Google
Great store for KC visitors. Decent prices. Lots of LGBTQ inclusive clothes. Rating is entirely based on staff/customer service. Every salesperson I encounter was rude. They don’t allow bags on their basement floor and when I asked where I could store my things the salesperson just rolled her eyes at me. Updated: Changed rating from 2 stars to 1 after the store’s response below. Clearly they don’t understand that a customer asking for help should not be treated with such rude indignation when they are trying to follow your store guidelines.

I’m visiting from out of town and absolutely love a local gift shop! This one is so cute and has so many fun things to look at and buy. Grabbed a pair of socks and a couple of trinkets. I would have purchased more, but it felt like I was being monitored for shoplifting and that the team working there didn’t necessarily want my money. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Received an item from this business and called customer service to discuss the condition of the item. I was speaking with Cecelia who claimed to be the manager. I started explaining the issue with the item and it she was immediately in defense mode. She told me to steam the hat that they are not responsible for shipping issues. I told her the small box was in perfect condition that this was clearly a packing issue not a shipping issue! The part that really pisses me off is I chose to buy from this business because they are a small business. I now regret that decision especially because the item is available at many other retailers. Buyer BEWARE! This is a $36 dollar hat by the way! Maybe this business should allow me to return the hat at their expense and they can steam it and then ship it to another customer in an appropriate size box! Managerial 101 provide solutions and resolution not excuses. Unacceptable.

Google
The best art gallery in Kansas City! It's slightly off the beaten path in the East Crossroads, but there's free parking and one doesn't have to deal with wading through a sea of people on 1st Friday to get there. Plenty to keep people occupied because there is so much space filled with the most amazing art. They also have really fun events, classes and an outdoor silent movie night when the weather is nice. Go check it out on 1st Friday or during their normal business hours!

Google
The Bunker will certainly fulfill your desire for cleverly captioned Kansas City garb, but it IS very unreasonably priced for being partially Made in China. Lol, fight me @bunker_kc. Choose them for special pieces that you can’t accidentally get food on and try not to worry about them constantly hounding you like you’re stealing. They seem to have a problem with theft. Cute clothes and tumblers, though!

Google
The most incredible customer service I have received in so long. You can tell they go above and beyond and truly care about their customers! Can’t wait to visit again next time I am in town :)

Krista from The Bunker was great to work with! Honored to have my stickers sold here!

Google
Nice store with some variety. Staff was helpful and helped me find some good gifts for my family. Great shopping experience.

Yelp
Just thought I'd leave a review on the great service I received at this store while visiting from California. The man at the counter on 10/6/24, was very professional and courteous. He made me and my family feel very welcome there, Nevertheless, we returned to the store the following day on 10/7/24, and bought a few more items to take home. We just wanted to show our appreciation for the great service before we left. Thanks again.

Yelp
Chicken wings were good, but the music was very loud as it was difficult to hear the waitress.

Yelp
Please don't even bother on karaoke Wednesday, DJ skipped over me while I was walking g to the stage. Really enjoyed being ignored by both the bartenders. I love karaoke and let a lot slide on those nights, but I'll never come back again!!!

Yelp
Powder Pink Santa Barbra Nickel board with baby blue wheels. Began the journey to fishtail around town and led me Escapist. Love and well wishes! Vans skate!

Yelp
The chick that works here is extremely rude every time I come in this store.. I am ALWAYS POLITE until you aren't back to me. When I see she is there I dread it, she has awful energy and I will not be back after this last engagement I had. I am a frequent shopper at this store and it is so unfortunate that she even has a job in customer service. Being in customer service myself and manager experience I would never hire her in my store. Customer lost.

Yelp
This is definitely a great store for any kind of wearable sports gift you may need to get from babies to adults. I've been in here many times but I have to say when I went there prior to Christmas, the folks working the shop were extraordinarily helpful not that they normally harm but they were wonderfully helpful allowed me to get in and out of there very quickly which is what I needed at the time again great local t-shirts, great unique gifts -- worth taking the time to shop there.

