, this place is worth the visit! The staff is friendly and the place is tidy. I’d like to see some more decor or maybe some table games to play while waiting for the food to be delivered to our table.

Ordered classic combo, almost no pork—all pickled carrots. Sad little sandwich. Go to a real Vietnamese restaurant and not this franchise that has degraded over time.

We ordered lemongrass pork banh mi. Food arrived quickly and was delicious. Perfect quick dinner. Everything was fresh, well seasoned and proportioned. Service was friendly and warm.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of bun mee. I've been going to the location on Fillmore Street and figured it would be the same. Yum. We went there today to pick up sandwiches to take to Moscone. It's the first weekend of spring! The sandwiches are so good. They ask if you want jalapeños and of course, we do! I got the tofu bun mee because it's the only vegetarian option. He got the first item on the sandwich menu which was the five spice chicken. The bread is crunchy and fresh. Yum! I love the ratio of carrots and cilantro. I'm taking one star off my delicious experience because they have beer and wine on their menu, but don't have their liquor license apparently to serve. They should just cover up that part of their menu to be transparent. If you do want beer or wine, go to Marina Deli otherwise, get Vietnamese New Orleans style coffee.

Yelp
I am soooo happy a bun mee opened in the marina. There bun mee sandos are the best I have had in the city and its location near chestnut is ideal for marina bites. I have also tried the noodles but the sand which is far superior imo. Friends staff and wait times for food was short. PLEASE DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND GO HERE!

Yelp
I would've taken a photo of my food, but when I came here, it had been a full day since I'd last eaten. I got the lemongrass tofu banh mi with a side of salt & pepper fries and devoured it. I've been to three Bun Mee locations, and the Marina location is on top of it. Their ingredients are fresh, and the food is packed full of flavour. Def recommend this place for some tasty eats!

Yelp
I was excited to see another Banh Mi spot open up in the Marina. I got a chicken banh mi and crispy egg rolls. I used to go to Asian Box nearby for Banh Mi in the area and this one was a lot better -- it was packed with veggies but still didn't feel like too much, the chicken was tender, and the bread was a good texture. The crispy egg rolls and sauce it came with were rich in flavor as well! My friend got a lemongrass tofu and enjoyed it as well, and mentioned this would become a go to spot for her. The service was good as well and prices were reasonable. This is a good spot for affordable, quick, high quality food!

Yelp
Bun Mee opened last week in the Marina but I discovered this location yesterday while walking the dog. I stopped by for takeaway lunch & ordered the classic combo sandwich without jalapeño or onions & a golden milk tea boba. The dining room is a decent size for a quick meal if you're planning on dining in & neat & clean. My sandwich was ready in less than 10 minutes. The baguette was nice & crispy & the filling was a generous amount of pate, mortadella & lemongrass pork. The cucumbers & pickled daikon & carrots added brightness & additional flavor. It's a pretty big sandwich so I only ate half. The golden milk boba tea is actually black tea with milk, boba & sugar. It runs on the sweet side. Service is quick, friendly & helpful. Welcome to the Marina neighborhood Bun Mee! I'm glad that I don't have to go to the Tenderloin for a good Vietnamese sandwich & will return to try other menu items soon,

Yelp
Bun Mee nailed their crispy fried chicken bun! The chicken contained all the crispy and juicy goodness you expect from fried chicken and was elevated with the fluffy bun, slaw and sauce! SOO GOOD! The young man who took our order on 11/2, midday was very welcoming and helpful, proving that good customer service elevates any dining experience. We also had another person (perhaps the manager) come out and check on us which was more than what I would expect from a order at the register restaurant. Restaurant was clean with plenty of indoor seating. Bun Mee definitely won me over today!

Yelp
I came in on a Saturday at lunch time and I was the only one there. I got a Classic Combo sandwich and some sort of strawberry lemonade type drink that I think they make themselves. They have a good amount of seating (inside only) if you want to eat there. The bread was nice and crispy, but I was underwhelmed by the pork- it was kind of chewy. The mortadella was sliced so thin and there wasn't much so you could hardly taste it. Pate was good but I would have liked more. Pickled veggies were nice and crisp. Drink was good and not too sweet! Staff was very nice.

Yelp
Top notch service. They had really friendly counter staff people that remembered your name, which was appreciated. Food came out fast, and food was yummy! Good portion size too. Plenty of seating indoors that I enjoyed. I will likely be back

Yelp
Banh mi in the Marina? Much needed! I ordered the five spice chicken and it was super tender, with good flavor. They give a decent amount of meat. The bread I enjoyed since it wasn't too toasted, a bit softer than a baguette. Overall, ingredients tasted fresh and high quality.

