Best Restaurant’s Houston’s Asiatown | Eater Houston

"Further down the stretch of Bellaire Boulevard, in the My Hoa Food Market strip center, this no-fuss restaurant serves a variety of traditional, lesser-known Vietnamese dishes. Start off with the banh khot — mini crunchy and savory pancakes topped with shrimp, then opt for a bowl of robust and pungent bun mam, a fermented fish noodle soup. For something more adventurous, try the signature Pha Lau Houston, a rich and herbal pork meat and offal stew served with crusty French bread for dipping." - Eater Staff

Bún Nhân Quán-Phá Lấu Houston

Tri Dinh

Google
I ordered the Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm and Phá Lấu, and both dishes were outstanding. The Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm was incredibly flavorful — the tofu was crispy on the outside and soft inside, the noodles were fresh, and the herbs added the perfect aroma. The shrimp paste dipping sauce (mắm tôm) was strong, rich, and exactly how it should be — a true taste of Vietnam. It’s definitely for those who appreciate authentic, bold flavors! The Phá Lấu was another hit — tender, savory, and full of comforting spices. It’s hard to find phá lấu done right, but this one was spot-on.

If you're looking for a place with great atmosphere, this isn't it. I'll be honest, we almost didn't stay when we went inside because the fermented shrimp paste smell was so strong and gave a dirty icky feeling. But if you're looking for good food, then you've come to the right place. They have a very large menu at reasonable prices and the staff was very friendly and courteous. There is an assortment of Vietnamese dishes from the North all the way to the South, enough to delight everyone's pallette. We had a party of 12 and everyone enjoyed their dish, even the ones that wanted to leave at first.

If you’re sensitive to the potent aromas of fermented shrimp paste, then be careful coming here. Otherwise, I enjoyed this restaurant! The banh khot was super crispy and light. The fish sauce paired perfectly as the dipping sauce, which made up for the lack of seasoning on the shrimp. The portion sizes were fantastic. They were very generous with the herbs for all the dishes we ordered. Alongside the food, I also enjoyed the presentation of the dishes on imitation bamboo weaving plates. Most of the dishes came out pretty quickly.

My opinion, I think this broken rice dish has the same flavor as 95% of broken rice dishes in Vietnam. OMG 🥹🥹 It was delicious, and I was surprised because the portions here were very large. So they prepared boxes, spoons, and plastic bags for you to serve yourself and take away ( that was a good point 🤗 )

Wanted to try Bun Nhan Quan, but I don't see myself returning here. Banh khot (12pc) was delicious and the highlight of the meal. Other dishes tried were below average. - Hu tieu mi kho (dry version): Biggest gripe was the meats (75-80% were pork intestine/kidney/liver; only found a few pork slices & some ground pork) - Bun rieu: ok but a bit oily - Bun bo hue: broth was mid Workers could be more friendly. Bathroom was also a little icky.

I was looking around to find banh khot and my wife’s acquaintance had recommended this spot. We really enjoyed our visit here. The banh khot here was a great find. Banh Khot Vung Tau was my choice of the two options available. While we visited for the banh khot, the other items we had there were good too. The spicy shrimp noodles was delicious. I’d recommend to ask for some fresh chilies and mix it in with the sauce that comes with the banh khot. Service was friendly and courteous. I’d definitely come back again. Would highly recommend.

If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food, you'll definitely find it at Bun Nhan Quan. They have a very extensive menu with a variety of items to choose from. This restaurant also has communal seating. Please keep this in mind if you're more used to a private dining experience. This was our first time sitting with other people and it took a few minutes before we got acclimated. We ordered some of the most popular dishes and they were all on point! Banh Khot - These mini shrimp pancakes were light and crispy, very delicious 😋 Bun Dau Mam Tom - This dish comes with rice noodles, meats, herbs, tofu, and shrimp sauce. Extremely fresh and authentic! Phal Lau Houston - This is basically an offal stew with bread. Definitely flavorful but the seasoning was leaning more on the sweeter side. Bot Chien - These fried taro cakes were fried to perfection. Card payments are accepted but a discount will be given for those who pay with cash 😊 For the overall experience, will definitely recommend just for the food alone. The communal seating is the only drawback.

