I had dinner here. I started with the pasta fagioli soup. It was rather bland and not very memorable. The bread was excellent. I ordered the lasagna and it was also kind of boring and the pasta tasted a bit dry. They give you a free shot of limoncello after your meal, which I declined because I avoid alcohol. Service was extremely slow and not the friendliest. The prices seemed high for the quality of the food. It was ok, nothing was horrible, but I probably will try other restaurants before coming back here. It is beautiful inside and out and the menu has a good variety.

My girlfriend and I visited from NYC. This place has amazing Margarita pizza. The dough was tasty and the pizza held its shape, it didn’t flop. We also got a cappuccino and that was very delicious. Puts coffee at other places to shame hahaha. Our cappuccino was paired with an orange panna cotta and the pairing was literally so goated.

Yesterday Friday we stopped as we usually do when we are traveling home to Rhode Island from one of the casinos. It was around lunch time. We so enjoyed the calamari so crunchy and veggies were an added delight. My husband’s meal was orochiette with sweet sausage and broccoli rabe. Is remark was the best he has tasted in along time. He spent is youth on federal hill in providence and he compared it to the famous restaurant s there. I wanted a chicken franchise dish that I had ordered once before as a special. Because it was a slow time they made it for me and added spinach. The sauce was wonderful lemon and buttery taste. The waiter so excellent in answering all my questions. Hope to get back again soon and will recommend this place to all. Also as we were leaving the owner, I think took a special time to talk with. Blessings, Diana and Raymond DiCenso.

We came since we were staying at the Wolf Lodge. Best thing we did is reserving dinner at this place. Service was great, food was delicious, all our plates were to die for. Owners were Albanians. Thank you!

This was an amazing experience and would 10/10 recommend anyone to check this place out. The owner was also the person serving us and she is wonderful. She was genuine and cared about every part of the meal from the bread to the app and the limoncello at the end. We had the fresh tomato and feta salad which had a fantastic flavor and super simple. It shows that great ingredients make the dish. We also had a orecchiette pasta and scallops for dinner. Everything had great combo of light but impactful. The cappuccino at the end was the best we have had in the CT and to top it off we had a cold homemade limoncello shot. We ended up buying the app for the young couple next to us. Try this place out if you are near or far! Great Italian food!

Delish! We ordered the Chicken Parm with Penne to share and it was amazing! The Pomodoro Sauce was so good! And the pasta cooked Al Dente! Ordered a Tiramisu to-go! Staff was super sweet!

A fantastic dining experience. We ordered the short ribs and the gnocchi and both were fantastic. I got the grilled chicken with the gnocchi and it was cooked well. Bread that came out before dinner was hot and spongy and extremely olive oil heavy. Perhaps I would recommend a little finishing salt for the bread. Or... Restaurants in general should just have little servings of a finishing salt. Something flakey that melts in your mouth. The short ribs were good and the prices were very reasonable. The Gnocchi was pillowy and pleasant to eat. The sauce had a bright tomato taste without being too acidic. We were staying in a nearby hotel so we ordered an antipasto for the room for after the concert we were attending and wow! They made such a beautiful meat and cheese board for us in a small pizza box with artichokes, olives, hot peppers, pickles, sharp cheddar, fresh tomato and mozerella slices.. all served with a beautiful thick balsamic vinegar. The meal was finished with a complimentary shot of lemonchello... Our waiter was fantastic. The atmosphere was inviting and pleasant. The general vibe of the place is quiet and while the food we got was of the upscale variety... The price for our whole meal very reasonable (and we had a huge antipasto for later on and so much food left over it was like another meal). If you're in the area I definitely recommend checking them out. I bet their desserts are stunning but to be honest we had a lot to get done and after all that good food I was already ready for a nap.

OMG. We have enjoyed coming to Buon Appetito numerous times and I thought that I previously reviewed this magnificent restaurant. The high Yelp and Trip Advisor reviews speak for themselves. Tonight we decided on pizza and salad. We ordered the Caesar and Wedge. Both were ample and delicious. The pizza was 1/2 Margarita with hot pepper and sausage and 1/2 meatball and ricotta. Absolutely delicious. It had a thin tasty crust with a fresh tomato sauce base. The added ingredients were a welcoming taste to add to the overall flavor. Buon Appetito has a beautiful environment, excellent friendly staff and delicious meals (we've had a variety of them). The individual responsible for this excellence is Mirela, the owner. She is present and "hands on" while the restaurant is open. Her smile will most likely greet you at the door. Stop by this gem. You won't be surprised why this restaurant is one of the top in the area. A special thanks to our friendly server, Mihaela.

