I was pretty skeptical about this place when my husband told me about them making your pasta in front of you, then I sarcastically added, "I bet they also have a conveyer-belt system where you drag your lunch tray across right?" And his response was, yes, they do have trays, but I don't remember a conveyer-belt. I was then thinking...oh great...we're in for a treat....
We get to the restaurant and it looks like a nice building, and there are items for sale that you see through their window displays. Items range from Italian goods such as sauces, cheeses, pastas galore, dinnerware, frozen goods, and much more. And right next door there is a wine shop that we hear has a great wine selection.
The place sells sandwiches, salads, pizzas and pasta that they make in front of you. We chose to go with the pasta bar. The chef asks you what ingredients you'd like in your meal and the selection is seen right in front of you. I chose to put garlic, white and green onions, dry ingredients included salt and pepper, and you get to choose three main ingredients which I chose chicken, broccoli and fresh tomatoes. Then he asks you which sauces you'd like and I chose the white sauce. And then finally he asks which kind of pasta you'd like and I picked the farfalle (bow tie). It actually turned out pretty good. It was just enough and for 8.99, not a bad deal! My husband's concoction was really tasty as well. The red sauce with the crushed red peppers gave his dish a good little kick and it was pretty good.
We'd probably go back and try their lasagna. It looked really good. And if they are selling their frozen lasagna trays for 26.00, it sounds like it might be one of their specialties. So, I definitely recommend this place. It's kid friendly and great atmosphere. It's set up consists of deli and market place where the staff members are quite friendly. We would also go back to buy their red sauce and make up our own concoctions at home. Try it out!