Overall: decent place to hit up for viet food, especially if you’re craving later in the night. Food: came here for the bot chien and it was definitely tasty - just let it soak in the sauce! The bun bo hue was alright but nothing too amazing. Price was a little more expensive than I’d like as it was $17 per dish Service: could’ve been better imo as it took forever for our food to come out (maybe like 25-30 mins) but it did seem like we came when the store was already packed at night. Our server was nice though and we communicated in viet Atmosphere: the layout gives me authentic viet restaurant vibes as the seating arrangement was share style with other parties and the condiments were just there on the table already. The random viet videos on the tvs was the final touch lol

Yelp
I came here with my family, and I think this is my new go to spot for Vietnamese food. The food is made on the spot, and any fried stuff comes out sizzling and absolutely delicious. Nothing is too salty when we ate. Their sauce was a good balance of tartness combined with the dish. Oc Nhay - Hap Sa - (Lemongrass conch snail) - the broth was very flavorful, and for the amount of snails they provide for that price was unbeatable. We ended up drinking the whole broth. Banh Khot Vung Tau - Seafood mini shrimp pancake - Absolutely delicious. Takes about 15 minutes for them to make because each batter has to be pour individually. They usually have a combination of meat, shrimp, and squid, but we opted for just seafood. Bun Dau Mam Tom - one of my favorite dishes - it's a combination of meat intestine with some very crispy tofu and fishcake. I'm not a fan of their packed noodles, but everything else was top-notch. Service was great, ambience great for family and friends. Lastly, it was so good that my family ended up going again this same week, and the food quality was still as great as we remembered it. Will definitely come again.

Yelp
Heard about Bun Nhan Quan by word of mouth. Was excited to try banh khot (12pc), and it was delicious. The entree was a different story. Out of the options on their menu, I ordered hu tieu mi kho (dry version). Taste was meh. Biggest gripe was the meats. Didn't expect for 75-80% of the meats to be pork intestine/kidney/liver. Only found a few pork slices along with ground pork. Tried some of the bun rieu; it was ok but a bit oily. Bun bo hue broth was also mid. There are definitely other Bellaire restaurants with better tasting hu tieu/bun rieu/BBH. Workers don't seem friendly. We dined as a party of 4. Friend tried to go up to the cashier and pay for her bowl first. The worker all of a sudden yelled at our table from the register saying the bill can only be split into 2. NBD... we're ok with that... I don't see myself coming back here :/

Yelp
The first thing I want to mention is the service was pretty good. We were seated immediately , and the servers were very attentive. They have plenty of options to choose from. Price was from $14 to $20, but their potion was good. Their seasoning is kind of south east Vietnam region, which is a little bit sweet and salty. We ordered the tomyum soup, stir fried vermicelli with crab, and fried rice cake with eggs. The Tomyum soup was spot on. The vermicelli and rice cake were decent. I have to take one star out because the restaurant was super crowded, like they trying to get customers as much as possible. We barely could move between seat. Of courses, it was super noisy. Not recommended if you want some personal space or have a cozy dinner. Overall, I will come back to try more.

Yelp
My whole life I've only ever known Vietnamese food to be pho, rice plates, and banh mi's. Coming here blew away my mind because almost every dish was something that I had never had before - it was like I was exploring an entire new world. My absolute favorites were the Banh Kot and the Bot Chien. I think the sauce that comes with the Bot Chien pairs really well with the Banh Kot. The Banh Kot carries such a nice, coconutty flavor profile. Ask for your egg to be overeasy for the Bot Chien! This place is so authentic that apparently there's only 1 staff member that speaks english. Tip: They offer a 5% discount if you pay in cash

Ellie D.

Yelp
Food: Soup broth is too sweet. Nothing outstanding. Price: on the expensive side and 18% included for service for a party of 4 adults and 2 kids. The thing is, other than bringing food to us, no other service provided!! Not even come by just to ask if we need anything else or how's our food. The restaurant is not even busy. Waiters and waitresses were talking to each other. Will not be coming back!
google avatar

Yelp
What a super unique dish. I have never tried this before and it was very interesting and delicious. The intestine soup has a super rich and creamy flavor. I don't think you can find this anywhere else and recommend you to try it at least once. The restaurant was fairly modern and had a good staff and clean atmosphere. Lovely spot!

Yelp
Just your typical Vietnamese diner, food tastes decent but service isn't great at all. The big guy serving our food had dirty hands, touching his face sweat then handing us our food. Our entree came out first then our appetizer 10 min after. I won't be coming back considering there's so many viet restaurants all over Bellaire.