This is always one of our favorite go-to's when we are in the area. The atmosphere is always great, wait staff is top notch and the food is delicious! This trip we were up here for a few nights to celebrate my birthday. Started with wine, and yummy calamari! So good! I was craving Alfredo and noticed they didn't have it on the menu, so I asked the waiter and he said they could make anything I wanted! I was happy to order my chicken & broccoli Alfredo over homemade pasta!! Mouthwatering delish!

First impression was parking with a new Dodge Ram truck ( for the size ) was impossible at 730, could barely turn around and was very dangerous with other customers pulling in not only to realize there were zero spots - We waited 25 minutes for a 730 reservation, locked it earlier in the week - we were seated i. a small table with an AC VENT blowing up from the floor in 45 degree weather outside - super loud, actually laughed as we yelled across the table to talk to each other. The dirty chips were ok small portion. Yet dinner came out and the meat lasagna & bolognese were pretty good,. Nice portions which started us thinking ..... ok it may be worth it all. Staff were nice and doing their best with a packed entry way, 2 bathrooms one for male, one for female lady next to us went up 4 times to use it and it was occupied .... We would give it a 6 outta 10.

Everything from the fresh made pizza to the wonderfully fresh marinara to the meatballs that tasted homemade was excellent. The fried zucchini is a must try as well. The service was excellent and really made us want to return...we felt like we were in a little trattoria on a back street in Rome. We ate at the bar and the staff had fantastic recommendations in front of the stone pizza oven that added to the charm of the room. Looking around the room gave you a warm feeling everyone was enjoying the evening. We loved it...Thank you & excellent job!

I have been there a bunch of times since my last review. It appears that they have decreased the portion sizes. Original they gave a generous amount of food, and I would understand if they decreased it slightly. However they decreased it so much the last time I left hungry - even after eating all the pasta and complimentary bread. While the food is still very good and the service is too, I can not see a reason to go if you leave hungry. My original review I believe was 5 stars. This is a big shift down. (I ordered eggplant Parmesan) The food quality is still very good along with the service. The outdoor seating is very good too - this is why they still have 3 stars.

Excellent food quality, service and value. Very fresh and that is coming from my 88 yo Italian father. Gnocchi were delightful as were mushroom risotto and spaghetti con vongole. Nice tiramisu to end the meal. Will return when we visit the area next

One of our favorite restaurants. Never a bad meal here. This time we had Gnocci, Orecchiette, Lasagna & Linguini with clams. All were delicious, plentiful and served hot. Staff is well polished, polite, accommodating and professional. Service is top notch. Decor is warm and inviting. Kitchen is fabulous. The food is as good as it looks.

Excellent service and attention from the host. Food was great too. This is a great place to stop if you are headed to a show at the casinos, but want to eat along the way. The patio out back is really nice for al fresco dining

We arrived at an early time and were seated in the wine cellar, which was lovely and quiet. The hangar steak was cooked exactly to my request, though I thought the French onion risotto was lacking in flavor. The tagliatelle bolognese was excellent, really meaty. I loved the tirimisu.

I love this little restaurant! The food is always spot on as is the drinks! The atmosphere is always lively and welcoming. The service is a little on the slow side at times but this place is worth it.

Good option for Italian if you're on your way to the casinos! Not the best Italian food I have ever had, but good enough to come back if I was in the area. Calamari was great - lightly fried and flavorful. I also love their house made limoncello.... definitely a must-have if you stop by! Service was excellent... our waiter was super attentive and had great personality.

This being my first time there. I have to say that EVERYTHING went well about this place. The food was amazing I had the pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe. My other half had chicken Alfredo. Which was great. We shared a salad and had a delicious dessert of cheese cake. We the ambiance in the place was nice. The staff were very attentive. Definitely a spot for us to add to our favorites.

