"I’d recommend Bhuna’s bottled tamarind sauce and mint-cilantro chutney as worthy additions to the home condiment shelf; both are available for online order." - Seiji Nanbu

A surprising delight! Every dish, every sauce meticulously prepared. Service could not have been warmer or more earnest. Turns out it’s a family business! We chose it based on reviews and closeness to People’s Light. It didn’t disappoint. The modest outside hides a truly lovely and special place inside. We loved it!

We went for dinner last night and had a wonderful time. The dining room was nice and elegant with little touches of real flowers and a rose folded napkin! Our server was nice and gave us great suggestions. I ordered the cream of mushroom soup and the shrimp and scallops and everything was absolutely fresh and delicious. Really flavorful and special. We will absolutely be coming back!

The host/waiter was SO attentive and kind. Food was delicious and fresh. Very good flavors!! A must try!!

Google
A wonderful locally owned restaurant with amusing food. We loved their cream of mushroom soup and the chef made that for us even though it was not on the daily special menu. The veal chop was served with the bone in and the sauce was amusing. The sauteed shrimp and scallops was cooked to perfection and served with a nice creamy buttery wine sauce. All the other dishes were wonderful and the portion size is perfect. Our server was pleasant and attentive, and all our orders were presented timely. The building and decor is relatively plain and that's probably why it is the best kept secret in the area. Great value for excellent food and service, something you can't find anywhere in the Philly suburbs. 1/13/2021: Back again after Covid-19 reopening and it's as excellent as before; consistent in food quality and service. 👍👍👍 6/10/2022: Back to try different things on the menu , however, we wished they would've added something new or changed up the "Special".

Wonderful BYOB. My wife and I go all the time and are never disappointed. The food is delicious. A bit upscale and nothing fancy to look at but did I mention the food is delicious? Service has always been top notch too. Give it a try. The specials are amazing. Actually, everything we've had has been fantastic.

The food was absolutely delicious. The service was warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Definitely worth the price (we spent about $30–50 per person). Highly recommended!

Google
Absolutely awesome place!! Every dish was very tasty and fairly priced. The lamb is definitely the best lamb I’ve had in the U.S., and the black pasta is so good! The use of alcohol and herbs in food is my favorite.

Google
Absolutely delicious! We had the salmon and escallop of chicken — both were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The creme brulee was amazing.

Yelp
For my bf's birthday, we indulged in a local French restaurant on a Saturday night that had caught my eye. Upon entry, the ambiance is cozy yet formal, enticing yet straightforward. I love how the table was set with a brightly lit candle, rose stem, and rose shaped napkin. We were in for a treat indeed. We ordered the escargot and french onion soup. The former was heavily greased up with a lovely, crispy layer of cheese stuck to the dish. The texture was provocative and intrigued my senses. The latter was... underwhelming. Perhaps it's because I'm not a french onion soup connoisseur, but the soup at my workplace beats what I've had here. The ingredients left me pondering what I had just eaten and the flavor left me, frankly, disappointed. For our entree, I ordered the Escalope of Veal, bf ordered Sautéed Barramundi. The veal was very gamey; the sauce seems to be authentic French, however, it just didn't jive well with my taste buds. The sauce did pair nicely with the side of rice. The sautéed barramundi was more our speed. Nicely crafted and dressed in a familiar yet unique sauce. The sides of potato and green beans were a fitting addition to our meals. Most other tables had a byo wine at their table, and many had seemed to be regular diners. I can see how this is an Asian fusion, but it'a not very obvious. Ultimately, I love the ambiance and environment. It speaks levels to me as it's clear each design was intentional. The food, however, is not one I was particularly recommend. When our food arrive to our table, my bf commented on how the presentation reminds him of airplane food. He's not wrong. Nevertheless, this was a lovely experience in a quaint environment with homey service.