Yelp
Amazing authentic viet food in Bellaire! Two biggest thing that attracted me to come here was the Bot Chien (fried taro cake) & Banh Khot (mini shrimp pancake) & both did not disappoint. They had an excellent crunch and tasted delicious. The portion size was great as well and perfect for sharing with a group of 4. Excellent two appetizers. The Vietnamese coffee was also strong and tasty! I wanted to try something i've never tried before and soupy-ish so I ordered the Banh Canh Cua. It was quite tasty, seafood/crab based dish and came with udon noodles, shrimp, pork, veggies, blood sausage. It hit the spot! The Com Tam Dac Biet was amazing as well. They most importantly used broken rice which makes a huge diff in this dish. Portion size was good and filling. They used pork And marinated well. The scallion grilled scallops was also a unique dish. Paired well with the peanuts, scallions and sauces you could top it off with. Good amount of seating and parking is within the My Hoa plaza. Payment will be taken at the cashier. The servers were also attentive as well. Deff get the Bot Chien & Banh Khot!!!

Yelp
Ordered Banh Khot to go and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. Flavor tasted very authentic and I called in the order and the food was ready within the next 10 minutes upon arrival. Service was quick and ambience felt like a normal Vietnamese location, averagely clean. I did notice there was a sign saying that there is an automatic creativity on parties of five or more so that is something to keep in mind if choosing to dine with a large party . overall, the food was good and if I were back in the area and craving banh khot, I would come again.

Yelp
Yummy food! 1st time here today. Since the menu doesn't have photos, I relied heavily on the Yelp photos to choose the dishes. The clams could be more tender though, extra chewy.
google avatar

Kelly D.

Yelp
The day I had bun mam, the broth was quite salty. To be honest, I didn't particularly like the annatto oil color in the broth. They've apparently modified the recipe since then.

Yelp
The food here is very authentic and delicious! Came here for lunch and they were busy but seated us immediately. Service was fast and friendly! Every dish we tried tasted amazing. Food came out hot and fresh. We loved their banh khot and grilled scallops so much that we had to order another round. Their noodle/bun soup bowls were also delicious! We tried their bun mam and it was worth it! Highly recommend this place and we will be returning!
google avatar

Yelp
The food tasted really authentic. Our favorites would have to be the Banh Khot Vung Tau and Banh Khot. They were crisp to perfection at the edges and full of flavor, the nuoc mam and veggies paired perfectly with it. Also ordered the Oc Canada (snails), the seasoning was delicious, but felt like they skimped on the quantity for the price we paid for. Didn't get a picture of the grilled squid or the grilled scallops that we also ordered. Grilled squid was yummy but was pretty spicy, the sauce that it came with has a kick to it as well but was so good. The grilled scallops was the worst dish we had ordered. Scallops tasted like it had freezer burn and no flavor even though it was doused in the garlic onion, almost tasted plasticky. Inside can get pretty hectic and loud but I guess it kind of gives off the local Vietnam vibes. Servers were meh, felt rushed to order and they were not very attentive when it comes to refilling waters, but honestly kind of expected for a Vietnamese joint. Overall, I would still come back here to try some other dishes and the Banh Khot Vung Tau again!

Yelp
Great food especially the selection of clams and cockles and snails. Will definitely come back to try out everything on the menu.

Yelp
I visited this newish vietnamese restaurant one Sunday for lunch. I heard it had a lot of similar dishes from other vietnamese restaurants, but they just cook it differently here. I came with a small group, and we tried a couple of apps (banh bot chien and banh khot) and several dishes. I wasn't in the mood for their soups, so I just stuck to something interesting they make, chicken fried rice. The chicken fried rice is not what most would think, instead it's a fried chicken quarter with an orange marinade, along with a side of fried rice, acup of pho broth, a weird orange sauce to dip your chicken, and a cup of soy sauce. Pretty simple sish but it was pretty tasty. Overall, though, service was just average at best as this is Chinatown, the far western extent to be exact.

Yelp
Came here with a friend when we were feeling a bit adventurous and wanted to try Vietnamese food that we haven't tried before. The restaurant itself was a lot bigger than I expected, and had an ample amount of seating! We ordered bun mam, pha lau, and bot chien, but I was eyeing all the other food on the menu too! Other than the bot chien, I had no idea what to expect for the dishes that we had ordered. The bun nam was very light and still flavorful from the fish and vegetables inside. The pha lau reminded me of the special tripe dish I sometimes order at dimsum restaurants, and the banh mi that came with it was sooo delicious/had the perfect crunch and fluff. Everything was solid, and I really want to come back to try other items on the menu!