Four of us recently dined here. My companion and I had not eaten here in several years (no reason why). The place has very nice ambience. Tables are spaced appropriately to encourage normal levels of conversation. The service brilliant except the entrees arrived well before the antipasto was done. That should not occur. We all skipped salads but shared the Antipasto Plate ($21). This serving was large and full of options. Yummy We decided to use two checks so I cannot comment on the cost for two companions. For entrees two Tuna Specials ($38 per) were ordered, my companion had one. It was ordered as rare and accompanied by a risotto. The tuna portion was of nicely sized, done perfectly as was the risotto both reported as very tasty. The remaining two entries were Veal Parmigiana with spaghetti ($29.95) and Swordfish with Risotto asparagus ($28.95). The Veal was reported as tender and tasty. It was a large portion. The spaghetti potion was too large and a bit watery to the taste. I had the Swordfish. It was very tasty, but the portion on the small side. It also needed another minute or two in the skillet. The risotto was well portioned but the asparagus pieces were undercooked. I suspect to add "crunch". For that purpose it did it's job, but not to the customers benefit. Dessert was one Tiramisu ($12) and one Crème Brûlée ($11). Both reported as nicely done. So there you have it. With 2 glasses of French Sauvignon Blanc ($25) plus tax and tip we were out the door $135 and change. We will be back and more recently than previous. Magoo

I came here after a winery staff member recommended it for dinner. Despite being busy for a Thursday evening, my Fiancé and I were seated right away. We decided to share a Caesar salad for an appetizer, which we both liked. I ordered the Eggplant Parm with penne pasta for my meal and I loved it. I can't remember what my Fiancé ordered - it was a special - but he really liked his food and ended up cleaning the plate. Next time we are in the area, we would love to return and save some room for dessert!

The food here is exceptional, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because we called for a reservation for four, and they made it, but when we arrived we had to wait a really long time to be seated. Other than that, it was really good

Came here to take mom to casino, stopped in for dinner. Recommended by our hotel concierge. First off have to say that the service was simply amazing. The food, now words. Freshly baked bread 10/10. Calamari 10/20 perfectly cooked. Chicken piccata with linguine was perfect y cooked and flavorful. The dessert was Tiramisu so fresh and mouth watering 10/10. Everything on the menu is homemade and fresh. The place is cozy and nicely decorated.

Second time eating here and the food is amazing as ever. We started with wine and the selection is wonderful. Great choices and deals to be found. Wife had the Misto salad and we shared A cheese board with warm Italian bread. We both went for the lasagna dinner and were not disappointed. Huge portions that melted in your mouth. This would be 5 stars all over except for our reception. When we called to verify availability we were told either patio or main floor. When we got there 10 minutes later I mentioned patio and hostess said she set us up on the main floor and that's where we will be sitting, no room for discussion in her tone or demeanor. It was very noisy, we couldn't have any conversation of any sort (I have hearing aids and indoor noisy areas are not conducive to being social). However in the long run, the food made up for the inability to communicate at our table. The important stuff... the food! We had: the house bread with Evoo, seafood scampi, chicken Parmesan, Mussels Fra Diavlo, and finished off with crème brûlée. Everything was amazing! The scampi was delicious and not overly greasy, the chicken Parmesan was moist and perfectly cooked, I counted at least 30 mussels in the Mussels Fra Diavlo. The pasta was delicious and the red sauce was perfect... including the jalapeños on with the mussels. We ended by sharing an absolutely perfect crème brûlée. It was deeper than many that I have had and perfect all around... torches just enough for the perfect crunch and toasted sugar flavor without being burnt. Our hotel (Bellissimo Grande) was .03 miles from this restaurant so it was a no-brainer when we were shut out of our Mystic choices. Forget Mystic choices next time, I would drive from Mystic to eat here. Definitely make reservations. Oh, and they were having a special event there and the buffet looked delectable. Would definitely recommend for events as well.

On a whim my boyfriend and I decided to try Boun Appetito, and we were delighted! The menu was varied and every meal sounded delicious. The atmosphere was lovely and intimate. The food was delicious and the service was spectacular. A special shout out to Suella, our waitress, who was both charming and attentive. We are eager to come back and tell our family and friends about this hidden gem!

Positive. (1) immediate seating with reservation. (2) one meal (of six) the pasta w/meatballs was very good. Negatives; (1) The pizza orders and one pasta with clams dish was just mediocre. (2) A Party of 10 women birthday party noise was extreme. Granted they spent more than our party of six but neither the waiter, or management, would speak to them them to tone it down or move our group to the other room. Other tables also commented on the noise level. (3) Our waiter made two mistakes on our drink and meal orders although 4 in our party confirmed the orders. Proper practice (maybe training) would be to say there was a misunderstanding (customer is always right) and get the correct order. Our waiter disputed his error. Bottom line, I see no reason to return.

