Google
First restaurant we ate at in Myrtle Beach as it was walking distance from the hotel. The menu had a nice selection of seafood, burgers, and other entrees. The service was very good. The grilled fish and shrimp had good seasoning, hush puppies were decent, and the salad was fresh although I needed a knife as the lettuce was too big. A group of four were happy with our food. The inside is loud and outside does not have a view.

Google
Great meal with the family, walked in just in time for Happy Hour! We had Crab legs 10/10 cooked, and flavored perfectly! Nice size order. Fried shrimp, the In-Laws Loved it! I had the steamed oysters, they were rather small, actually the smallest ones I've ever had, but it happens. The side salad was delicious and fresh, so that made up for it! Great service all around, and a place I would visit again!! Two thumbs up!!

Google
Best seafood we’ve found in North Myrtle Beach. This is a beach atmosphere seafood pub with sushi. It’s active, noisy, and fun. The sushi was magnificent. We ate three rolls! The sushi chefs were from the Micronesian Islands and had all the necessary skills and great personality. The shrimp and crab was not overcooked, which we find all to often. They were easy to peel/crack and much more flavorful than usual. So glad to have American oysters again. They are without parallel. I highly recommend this spot.

Google
Cute little place with a ton of people all packed in. We sat at the bar at 7:15pm and it took an hour to get our order, but we didn't care because we were drinking some unusual craft beers both draft and can. The steamed shrimp tossed in butter sauce we the best we've ever had and I vow to always cook ours the same way. They close at 9 but they didn't try to rush us out which was nice. We'll definitely be back!

Google
Great food and drink! Yeah, it may not look like much from the outside, but the food is really good, the staff is very friendly. This feels like where locals hang out, not tourists. One of my favorite places during our NMB vacation. Make sure you see the sushi menu! Such a nice change when so many serve fried fish only.

Google
Food was absolutely delicious! Served quickly and piping hot. Service was great. We’re only here a week but the wife says she wants to go back for their coconut shrimp.

Google
Great food, service, & a must anytime!! They have good Happy Hour specials from 4-6 on food & drinks. Outside dining & live entertainment. The staff were so helpful & friendly, food was fast & on point. Not disappointing at all, loved it!!

Google
Not terrible for a place on the drag. Third time eating here and it was okay, nothing to say great and nothing to say bad just meh. The first two times were one and two years ago.

Yelp
I love this place. This is my favorite place on the N Myrtle Beach ocean front. It has the best beach vibes. The service is always very good. And their happy hour menu is the bomb. My husband and I went there for happy hour every day for a week. They make the best adult drinks, all of their food is delicious - everything from the seafood, do the burgers, to the salad, to the sushi.

Yelp
Man, I really wanted to love this place. It has such potential, but unfortunately must be a hit or miss. I visited because of a recommendation from host when I was in town at the beginning of the month. Pros: There is a lot out outside and inside sitting. During your estimated wait time for your table there is a large jenga set and connect four that makes the time entertaining. If you come right before 5, you'll be able to snag free public parking, If not, you'll have to pay. Live music with good cover songs. Cons: We waited over 30 minutes for our food after being sat. (Which wouldn't be a problem if the food was worth it) I ordered the simply shrimp platter, the coastal combo, kid popcorn shrimp, California sushi roll, and salmon sushi roll. When they brought our food to the table, they forgot the sushi. This was someone's complete meal at the table. Our guest sat with no food and after no waitress attending our table. I had to get up and request her. She said she would check on it. After about 8 minutes I walked inside to inquire what was going on. At this point our table had been sitting with their food for about 15 mins. The coastal combo was cold. You could tell the blackened plate had been sitting out before we received it. They did not eat it. Finally our waitress said that unfortunately there was a long wait and many orders ahead of us due to why the sushi did not arrive. I asked to speak to manager and a guy named Maddox spoke to us. He apologized and said that they did not make the sushi and this restaurant and hired a third company party to do so?!? He explained that there was only one staff member from that company there that day and that is why we did not receive it. It's been 40 mins at this point and still no sushi. I explained that the coastal combo was cold and we did not want to replace it. Maddox brought the sushi out finally with a little bit of salmon in it. Nothing else. Was rude when I said it didn't compensate for the issues. We ended up having the sushi took off, however our guest still paid for the cold combo! He refused to remove it even with it not being ate, because it sat on our table that long due to them. The fried shrimp was the only item worth consuming. I was shocked .....