Yelp
Tucked away on bustling Route 30 in a rather dull, nondescript structure that once housed a Dairy Queen, it is quite easy to pass Bunha Faun by without notice. Even if you've dined here a number of times, it still somehow manages to slip under your culinary radar... And that is truly a shame, as this diminutive Main Line mainstay has so much to offer. The unassuming exterior notwithstanding, the restaurant's interior is attractively and tastefully appointed. And the cuisine - French fare with an Asian flair - is consistently lovingly prepared and beautifully but simply presented. One glance at the Snow Pea Salad, for example, and you realize that the food here is really something special. When it comes to ingredients, the dish is the soul of simplicity... snow peas, mushrooms, and a splash of sesame dressing. But the constituents are arranged so artfully - the snow peas fanned about an epicenter of sliced mushrooms - that the presentation succeeds in beguiling the eye as well as the palate. The more seasonal Asparagus Salad - spears caressed by a wafer-thin carrot sheath in pools of sherry vinaigrette - is just as photogenic and equally delicious... As was my starter, Oriental Noodles tossed with sesame dressing topped with slivers of chicken and crushed peanuts surrounded by alternating snippets of carrots and broccoli. Simple but sublime. This is obviously a kitchen at the very top of its game. My dining partner, however, would be quick to tell you that nothing quite measured up to the Escargot. Baked in garlic butter, served on a bed of spinach, and topped with Swiss cheese, it was both incredibly rich and extraordinarily delicious. Not to be missed. Just be sure to postpone your next cholesterol test. When it comes to entrées, the Sautéed Barramundi is an uncommonly special treat. Because of its firm moist texture and sweet, buttery flavor - somewhat akin to halibut and grouper - it has quickly become the darling of seafood lovers and confirmed carnivores alike... Even people who don't like seafood tend to like barramundi. Bunha Faun's kitchen prepares it with a slightly unusual but extremely subtle ginger scallion sauce... The result is simply extraordinary. Although my dining partner enjoys finny fare, she much prefers shellfish, which have been her entrées of choice during several visits. She definitely enjoyed the Sautéed Shrimp and Scallops. These were served up with artichoke hearts and mushrooms in a Champagne cream sauce. And, yes... the dish was exceedingly rich. But even better, in her opinion, was the choice during our most recent visit, the Sweet Red Pepper Shrimp. Companioned by a very nice rice pilaf and sautéed green beans, the perfectly prepared crustaceans were decorously anointed with an exquisite red pepper sauce that was just sweet enough to complement rather than smother the objects of its affection. If I had to choose my favorite entrée, however, my nod would certainly go to the delectable Escalope of Veal. I have sampled numerous variations on the theme over the years, but Bunha Faun's kitchen turns out something that is really quite special. For starters, the veal is pounded nearly wafer-thin and is incredibly tender. Then, of course, there is that utterly addictive white wine sauce aided and abetted by wild mushrooms and prosciutto. And it is undoubtedly the prosciutto - and its irresistibly sweet/salty countenance - that propels this dish into an entirely unique and exciting flavor dimension. If Bunha Faun has a low point culinarily, it continues to be their desserts. With the exception of the Crème Brûlée (which was absent from the menu the evening of our most recent visit), the usual suspects are trucked in from off campus - Tiramisu Cake, Chocolate Velvet Cheesecake, Dark Side of the Moon Cake, etc., etc. And this is, indeed, unfortunate. Given the overall quality of the appetizers & entrées, just a few more homemade desserts would add immensely to the total dining experience. On the other hand, I freely admit that my dining partner's Pecan Pie and my Cappuccino Truffle - dark chocolate encrusted cappuccino ice cream with pieces of candy toffee - were both, if not memorable, certainly quite tasty. To my knowledge, food has never been an issue at Bunha Faun... No, the major gripe has usually been with regard to service - a two-fold issue involving both servers and the kitchen - which, upon occasion, can be somewhat slower than a herd of turtles. So, if you plan to dine at Bunha Faun - and it is most assuredly worth a visit - my advice is to make it your only stop for the evening... Just in case.

Yelp
Bunha Faun has been resold and reopened by an owner-operater who has succeeded in returning to high quality menu of the original founder / owner after an extened orientation period. If you ever enjoyed fine dining there before, they warrant your return. As before, they do not have a Social Media presence, so you have to make a reservation, bring your appetitie and let them remind you of their past glory of a top quality menu.

Yelp
First visit and it definitely will not be the last. Amazing menu with a number of interesting options - had the veal chop and it was amazing! Had a mixed greens salad and the black pasta as pre-entree and both were perfect! The restaurant is perfect for conversation and the noise level was moderate. The service was perfectly on point - stepping in at the right time and letting things ride when appropriate. A great dining experience on the Western Main Line!