We traveled an hour because we heard that this restaurant was very good only to be disappointed. We arrived a little after 4:30. Approached the hostess to let her know that there is 2 of us. Hostess asked if we had a reservation. I stated, no. She then said at this time it's only by reservation and the next seating is at 7:30. I said no that's too late. Hostess apologized and then I noticed that there was a bar with seats with only one couple sitting there. I went to ask about the bar and the Hostess walked away. So we left and since there is not much for restaurants around the area. We drove to Mystic and ended up eating at Mangos wood fired pizza. Even though the pizza was great. It wasn't what we wanted. The Hostess at Buon Apetito could have offered the bar for us unless that was by reservation only too. Their website says nothing about reservations at a specified time except if you have large parties. This is a one attempt and done. We will not return.

Service was good after the server was green lighted in some sort of control issue with the manager or owner who was tending the bar. Atmosphere was nice, soft lighting, attractive surroundings. Food was a complete disappointment. Stay away from the entree item called "chef's choice of starch" It is risotto which is very nice usually but the idea of loading it to the hilt with stalks (not the part you eat from the top) from asparagus made it inedible. Swordfish had a tomato topping on it that was so terribly salty it had to be removed. My wife had Salmon which she liked but received it atop the same risotto just loaded with undercooked stalks. She actually had one small piece of the edible part of asparagus from the top. Lastly dessert was supposed to save the day, because when is chocolate not great? It tasted like burned wet chocolate that clearly had been over cooked or even burned at some part of the process. First time I didn't finish a dessert. The high marks this establishment gets is probably because there is not much around here to compare it too. Vetranos and Guytano's in Westerly absolutely rule supreme over the food they serve here. This restaurant wouldn't remain open in New Haven or Hartford after a couple months. I don't regard myself as a picky eater, and perhaps it was our fault not ordering strictly Italian food but we will never know because there is no chance we will ever go back there. The Dew Drop Inn is missed. I was going to pull a rabbit out of my hat when my wife asked how the coffee was and considered two stars but when I hit the bottom of the cup it was full of grounds. To the management.... I see the canned replies to the other negative reviews. If you can't do more that copy and paste the same thing to all reviewers don't bother.

Picked up pizza and Caesar salad. Wild mushroom pizza was good but salad was small and $35 plus tip seemed like a lot for a 14" pie and salad.

Authentic Italian restaurant. Christmas carols sung in Italian. Lots of menu choices. A hidden gem just down the street from Foxwoods. Excellent food. Good service. Loud dining room.

The food and atmosphere are top notch. It was so nice to have a server that was familiar with my gluten allergy. She recommended the buratta and tomato salad and mushroom risotto and it was phenomenal. My husband had fish and chips and he loved it. We shared the crème brûlée for desert. Yum! It was our first time there and we will definitely go back.

This place is good, just not great in comparison to other Italian restaurants locally. The food comes out hot and fresh but from the dishes I've tried I was somewhat disappointed. I've tried the lasagna in the past and it was lacking. Very heavy on the noodles and scarce on the other ingredients. The shrimp scampi was good, although the texture of the sauce was oddly thick and it was lacking the fresh lemon garlic flavor of a traditional scampi. The complimentary bread came out warm and was delicious. My husband loved his chicken Parmesan and creme brûlée. I loved the fallen chocolate cake dessert. Overall this place is pretty good, I just don't think it's worth the hype that it gets locally.

Another amazing experience at Buon Appetito! We had the flounder and ribeye specials that did not disappoint. Marila and her staff are top notch for the service they provide and make every single guest feel welcome to their beautiful restaurant. In the area to see a show at Foxwoods, staying at a hotel just about walking distance to the restaurant. Decided to eat here rather than the tourist traps at the casinos- it was wonderful! Food was fresh and delicious- we had the sausage fra diabolical pizza - crispy and spicy and also the strip steak cooked perfectly medium rare. The service was attentive- including the chef(?) that came around checking on everyone. Homemade limoncello was the perfect ending. Only suggestion is to avoid the main dining room because it's very loud.

My husband and I stopped on our way home from Foxwoods for some dinner. We were able to be seated at the bar right away. At first impression the bartender seemed to be a little rude to anyone who wasn't a regular, but he eventually did warm up a bit. We ordered a drink each and a pizza. Drinks were great, pizza was really good. At one point a server walked behind me and spilled an entire espresso martini down my back. She was very apologetic, as was other servers who were around, and they gave us a free dessert, which was really nice. If Im in the area I would come back and check out a few more dishes. I probably wouldn't sit at the bar because I felt that the servers were giving better service than the bartender that was on that night.

Great food, excellent service and staff. Nice ambiance but the place is well known and liked so it does get busy during prime hours. The servers really go out of their way to make sure you're satisfied. The home made lemon cello is excellent! Been there twice so far and will definitely go again soon!