Yelp
One of those hole in the wall kind of place. Walking in, you can pretty much expect that the Viet food will be good. They do have English on the menu and the staff speaks a bit of English. It was a bit crowded but we got seated after a few minutes of waiting. They have a variety of Viet dishes on the menu from soup noodles, appetizers, and seafood. Their banh bot chien is probably one of their most popular dish and it was extra crispy. Exactly what you would expect it to be and the sauce goes so well with it. The bun rieu oc is what I was looking forward to because it's one of those Viet dish that you don't see it often on the menu. I'm always looking for the best I can find and this one was at the top of the list. Flavorful broth and you can tell from looking at the color. We also had the pha lau which was my first time trying. Not everyone's cup of tea. It's like a curry broth with offal so beware if this isn't something you're used to. Also comes with bread to dip in the broth. Service was a bit slow, it was packed inside. Definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Let me just start with saying that this place does their Bún (noodle soup) dishes very well. From Bún bò huế (spicy beef noodle soup) to Bún riêu (crab&pork tomato noodle soup) , their noodle soup dishes are phenomenal and brings forward the culture of Vietnamese cuisine. Their portions are no joke, they include every detail like tofu and chả while maintaining a flavorful broth in each dish. For the more explorative peeps, the Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm (vermicelli with fermented shrimp paste) the sauce was tasty (sweet)! This is not a dish that you can commonly find so it was nice to see it being highlighted as their special dish. The Bánh khọt (mini savory pancakes) was a fun dish to eat if you wanted to change up the texture. It was a great crunchy mixture of sweet and savory with the coconut and nước mắm (fish sauce), this dish has to be eaten quickly as they get soggy after being left out. The place can get crowded on a weekend with a bigger party (ours was 10 people) but the service was quick and our food came out in an orderly manner. I would definitely recommend this place as it does a great job showcasing Việt food.

Yelp
Bun mam was pungent (in a good way) and full of flavor. I loved the addition of eggplant. The giant chili pepper took me for a surprise because I thought it'd be the spice level of a bell pepper but it was in fact the spice of a Thai chili pepper. Definitely add some chili paste or oil as well as lime to elevate the broth. The banh bot chien was nothing special, but I liked the fresh bite of papaya. As for the pha lau, I enjoyed it a lot actually! For someone who doesn't usually enjoy intestines, these were pretty easy to eat and the broth was very savory and delicious.

Hillary N.

Yelp
We came here Saturday morning-ish for lunch. The place is clean. It wasn't busy...yet. Ordered the Banh khot shrimp and meat. It was the prefect crispy on the outer edge and soft toward the middle. With coconut flavors you can taste and smell. Balanced. Also got the bot chien, which was fried perfectly. This was more or less like fried batter. Still good. I would come back. Service was good.

Yelp
def one of the best viet spots in houston and a spot i keep coming back to! more expensive compared to other spots but the portions are large and i always have leftovers. there's a lot of different items on the menu so there's something for everyone. everything ive had so far has been really good but it is on the sweeter side. their bánh bột chiên and bánh khọt are both super crispy! the grilled meat that comes with the cơm tấm đặc biệt is also marinated really well and the nuoc mam/sauce it comes with has a unique flavor i think it has kumquat (?) tip: - if you need extra spice make sure to ask them for fresh chili peppers - if you pay with cash you get a 5% discount ig: @whatsviveating

Yelp
Parking lot was pretty packed by the restaurant so it was a hot stroll to the restaurant. It's not as small but it's very packed inside. We ordered the bun rieu oc, Banh khot, the organs in coconut broth and butter garlic sauce. The bun rieu was good, the oc was good. I didn't like that organ in the coconut broth. I've never had it and I won't try it again. I like organs in a ginger dip sauce which they do give you. The Banh khot was ok. It was crispy outside but I did not like how mushy the inside of it was. I've never had Banh khot with a mushy interior. We'll be back to try other dishes.

Yelp
We came here when we visit Houston, and even my picky Vietnamese parents gave this place 5 Stars! The bo luc lac was my favorite, it was so tender and flavorful with big chunks of garlic. The rice it comes with is delicious as well!