Yelp
The sandwich was super fresh and yummy. I ate the five chicken spice banh mi (bun mee) and the Ingredients were flavorful and the chicken was moist. I also ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee which was also very good but a little on the pricey side in my opinion. The lady that took my order was great. Super friendly. Made some great recommendations. Asked me how I was doing in life. If I had a family. If I lived in the city. My favorite movie. Just kidding. She only asked how I liked the sandwich but I felt like she was going to ask all those other things. Anyway - check it out. Great food.

Yelp
I ordered bun mee take out for delivery. I got the 5 spiced chicken banh mi and it was better than I expected! The chicken was well seasoned and tender. I chose to get japalenos on the side bc I wasn't sure how much spice I wanted. Overall, I would definitely get this again!

Yelp
Bun Mee was solid and likely a repeater, albeit not a total slam dunk. It's important to note that the people there were super friendly and accommodating with making recommendations, guiding me toward vegetarian options and hooking us up with extra dressing and sauce. The Rainbow Salad was fresh and appealing but could use some help in the flavor department. The green goddess dressing was nice but could use more salt and a greater quantity to better coat the salad fixings. Plus, it wouldn't hurt for them to mix it in for you even if it might hamper the titular "rainbow" presentation. The tofu was really well seasoned but the overall salad suffered from a bolus of cabbage that overwhelmed the flavor of the tofu and the dressing. Overall, I think it's just tweaks away from a really good dish but needs some massaging.

Yelp
Efficient service. Good food. Even checked back to fill water while eating. Had better banh mi sandwich but still good. Wish the jalapenos were spicier but I guess it can vary by time. Sweet potato fries were a hit. Five spice potato fries were yummy as well.

Yelp
Hawker Rice bowl with garlic ribeye steak os very flavorful and tasty. Pork lemongrass sandwich is also great. The service is quick and staff are friendly. Place is clean and airy. We'll be back.

Yelp
I received a coupon in the mail and decided to give Bun Mee a try. I am really glad I did! I ordered the Mama Tran's Crispy Egg Rolls, the Ribeye Steak Dip, and the Crunchy Saigon Chicken Salad. Everything was outstanding! The egg rolls had a thin, crispy outside and were absolutely stuffed with filling. This is the way egg rolls should be made. The dipping sauce was light and flavorful and really brought out the flavor of the egg roll. The ribeye steak was another delightful surprise! The steak was plentiful, the bean sprouts were super fresh, and the baguette was lightly crisp on the outside and soft in the middle as if it had just come out of the oven. The pho broth was light, savory and the perfect complement to the sandwich. This sandwich was delicious without the dip and next level with the dip! The salad was my favorite. I was a little hesitant to order it because I am not a big fan of cabbage. They changed my view on cabbage. The cabbage was shredded so thin I didn't even realize I was eating cabbage. There were also small slivers of carrot, discs of cucumber, crispy wontons and a nice mix of herbs. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the dressing was unbelievable! This is hands down the best salad in the Marina. What I ordered was more than enough to share with someone else and I could not recommend this new gem in the Marina any higher. There is no question I will be back, and it will probably be tomorrow!!! Do yourself and favor and try this place :)

Yelp
I'm so obsessed with this place. The food is absolutely delicious and so satisfying. And the portions are huge so you definitely feel like you get your moneys worth. I got the bowl with pork and it was incredible, I can't wait to go back!!

Yelp
So excited to have this location in the Marina. I ordered the spicy wings and spicy fries. I was pleasantly surprised on the generous serving size of both items. The wings were crispy and juicy on the inside, and the fries were crispy with a nice hit of jalapeños. Very reasonably priced too, given how expensive takeout has become in SF.

Yelp
this place is great! super friendly service, and truly excellent food. very glad we stopped in, the menu isn't overwhelming and the coffee & tea drinks are great. would absolutely come back.

Yelp
So thrilled to finally have a location of Bun Mee in the Marina! After living here for five years my one complaint was how hard it is to find good lunch options that are generally affordable on or near Chestnut Street. Bun Mee is perfect for this area. We ordered two sandwiches and spring rolls for lunch, and the quality and care put into making the food items were clearly there. Everything was delicious and super affordable, we will definitely be back for lunch and dinner on a regular basis.
