"This latest Thai spot from restaurateur Todd Sirimongkolvit — who also runs Oakland’s Bird and Buffalo and Basil Canteen in San Francisco — focuses on coastal Thai cuisine. Located in Danville, the new restaurant offers “dishes that are not common in other Thai restaurants,” as Sirimongkolvit told the Mercury News, such as a pan-roasted salmon fillet with curry reduction, or miang pla pao, which comes with a fried seabass fillet, vermicelli, fresh herbs, and lettuce leaves to wrap everything." - Dianne de Guzman

This beautiful Thai restaurant is located in Danville. Yesterday we had project dinner in this restaurant. Liked the fish dish more than chicken dish . Thai Basil chicken was little sweeter in taste similar to teriyaki chicken. Shrimp tempura & whole Brazino fish fry was awesome in taste similar!

Seems like a house turned into a restaurant! The place and ambience were very cozy. The food was really good. We ordered the tapas and the street style Thai fried rice. Mango sticky rice was also spectacular.

Bungalow Rose Coastal Thai is a hidden gem that brings vibrant Thai flavors and coastal charm together in the most delightful way. From the moment you step in, you’re welcomed by a beautifully styled space—breezy, colorful, and full of tropical warmth that sets the perfect tone for the meal ahead. The food is nothing short of phenomenal. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared, bursting with authentic Thai flavors and fresh ingredients. The balance of spice, sweetness, and citrus in their curries and stir-fries is spot on, and the seafood options are especially standout—fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The coconut shrimp and green curry are absolute must-tries. Service is friendly, attentive, and genuine. The staff make you feel right at home and are happy to explain dishes or make thoughtful recommendations based on your preferences. Whether you’re craving comforting Thai classics or looking to explore something new with a coastal twist, Bungalow Rose delivers an experience that’s both elevated and approachable. It’s the kind of place you’ll find yourself coming back to again and again.

We had dinner here a number of times. It’s the highest quality Thai food around. Everything is very tasty, prepared with care and tastes great. We had pad Thai, crispy duck curry, shrimp pad Thai, steak pad see ewe. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service is excellent. Timing perfect. We also had the appetizer of crispy wanton shrimp. Don’t even think of leaving without a Thai ice tea and the mango sticky rice!

This place is a hidden gem! It has a small semi-shaded patio with water fountain and gorgeous greenery....bougainvillea and all sorts of large cactus plants. The indoors is very cozy yet elegant. They serve a wide variety of colourful, delicious meals. We enjoy being off the main thoroughfare and tucked away here. The service has always been very friendly and welcoming .

Disappointing Thai Experience in the Bay Area I recently dined at this Thai restaurant in the Bay Area, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. Here's a breakdown of our meal: Salmon Fillet in Yellow Curry - The salmon was poorly prepared, lacking the crisp texture one would expect from a well-cooked fillet. - The yellow curry sauce was overly sweet, missing the complex flavors typical of Thai cuisine. - There was an absence of balance in the dish, with no discernible Thai spices or aromatics. Mango Salad - The salad was excessively sweet, overpowering any other flavors. - We had to request salt and lemon to attempt to balance the taste. - The dish lacked the fresh, vibrant quality expected from a Thai mango salad. Stir-Fried Vegetables with Spicy Basil - The vegetables appeared to have been pre-cooked and reheated, resulting in a droopy, unappetizing texture. - There was no crispness to the vegetables, suggesting they had been prepared well in advance. - The dish lacked any discernible spice or basil flavor, a far cry from the bold tastes Thai cuisine is known for. Overall Impression This restaurant seems to be the antithesis of what Thai food represents. Thai cuisine is renowned for its complex, layered flavors and aromatic spices. However, every dish we tried was bland, lacking in authentic Thai taste, and seemed to rely heavily on sweetness rather than a balanced flavor profile. The only redeeming aspect of our visit was the service. Our server was exceptionally kind, sweet, and accommodating. Unfortunately, her excellent service couldn't make up for the kitchen's shortcomings. In conclusion, I would describe this place as a "graveyard of Thai food in the Bay Area." It's a severe disappointment for anyone seeking authentic, flavorful Thai cuisine. I cannot recommend this restaurant and would advise Thai food enthusiasts to look elsewhere for a genuine culinary experience.