Yelp
Everything is made well. The seasoning is perfect. Sauces are rich and exactly what you crave. The ambience reminds me of Aunt Bea's dated dining room, in the nicest of ways. The customers are loyal and service friendly. I've been twice. This stand alone restaurant with a hard to remember name always intrigued me. The reviews were good and when I finally went, I liked it. It has a vibe that reminds me of the dining room at a country club that I used to go to as a teen. We were definitely the youngest both times we went. The food is delicious. It's a BYO. Check it out if you haven't been.

Yelp
Bunha Faun flies below the radar for many, but for those in the know, this French-Asian restaurant is right on target. It's an unassuming, family-owned BYO that's been in what I think was probably the former site of a chain restaurant for many years now. While it may not look like much from the outside, inside is what it counts. And inside, while the decor may not be fancy (though they do have white tablecloths)--it feels like you're in a comfy living room--the food is delicious. While I've gone with my parents many times over the years, on this particular visit, we were celebrating their 59th anniversary. We came prepared with a bottle of red (a very good one) and a bottle of white. They start you off with a little basket of warm rolls and butter, and I opted for the snow pea and mushroom salad with a sesame dressing, while my parents went for their customary spinach salad (which also has mushrooms and bacon and other goodies in it). Then, we all ordered the rack of lamb, which has a mustard-infused breading and was tender and delicious, as was everything we ate, including the sides of potatoes and string beans (these are remarkably good). Portions and prices are very fair for the quality. The restaurant was fairly busy, and they had just one server--often someone helps bus tables (but with the holidays, they might have been short-staffed)--but he managed to take care of everyone surprisingly well. For dessert--we had the Cappuccino Truffle (think cappuccino ice cream with a dark chocolate shell) and Dark Side of the Moon cake (fudge cake and mousse layers soaked with coffee liqueur with chocolate ganache icing). Also, while we didn't get it tonight, we're particular fans of the duck, which they do in a raspberry sauce or a red wine sauce, and there are some delicious pasta appetizers with tasty cream sauces. The menu generally leans classic French, but then there are a pair of curries and other dishes that definitely show off the family's Asian roots. I can't say that the menu really changes much, but given that there's plenty of choice and everything is excellent, sometimes it's nice to go to a place where you know exactly what to expect and you're never disappointed. For unpretentious fine dining without going into Philly, Bunha Faun is a great choice.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing and go to for any occasion. It's about the fantastic food and everything else does not matter. Service is always good but cheif is tip notch. Environment is nothing burger but again a place to go if a foodie.

Yelp
We have been going to Bunha Faun and love the menu selection, the food taste and the service. Good parking and the new owners provided a great setting.

Yelp
Everything was wonderful. Food, service, atmosphere. All the meals very perfectly prepared.

Yelp
It's been about 20 years since our last visit (time flies) and I am happy to report that not much has changed, in a good way. Bunha Faun is one of those small family-owned restaurants that opened in the 1990s and was one of the only "fine dining" outposts in the suburbs. If you are seeking old charm decor, super friendly service, BYOB, Classique French-influenced recipes that served Keto and low carb options before they were a thing, then look no further. The freshly baked rolls are delicious when dipped in the garlic butter sauce of the escargot or the rich and scrumptious sauces. We ordered the black (presumably squid ink) lobster ravioli as a shared appetizer. It was good but I think I should have stuck to my other choice of the black pasta with seafood (shrimp, scallops, mussels?). The rainbow trout was stuffed with mushrooms, spinach and sundried tomatoes and draped in a luscious, velvety burgundy sauce. Another star was the otherwise humble Hericot Verts (that's green beans to you and me) which though a tad bit overcooked, had an amazing smokey flavor, similar to a "wok hay" you experience in good Chinese restaurants. Yes, you can come here for a romantic special occasion, or take advantage of the great value this gem provides to make any ordinary day special.

