Bunn Mike Review - North Beach - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Bunn Mike is a tiny place with a short menu to match. You’re here for a banh mi, and you can choose from six variations, ranging from one with grilled pork to a vegan option. They also serve chicory coffee, chips, and sodas. Seating is limited and the space is already tight to start with, but Washington Square Park is only two blocks away. One sandwich will fuel your afternoon, but you could also get away with sharing between two people." - Will Kamensky

The Vietnamese sandwiches here is legit! Walked by a few times and was skeptical at first but really glad I gave it a try! It's freaking awesome. Tried the five spice chicken and going to try the grilled pork next time.

Very good Vietnamese sandwiches. Had the grilled pork and was impressed with the authenticity. Definitely come back again.

Highly recommend the 5 spice chicken and the pork. The one in this picture is the traditional one, tastes like traditional 🤔 +5 star for food quality + service + price

Still getting it together. Waited 45 minutes for a sandwich from a walk up counter. I'll come back in a month and update my review if they can prepare more for the lunch rush.

The wait times are a bit long due to being under staffed but the food is truly worth it. the sandwiches are cheap about $7 each. The chicken sandwich is a must have. Staff is pretty friendly and hard working especially since there is only 1-2 at any given time of the day. Parking is very limited since it is shared in such a small lot with other vendors.

Their sandwiches have grown in size in these past few weeks! When I first tried Bunn Mike sandwiches, I felt they were a little skimpy on the meats. But they've recently raised the price from $6.50 to $6.95, so that may explain it. I'm more than welcome to pay the extra .45cents for what seems like almost twice the amount of meat now! Today I had their traditional, which is pretty much your standard combination bnah mind with the Cha lua pork cuts, pate and the mixed veggies. Great sandwich for the price, especially in this neighborhood. I also tried their chicken and BBQ pork in the past and liked them both as well! I'll definitely keep on coming back if the sandwiches stay fat like today's!

I went and bought 3 grilled pork sandwiches on Sunday Feb 14. Asked and paid for extra pate in each sandwich. There were no customers at the time and the person working there really had nothing to do. I even tipped him which was a huge mistake. I come home and the sandwiches were completely dry. Meat, veggies and bread tasted old and dry. No mayo or maggi. The employee also omitted any pate, so they were just sad dry sandwiches. I use to buy from bunn mike pre pandemic somewhat often. They were excellent back then. Its been months since I last went. Even with a pandemic, there has to be standards. Apparently all standards have been disregarded here. I wont be coming back.

Quick and delicious sandwiches from this stand in Potrero. Friendly team, very apologetic whenever the wait is long. I thought the sandwich was delicious! Pro: -- Price is reasonable -- Delicious sandwiches -- Friendly Staff Con: -- Outdoors; no weather protection -- No seating -- Parking can be difficult sometimes
