The Best Mexico City Coffee Shops For Getting Work Done

"Even if you don’t have a ton of work to do, Buna La Tostadora is worth a visit for the space alone. It’s inside an old textile factory that’s been repurposed into office and studio spaces, and the location of the cafe also doubles as its roasting plant. Buna’s proximity to artist studios draws a creative crowd, and their unusual open terrace, abundance of seating options, and nice, strong coffee create an ideal work environment, especially if you have to work through a 50-item to-do list. One of the best coffee places (if not the best) I’ve been in Mexico City. It’s magical, the staff is amazing and coffees are delicious.

I went on a weekend and it was packed but still managed to find somewhere to sit since they have tons of space. Internet is fast and it’s not too loud so it’s possible to work. I had the turmeric tea and it honestly was kind of gross but I should have asked for honey. I also had one of the Serrano toasts and it was very underwhelming quality for what I was expecting. Staff is great.

Beautiful coffee shop! Really loved the cafechata drink (coffee + horchata), one of the best ones I’ve had in the city so far. But the only negative thing about this place is that the WiFi is soooo bad. It’s the worst place to try to get any work done. But if you’re only coming to read, write, or chat with friends, it’s a great place to do that.

Most of the time, the baristas here give off a “I’ll start your drink when I feel like it” vibe—unfortunately, the coffee they eventually hand over doesn’t quite make up for it. For 80 pesos, the cappuccinos are just… meh, which feels like a waste considering the beans are actually great. The space itself is nice, but constantly packed with gringos on Zoom calls, which kills the vibe fast. On the plus side, there’s a decent (but expensive) selection of pastries and ice cream if you need a consolation snack. If you’re lucky you can get a concha from the Amaya place instead.

worst experience i had in terms of being ripped off; daytime robbery. the latte was 65 pesos and when asked what milk, i said normal milk. i was charged 15 pesos more because supposedly the default latte *comes with lactose free milk*. so extra 15 for normal milk. also i asked for latte to be extra hot (my caliente). they handed me a lukewarm cup. and the other order, a dirty chai for 110! because they charged a whole cup of oatmilk for 30; specialty milk was listed as 15. but because they put a whole cup, it is 2x15! haven't ever seen such way of measuring extra milk. btw chai is not on the menu. and you get no itemized bill. tastewise: the dirty chai latte barely had any chai in it and tasted super-watery (where was a up of milk??). and the latte was mediocre at best.

Best coffee place in the city. Have to ring in the big gate "Laguna" to get in. Great baristas; shout out Giovani, Gerardo, Luis, and Israel. Great place for coffee lovers

My favorite coffee shop to work at in the area. The usual good stuff is all good: great coffee, nice atmosphere, and perfect service, but the reason I love this place is because it's away from the hustle and bustle of streetside coffee shops in Roma, which surely have a time and place. Buna always plays mellow music, there's a machine of some sort in the back that makes for constant white noise (which is a plus for me, perhaps not for anti-noise pollutants. I find it calming, and the quiet conversations plus the music of coffee-brewing make for real-life ASMR. Plus, they have aaactual comfy chairs. I'm always on the look-out for coffee shops with chairs you can actually endure for a couple of hours. All in all, 10/10.