Yelp
Driven by this place hundreds of times and never realized it was a great restaurant. My son and I finally decided to stop in and try it after we got a reference from a friend and we couldn't have been happier with both you're with both pasta appetizers, the lamb And a special that they had that night. The only thing that we found a bit awkward was that they only Set the tables for reservations even though the restaurant didn't require reservations there reservations. When we arrived without them the host seemed to be pretty annoyed and then made up the table for us. We watched the same thing happen about a dozen times with other people coming in, So I'm guessing we just didn't know the lay of the land and should have made a reservation but either way the food was excellent and so was the service once we got seated

Yelp
Restaurant came highly recommended by family in the area, but was a disappointing experience. Only two servers appeared to be working to cover a dining room full of patrons. Most of the entree items were not available, per our server. Soup ordered by one member of our party did not taste well. Entree items we did order (salmon, chicken, veal) were fine, but there were long gaps between ordering, delivery of meal, refilling water, receiving the check, etc.

Yelp
I live 10 minutes away and have been dining here for 20 years. The menu does not change but that is OK because what is on there is so good. BUT, it has gone downhill! Service is VERY slow the past few times. One time they did not have any of the seafood entrees. The scalloped potatoes used to be creamy but the last few times they were dry. I think I heard it changed hands. Unfortunately, they need to do something....especially with the service. Hire another server! We regularly have our book club here but I'm not sure we will unless we see a significant change for the better. I hope so. BTW.....you could spruce it up a bit! It was never a swank place but honestly a few pictures from Homegoods would do the ambiance a world of good.

Yelp
It is true! Bunha Faun is back! Had a wonderful meal in the basically unchanged restaurant. One major plus is the chef! Apparently it is the original chef! The food was excellent. The night was slow so there was only one server ( Chris). He was extra attentive. They freshened up the dining room. Added red rose napkins and red roses on the tables. The candlelight was back. There were no specials ( like in the old days) but the menu had all the old standbys! Please head on back to Bunha Faun. It deserves to stay on the main line for many more years!

Edward J.

Yelp
I am seeing signs on the restaurant windows saying open! We will try to order take out tomorrow. We love the food

Yelp
This is the 3rd time we have been here over a period of about 4 years. I don't know why we keep trying other places because Bunha Faun is absolutely exceptional. On Saturday (party of 4) we had: Escargot Caesar Salad Mixed Green Salad Asparagus with a light vinaigrette dressing Lamb Chops Veal Chop with Marsala/mushroom sauce Breaded Oysters in a superb champagne mustard sauce Duck Creme Brulee Everything was delicious. Nothing over spiced , but everything so very tasty and 'plate lick-able'. Of course it's BYOB and the service, which is a little chaotic at times is always friendly and accommodating.

Richard C.

Yelp
This restaurant more than exceeded my expectations. The service was enjoyable, interactive, very pleasant and helpful, and the food itself was delicious. My wife and I shared a rack of lamb main course and had two appetizers, both of which of extremely tasty. Mine was the black angel hair pasta with crab meat, both of which excelled. With this being a byo, the cost of the meal was gentle and the quality was very high, which made for a very enjoyable dining experience. And parking is no problem at all, of course, because of the ample sized parking lot surrounding the restaurant. RBC

Yelp
Excellent food - this restaurant certainly lives up to the reviews. This cuisine is unique to the area, which I appreciated as a nice change up for a date night. The key to their success is the variety/quality of the sauces. With every dish we had, the sauces were so good that you could drink them. Seriously, save your bread and dip it in any leftover sauce from your entrée. All the pasta dishes we ordered were super flavorful! My salmon was well prepared and the steamed crabmeat on top was not too fishy either. I'm not a huge fan of duck, but my husband gave me a bite of his entree and it was also nicely prepared. A job well done overall. We will be visiting again in the future!

Andrea B.

Yelp
Never a disappointment, but since there need to be more words, for my review to be posted, I don't know what else to say

Prathamesh B.

Yelp
Black Ravioli and Escargot were amazing. The dessert was good too. Nice cozy place and amazing service .

Trish B.

Yelp
So upset. Moved away we always come here when in PA. Used to go to Nais in Havertown (same family). This was the blandest meal I've ever had. No seasoning. Waitress never asked if we needed anything. Def new owners it would never be like this. Sad after 20+ years we won't be coming there anymore.

Lynne F.

Yelp
We waited almost two hours for our food while othered who were seated after us were served theirs. There was no explanation offered by server who appeared annoyed by our concerns. He refused to continue serving us and handed another server the job. of finishing our meal service. We were not offered coffee or dessert , but were unceremoniously presented with the bill. Apparently the customer is always wrong in this restaurant. Disappointing! Nothing tastes good two hours after being seated!
google avatar

H S.