Google
Hidden Gym in Danville for sure! The interior of the place was nothing special. The exterior seating had some nice seating arrangements but there were a strangely large amount of bugs flying around near the door. None the less, the food and drinks were really good. My personal favorites were the fries and salmon. Also the highlight of this lunch was the desert, which was this sticky blue rice topped with mango. If I were to rate it I’d give 8.8/10.

Yelp
Gayle and I completely enjoyed a recent dinner here with our friends Don and Fern. We had just enjoyed "Galileo the Musical" at Berkeley Rep and made the trip to Danville to debrief our experience, plan a future trip to Ashland, and generally catch up. The Bungalow on Rose is located on a quiet side street. The building itself is as cute as a button, with a comfortable and relaxing inside. All aspects of our service were excellent, which accented a very delicious meal for all of us. Here's what we all raved about: Cocktails/Wine - Ginger Drop - Kirimaya - Bee-Kini's - Domaine Dupeuble Rose - Sommarius Prosecco Appetizers for the Table - Fried Calamari - Fried Brussels Sprouts - Fresh Spring Rolls - Chicken Rolls Split Entrees (Including Jasmine Rice as applicable) - Mixed Seafood Green Curry - Basil Prawns and Eggplant The above was just the right amount of food. Of course, we left other menu offerings off the table, but I hope there's a next time to work on that.

Yelp
I was looking at Thai restaurants in Danville and we have 4 above 4 Stars so I figured I checked them out. This one was rated the highest (but didn't have that many reviews) so I started here. I'm am comparing them all to 11th Tiger, my go to Thai restaurant, just to see if others are better I ordered the following as take out: Pad Thai- Prawn (3 Stars) it was ok nothing special, good size pawns with the tails on, I would have preferred without the tails. They do not offer any other proteins with the Pad Thai, why? Theirs comes with fresh bean sprout and lime wedge but no chopped peanuts. The sauce was ok, the lime squeeze helped a lot to give it more sour. Very little egg and green onion. Isaan Sausage (2 Stars $13) Not spicy or lemon grass flavored like 11th. No sliced ginger, but roasted peanuts. The sausages is scored and then deep fried like a ripper dog. It was not for me. The order comes with 2 sausages that 6.50 each, just saying Spicy Basil Chicken (3 Stars $20) we ordered medium spicy, but it was spicy with fresh jalapenos in the dish. I guess spicy would be unbearable. I wouldn't want to go higher than medium. The chicken was ground, seemed fresh and the rest was fine. Light on the sauce. It was ok. Jasmine rice (4 Stars $4) perfectly executed, no issues. Rack of Lamb (3.5 Stars $35) They give 3 ribs, kinda pricey, what that's about 11 per rib. The flavor was good and cooked medium, a little over cooked for me. The sauce they service was ok. It seemed to be caramelized shallots, green onion and chilies, maybe some rice flour. It was to sweet and not enough heat. The real star of the dish was shredded green mango salad and the dressing, very good. The dressing was really good on the lamb, better than the sauce they served. It also came with the cellophane wrapped rice ball, not for me, I rather just have normal steamed rice. 11th Tiger beats bungalow, but to be fair 11th Pad Thai is no that great (no chopped peanuts or lime wedge, more egg and more sweet sour sauce) One of the reason I'm looking around is to find out who has the best Pad Thai in Danville. Still searching. Btw...the Crying Tiger and sausage beat hands down the lamb (I know it a different protein comparison, but the steak dish at Bungalow didn't look that good on the menu) and sausage. On to my next Danville Thai..

Yelp
4.5 stars rounded up to 5 stars. Tasty food, great ambience and service. The lunch set was a really good value. The lunch tasting menu consists of an appetizer, entree and dessert. For the appetizer, I chose the crab wontons. Tasty with a good amount of crab. For the entree, I chose the prawns with eggplants. The prawns were huge and it was a yummy dish. For dessert, had the mango sticky rice. The mango was very sweet , the sticky rice had the perfect texture with creamy fragrant coconut sauce. Also had the 5-spice roast duck leg, baby bok choy, lychee, basil, red curry. The roast duck leg was roasted to perfection with crispy skin. The red curry was flavorful and the lychee added some sweetness and fruitiness. Also had the steamed fish in banana leaf. Although it looked pretty bland, when I tasted it, it was herbaceous, with the right amount of saltiness and spice. Pretty special tasting dish. Lunch was tasty and satisfying. Price was reasonable. One of the best Thai restaurants I've tried in Danville.

