Buoys Bar

Whether your local or just in the area for one of the many highlighted events of the area. I highly recommend this spot. From live music, drinks, beautiful views. Its a fun atmosphere and is certainly a must visit.

Do not let them talk you into opening a tab that “if you forget about it they will close it at the end of the night”….they won’t. They will wait two months- charge it, then charge it again for a greater amount that does not make any sense. Both charges around 2AM while asleep. How are they making charges after business then when you wake up and notice they aren’t even open. Seems sketchy and fraudulent to me. Seems like bad oversight. General Manager should be ashamed. This cannot be a common occurrence. Icky!!!!

Absolutely stunning views! Great food, great service. It was pretty quiet when I stopped in, but I will definitely be back. Much nicer staff than at the Blind Tiger, that's for sure.

Awesome cheeseburger and cheese fries sitting on the porch with a wonderful breeze coming off the ocean. Hell yes I will have another. Great food and service with a great location and view.

The man at the door was extremely racist to me and my friends, calling us multiple racial slurs! I will be posting about this EVERYWHERE!!! This business is a dump! I cannot believe what this man said to me and my friends.

Nice spot to stop for a drink in Bay St Louis. On the water (and by the railroad tracks). There are multiple levels and places to sit outside. We were there off season for a bit and we had the place to ourselves. I could imagine that in season it could be pretty crowded. They have live music. When the train goes by you get a free shot of their frozen drink. And you have to try the White Russian! Jennifer was awesome and service was excellent!

For a divey bar right on the Gulf, it'll wet your whistle. But they no longer serve food, except for a Lucky Dog cart outside.

I was going to take a picture of the burger, but I ate it all. Hands down it was the best burger I've had in a while. My son had the new Jersey cheese balls and those were amazing as well. Highly recommend this place. The upstairs is a bar with great views of the gulf.

If you're going past 9 for a party bar scene cool place nice atmosphere. If you're being waited on by the blonde girl, especially outside. Don't expect to get served unless you're a friend of hers. Sat at the bar for an entire hour waiting on one beer. Went to the bathroom two times before getting another. Waving cash, card, sitting just staring, tried it all. Eventually resulted to buying 4 beers for myself at a time to make it make sense. Will never be back

Who cares about my review. Nothing was wrong with this place except for the rule at 9 o'clock. Sitting at the bar, watching the Lsu game. Here comes 9 o'clock, I have to vacate my seat. Apparently the place turns into a dance club at exactly 9 o'clock. Would of stayed longer and drank more but was kicked out my seat. Burger was pretty good, had to send it back the first time.

Giving 4 stars strictly for the location and music we get to hear, and a pretty good drink selection. However, the young lady bartender there has a serious attitude problem. She would probably make much more in tips if she didn't put off such an aggravated, don't care attitude. One last thing- ownership needs to pay attention to some of the maintenance that needs to be done (cleaning, painting, dusty/dingy in areas you shouldn't have that).

Buoys is one of three outdoor bars that feature great bands in a great location on the bay with the train bridge in the background. The food here is food truck style and on this occasion it was bad food. Come for the cheap beer and great music, eat elsewhere.

The bar has unique mixed drinks. However, I'm a simple gal and would prefer the alcohol without all the added sugar/bullspit. If you're like me, pass on the fancy stuff and go straight for the beers on tap. Brisket was amazing--tender and flavorful. Waffle fries were crispy on the outside just like they're supposed to be. Live music on Friday night was amazing, and so was the ocean view. Prices are not too bad especially for the ambiance. I would come back!

Buoys is so my kind of place. It's got everything I love. A nautical theme, an awesome and effective staff, great food, good music and a greatly great vibe.. I just love how the building is made to look like it's a boat. That's right up my alley for sure but the food...oh the food. We got the buffalo shrimp app and fought over it (not kidding) and the burger and shrimp/fish tacos with the intention to split those too. Look, don't judge me but I wasn't about to share my tacos with anyone once I tasted them. I like the guy but umm, you know. The service is promt, friendly and fast. Food is almost perfect and the atmosphere could not be better. Go :)

Lots of bars to pick from. But pick this one when you see the train coming - you get a free shot! But if you're picky, the shot is kinda gross. But hey, it's free. It's super casual here, BBQ food-truck style on the patio on the side. Big back yard atmosphere down toward the beach. They had live music when we were there and it was super fun to watch the drunk people dance. 4 stars for that.