Yelp
The food here is consistently impressive. I personally enjoy the black angel hair pasta , the creamy mushroom soup, and the escalope of chicken. Not to mention their decadent desserts that are a perfect finish to any night. The servers are also always attentive and polite.

Yelp
Bunha Faun is still...after all if these years, the best food anyone could ever hope for. The chef is a sorcerer of sauces. I have never tasted anything like his cuisine, there are few places that even could rival Bunha Faun's culinary magic. Like many great small and understated gems around the world. Bunha Faun isn't in the running for best decor...but with food this good, you wouldn't care if you ate your dinner on the hood of your car. Must haves: Sauteed Oysters, Escargot, Steamed Salmon topped with crabmeat, roast duck, rainbow trout stuffed with sun dried tomatoes and a burgundy wine sauce. I could keep going but it would make your day to visit this old school haunt, I promise it is something very special.

Donna E.

Yelp
I've eaten here twice and I can honestly say it's the best food I've eaten in years. The sauces are rich and so tasty. Grab a piece of bread and sop it up. You don't want to leave a drop on your plate. The scallops were of a high quality- not rubbery, and delicious. Other standouts were the lamb chops and duck.
google avatar

Vionna L.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. I love the fact that it is BYOB. The server was very nice. When it gets busy, the service gets slow cause they only have ONE server for the whole floor. The food is very tasteful but a little too salty for my taste. Besides the fact that it is quite pricey, the major down side is the location. It is in the middle of no where!! It was so dark at night we missed it twice. I would said it is a very pleasant experience overall but doesn't worth my hour drive there.

Pam R.

Yelp
I revisited this restaurant after a 15 year break -- I don't know why I waited so long. We had a group of 8 friends getting together before the holidays. The place is not fancy on the inside or outside and I don't think anything changed in 15 years. However, every appetizer and dinner that all 8 of us ordered was fabulous. My personal favorite was the oyster appetizer. The salads were fresh and creative in the Asian- French fusion style. Everyone enjoyed their dinners and all were cooked perfectly whether it be seafood, chicken or beef. In a packed restaurant, the service was attentive but not overbearing. They kept our many bottles of BYOB wine flowing. In an area where restaurants come and go, Bunha Faun remains with little fanfare and advertising. They just have excellent, creative dishes with consistent service. This is a little gem in Fraser.
google avatar

Steve R.

Yelp
Well done! Had the veal, cooked to perfection with a lovely sauce, meat was tender. The escargot was delicious, Caesar salad on point and even made room for desert. Price was more than reasonable. Will definitely go back next time in town. This is a hidden gem in Malvern area.

Tom S.

Yelp
We visited for the first time last Saturday and enjoyed every aspect of our dinner. We were warmly greeted by our waitress Melissa and soon started with warm dinner rolls and butter. The appetizers were delicious-green pasta and mushroom soup. The dinners were exceptional - veal escalope and brochette of tenderloin. Wonderful sauces complemented by great wine. What a night! We'll be back!!! T n T

Yelp
Truly delicious, well presented food, staff was really accommodating with a group of 10. BYOB which is great by me. No one had anything but rave reviews for the apps, entrees and dessert. The only negative I would offer was the decor needs help, it is an older and not well done dining room. See you there, cheers

Lynn I.

Yelp
OMG!! The food was delicious! Our party of 6 had the mushroom soup, escargot, Cesar salad, snow pea salad, trout, salmon, veal and several deserts. Our waiter was attentive and professional. Our only complaints were the noise level and the unused door. It's not a big place but I could only hear the people on either side of me. And, on the unused door with the blue mini blinds, the blinds need to extend all the way down or find another fix. One member of our party was facing the door and had to keep her sunglasses on until sunset because the light was very visible thru the bottom part of the door.