Yelp
This is quite possibly one of the best Vietnamese hole in the wall places you'll ever eat at. I saw a few photos of some potential dishes and knew exactly what I wanted to order. I was mostly sold on the banh khot dish and bot chien. Everything else, I wanted to be a surprise. Bun Rieu - there was so much depth of flavor in the broth. the noodles were nice and chewy with a bite. the tofu was soaked in broth and bursting with umami flavor. the tomatoes had a balance of soggy to firm ratio. and lastly the shrimp meatball was delectable Banh Bot Chien - quite the take on fried egg and fried rice/tapioca cake. the crispiness of the fried banh bot chien was possibly one of the best fried goodness that has landed in my mouth. dip it in the sauce they provide and its pure goodness. the fried egg is on top and not cracked and cooked in between. Banh Khot - ah the BEST dish of the visit. the crunch to soft ratio, plus every bite I took just put my soul into heaven. I didn't want it to end, even when my stomach was coming to it's fullness. The dish took a bit of time to come out and it was well worth the wait. I couldn't stop smiling of how good this dish was. I even posted it on instagram and received so many responses of where to find it. I wasn't going to gatekeep, cause I want my friends to know where to find this gem. Salted Kumquat - I feel as though this is an acquired taste. If you didn't grow up drinking this, then it might not be for you. But for me, it was delicious! Just wait for the ice to dilute a little bit and it's perfection. No one speaks an ounce of English, and that's when you know this place is legit. Authentic. Quite possible one of the best Vietnamese hole in the wall. It's enough for me to bring my mom here to not miss out on.

Yelp
I had this placed bookmarked and I'm not actually sure where I heard about it but I was showing a friend the photos one night and we decided to make the long trip out during rush hour traffic to give it a try. The restaurant looked like any hole-in-the-wall on Bellaire, not nice by all means, but clean and there were lots of regulars during dinner time, which was a good sign. My friend ordered the Bun Mam (fermented fish noodle soup) and I ordered the Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup). My son had the Banh Canh (Tapioca Noodle in a Pork broth and I had to try the lemongrass snails. The dishes looked fantastic when they came out. My friend said the Bun Mam was a bit on the sweet side and wasn't the best she's had. I had to agree with that statement when it came to the Bun Bo Hue as well. Though there was a decent amount of meat in the bowl. The Banh Canh was on the sweet side as well and the lemongrass snails were very bland. The broth didn't make it into the snails at all. Disappointed but at least we tried!

Yelp
We visited for the 2nd time today and were so pleased with our experience. The food is exceptional. I was especially impressed with the service as all of the staffs were so friendly. We requested to sit outside because we have pet and they were happily serving us and being sure we got everything we need. We live far from Houston so whenever we eat out here, we are pretty picky. This place is now in my go-to list. 10/10!

Farrah N.

Yelp
The food tasted really good. I ordered Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm and Bột Chiên. The Bột Chiên has a diferrent taste than the original one but it is the best one I have had in the U.S.

Yelp
One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Houston for Banh Khot! Banh Khot is a savory little pancake with shrimp in the middle. It's described as a pancake but its more like a mini muffin with incredibly crisp edges thanks to the special cast iron pan its cooked in. If you like Banh Xeo, this is like it's fun younger sister! You eat it wrapped in all the fresh greens and dipped into fish sauce. So so good. The crisp edges, the bite of shrimp contrasted with the leafy greens dipped in the fish sauce is like heaven on earth. The portion is HUGE and is definitely meant to share. My plate came with 10 pieces and was so delicious. My jaw DROPPED when they placed it on our table. I also ordered the pickled kumquat drink (a must) and the coconut snails. Yes, coconut snails or Öc Len Xão Dua! These little suckers are deliciously cooked in a lemongrass coconut sauce. Pro tip on how to eat these - open up the bottom and suck it out! You get the perfect combo of sauce and snails! Some are a little harder to get out so use the provided mini forks. Love this place and always a recommended restaurant as a Vietnamese gal.

Yelp
The food was so good with good portions. Service was also really fast. Just don't go too late then there's a long wait. Love the noodle dishes, the balut in tamarind sauce, the banh bot Chien is so good. Banh khôt is amazing too. Definitely will go back soon

Yelp
Foods tasted sweet and so much MSG and they charged togo fee, over priced, won't be back

Yelp
Delicious food options. Service is good and the ambiance is ok. Small cafe which can make it busy sometimes but the food is worth it. Everything is good.

Yelp
Amazing Bun Rieu and Banh Khot. Satisfied my cravings and will definitely be back! Service was fast and everything was fresh and hot.