Yelp
Over time, trends have come and gone, but one constant at the corner of Broadway and Westport Road has been The Bunker. They always seem to be at the forefront of what's in. Their shoe wall and accessories area reflects this. So does their collection of clothing that you can buy during the day and wear out that night. They've also cornered the market in Kansas City-themed shirts and gifts. I'll admit, I don't shop here as much as I used to, but if I'm in the mood for something new, The Bunker is one of the first places I look.

Yelp
I've been here twice in the past week. They really have some gems made right in Kansas City! My absolute favorites are the LCWax candles. I went back today to buy 6 more! Ended chatting with Drew who sources all the local sauces they sell. He recommended some good ones. Thanks Drew! At check out I kind of fell in love with Abby. One of thee most beautiful girls I've encountered. Hi Abby, if you're single find me on the gram! LBVS. They also have other items not locally sourced like stance socks, Docs, Herschel, Saucony, and more. If you get a chance stop in and treat yourself and tell Abby I said hi!

Yelp
As much as I used to frequent Westport, I'm shocked I never actually went inside this store. I wanted a KC hat and turned to my friend, Google, to find me one with free shipping...because, #lazy. Enter, bunkeronline.com. I thought I would be hip and try to pull off the flat bill hat look, but I was sadly mistaken. Translation: I'm not hip. I made my way down to the store front and I found myself in KC goods heaven. I plopped my purchase down and the guys told me to go take a look; when I found one that made me look somewhat hip, I took it up to the register and the guy said, "yea, this is our packing slip" and off he went to exchange my purchase. The hats were cheaper online but they happily price matched; and I walked out of there feeling a little bit cooler with my fancy new KC gear.

Yelp
Granted,it was Westport art fair weekend but the girl who helped was extremely short with me.I was looking at a pair of converse that the drop tag listed several sizes available as she went to check the color I wanted I asked her to check on black as well to save her time. She snapped that black was highly unlikely. She returned and just said"nope" then informed me that they were women's shoes. I own 12 pair of all star low tops and the sizes are unisex clearly marked on the inside of the tongue. One gentleman that worked there however was extremely friendly . It's not the first time I've been practically belittled at this store. Side note: your window displays have needed help for YEARS!

Yelp
Like a local version of Urban Outfitters but with a bit of an odd vibe. As I scoped the scene I spied a security guard with a side arm who was playing on his phone (he must be a ninja), employees on the floor minding their own business (unless customers were folding shirts), and all of them were bobbing their heads to LMFAO. Party Rock was in the house apparently. Good thing I was on a mission that didn't require assistance which was getting t-shirts!!! There were lots to choose from: KC w/heart, No Coast (love it), Royals, but the winner was one of Bunker's own prints, the KCMO. I scoped the scene once more while at the register and security guard was still on his phone (probably on a crime solving app), "I'm in Miami !@$&!" was playing and the employees were still bobbing their heads. Anywho...I was happy that they were having a sale which was $5 off when spending $25. I felt that was a discount for having to listen to 3 LMFAO songs. Tourist Tip: good place to get some KC tees when wandering Westport but don't expect the super friendly and helpful service that you have probably experienced at other places in Kansas City.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for t-shirts, throw in locality and a wide variety and you've got yourself a new t-shirt model (except I'm paying you) to show off all the cool, unique KC-native shirts from this store. I've purchased three local, KC-native-and-proud-of-it-just-check-out-these-cool shirts here, so far the best selection in town for local shirts with this wide of variety, and I will continue to come here first to check out the local shirt selection. Transcending beyond the local t-shirts that this place offers, it also has a nice selection of shoes, boots, Rainbow sandals, causal shoes, name brand watches, affordable and trendy sunglasses, minuscule camping gear (backpacks, camel bags, insulated sleeping bags), large selection of button-down shirts and board shorts, unique and fun socks and casual and business casual pants. The music, as previously stated by fellow Yelpers, is more geared towards the newer generation and tends to be rap, dance and electronic, which I get down with and enjoy, but if it's not your kind of music then this could be a potential issue. There is no escaping the music, it's not blaring, but it's not subtle. The staff was friendly the numerous times I've visited this store. I will say that they aren't the type to keep offering their help to you, which I tend to prefer, so they will ask once, maybe twice, and won't ask again unless you tell them you need assistance and then they will happily help. This is a good place to check out if you're walking around Westport or a good way to pass the time if you're waiting to eat at any restaurant around this store (located right in heart of Westport). This store is a bit pricey, you can find it more affordable else where when it comes to certain items, but it isn't outrageously priced.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about Bunker. While I like to be able to go there and try on Toms and Birkenstocks in person, I feel, like other reviewers, sometimes the people working are too cool for school. They can be really friendly some times, and others are too busy "stocking" to look up. They have unique designs on KC stuff (some their own) and also a cute little kids section. I think it can be a good place to take out of town guests to share the un-Plaza side of the city, too. Overall, it's a nice change of pace from the mall - just know that the service is very inconsistent.