Yelp
Had the pleasure recently of dining here for the 2nd time. Was a Thursday evening and reasonably busy, about 1/2 full. As with the prior visit at least on Thursdays they clientele tends to retirees or older folks with their adult sons and daughters. Have to disagree somewhat with the previous reviewer they advertise as French with an Oriental Flair (on the sign outside). I studied French and took a French cooking class in High School (a long time ago!). The emphasis is on French cuisine with Asian influences with some Asian stand alone items. As before my server was Nissa, a very pleasant and efficient young lady. Very knowledgeable about the menu items. Be sure to consider the specials, they have many starters and entrees daily. This time I choose the Oriental Noodles as my appetizer and the Escalop of Veal as my entree. The veal was outstanding, I really enjoyed it. For dessert had the Creme Brulee which I'd rate as very good, but not the best I've ever had (we all know there are many, many version of Creme Brulee). My previous visit I had Red Pepper Soup, a Fried Oysters appetizer, and the Stuffed Trout (mushrooms, spinach, and sundried tomatoes IIRC). All were specials of the day and equally outstanding. Had a mixed Sorbet for dessert that time. White tablecloths and candlelight but not overally "fancy", not stuffy. The napkins fashioned into the shape of a duck are a nice touch. The warm bread is really tasty. Portions are smaller so be sure to have a starter with your entree. Not your cheapest option but certainly appropriate for the outstanding food and level of service that you receive here. Oh yes, BYOB, and I've yet to see a table there that hadn't brought at least one bottle of wine. Highly recommended and wish I lived closer!

Yelp
I am almost afraid to write a review for this wonderful gem, because I don't want too many people to know about it. You wouldn't know it's here, Unless you know about it. Really. It is so non-descript. I think this used to be the old Pizza Hut building. And if you squint, you can imagine it. Unfortunately the interior does need some updating, some painting and some dusting. But let's talk about the food and the service. It has a Asian/French flavor. We arrived for a mid week reservation and the place was near empty. But by the time our waiter had recited the 6 or 7 daily entrée specials...........yes...6 or 7....the place was starting to fill up. I had the scallops with shrimp in a lemon garlic sauce with chives. My husband had the French onion soup and sea bass. Friends has the snow pea / mushroom appetizer , arugula salad, green angel hair pasta, and another entrée (sorry, I forget). Everything was delicious. But I have to tell you there was no room for dessert after we all dipped our bread into the sauce from my seafood entrée. The service was exceptionally polite and attentive. We don't come here often, but when we do, we enjoy it

Yelp
For Wifey's birthday dinner, we ventured down rt 30 in Frazer to Bunha Faun. Located in an old Dairy Queen style Ice Cream building, no frills exterior, and simple interior decor. A few reviews had negative comments about the building/decor, YOU CAN'T EAT the walls. Service was extremely slow. Maybe this is a BYOB pace which we never BYOB. We go for food. Black angel hair pasta appetizer with crab meat was outstanding (no picture) wifey had curry of chicken, very good, I had Sauteed Shrimp, Scallops & Artichoke very good, warm bread was very good, Served with scallops potato and string beans - two cokes $65.. only real negative, it took over 70 minutes to get our dinner, when we walked in there were 4 other tables. this is a BYOB and mostly 60+ in age,,, ONLY open 5-9 S-Th 5-10 F-S

Yelp
I had a nice experience here this past Saturday evening. Decor is faded but the food is delicious. Our table ordered the: - crab ravioli app - escolap of veal entrée - salmon with lump crabmeat, special fish of the day - brochette of tenderloin - another entrée I can't quite remember but it was also a special. We were celebrating my belated birthday and they surprised me with the Tiramisu Cake for dessert. We also ordered some sort of raspberry white chocolate ice cream truffle which was excellent. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Also enjoy the fact that it's a BYO :)

LeeAnn W.

Yelp
These folks deserve recognition. Friendly, welcoming, great prices and most importantly, great food! The kind of place you hope will be around forever. We will be back (despite the 3 Hour drive). It's so worth it!

Colleen S.

Yelp
We have been going to this restaurant for years -- thought they were honest, good people. WRONG. Without telling us, they put our party of 9 -- who went there after a conference to dine and talk together -- in their upstairs rather ratty and dirty room -- with a 50th anniversary party of about 40, who gave speeches all night. I don't blame the revelers. I blame the restaurant manager/owner for gross inconsideration of their customers. The anniversary party people didn't want us there; they thought we were intruding on their party. And we couldn't even have a conversation with our group. It was a horrible evening. I complained to the manager; he basically said it was Sat. night and they were making money by filling up the restaurant. So you decide if you want to do business with these kind of people. I'll never ever go there again.

