The 8 Best Coffee Shops In DC

"If you’re one of those people who simply cannot make a decision, Buna Talk Cafe at Sycamore & Oak is here to solve your problems. Hot or iced? No, really. Those are your only options at this Congress Heights spot. Though it’s simple, the Ethiopian coffee here is some of the best in the city, without any of the wait. You’ll pour your own cup from a giant tableside urn where the only real choice you’ll have to make is whether or not to add sugar and cream." - tristiana hinton

They were looking for an employee and within 3 days they told me that I was not what they were looking for. I graduated from DC Central kitchen. Serv safe, certified and also allergy trained certified. husband seems so pleasant. So Pleasing to the public and customers. The wife seems pleasant. As well. They only had 2 employees which were young and unprofessional. I noticed cross contamination I was not properly trained. And was clueless to do. So I was let go.good luck with that they need some inspectors to go in there. The kitchen area and the refrigeration nothing was time, temperature Documented and in the refrigerator, salmon. was on top of the french toast egg batter. They never had cutting gloves and safety was not first poor work ethic

The ingredients were fresh and simple. If you are jogging or just strolling the neighborhood it is the perfect place to stop and grab a bite and some coffee. The family that runs the place is the sweetest married couple!

Love this place. They are the most consistent so far at Sycamore and Oak. Cafe style right here in SE, and ice cream for the whole family.

They have "coffee" on the menu with lots of food items, I don't think it's fair to call this a coffee shop

Yelp
If you're in the area and need a good bite to eat, definitely check out Buna Talk Cafe at Sycamore and Oak. This cool little spot is a fantastic option, especially since there aren't many dining choices near the Carefirst Arena. They offer an all-day breakfast, salads, sandwiches, lunch specials, delicious pastries, and a variety of healthy juices and espresso, ensuring you'll find something to satisfy your cravings. My French toast, scrambled egg, and coffee were on point, and don't forget to treat yourself to their ice cream. They're open Monday from 8am to 1 pm, Tuesday to Saturday from 8am to 4pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. A special shoutout to Renee for her great menu options and excellent customer service. With a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff, you'll feel right at home ordering your food to go. It's a must-visit if you're looking for a chill place to grab some good food!