Yelp
Yummy! My daughter and I arrived around noon and were able to sit at the sushi counter. I got crab cakes with fries, and a grilled cheese for my baby. The crab cake was very good, hardly any fillers! & a simple thing, but these style fries are some of my favorite! My daughter enjoyed her grilled cheese and it even came with some Oreos. Service wasn't super fast (got my margarita at the same time as my food), but it was good nonetheless! There is outside seating as well as inside. Not sure if we would come back with the whole family, because the space felt cramped. Highly recommend the crab cakes though!

Yelp
We had appetizers. They were great. A little overpriced compared to dinner at same price just up the street. Service was not great. She never came back until end of service. Cute atmosphere for the beach.
google avatar

Alexandra H.

Yelp
Always a great time here! Large restaurant with fun decor and friendly service. Our food came out quick and tasted great. I got the Simply Shrimp platter (blackened) and it was huuuge and delish. I also got a mud slide drink on the side which was absolutely everything I dreamed of!

Yelp
I waited until we were out of state to write this in case the owner had an issue with me and decided to shoot me. Food was mediocre, and the vibes were unfriendly.

David B.

Yelp
If you're looking for fancy, this isn't your place. If you want great seafood at a good price, this is your place. My family and I stop at least once every time we're in the area. We have never been disappointed by the food.
google avatar

Michael A.

Yelp
Really cool spot with great happy hour specials. I'd say the peel and eat shrimp and 85 cent happy hour oysters were definitely the highlights. My recommendation here would be to probably stick to the seafood offerings. I wasn't a big fan of the pork sliders or wings. Aside from the food, service and ambiance were both exceptional. Buoys On The Boulevard is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. Go ahead and give this place a try!
google avatar

Tammi M.

Yelp
Tried this place from a local recommendation and it was everything a seafood loving, landlocked girl like me needed. The crab balls were juicy and delicious. Wasn't really a fan of the cinnamon whip for the hush puppies but that's why it's on the side Also had seafood trio; blackened shrimp, fish &fried oysters . . . Even the coleslaw was good! Server was super attentive and she had a lot of large tables to wait on. If you're in NMB, definitely go to Bouy's!
google avatar

Yelp
The food was excellent, as always. We go here every time we are here. The atmosphere is eclectic!! Service is always good. Highly recommend Buoys OTB!!!
google avatar

Allyn S.

Yelp
Good quality. Large portion sizes. Our waiter was very good. The burgers were really good but the nachos a little stale/cold or we would have given an extra star.

Yelp
Came on a Monday. Happy hour . And Game Night which was a pleasant surprise . We had patty melt w potato salad w corn on the cob. 3 sushi rolls. Prosecco and a water. We won a game and won a prize ! Free bottle of wine!
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
Seafood joint on the beach! We made it in time for happy hour which includes $5 margaritas, $5 long islands, crab legs, $0.85 oysters, and sushi rolls.

Yelp
Fun spot beside the Old Pavilion in North Myrtle! Great Happy Hour food Specials. Some of the recipe's from Owner's grandmother!! They have take and bake meals as well!!

Yelp
We had dinner there and we were not disappointed. My husband got the blackened flounder, I got the coconut shrimp the dipping sauce was really good. Thank you to our server Hailey. Will go back when in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent service! Ronald, the bartender, was covering the whole place and was everywhere all at once keeping everyone happy. I had seafood chowder, my husband got the grouper sandwich, and our son chose the fried shrimp platter, all good. Special tip to the great fries and cole slaw. My husband also really liked his margarita. A dive type place in two meanings of the word, a diver figure was hanging from the ceiling and it was also a really laidback slightly grunge type atmosphere in the best sense of the term.