Yelp
I made a purchase online. For a week I received no message that had been shipped, so I sent an email and inquired. They told me my item was out of stock (however the website and my order said it was in fact in stock). All the while, that's fine, inventory mistakes happen. But why did I have to reach out to them for them to finally tell me my order couldn't be fulfilled? Shouldn't they have contacted me right away? Also, when I told them to just include another item as substitute, I got no confirmation as to what item would ultimately be in my order, nor was offered an apology for the stocking error and delay. I love the bunker as a store, but there customer service is absolutely horrible. Be better.
google avatar

Sam M.

Yelp
Slow shipping. Told me they would ship 2 days ago and still haven't received confirmation that my package is shipped. Told them I needed it here by the weekend and they said they would get it out "first thing" in the morning. As stated I have yet to receive any confirmation 2 days later.

Yelp
Beware of their return policy: NO CASH REFUNDS - store credit or exchange only. They have a little sign next to the cash register that states this but... given that two other customers were surprised to discover the return policy within 10 minutes after me, I'm going to go out on a limb and suspect that 90%+ people first find out about the policy when they actually try to return an item. There's nothing wrong with the policy itself, but I wish they would either have a bigger sign or the cashiers were trained to tell the customers before ringing up the items that no cash refunds are allowed. The items they sell are not cheap, so it's a little annoying finding out something like this after making a purchase. Okay, off my soapbox. To be fair... all in all, if you're looking for some of the iconic KC gear that you see around town, you'll probably locate it at this store. Good quality, good selection, and good location in the Westport area. If they were more transparent on their return policy, I'd probably rate it 4.5 stars.

Yelp
The Bunker rocks for cool stuff! Converse, Womens & Mens clothing, kids stuff, kids shoes (super adorbs), little retro gadgets, plus custom KC merchandise and a TON MORE! Every time I've been here I've been treated superbly. Actually I need to go back soon since Spring weather is on it's way (ok, ok so I'm crossing my fingers!) and I'm in desperate need of a fresh, new KC hat and shirt! Please support local businesses and stop by The Bunker!

Yelp
I stopped in here while doing Christmas shopping, not really expecting to find anything (the windows looked a bit trendy for my liking) and I came out with a whole different perspective of the store. Yes, it has all the trendy stuff in the front. Most of it is not my cup o' coffee, but dig around, you'll find some treasures (mark downs are in the basement, by the way). I found two necklaces in the display cases for my friends that were made by local craftswomen. There is a really huge accessories section and I'd be hard pressed to resist *that*. Shoes are in the back. And they have a very large selection of everything from combat boots to those icky hipster slip on sneakers (and I don't mean Vans, although I think they have Vans, too. I'm talking those slip ons my grandmother used to wear. Please make that trend go away). Matt E mentions the darling assortment of children's clothes, shoes and accessories. I found two very special gift tins, one a "make your own bunny kit" and one "explorer" kit. I went into this store with Dana H and she found several really perfect winter coats. Not icky trendy, but super cute and classy! I like Bunker. I don't like the name, however. I can never remember the name, so I'm always like, "Oh, that store by Broadway cafe that usually has Paul Frank T-shirts in the windows." The name Bunker just does not stick, probably because there is nothing Bunker-like about it.