Yelp
I thought that this place was solid but I didn't see anything wrong with the old spot so I kept comparing in my mind. Tuna tartare - nice with the little chips. Little bit of heat Chicken satay - very juicy with nice sauce. Only two sticks (they were big sticks though) Ribeye - I used to have ribeyes and steaks in Vallejo at a Thai place and they had incredible seasoning. The ribeye was cooked to my liking but lacked seasoning in my opinion. The sauce was a sweet sauce. It also came with a lightly spicy papaya salad and sticky rice. I didn't like the rice. Banana wrapped steam fish - my wife likes steamed fish and we had a really good steamed fish at the old Thai place here. This wrapped steam fished started strong, strong taste from the wrapped leaves and very seasoned. As we dig deeper it was too seasoned.

Yelp
Cozy space in aconverted bungalow. Some outdoor seating as well. Parking nearby. They have some dedicated vegetarian dishes, along with dishes that can be made vegetarian on request. We had a green curry veg dish and the blistered green beans. So yum! The noodle-wrapped shrimp are good though I'm not such a fan of the fried noodles. On request you can get the bird chili in fish sauce condiment. The service is good and attentive without being obtrusive. The ginger sour was good. Friend had 2. I had 1 and then had the Fossil Pinot. Tasty! The whole Branzino is a good spin but for sustainable reasons I would suggest they select a different fish. Friend lives in Danville so we'll be back!

Yelp
Dined here for lunch. I was surprised they have a small lunch menu. It is located on the bottom right hand side. For $17.95, you get a salad, rice, fried egg and entree. I ordered the salmon (additional $6) and it was very good. My daughter ordered the spicy basil chicken. Her entree was a bit too salty for our taste buds. She ordered it medium spicy, but it wasn't. She asked for a side of spices. The ambience is very cozy. They did a nice job in creating a bar area and did some renovation from the previous owners of Thai House (who retired). I'm glad they kept most of the original decor.

Jay G.

Yelp
Probably THE best Thai food ever. This used to be a different name and the owner retired. Now a refresh has happened as they are branded as a "coastal" Thai cuisine restaurant and honestly, the flavors and spices are next level. As you pull up you can feel the great ambiance with the outdoor seating and heaters but it was really cold and breezy so we ate inside. The decor inside is nice and feels very relaxing. The staff are so incredibly nice. We had a nice conversation on coastal Thai cuisine, the various spices and differences from typical Thai cuisine. I came here fora business lunch and we started with the appetizer platter which was massive! Huge fresh rolls, fired shrimp rolls you wrap in lettuce with sauce (incredible), corn fritter and fried tofu. This easily is a meal for two in and if itself, As a huge seafood and green curry person (spicy) I ordered the seafood with green curry. The curry was amazing, having that Thai spice, sweetness and depth of flavor unlike other green curries, with fresh basil leaves, and orange peppers. The seafood portion was fantastic. They did not skimp with huge scallops, large prawns, calamari, and fish. All was perfectly cooked and very fresh. The shrimp had that perfect crunch and the other seafood was extremely tender. The rice was also fantastic. I was so full I had to take half if what you see home and I ate 3 or 4 pieces before taking the photo (almost forgot to take a photo due to the flavor distraction) I did order take home Pad Se Ew as they do have "standard Thai" as well. It was the BEST I have ever had and my wife was raving about it all night long and agreed. I will make the 30 min drive every time to eat here. 5 stars

Steve L.

Yelp
This location used to be Thai House. Which was one of my favorites. This place was awesome as well! We had to get used to the new menu, but they've got some really tasty dishes. The vegetable rolls are a great starter. The mushroom prawn soup was very tasty. The noodle dishes such as Pad Thai and Pad See Ew are yummy as well. The curry of course was delicious. The new outdoor parklet seating is cute and allows for more people to eat. The staff was short handed so we did have to wait a bit to be waited on, but overall the experience was good. We will be back!

Jenny Y.

Yelp
I'm from LA so the food wasn't the greatest for LA standard (sorry if I sounded like a snob; but I'm just being truthful about how LA has the best ethnic foods) however the ambiance , service and their cocktail was awesome! I'd definitely come back here if I visit Danville again. I had a little fruit fly in my drink and they got me a replacement right away. Staff were super nice. That's something I'm appreciative being from LA. Ethnic Restaurants in LA staff aren't the best! :(

Rosie M.