Had a great time here. Just stipped in with some friends to get a quick drink and some fries, we planned om bar hopping down the street. Ended up having 4 rounds and staying for three hours. Terrel, our bartender, took great care of us. Will definitely be back!

Location, location, location. This beach themed restaurant and bar is located in the heart of downtown Bay St. Louis on the Bay. The main room is located on the ground level with plenty of tables and a full bar. Up the stairs is an open air bar with stunning views of the Bay. Try the Buoy which is a fruity coconut frozen drink concoction. Yum! The menu is mostly sandwiches and fried seafood. I had the jalapeño poppers for an appetizer and they were delicious. The restaurant does have live music on the outdoor stage. Fun, relaxing scenic place.

Great views...check! Nice people...check! Nice owner serving beers on the rooftop bar talking about all the work he has put into the expansion...bonus! Nautical themed fun waterfront restaurant bar with music just prime for DRANKIN. I didn't try the food but seemed like the menu is somewhat limited. But for drinks on a nice sunny day this is the spot. So many areas an nooks.

Seriously, the best pork I have ever tasted! Adding the fries,sauces, and green onions just made it even better! So delicious!!! The customer service was above and beyond as well! I will be back for more very soon!

If you want to dance with people you've never met before and make memories that you'll smile back on for the rest of your life, this is a good spot for you. Take all the train shots. There's also a little treehouse bar if you want to retreat from the action. Bulls on the Beach is a cool event that you should check out.

Really cool place to hang out. They have live music playing in the courtyard and beautiful views of the bay. I was there for cruisin the coast week so they had a limited menu. At the recommendation of others I had the burger which was very tasty and large enough to share. The Bouy frozen drink is a must try-it's similar to a pina colada but richer and more flavorful and definitely potent. When the train passes they give out shots! Overall I had a great experience and will definitely be back.

Very nasty! We ordered 3 drinks and all had bugs in them! My drink had a bug larvae inside it! The vibe is nice, but please check your drinks!!

Here on a bright sunny Sunday, great music great people, BUT only 1 bartender for entire business. 20 minute wait for a drink - I would love to come back but cannot bear the LACK of service. Roger, the owner came later on Sunday and immediately took care of the problem. He then introduced himself to us and explained that his camera/internet connection went down and it has not been repaired as of Sunday. He stated that he routinely monitors it and if the bartender is buried, he calls in additional help. Based on the owners response and up front attitude, we DEFINITELY will RETURN. Thank you Roger.

Location is GREAT!!! Ambience of the bar/restaurant is GREAT! However the bartender upstairs is HORRIBLE. She started not long ago (around her birthday) so we gave her the benefit of the doubt because she was new but she is losing this bar TONS of money. She does not come around to take orders, doesn't check on guests, etc. We watch many patrons come, but don't get acknowledged so they leave. Today, we went to pay our tab and she asked us what we had (we were there for HOURS!!) then once we told her, she didn't charge us for at least 1/2 our drinks! We love this place but she makes it less enjoyable. Hate to see this place lose money because of 1 bartender. Management needs to be more on top of this.

They had awesome service here both at the bar and the security. It's a fun place where the bartenders give free shots and walks on the bar to pour them into your mouth from the bar tops. They don't mind if you ask for water or soda water with a lime. The music is good and the place fun for dancing. The women's restroom is clean and stocked though a bit tight when a line forms. There are lots of seats inside around the bar and tables and seats inside and outside in the patio. Great spot to drop by after a wedding at the Longfellow Civic Center near by.

THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE RESTAURANT "SMOKIN JOE'S" WHICH SERVES FOOD AT THIS BAR. The food here is completely disgusting. I ordered a brisket sandwich with a side of fried okra. I waited 15 minutes. The brisket was dry & hard like a hockey puck, with no sauce. The slaw garnish was bland & there was hardly any of it on the sandwich. The okra was still frozen when it got to me & I tried to eat it. The two gentlemen in the kitchen were disgusting, not wearing gloves, had their behinds hanging out in the kitchen, wearing greasy smelly shirts with holes in them. I don't think Buoy's should want to be affiliated with this place. I went next door to Tripletail's where there was good food & music in the same venue, not nasty junk that I have to go in & outside to get.