Yelp
Walking out the door right now with a purchase worst customer service most unfriendly people I've met in Kansas City since I've arrived the girl actually answered my question turned her back to me and we were done with the conversation
google avatar

Yelp
I have not been to the store but I have purchased two watches from them through their website; a Vestal which I returned, and a Nixon which I kept. Prices are competitive, ship times are quick (free shipping for every order), and a 365 day return policy. Both transactions were pleasurable and I would gladly purchase from them again in the future.
google avatar

Yelp
Best little store in KC! If your looking for something 10 other people won't be wearing this is your spot. Unique and funny gifts, shoes and the best KC shirt selection. Fun sock collection for the perfect gift
google avatar

Nyla K.

Yelp
A tad expensive but it's all local and the KC tshirts are of really good quality. There used to be a downstairs with sales but not sure if that's still going on. The staff could be a bit friendlier but eh that's ok. A cool KC local spot in Westport where you can spend money after you've had too much to drink during brunch! Haha
google avatar

Jededoobie L.

Yelp
Cool Shiny Sh*t? Yes. But, the sales clerks actually are too cool, and make it excruciating to ask for assistance. Please don't make it hard for me to give you my money. - Not surprised to see everyone else's comments on the same. Rarely go out of my way to yelp something like this. These fools are wack. Especially the clerk with dermal piercings all over his face that never made eye-contact with me, or broke his conversation with another clerk bragging about being a bar back at some Aura bar. Give me my shit so i can leave.
google avatar

Yelp
I like the Bunker for their unique clothing, purses, shoes, t-shirts, loads of unique KC logo shirts, socks, hats, stickers, sunglasses etc. Truly a very eclectic store. The Bunker is In such a great location, close to loads of great eateries!! Check them out next time you're in the Westport area.
google avatar

Ilene H.

Yelp
I loved the variety of this store. Some things were really pricey other items were reasonable. They have everything from the soft tees to VANS to books and much more. This is definitely a ONE-STOP-SHOP for the holidays. I am returning on my next trip.
google avatar

Ashley G.

Yelp
Cute clothing and soft graphic tees! What more could you want? It's like urban outfitters meets non-touristy local t-shirt shop. Cute jewelry, souvenirs and even clearance rack. Need that last years champion t-shirt? It's in that bin :)
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
If you're in Westport the Bunker is a great local shop to check out! It boasts local KC made clothes, and a bunch of shoes and novelty items. I usually make my way there while waiting for a table at Beer Kitchen.
google avatar

Pam A.

Yelp
Love their t-shirt selection! I went here specifically for one and found my size with no problems at all. They are a little pricey ($30-34) but, hey I'll support the locals. It seems like they aren't true to size and run a little big too, FYI. Can't wait to rock it when I go out of town on vacation this summer! Recommend taking someone here who's visiting KC. It's basically a hip souvenir shop.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
I have never posted a Yelp review but thought that I would after reading some reviews of one of my favorite stores. It's conveniently located with a great variety of items: clothing, kids stuff, shoes, books, novelties. In addition to picking up KC and KU shirts here, I get the majority of my "everyday" clothing here, too. The quality is good. I wanted to address the service comments. I've been shopping here for a long time and have found the service to be great, attentive but not annoying. Perfect
google avatar

Tina R.

Yelp
Cute store. A lot of cute KC tees. I am out here on vacation for a week and this store has the KC essentials I need to take back with me to Cali. Great customer service and a parking lot right next to it.
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
My wife wanted to stop here after dinner at McCoy's to get a new pair of Toms despite my insistence that it wasn't worth the trouble. I half joked that the same guy who is always there but too cool to help anyone would be on duty and guess what...he was! Even though they weren't busy at all and had several employees around we didn't get any offers of help after several minutes so we just left. While it's a bummer that they didn't want our business, on the bright side, it's doubtful that I will be dragged here after dinner to shop for shoes again!
google avatar

Beau E.