Yelp
How sad! This restaurant gets 2 stars because the service was nice. 0 stars for the food. We liked how they kept some of the decorations from the last restaurant and it was a lot less dusty from the last Thai restaurant here, but there is still old dust that you can see in the little crevices of the wooden panels. We ordered the lobster, waygu, the Chai Yo and a cab franc. The lobster was overcooked on the outer section of the lobster tail, but the center was translucent and cold which meant that the lobster tail was frozen and not properly defrosted before they cooked it. We let the chef know and he explained that they were worried about overcooking the lobster. For us, undercooked lobster is worse than overcooked. The waygu was no better. It was tough to eat. We spoke to the chef to let him know that we won't be finishing the waygu after the small bites that we had because it was too tough. He told us that they braised the waygu for several hours so it shouldn't be tough. But it was, and we practically had a whole portion to show him how it was tough and he was able to see how hard it was to separate the fibers of the beef. We didn't order dessert because we didn't want to be disappointed by another dish. We left hungry, and had to eat down the street. We love supporting Asian restaurants, but we will not visit bungalow again.

Yelp
Where do I start? Well I guess at the beginning.. After finding out my Wednesday night meeting got cancelled I did a quick search for a new dinner place to go with some friends... Yelp steered me to Bungalow on Rose.. You walk up to a cute small bungalow style house after finding easy parking across the way at the large lot. The inside decor is well done and very much influenced by the culture. Lots of carved wood throughout the place. We were greeted at the door and the server started to show us to a table then realized the sun would be in our eyes in a few minutes, apologize and directed us to another table and gave us menus. Water soon followed with a quick explanation that food was on one side and drinks on the other. They also told us that were still in time for Happy Hour, but only by a few minutes and should get our order in if we wanted a cocktail. So we ordered cocktails, corn fritters and fried calamari and then went back to looking over the menu for dinner. This appears to be a family run operation as the woman who was manning the bar and brought us our drinks told us her husband was in the kitchen. The appetizers were good and flavorful. If I had one complaint, I dont think the oil was as hot as it could have been for the calamari as it was a bit on the heavy side with residual oil. I should have thought of that when I ordered my dinner which was tempura green beans with scallops as I think the beans could have used the higher heat as well. Everyone raved about their dinner items. Two in our party ordered the lobster tail and it was beautifully presented and very delicious. After dinner the two chefs came out from the kitchen to chat with everyone in the dining area. They were very sweet and so happy to hear how much we enjoyed the food they prepared for us. They have only been open about a month and a half, but I think they are doing a really good job!! We look forward to returning and trying other items on the menu..

Yelp
Couple of friends took us to this great place recently. Was not expecting how great the food was! We tried almost everything. The seasoning was spot on, and the food was prepared to perfection. I recommend to make reservations because this is a small establishment. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Located in a beautifully-decorated building in Danville, Bungalow on Rose serves a creative take on "coastal Thai" cuisine in an elegant atmosphere with super friendly service. Our waiter was extremely helpful with recommendations from the diverse menu, and we started with the Fried Local Rockfish, which came with breaded pieces of rockfish served with romaine lettuce, vermicelli noodles, herbs, and a green seafood sauce, all of were combined to make lettuce wraps. Though all the components were beautifully presented on a platter, the rockfish (and the wraps) were rather bland and could have used a flavor upgrade. The mains, however, didn't disappoint one bit! The green curry with prawns, rockfish, scallops, and squid had a wonderfully spicy flavor and creamy texture, which enveloped the seafood. The surprise ingredient in this curry was slices of eggplant, which had a meaty flavor and texture (almost like mushrooms)! The Deep-Fried Whole Branzino was a show-stopper dish consisting of a scored, crispy whole fish covered in a sweet and sticky sauce and served with crispy Brussels sprouts. The luxurious Lobster Tail had its meat removed from the shell and was covered in a thick yellow curry sauce cooked with crab meat, onions, scallions, and peppers. Finally, we had the Kao Pad Pu, or Crab Fried Rice, made of a circular mound of egg fried rice topped with crab meat, and this dish went especially nicely with the curries. Overall, this was a fantastic restaurant combining delicious Thai flavors with local seafood, and the presentation, service, and atmosphere were all on point.

Lily F.

Yelp
There are a lot of Thai places in Danville, and this one is hands down the best. Very authentic tasting dishes, and a menu that has all of the traditional dishes plus a few extra new ones. I highly recommend coming here for lunch, as they have great lunch specials and they come with a salad and rice. They take reservations so to be safe make sure you make one, especially at dinner.