New chef now for a couple of months. Rickey's Grill took over. I had a delicious blackened shrimp salad sandwich which I couldn't resist in adding bacon too. Their seasoned fries are perfectly crisp,hot, and yummy as well. Jennifer my bartender was so sweet, friendly, and attentive. I got a surprise shot to add to my drink just because the train went by while I was here. Very cool, friendly, and local place. New menu!!!! Check it out peeps.

Not a fan! You have to order food next door and then be seated. The service was horrible. Not one time did anyone come and check on us and we were the only ones eating lunch. It is a bar, food was just ok. Would not recommend during the day. I'm sure the night scene might be better.

This seems to be the new hot spot in Bay St. Louis and it has the largest space of the bar/restaurants in town along with a great view of the water. They are big fans of the DJ here which doesn't usually do much for me. The best bar crowd was here on my last visit to Bay St. Louis after we did a tour of Blind Tiger, Gabbies and Buoys. I didn't get a chance to eat here but the food options looked good and as a bar it was the clear winner for the night. It looks like they are building a condo or some other type of building uncomfortably close to this place so I don't know how that will impact their late night music and allowable noise levels going forward. Overall I liked this joint and it would probably be one of my top choices in the area for a nice place to grab a drink.

Completely upgrading my review. Great view. Really good burgers. Tasty catfish. Would prefer a basket with a few hush puppies and less seasoned fries. All in all, a great place for a quiet casual meal overlooking the bay enjoying the band from the crowded place next door. Very quiet and relaxed.

Stopped in here once and had a great time when my dad's friend's band, The Castaways played outside. They had a few good beers on tap and it's nice and open inside. I like how the bar looks like the back of a fishing boat. Normally I would have given a bar like this a 4 star rating because it takes a truly exceptional place to earn a full 5 stars from me, but my one experience with this place earned that star because the owner/staff know how to treat customers. A member of our party had a bout with heat exhaustion and fell ill and the owners did everything they could to make her comfortable and saw that she was well. Normally, I guess most places would be concerned with getting an ill person out of the establishment as soon as possible, but not this place. They sat her down and made her comfortable and helped out until she was well enough to walk out on her own and that's good service right there. I like the outdoor area and the little stage they had set up was nice. The bartenders were helpful and didn't gripe or anything when I asked for a sample of a beer I'd never had. They're quick to serve you, too. An over-all nice place for a drink and I'll be stopping here from time to time for sure.

The atmosphere is awesome! The staff is very helpful & nice. My family had a birthday party there. Games outside for everyone to play. They now serve food for lunch! Upstairs bar is pretty unique with a great view over the water. And when a train comes you get train shots! I loved it

Apparently, this is a name your price kind of joint - not the customer, but the manager. $20 for a hurricane; called attention to it was told there wasn't a button for margaritas (huh?). Then, was charged $15; refused to pay that; finally $10. Watch your bill, watch your bill.

We visit the Bay several times a year and always visit Bouys for the food and view. This time we were surprised when we walked in at noon and the place was empty. We ordered a beer and said we wanted to order food. The bartender said that the owner had leased the kitchen out and that we had to order and pay for our food separately from our bar tab. We went outside and placed our order for chicken nachos which were a little over $10.00. They were just OK. If you want drinks I guess Bouys is adequate but forget the food.

Good bar next to the harbor and the railroad tracks. Nothing fancy. Nice bartender and very good happy hour deals. Easy living sitting outside.

Just horrible. I expect a wonderful evening out with my boyfriend. Unfortunately it ended abruptly with the bouncer shoving him to the point where we had to leave. Would never recommend.

Friendly people, beautiful views but food was VERY disappointing. I got food from the smokin Joe's bbq which I assume is part of the rest of the business. 2 tacos and two small sides for $18! The pork was old and might of been off (hope I don't get sick). The brisket was dry. The sides were nothing special. Luckily they have good drinks and a nice view. Big hit on the cooking.

I'm a local, in a w/chair. I've never been to Buoy's because I thought it was mostly a bar; then I heard that "Chef" Rickey was there & when my brothers came in for golf today, that's where we met. First, let me say, the service is wonderful & fast. I knew my brothers would be late & my husband had to smoke so I asked our waitress If she could bring me a cup of gumbo & less than 2 minutes later a cup of delicious thick (not too thick) seafood (no okra, thank you Lord) gumbo that left me with a smile on my face. I swear I tasted a hint a crab boil. Man it was good. All four of us had the same thing, a shrimp poboy. It's the best in the Bay, I'm telling you for true. They don't use french bread , it's a wonderful fresh bread that's so easy to bite & fresh, not frozen shrimp. Why am I only giving 4 stars? No butter ..... that's the only fault. I will be back for sure.