Yelp
Service was super quick and you know the food is made fresh because it does take some time to cook once it's ordered depending on what you order. I was in Houston for two weeks and went here twice! They're always packed whether you go on a Saturday or a Wednesday. We tried their com suong , canh bun, banh canh cua, pha lau and banh khot both styles! It was honestly all delicious! The pha lau and cảnh bun are a must try!!

Yelp

Yelp
This place is a great hole in the wall spot for a variety of Vietnamese dishes. The service was fast and my friend and I were seated quickly despite how packed it was on a Monday night. We first ordered the HỘT VỊT LỘN XÀO ME (Tamarind sauce balut) for an appetizer and it was a good choice. The dish comes with three eggs and was topped with the tamarind sauce, fried pork fat/onion bits, roasted peanuts, and laksa leaves. For the main dish, we got the Bánh Canh Cua (tapioca noodle soup with crab). This was the first time I tried Bánh Canh Cua and I was a little taken back by how strong the fishy taste was but for my Vietnamese friend, she said it was perfect so I trust her critique more than mine. To lighten the soup, I added some lime juice and it was good. Something I really appreciated about this dish is the large amount of crab meat they put in. There were also loads of other toppings like shrimp, pork blood, pork feet, quail egg, and cha lua (pork roll).

Yelp

Yelp
No customer service! Waited to get seated, once seated they put down two menus and told me to write in the order book what we wanted to order. Even in third world countries (such as Vietnam) do not do this type of non service. Table is still sticky, piece of bean sprout was still on table. We understand hole-in-the-wall but this is on another level. Here is the menu, here is order book, write what you want and give it back to me when you made up your mind. Utensils are one the table, already, do you want me to go back and cook my own food then, prepare and bring out the food myself? This is blame on the restaurant owners, not directly on the servers, they either allow this or agreed to this non-service and are too cheap to hire correctly.

Yelp
this is one of my favorite vietnamese restaurants in houston! i would definetly check out the bún đậu mắm tôm, the hột vịt lộn xào me and bánh khọt. if you're looking for authentic vietnamese food this is the closest thing you're going to get. the service here is also fine nothing too special but it's no where near bad, just a casual eatery. the restaurant is also very clean but beware the parking lot is usually pretty full since there's a vietnamese grocery store nearby.

Yelp
Went there with some of my family for the first time... then two days later again with my boyfriend. It's a great place to go if you're looking for variety, you know how most vietnamese's places specialize in one thing and everything else taste eh.. throw that mentality out the window this place does EVERYTHING great. I will say the only thing Ill note is their Vietnamese's Ice Coffee is way too small for the price, besides that everything is great especially the bun rieu, taste better than my grandmas!!

Yelp
Good quality food, and was busy for lunch on Saturday. Everything we tried was good from escargots to Bun Bo Hue, Crab meat noodle soup and the drinks were delicious. Highly recommended.

Yelp

Yelp
Our friends said this place serves authentic Vietnamese food and sold us on the Bot Chien. So we decided to give this place a try. It did not disappoint at all. Every single dish was amazing! Their banh bot chien was crispy and instead of cooking with scrambled eggs, they use fried eggs. It was so good! The crisp texture with the runny eggs was to die for. You must remind them you don't want the overdone fried eggs. We ordered the seafood banh khot which had a variety of shrimp, beef and squid. I'm used to eating it with shrimp only but I like that there is variety for those who are allergic to shellfish. The banh khot is bigger than what I know as normal size but I like it. The shrimp are big and the beef was a nice change. My companions thought the squid would be better if it were sliced thinner but it didn't bother me at all. It was tender and not chewy. Some say it is too doughy but ours was crispy. The snails in coconut milk was so yummy and the blood clams were very good, not too chewy. The hu tieu was very clean and full of flavor. The only thing missing for me is the dried crispy shrimp and the chicharon. We also ordered the bun rieu which is a disappointment in many restaurants but not this place. It was beyond good. I've brought other friends here in the last two weeks and they love the food. It is definitely one of my fave Vietnamese restaurants here in Houston.

Yelp
The best Bun Dau Mam Tom in town. Their portion for one person is large enough for 2. Make sure you don't over-order it as we did. Their Bot Chien is crunchy with full topping ( papaya, carrots, green onions, & crispy fired shallot). Drinks was okay. We will be back to try Bun Bo Hue & Bun Mam.

Yelp
Food and service is top-notch. The employees compose themselves so well during this harsh stormy situation. Truly the best eatery place on Bellaire rn imo.