Radha A.

Yelp
Came on a Friday. It was kind of quiet. We ordered an appetizer, was a vegetable roll with peanut dipping sauce. Was really lettuce wrapped in rice paper. Do not recommend. The stir fry beef was average. Portion was quite a healthy serving but the flavor was lacking. Probably won't return.

Debbie F.

Yelp
Lunch here today with a bunch of my friends. The Pad Thai was loved by everyone! The lunch green curry included this salad which was drenched in tasteless dressing. The eggplant in the green curry was undercooked making it bitter and chewy. Beautiful presentation on the dishes. Cute place with lots of outdoor seating

Stephanie K.

Yelp
Such a cute little Thai restaurant. The service was excellent. I ordered the monsoon cocktail, which was delicious. I was torn between the spicy basil chicken, and the seafood green curry. I ended up going with the green curry, which the waiter suggested. It normally comes with shrimp, rockfish, scallops, and squid. They were very accommodating and let me modify since I don't eat squid. He definitely didn't lead me astray, the presentation was beautiful, and the flavor was amazing. I'll definitely come back to try some of the other dishes. Overall a great experience.

Linda M.

Yelp
We had a delightful lunch today at Bungalow on Rose. The patio is filled with bright flowers and soothing fountains. The pumpkin curry with jumbo shrimp came with six jumbo shrimp and was very flavorful. The vegetarian spring rolls were almost too pretty to eat, but I'm glad we did as the filling was fresh and tasty. Our waitress, Angie, was gracious. Looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes.

Jacob F.

Yelp
First off, this is such a cute place. The decor is so comfortable, cozy and charming. The sounds of upbeat jazz were playing at a soft tone, not so loud that you cant hear acroas ypur table. We were greeted at the door with enthusiastic smiles and bubbly spirited hostess and wait staff. We ordered two appetizers, chicken cigars and curry fries. Both were delicious. The chicken cigars were very flavorful by themselves, but when wrapped in the lettuce leaf with mint and cilantro, they were amazing. The curry fries were interesting. The fries weren't greasy at all and were topped with a chopped wagyu beef curry that was full of flavor. Our entrees were the fried fish, curry lobster, and a basil chicken. We polished off the fish quickly, it was hot and flacky, and the basil chicken was light and refreshing. The curry lobster presentation was amazing, and flavorful. Dessert was the mango sticky rice and chocolate pot de creme. Just when we thought we couldn't eat any more, we finished them off. The chefs came came out and greeted us, thinking we were a table of four. They couldn't believe we ate all the food. Overall you will leave full and with a smile and wanting to come back.

Bimba A.

Yelp
Definitely recommend it! 10/10 food, service and ambiance! I had the salmon curry and bourbon cocktail (can't remember name) both things were delicious !! I can't wait to come back again!

baobao j.

Yelp
Love it. I order the fry fish , vegetables roll and chicken basil was amazing. Mango sticker rice is a must too.

P F.

Yelp
Hands down this was some of the best Thai we've had outside of, well, Thailand! Its a really cool space. Great cocktails. The fried crab special was amazeballs!! We're really excited to make this a regular spot!

Denise R.

Yelp
We made reservations for Date Night and it was so wonderful. The service was warm and friendly the menu had so many choices. We started with Curry Fries with Wagu Beef so flavorful and yummy along with the Corn Cakes. Our server Kay was helpful with his recommendations. Our food arrived nice and hot and the portions were generous. We had our own dinning room and it was beautiful and romantic.

Amina A.

Yelp
The food was sooo delicious here! Everything we ordered was so tasty and perfect amount. The service was good too they were very helpful with helping us order and answered all questions. I love trying different Thai restaurants each time but i will definitely be coming here often.

D B.

Yelp
Wow - they had only been open for 4 days when we visited (July 8). The service was not to be faulted. Everyone was very attentive and when asked questions gave the appropriate answer. What I loved about the food - the menu is very unique - not your typical Thai dishes although there are a few at the bottom of the menu! Very flavorful. Upon speaking with the manager about the uniqueness of the menu I was told that many of the recipes/sauces are from her grandmother/mother. How awesome is that! Below is a photo of my dish - it was the whole fried fish with Brussel sprouts. Delicious! The restaurant is a converted house but keeping the charm of the different rooms. They also have a really nice, cozy outdoor dining area. It was a little too windy for us to sit outside but another time we shall. Definitely recommend this new restaurant and can't wait to go back soon.

