"Buoy Beer, which moved its taproom to the spacious Astoria Food Hub warehouse after its own facilities collapsed, is one of Astoria’s iconic breweries and a point of pride for the town’s beer lovers. In its new family-friendly digs, visitors can knock back a pint or two in a bright, modern space with counter service. Thoughtfully sourced menu items include rockfish and chips, an albacore tuna salad sandwich, or oysters from nearby waters, plus burgers, soft pretzels, and salads. An array of rotating ales and lagers on draft and by the bottle will please all palates, and the kids menu will entertain the small ones." - Jennifer Burns Bright, Alex Frane

"The roof of Buoy Beer Company in Astoria partially collapsed, leading to a temporary closure. No injuries were reported, and the company’s sister brands will continue operations. Efforts are being made to keep staff employed, and inspections are ongoing to determine the cause of the collapse." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

"Like so many brewpubs , Buoy in Astoria capitalizes its dude-friendly industrial vibe. Though it sits right on a pier on the river, close to the heart of downtown, the exterior has all the charm of a giant corrugated metal warehouse. Inside it’s all thick wood, exposed beams, and metal ductwork. The three things that set this place apart, however, will make you a die-hard fan: the glass window in the floor, where you can watch the massive sea lions flop around on wood platforms under the pier; the incredible river views; and the truly fantastic beer. Buoy’s taps seem to always offer something new, with a selection that ranges from light Czech-style pilsners to Belgian strong ales and sours. In between, you’ll find a core of greatest hits always on tap, including the very balanced IPA—a fan favorite all over the Northwest." - Danielle Centoni

A great place to enjoy a beverage (non alcoholic or alcoholic). I love the combo taproom with Pilot House Distilling and Buoy Beer, and the expansive patio that allows dogs! This location is also one of the warmest spots on a summer day (reduce wind), which is rare on the North coast. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating! There is a few choices for different food options making it a great pick for a group.

Awesome beer flight and super friendly staff, who were planning to drive to the port to return a bag to the cruise ship that a fellow passenger left behind. Thankfully he realized he left it and came back, but their willingness to help was awesome.

First time coming here finally for Lager Fest 2025!! It was a blast! Public House Distilling shares yhr building and they have lots of delicious cocktails, drinks and mixers they make in house!

I liked this so much more when Pilot House and Buoy had their own locations. The Pilot House's previous location had more going on than this spot ever will. This is a great location, but food carts is a step back compared to the offerings and service provided at Buoy's previous location, which is currently another brewery! Too often in life, the trade off's aren't worth the compromise, and this new location is a beacon of this. The staff do their best to make drinks, socialize, and give directions to the bathrooms. I like and support both companies, but I wish it did not look and feel like this.

Fantastic beers and service! Bartenders super friendly, gave us suggestions on where to go, as we were from out of town! Lots of fun. They have 3-4 food trucks but they were closed, as it was Easter Sunday. Would love to go again! 100% recommended!

I'm a huge fan of Buoy's beer selections. I appreciate that I could get the beer on tap, try a few things, and then buy a six pack to take home. The new taproom space is great for a downtown stop, I liked the setup with an indoor space for the bar and a big patio to hang out on. Great place to stop by after the farmers' market, or just to kick it for an evening and play some cornhole. There were a lot of puppers hanging out. It's accessible and family friendly. The food truck situation is fine, it's a neat business model to partner with food trucks. 9/10.

We wish we’d stopped in here sooner. Not the typical menu, lots of interesting options. Best fish and chips and chowder in the area. The industrial vibe is strong and enjoyable.

This was our second stop in Astoria. We did not order any food, just shared a flight. I really liked the location, clean and welcoming. The bartender was helpful and quick to pour our flight. I also really like their branding and labels. The beer was good although I would have liked some darker options.