Yelp
Went with 5 friends on NYE. We were seated at a tiny table in a corner and I doubt that 6 dinner plates would fit on it! We were next to an empty spacious table for 6, and told that it was reserved, even tho we TOO made a reservation. They moved us to a different table with more room. Service was too slow. My entree was tasty but came without a veg or any side dish. As we were almost finished my friend pointed this out to our waiter. He admitted that he forgot and would make an adjustment to the bill ($2.00). Ordering dessert, and waiting for our checks took much too long, as did the wait for change.

Yelp
Escargot was superb! I had the filet with peppercorn Madeira sauce and it melted in my mouth. Rest of the table were impressed with their dinner too. Service was friendly and informative. Will give it many more visits!! Only concern was interior plant scape. Several hanging baskets with dying greens. Hard to create an atmosphere.

Yelp
We have patronized Bunha Faun for more than 25 years. The food is consistently delicious. Unfortunately, the customer service is unpalatable. Several months ago we were having dinner and our waiter "lost" my entree. so, things happen and we let it go. Last night we returned for dinner after making reservations for 2 @7:00. We arrived and were shown to a table against a wall and up against a party of 20 which would not have accommodated 2 10 year olds let alone adults. When we asked for another table, we were told it would be a few minutes. While waiting in the entry area we counted 3 servers one of whom was doubling as a hostess, this for a completely full restaurant. After 20 minutes we left. Adieu escargot, farwell bibb lettuce salad, good bye green angel hair pasta. As wonderful as the food is the service is horrendous.

Yelp
This place was a little confusing, but the food was good. If you ever get really bored on the mainline, I'd recommend this place. Otherwise, you could probably find better food at a lower price. The service was spot on, and while the sign for the place says Thai/French, it's really mostly French with some Thai inspiration. In fact while we were there, a couple left because there wasn't enough Thai, and they were in the mood for Thai. The dishes we got were 50/50. One was really good, one was really bland. The soups were spectacular. They have a pretty small menu, but they had a lot of specials, particularly seafood. The environment is weird, but they have candles at the table which make the place 100% more romantic.

Yelp
Go for the excellent food. Housed in a former Dairy Queen barn-looking building, the outside is not indicative of the great food inside. Inside is plain and a bit dated, but very clean. I have been here several times over many years and the menu highlights include oysters in a cream vermouth sauce (a must for oyster lovers), escargot, black angel hair pasta in a champagne sauce, and rainbow trout. Roast duckling was a bit over cooked, but still soft enough and very tasty. Service is very friendly, but can be slow. BYO keeps cost reasonable - typically in the $40 per-person range.

Yelp
It is apparent that this place was formally a Pizza Hut or some other sort of chain restaurant from the shape of the building (if you have never been, trust me you can tell). However they have somehow managed to transform this place into a Thai-French fusion fine dining BYOB. The food was more French fare highlighted by Thai sauces and spices. The sauces were to die for and mixed beautifully in the entrees. I had one of the specials - salmon topped with crabmeat in a creamy, spicy sauce. It took a lot for me not to lick the plate. My husband had the Escalop of Veal - which he thoroughly enjoyed, and also had to prevent himself from drinking the sauce off the plate, but did order extra bread to soak it up. Wonderful food, reasonably priced, continuous customer flow, but the decor could use some work. A bit outdated style, the white tablecloths just don't work anymore. I feel like a restaurant makeover could make the venue match up to the delicious food that they serve.

Consistently quality fare. A pleasant mix of French/Asian cuisine

Yelp
Just ate Bunha Faun delivered by DoorDash. We had the veal, rack of lamb, and the tenderloin of beef. The food was wonderful, even after the travel time. Also, the delivery service from DoorDash was great.

Yelp
First time and will go back. Yes, the decor is a little tired, but the food and service is very good. The escargot in garlic butter was a little on the dry side, but the onion soup was excellent. The escallop of veal with wild mushrooms was tender and very well seasoned. The 1/2 duck with raspberry sauce was crispy and the sauce was sweet , but no too syrupy. Didn't have room for dessert, but several things sounded good. They have their own parking lot, take all major cards and it is BYO.

Yelp
My wife and I have been eating here for many years and have never had a bad meal. I would recommend anything on the menu! A great BYOB!