Food was decent, but customer service was the worst. We walked in and were ignored with two people behind the bar and someone else coming and going outside. Apparently you can sit where you want and order food outside, but nowhere was that written nor does anyone tell you that. Another couple walked in and sat down and was ignored. I explained to them what they had to do. The food is ok, so I might be back for that reason, but I have reservations.

Super delicious food. The burger is HUGE! and the fries have a delicious Cajun seasoning. I have always gotten good food every time I have eaten here!

Great shrimp. The shrimp tacos are the best ever. The staff is great. Outdoor seating with a view of the marina and the beach. Kids can play volleyball right on the beach.

The best place in Bay St. Louis . We love this bar!! Great people, cold beer, awesome White Russia's . On the weekends the kids can hang with you outside eat some terrific food.

What a creative bar design! The bar is shaped like a boat crashed into a building. They are currently building an extension. I overheard something about a flying scot. The place isn't cramped at all, and it's located right on the water so you get a pretty view. The prices are much better than most of the nearly bars with similar waterfront properties. The bartenders were friendly, too. It's a nice place.

Love this place in the bay. Be sure to get the Philly on the top deck with Lisa the best bartender ever!!!!

Here today (Saturday at 1300) with my mom, aunt, uncle, sister and her husband and three girls, and my infant. I realize this is a bar, but they shouldn't have a menu if they don't intend to feed people. My mom asked for sweet teas for everyone, fried pickles, and onion rings as soon as they chose a table. Tea took about ten minutes coming out, and I guess when we asked then is when the appetizer order actually was put in because we waited over half an hour for it. Nothing was wrong with the burgers (they were actually pretty good), but the kids' burger was the exact same plate as the adult version but half the cost (6 vs 12). My Cesar salad was fine but not 9 dollars worth. I don't remember what my aunt ordered but she was dismayed at the sparse amount of shrimp included. Oh... we had to wait over half an hour to collect our meals. We were there over an hour, most of which was just waiting. No service to speak of besides Jace, who really seemed to try but couldn't redeem the experience. This place will forever be a no-go for my family.

The first thing you notice when you walk into Buoy's Bar is the bar. It's designed to look like the back of a sport fishing yacht! The rest of the bar keeps the fishing / coastal theme, and I have to say, it looks awesome! There are a good number of local beers on tap. They've kept the menu fairly small, but what they do offer is outstanding. The Redfish Tacos were aweseome! It was too hot to sit outside on the deck overlooking the harbor when we visited, hope to come back later in the evening or on a cooler day, as the views were incredible.

Loving the new menu!!!!! Best Burger on the coast with some a amazing wings!!!! They always have different live bands, and awesome DJ's for the night life!!!!! Best of all worlds, they are always doing different major events for everyone (IE: Buoys Fest, Bulls on the beach, movie on the water, and many others....)

Great view, relaxing with an awesome refreshing mojito. Check out the rooftop bar for a fun experience.

Didn't actually eat here and that's a shame because I was really looking forward to it but I did have an experience here so feel it's important to write about it. The atmosphere is sort of what I thought it would be but is kind of lacking. We wanted to come in, have some seafood and maybe a few drinks, enjoy the waterfront and perhaps enjoy a band. First of all the menu that is listed online was not at all what they had. The menu was written on a chalkboard and had absolutely no seafood on it. Very different from what's advertised online and wasn't very appealing to us so we left. Before that though, the service was non existent. We walked in, there were some people drinking on the sand where the band was, fine but there was no one to greet anyone. We walked inside to see about ordering food, the menu is nowhere to be found inside which we didn't know so we stood there inside for a few minutes wondering if we just sat, if there was food, etc and there was no staff to be found. The bartender saw us standing around and said nothing so after finding the sad menu outside we left and went across the street. Unfortunate because it looks like a neat place I would have enjoyed if they had their stuff together

Great atmosphere, horrible service & food. Tried it twice - never got appetizers the first time and had to actually go get our food downstairs in the kitchen both times. And it was inedible both times. Such a waste of a view!