Yelp
It was a pretty short visit. I wanted a pair of Birkenstocks, so I went to the shoe department and waited for the clerk to finish up with 2 ladies who were also buying shoes. Apparently he knew them, because my wait turned into watching him drink a can of soda and talk about his drinking and debauchery from the night before. Once the ladies commited to the shoe purchase he looked at me and walked away. I waited a couple more minutes for him to come back, but he just walked aimlessly around the store sipping on his soda and lip syncing to the loud shitty music they pump into the sales floor. Does anyone really crank R&B arpeggios? That crap is like country music. It appeals to a select crowd. You either love it or hate it. There are out of work drummers out there who'd like to choke the hell out of recording artists who use a drum machine in the studio. I left and got what I wanted at a store on The Plaza.
google avatar

Liz L.

Yelp
Delightful store with the most charming team I've ever met! Carmel, Bella, and Drew were AMAZING - helpful, charming, and lovely. Helped us find stuff to do while we visit KC for the weekend. Could not have been a more delightful experience!!!
google avatar

Raymond Y.

Yelp
Stopped in with a friend to check out the KCMO tees and hats. Didn't end up purchasing one of those, and instead a Charlie Hustle tee. The store is a good variety and mix off apparel, accessories, knick-knacks, and letter-pressed cards, candles, art, watches, shoes, etc. And of course a selection of KC Royals gear and apparel. The employees are very friendly and check in on if you're finding everything OK. I would describe this store as a mini version of an Urban Outfitters except more infused with local KC pride.
google avatar

Beth W.

Yelp
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I ordered a pair of sunglasses online from them & called to check on shipping dates because I had not received anything & a guy told me that wasn't their problem and to check with my post office. I asked to speak to a manager & they asked me why & just left me on hold. I called back and they answered the phone, "Look, we told you to check with your post office, we sent them." I asked again to speak with a manager & the guy on the phone was a jerk. I honestly couldn't believe what was happening. I kept calling back and they kept hanging up on me. I told them they lost my business & they guy said he didn't care they had lots of customers. I think the people that work here/own it are the ones writing good reviews, not the customers!

Yelp
It pains me to write this. I love supporting local business, especially places like Bunker. I've always had good experiences here, until a few days ago. I came in with my boyfriend right as they were opening to pick up a last minute gift exchange gift. We were wondering around obviously not sure what to get, and not one of the 5 *extra* hip employees asked if we needed help. I get it - it's really hard to be the most chill. Whatever, we found some socks that were great. But only AFTER asking about a few stocking hats. The questions must have been the worst and the hardest to answer, or maybe the employees are trained to seem annoyed by "Does this come in another color?" Finally - to the SUPER hipster that wears an SF Giants world serious champion hat - get over your self. Learn how to take a joke, or don't wear a stupid Giants hat in Kansas City. I don't care that you're from Southern California nor did I need your life story trying to make a joke about your hat. Thanks for making sure I didn't ask for your help from there on. Bunker management : your staff needs some serious lessons in customer service. Being a hipster doesn't mean you should be an asshole to your customers.