A NEWYORKER'S FAVE!!! THE GRILLED FOCACCIA CHEESY BREAD IS ONE OF THE BEST THIGS I'VE EVER EATEN!!! EVER EVER? YUP EVER! I can't emphasize enough on how incredibly delicious it is. A MUST TRY. Hands down the best Italian restaurant in all of Connecticut. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR DELICIOUS FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE FOR A FAIR PRICE, YOU WON'T REGRET COMING HERE. We walked in a few minutes after it opened and basically had the place to ourselves. Our server Mahela was great. She was sweet and attentive. She made sure we had everything we needed, and answered any questions we had about the food. We ordered the Grilled Focaccia, Ceaser Salad, Shrimp Scampy Pizza, Pappardelle ragu, Tramisu, and Creme Brule. The ceaser was delicious. The bread was a REVELATION!!! Warm,melty, cheesy, gooey, Salty goodness. The shrimp scampy pizza was deeelicious. Crispy thin crust, warm melty cheese, perfectly cooked shrimp with a nice garlicky flavor. I do wish it had a more shrimp on it, but it was delicious as is. The Pappardelle was overcooked and the ragu needed more salt. My husband liked it but it wasn't particularly for me. Everything else was so good, that it didn't even matter. Now onto desserts. The Focaccia and the tiramisu were the reasons I chose to come here and OMG the Tiramisu is AMAZING. My husband hates tiramisu and ate the whole thing lol. But let me tell you about is how good their Creme Brule is. IT'S SO GOOD!!! YOU MUST GET BOTH THESE DESSERTS!!! YOU SIMPLY MUST! This is a restaurant worth driving from NYC. We will be driving from NYC to come again. It's worth the drive. Thank you for everything guys! You have a gem here and we look forward to coming back. We're actually going back today before we drive back to NYC!

My husband and I started out craving take-out nachos on a Thursday night. We switched gears and decided to visit Buon Appetito, which has been on our list of restaurants-to-try. One word, 'authentic'. It was an Italian feast complete with complimentary lemoncello. Our meal was exceptional, starting with crispy Italian bread and parmesan olive oil (my Italian grandfather taught me this tip, remove the dough, and savor the crust). Next, a wedge salad, lemony chicken picatta, and gorganzola polenta. Last, but the finale to the feast, homemade banana bread pudding with ice cream accompanied by decaf cappuccinos. Perfection all around for this trifecta win - food, service, and ambiance.

We have driven by Buon Appetito countless times; however, have never stopped in until this weekend. The restaurant is decorated with an expected Italian flair. The staff was attentive and outstanding with their recommendations. We started off with their sangria, which was definitely the least impressive item that we had. Next time I would definitely grab a bottle of wine instead. We shared calamari for our table of four, with more than enough to go around. It was nicely breaded and seasoned. The fried squash strings were an added treat to this dish as well. For my main course I went with the Chicken Piccata by recommendation. I was not led astray with this suggestion as the flavor was outstanding! It tasted equally as good the following day! I had the chance to sample the mushroom risotto, and it seemed equally as delicious. This was a good ending to a fun day with some awesome friends. I am very glad that we chose this restaurant and will certainly be back!

Love the menu. Great specialty offerings. The rooms can get noisy- but love the warmth of the decor. If possible ask to sit downstairs in the wine cellar- for something different. Couple favorites- tagliatelle bolognese- chicken piccata. Organic tomato salad-highly recommend-the cheese is just delicious. For low key- get the pizza. Ask for a wine recommendation. Staff is friendly but professional. The patio is just beautiful.

What a great place. Great staff, hello from the owner. Food was great, we had the white and clam and the Margarita. As a New Yorker, these were great!! A must for anyone!!!

My husband and I ate at Buon Appetito Ristoranti for the first time today. Such a beautiful atmosphere. Airy with natural lighting. Wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. My pizza was to die for and best I have ever eaten ! My coffee was excellent, nice and strong. At the completion of our meal, our server poured two shot glasses of homemade Limon Chello, OMG, out of this world ! I would love to go again and again and try everything on their menu !!! What are the most stars ?

Clean place, food good quality. We weren't greeted by anyone, the bartender over his shoulder muttered something and then left us hanging. Service and ambiance kind of forced. This is mock Italian food folks. Is this what Olive Garden is like ?

The drinks are just ok in my opinion but their food is delicious! Super convenient restaurant being right down the street from the casino. Highly recommend the pappardelle bolognese, it was fantastic!