Anthony A.

Yelp
My wife and I believe this is probably the best food we've ever had outside of Thailand, excellent quality and will be here for years to come.

Will F.

Yelp
So we were really excited to come eat here! So tired of traditional American Thai restaurants which have the same old dishes with any meat you want and the flavor is invariably lacking. The menu here promises more of a let's do what we do best approach, modernize the dishes a bit, and make it more 3 course than "family style". Family style is fine, but when that's your only option it can get boring and lackluster. So again, we were excited by the menu, the beautiful interior, the wine list and cocktail list which looked like it was thought out and paired to the cuisine! We started with cocktails - a version of a lemon drop and a version of a mojito that were Thai inspired. They scored home runs on both! Our next course was a Chicken Satay (I know, same ol same ol) but we love satay and peanut sauce so we started there. Didn't disappoint. Chicken was very moist -- not super grilled -- but it worked and sauce worked well too. If you like it grilled well you may be disappointed. Next we ordered the duck curry (again, in an "updated" fashion from the description, with lichee instead of pineapple, five spice on the duck, no tomato but baby bok choy along with the requisite red curry. Also ordered the scallops with tempura battered green beans. The latter dish was good, not great. Scallops a bit steamed not grilled, and a bit overcooked. Tempura green beans and the sauce were very nice. 5 smallish sea scallops total. Not a bargain at close to $30 but these days...don't know that I'd want to order it again. The problem dish was the duck. It looked great as served. A "large" looking piece of duck surrounded by sauce, baby bok choy cooked well, and 3 lychee. The problem was the duck was an overcooked piece of thigh, a backbone, and a back. No meat on the spine, no accessible meat on the back, and had to literally pick up the thigh to tear some meat off with my teeth. I think I got 3 bites of duck meat off the entire portion. Thinking the kitchen had made a mistake and perhaps make me a new one, I informed our server of the issue. The manager came out shortly and explained that they "measured out each portion", and that while I may have experienced sliced duck at other Thai restaurants, this was not how they serve it. She said she would remove it from the bill, then instructed me not to order it again because this was what they intended. No worries Ms Manager, I will not be ordering it again because we will never be coming back. I didn't say this to her, I was polite. Let our sever know it was not a pleasant encounter but not blaming her. We tipped her well and left. We had such high hopes for this place and their modern approach to Thai cuisine. Unfortunately, they were not only unreceptive to customer feedback but downright hostile. They've only been open for 4 weeks and I don't see them making it f they don't genuinely care about their customers their experience.

Carol L.

Yelp
The food is good but definitely not the best I've had. It's also really pricy. If you want fantastic Thai food, go to Anchalee in Berkeley. Their food is outstanding!

Letty L.

Yelp
I don't live in Danville, but will be driving out here when I crave excellent Thai food. I usually order Thai food to go from Hayward or Oakland. This location has great ambiance, I recommend eating in or outside, both are lovely. If you eat outside it is relaxing and refreshing. Forget about the occasional car driving by and enjoy your company. The drinks, food and service were excellent. For drink I had the cute, delicious tiki blessings and my friend had the Lychee tini. For appetizers we had the delicious, crispy and flavorful fried "angel" wings healthy delicious spring rolls with peanut sauce. For main courses we had the amazing, perfectly cooked local whole deep fried fish with delicious green sauce on the side. The brussel sprouts on the side were very crispy and delicious too. We also had a delicious noodle dish and the larb chicken salad. For our liking the majority of us would have like more lime marinating the chicken. For dessert we shared coconut mango sticky rice. Sooooooo good. Mango was in season. Try this place!

Renee K.

Yelp
The outdoor dining patio at Bungalow on Rose is enchanting with 2 fountains and a beautiful flower garden. Inside the restaurant is inviting with unique decor. The menu is different than any other Thai restaurant I've been to before, including the delicious unique cocktails. It was mentioned to us that some recipes come passed down thru generations. The oysters were shucked perfectly, and the sauce was delicious. The papaya salad was so refreshing! We had amazing calamari and vegetable rolls as well. We were not too hungry but will definitely be back for the lobster dish and whole branzino that we saw brought to the other customers tables. The service was fantastic and I can't say enough about the place! We'll be back soon, for sure!

David S.

Yelp
Good food, dated incoherent furnishings . Come for the food not for the ambiance can't wait for warmer weather so we can sit outside and enjoy the food.

Christine C.