Yelp
I have been so very happy to discover that The Bunker has found its focus as of late. One of my problems with The Bunker has always been it's just packed full of merchandise that stays on the floor even if it doesn't seem to be moving. It has always been so full that it is hard to walk around in the confusing maze of retail. The windows have always been hap hazard and a little uninspired. But on my last couple of visits, I'm happy to report that The Bunker seems to be stepping up its game. The floor is not nearly as crowded as it always has been in the past, making it much more easy to shop and much more easy to appreciate some of the great merchandise that they do carry. Great selection of watches and accessories. I can sometimes find great shoes and then on other occasions, it seems like the shoe choices haven't changed for about 2 years. The clothing seems much more focused and cared for than ever before. It made me happy all holiday season to drive by this prime piece of real-estate and see bright, lit up holiday windows that made The Bunker really stand out. If they have done anything in the past, I truly never did notice, not until this year. I still wish for a complete floor layout and visual overhaul and lighting that didn't seem so depressing, but in comparison to before, I am mostly happy with what The Bunker is offering these days.
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
I've been in a couple of times, recently, and the customer service has been awesome both times. This is rare, as I used to work retail, and I know how often it is that you want to blow up the outside world while doing it, as my man Chris Cornell might say. The guy who was working the first time even noticed my flyers for the greatest play reading in the history of Rockhurst University and offered to put them up without me even asking. Clearly he knows talent when he sees it. They have a large shoe selection, with tons of stuff usually marked off or on sale. Personally I have absolutely no idea what's cool or in-season, and the only names I recognize are Puma, Vans, Adidas, and Mark's-which is the company that donates a pair of shoes for every pair that you buy. I'd buy them, except I walk so much I wear holes in my socks inside of a month, so no telling what I'd do to those slip-on savior shoes. Really, they have a lot of everything that you might need, they're a local, independent business and their employees have bee super-cool everytime I've been in. Plus, they're in Westport-an area with some personality, versus Plaza-where dreams go to die. You should shop here.
google avatar

Dan D.

Yelp
At first I wasn't really sure I would like this place but after many many visits back I am a fan. Great watch and sunglass selection takes this places to a different level. Check out the hat and t-shirt selection, great stuff. Staff is friendly and always there to help.
google avatar

Jess J.

Yelp
Such a fun store. I plan on purchasing essentially every gift I ever get for my young niece and nephews here, thus cementing my status as the cool aunt from a time before they develop full powers of speech, and providing a needed grounding in wee hipsterdom. Not enough toddlers wear arch tee-shirts with vaguely caustic slogans, IMO. If anybody sees a trio of towheaded, cherub-like pipsqueaks from Chicago loitering in the vicinity of Broadway and Westport Road, trying to bum PBR, Parliament Lights, and tattoo money off passers by, you'll know who to blame. Yep, the lady who got them sock monkey backpacks and "What happens in Missouri stays in Missouri" tees. Really, though, outside of having an awesomely cool kid's section, one neat enough to attract even the likes of people like myself, who do not have children, this place does have the best gifts and novelties. Prices can be steep for what amounts to very casual attire, but clearance racks yield treasurelike finds from time to time, too. I've always found the staff to be friendly, and this is the store where I discovered that, yes, PF Flyers are MUCH more comfortable than Chuck Taylors.
google avatar

Sean P.

Yelp
The customer service for my online shopping needs is top notch. They really go above and beyond in getting you the items you want/need at a competitive price. Great people (Kurt), great service, great prices, fresh gear, and fast shipping. Need I say more? - Sean...a customer for life.

Yelp
Moved here recently and discovered this place. Originally thought it was a cool local spot that had some unique clothing, shoes, etc... I was wrong. Most of the stuff you can find at other retailers. For instance - I bought a pair of boots for about $100 at The Bunker, one week later found the same exact pair at DSW for $35 less. OK, no problem, I'll just return the overpriced boots back to The Bunker (unworn). Turns out they don't do refunds. What kind of retailer doesn't do refund for unworn items? Every retailer has a right to their own store policies but at least have the cashiers tell the customer before they make the purchase. Or have a big sign at least! So i spent $100 on boots, now im stuck with a $100 gift card to this overpriced, pretentious hipster bullshit store. I would recommend a place like Urban Outfitters any day over this place
google avatar

Matt E.

Yelp
I've always liked coming to The Bunker, specifically for shoes and t-shirts. While this store has a reputation of being a bit expensive, i've found both of those things to be reasonably priced. However, what REALLY inspired me to write this review was my discovery of Baby Bunker! Little baby Vans, little baby NASA jackets, little baby Rockabilly clothes? It's so cute i might barf! Now, this stuff is all super pricey, especially for clothes that a baby will wear for 3 months max. But it's not MY kid and I'm spoiling somebody else, so it feels good rather than irresponsible to spend $40 on a baby shirt.