Yelp
It was pretty good, however 1 of the 3 meals wasn't up to par (mine). my friends ordered the shuck it all for 2 and LOVED it. it had a lot of great variety and definitely enough food for the 2 of them. ($70), which was strange because the website showed it being priced at 50 I started off with a dozen oysters. Being on the beach, I was under the impression that these would be FRESH, never frozen. however, they were all completely frozen, where i had to let them thaw out before i could even get them out, not to mention, they were the smallest oysters that i have ever seen. barely any meat, compared to the pre-shucked ones that were in the boil. The extremely limited amount of horseradish they provide was laughable. and on top of that, they charge you an additional amount for another serving. (wasn't even fresh, was probably squeezed out of a bottle). We also ordered a set of coconut shrimp. They were butterflied, as noted, but they were so tiny and only had about 8 bitesize pieces that it was definitely not worth the value. I ordered the coastal combo, which has a nice piece of flounder (a little skimpy and thin), blackened., and some shrimp (which was pretty good, just a little small). there were some fried oysters (which were probably double the size of the fresh ones that were previously ordered). and 3 hush puppies. it was good, but not very fulfilling. I ordered a burger to go, so that i could have a good lunch the following day, and to be honest, that was probably one of the best things about this 'seafood restaurant'. I ordered The "bacon cheeseburger, minus the cheese), cooked medium and they gave ample amounts of bacon, onion, and on a brioche bun. the fries were cooked well, and overall, that was a very good burger. I'm guessing it was about 1/3 of a pound burger, based on the size. they had some table games, and our table had a box of jenga, however only had 7 rows of it available. guess the rest got misplaced, or reallocated to another table. The most positive experience of the entire meal was that the waitress, Taylor, was extremely attentive and was able to keep us hydrated with all the water that we were drinking. That is really the only reason to go back to this place. The hostess was a short girl who was also very helpful and accommodating (didn't get her name, but kudos to her as well) They do have an extensive bar and some great specials. if you are there from 4-6 for happy hour, you may get a better experience. (we missed happy hour by 5 minutes).. Overall, its a nice place, typically packed and usually has a wait. get there early enough and you can get in. When we were leaving, they had some live entertainment in the front of the tent. Total bill for 3 people came out to be about $160 (a little high for the quality), but the tip was a larger portion of it, b/c the waitstaff did very well.

Yelp
Wish we would've found this place earlier on our trip. Happy hour specials with 5 margs and long islands as well and beer and wine specials. Half off some sushi rolls...we had volcano and Mexican roll which were really good!! Also had coconut shrimp but asked for the shaggin sauce instead and oh so good! Also happy hours specials include crab and oysters...11 for half - pound of crab legs and so good! A1 steak bites also very good!! Asked for them medium rare and were perfect. If you like the steamer bowls they had the best prices we have seen and been to multiple places on this trip! Also we had to ask for a happy hour food menu so keep that in mind! It's from 4-6.

Amanda I.

Yelp
Very large menu. Food was good. Ocean front. Indoor and outdoor seating. I highly recommend if in the area

Yelp
WOOOOWWWW. That's all I can say about the quesadilla! It was a tough decision because so many things on the menu were enticing. I can say confidently I made the right choice. I got the Mahi Mahi quesadilla and it was easily the best quesadilla I've ever had in my life. My husband ate the leftovers cold the next day and still agreed that it was the best he ever had too. The hush puppies were to die for, and especially with the cinnamon butter!! Don't miss out. We were seated outside and our waitress was great. Very attentive and everything came out pretty quickly. Our experience was a little bit ruined by the crowd of obnoxious drunk men taking up the three tables across from us. They screamed the entire time so we couldn't speak to each other. But the food was good enough that it was worth it anyway. The Azul lemonade was delicious! A bit expensive overall, but so is everything at Myrtle Beach. We already can't wait to come back because there's so many other things we wanted to order!

Joey S.

Yelp
The food was good. I had a tuna salad and the person I was with had the coconut shrimp. Both dishes were delicious. It was lunch so it was hardly busy. The waiters were good. The outdoor area was nice but there were a bunch of flys. I would recommend it.
google avatar

Joe G.

Yelp
Even on a Monday it was super busy...It sits across from some carnival rides which definitely gives it the cheezey Daytona Beach feel. The menu offers a decent variety of options with more seafood items. The Grouper Salad for less than $15.00 is a great option as there was a generous amount of perfectly cooked Grouper. I got the Bouy Roll with Smoked Marinated Salmon, Crab and Avocado. Both dishes were amazing and our server was great. Not pushy and very attentive and efficient . Prices are fair and location is perfect
google avatar

lauren s.

Yelp
Came here tonight with my sister. We had the trio app (fried okra, fried grouper bites, and shaggin shrimp), spicy tuna roll, and the beach boil (shrimp, crab legs, corn, potatoes, and sausage). The sushi roll was fine, rice a bit chewy. Everything else was fantastic! Sat at the bar and our bartender Jess was great, very attentive. Missed happy hour but even so the prices were still great for the amount of food you get. Even better options and great pricing for happy hour. Will definitely be back!

Myia H.

Yelp
We went the first night of vacation and it was very good then we went again a few nights later. We were waiting for our table and as it started to rain and the lady was still calling names while no one was sitting there anymore. The environment was very stressful. When we were waiting to be seated they only gave us options in the rain so we declined but we understood a long wait because we're a big party and had said it could be 2 different tables but they had sat people who arrived after us anyways. once we finally got seated my chicken tenders were cold and hard when they came out. I hope that if we go back again our service and food is better because when we have gone in the past it became one of our favorites.