Yelp
Good but not great - I had tummy issues after that i'm pretty sure was from meal. Service & location cute .

Tommyboy B.

Yelp
The Thai Restaurant, Bungalow on Rose, is a fairly recent replacement for the previous Thai restaurant at that same location and a welcome improvement as well. The interior space is nicely decorated and the outside dining space also presents a pleasant environment for lunch on a nice day. I have eaten there twice, and tried a good deal of their menu, and on both occasions all dishes were properly prepared and fairly priced, with excellent service as well. Their extensive full menu is posted on line and it is much more interesting than those most all Thai restaurants that we encounter. If you do not mind paying a bit more for a much better selection of upscale Thai cuisine then the BOR should definitely be on your must-try dining list.

Yelp
New management at the old Thai House. More variety in the menu and really flavorful and well prepared dishes. Friendly staff. Decor is nice and similar to previous setting. Will definitely return.

Yelp
This is the best Thai food in Danville. So fresh and lots of good seafood. The service is excellent and the food tastes very authentic yet creative.

Yelp
A wonderful intimate space with a delicious menu, and very friendly accommodating staff. The corn fritters and curries were amazing, and the cocktails were fun and refreshing.

Yelp
Wonderful restaurant with great food. Had a business lunch here, and then had to bring my family for an evening meal - on the same day :)

Yelp
BEST Thai food in Danville. The green beans are fabulous, and we LOVE the pad thai, sautéed veggies and papaya salad. Everything is seasoned JUST right and cooked to perfection.

Yelp
What a gem! We decided to try it out for a Birthday dinner on reading all the lovely reviews and boy we are glad we did! Yummy food, unique flavors and cozy ambience like a bungalow! Great vegan options! We were a large party and we were seated right away in a private area right at the time of our reservation. The service was attentive and very kind. We had the corn fritters, fresh rolls and blistered garlic beans for appetizers. All items were great - the kids enjoyed the corn fritters and the adults loved the fresh rolls! For the main course we had the yellow curry, eggplant and tofu and the vermicelli - all were very tasty and had unique flavors! We finished up with the mango sticky rice and banana spring rolls with ice cream for dessert. The staff decorated the desserts beautifully for the birthday and started off a small, cute celebration- all in all it's was a very fun experience!! Highly recommended!!

Yelp
I'm not a reviewer of things, just let places I visit be. However this place we ate last Friday was great! Food was fantastic and ambiance was very good. Very tasty soup and dishes. Staff was great. Well done and we'll be back. Cheers!

Yelp
We loved the food!!!! We got the spring rolls for the appetizer, pad see ew, the lemongrass soup, and mango sticky rice for the dessert. All were amazing, definitely top tier Thai food. The ambience was very inviting and cozy, not a lot of people inside but hopefully that will change soon! Angie was the sole worker on the floor and her service was amazing. Come in with a date or your family for a cozy and delicious meal. We will be back!

Yelp
I love Thai food and this new restaurant is the best I have had in Contra Costa County by a good margin. Our waiter told us that their chicken satay was good. We were reluctant to order it because we have had chicken satay many times and wanted to try different things. I'm really glad we listened to him, as this chicken satay was really superior to any other we have had before. We loved the braised Wagyu beef. There wasn't a dish that we had that didn't exceed our expectations. The management and waitstaff could not have been more professional. Elliott D

Yelp
I just wanted Thai food as I was driving home from an appointment through Danville, and this came up in my search. What a delightful little find! It's off the main drag on a side street, and is in a little re-done house! Soooo cute and also has adorable outside seating. The service was EXCELLENT. Everyone was cheerful and attentive. I got the drunken noodle, which was good and spicy and had lots of fresh veggies. My favorite thing was that they had a cocktail menu! I had one, I forget the funny pun name, but it had thai iced tea and spiced rum - SO delish! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
We visited this restaurant last Saturday. This used to be Thai House and the owners retired. New ownership has created a great Thai place. Menu is what we would call "Modern Thai" with creative dishes. Very tasty and service was really good. Everything was good. We will return

Yelp
Very flavorful dishes. Their curry fries, crab fried rice and prawns mushroom soup was delicious!!!

Yelp
Fantastic. Tried it on a lark. Good food, good staff, chef actually visits your table, tasty and fair. Fast and accurate service. Parking galore and free. Nice ambience. Honors your request for mild vs medium spicy. Comfy seating. Real Thai food. We will return soon.