Yelp
I use to drive from Overland Park specifically to go to the Bunker and I still make special trips here just because it's that good. I'm writing a review because of the excellent customer service I received recently with Drew. I called right after they opened inquiring about a dress I saw in the window and he found said dress in my size and put it on hold for me (during a sale and tax free weekend, no less). So that was awesome. I also went back today and they are paying your tax until "the government gets their shit figured out"-sweet!

Yelp
Fantastic Customer Service! I recently moved from KC to Las Vegas and decided to take advantage of The Bunker's Cyber Monday special to order some KC gear. I received my shipment in just a couple of days, but one out of the two shirts ordered came in the wrong. I emailed Bunker and they quickly popped a replacement shirt in the mail and directed me to return my original item once I got the new shipment. Sadly, USPS lost my replacement package. I informed the Bunker that my new shipment never actually made it to me, and no questions asked they sent me another one. I always enjoyed shopping at The Bunker when I'm in KC, and it's great to know that ordering from out of state is also just as awesome!

Yelp
So I've been to The Bunker a few times now, probably enough to have a reasonable opinion. The first time I stopped in, I was looking for a coat and while I didn't find what I was looking for, I did find one I liked better. Yeah, The Bunker seems to be that kind of place. The kind of place where you may not find what you thought you wanted but you may find something you're crazy about anyway. I'm kind of undecided on the clothes. I like the clothes, I really do but it seems weird to me that a clothing store that exists with an anti-establishment persona would have pricey clothes. Don't get me wrong, everything I've seen is well-made, I just feel a bit of an identity crisis when I shop there. Some items are decidedly earthy and all about sustainable production (yep, they have TOMS) and then they have Converse, now owned by Nike. This isn't a problem for folks who buy Nike's but for folks who buy TOMS, it may be a hard pill to swallow to support a store that also sells the antithesis of a shoe like TOMS. This whole shoe thing is an example, the same is true for their clothing and accessories. There's something to be said about service and The Bunker seems to have a fairly good supply of it. I've always been greeted as soon as I come into the door but they don't hover, I've always been allowed to wander around at my own leisure. Tonight I bought a pair of shoes and was schooled in a little lacing trick. Not sure if it works yet but the guy seemed to know what he was talking about and was glad to take the time to show me. So I'll go back and if you're in the neighborhood, I suggest you do the same. Take your time, there will be clearance racks, make sure you look through them, there's some good stuff there. And oh, yeah, the clearance shoes are in the basement.

Yelp
As a Virgo with an Aries fetish, I throw myself into a panic at the end of March. I have 5 Aries birthdays (within hours of each other) to pamper. Because, as you know, these are important people, just ask them. I've wondered about the Bunker for a while and was able to sneak over there for a bit, searching for something I didn't think I'd find. The mix of stuff in here is somewhere between an Archie McFee catalog, a hipster store and a kind of art museum. I was looking for goofy little things and cards. Thankfully, I found several wildly inappropriate greetings to send my Aries'. I also sent along a few novelties, a fantastic purse/bag and some shoes. The people there were fantastic, helping me with watches and letting me know that if I found one on the website, they'd order it and have it in store right away. Recently, I found the prescription eyeglasses available on the website as well. Frickin' Score! I wish I'd have had more time there, I got incredibly lucky and was able to get some cool stuff in a very short time. I'll be back when I've picked the perfect watch and glasses.

Yelp
Super cool KC logo these guys came up with! Nice job! The staff isn't the friendliest. Although to their credit, because of the location in Westport, they probably have to put of with endless BS from homeless, drunks, etc. All that considered, they could be a lot worse! HA! I figured out why I hate Charlie Hustle t-shirts... it's all those millenials with the skinny jeans, the big beards and the retro look that you see always wearing them. I hate that look. It screams "punch me in the face as hard as you can!" The Bunker has all kinds of cool and unique items you'd expect from a well established boutique retailer in KC. I bought a dozen gifts for friends and colleagues while I was there. It's my new go to store for stocking stuffers and fun gifts for bdays and such.