Yelp
We ended up hear on a whim since 1st choice wasn't open yet. They have inside and outside seating, we didn't make past the bar area so not sure beachfront. We sat inside since it was hot. Very colorful fun beachy vibe. The menu is huge everything from nachos, steak, boils, raw bar and sushi. We had the peel & eat shrimp to start (delicious). For our meals, steak tips & crab cake, crab cake & what was supposed to be grilles shrimp I think blackened Instead & nachos. The nachos could feed the whole neighborhood. The drink menu sounded great too.

Josh A.

Yelp
Love everything about the restaurant and everything they do for their community but we may rethink coming here 2-3 time a year on vacation. Food last night was horrible. No positives I can give on anything. Not sure what's happened.

C M.

Yelp
Such a cute place! We passed by going to our hotel and decided to have lunch there the next day and it definitely did not disappoint. We were greeted immediately and our server was great! Perfect selection for a kids menu and so many great options. Their shrimp were FANTASTIC! Absolutely will be back in the future, we loved it! Went back a second time...same trip and it was just as wonderful! The cheeseburger melt...amazing! Probably one of the best burgers I've had in a long time! Go try it, you won't be disappointed
google avatar

Yelp
We walked to Buoys recently for a dinner and then 2 lunches (think we liked it?). We tried 3 of their signature rum cocktails and they were all delicious and easy to partake in. The nachos with choice of protein are huge and delicious for the money. The cheesesteak, wings, shrimp po boy and salmon were excellent! Although we walked, there is parking right next to Buoys. The service (even though very crowded one time) was friendly and attentive. Prices were more than fair.
google avatar

Mike F.

Yelp
Decent food but nothing to write home about. Happy hour is everyday so that brought or cost down a little bit. Shaggin shrimp is the best thing on the menu. Queso was really good. Peel and eat shrimp a tad overcooked. Service was good and there is seating in and out.

John R.

Yelp
Food was great. Great beach atmosphere and vibe. Prompt and attentive service. Only downside was that there were a lot of flies. Nonetheless we will return.
google avatar

Aaron B.

Yelp
Nice little whole in the wall type restaurant but a great local spot. Live music, indoor and outdoor dining, cornhole and jenga to play while you wait for your table. Went with a fairly large group so it was some time before we got seated comfortably. They have a great extension of a menu of food and drinks. I finally decided on the crabby Weldon. I normally don't do fried crab cakes but it was actually good. Crab cake wasn't too heavy or overly breaded. Just the right size to add onto the burger. The special sauce they make adds that extra flavor to the burger to enjoy it even more. Fries were perfectly crispy. Didn't even need any dipping sauce. That's how good they were to me. Be careful with parking as it's not that much parking in the lot behind the restaurant and no street parking.
google avatar

Delaney M.

Yelp
It was okay. The prices were pretty high considering it was the off season. I ordered the chicken tenders, and it said they came with fries and hush puppies but there were maybe 3 in the meal. The service was fine, it's just a normal family restaurant type of place. Great decorations though.
google avatar

Amber L.

Yelp
Loved everything about our lunch experience! The wait staff were so friendly and make you feel like family when you walk into the door up until you leave! The food is delicious! My husband said this was the best shrimp po boy he's had! The crab legs were fresh! We definitely will be back! Thanks for a good time and good eats ya'll!

Yelp
Buoys has been on my list of places to try for a while now and finally got a chance to check them out and boy am I glad I was able to finally check it out with my parents who are visiting from out of town. They are the perfect place for locals...a little bit hole in the wall, a little bit divey and a whole lot of deliciousness. They have a wide variety of items on their menu and is one of those places that everyone can find something. I ordered the Crabby Weldon cooked medium and it was one of the best burgers I have had in a really long time. The crab cake is not heavily breaded like most places tend to prepare them and the remoulade is very subtle but very flavorful. The fries are probably the best fries I have ever had in a restaurant and that says a lot. To me, you know a fry is good when you don't need to use ketchup or any other dipping sauce. I would go there just to order fries they are that good. lol My mom ordered the grilled Mahi Mahi salad and said that the mahi mahi was cooked perfectly. The seasoning that the use when grilling was not overpowering which allowed the natural flavor of the mahi mahi stand out. She also ordered the chili and when asking if it was spicy, our server Sue stated that it wasn't but brought a sample of it out to my mom to make sure that it would be okay for her. This is a level of customer service that you don't find very often anymore and is a true testament to why they have been voted best bar/restaurant. My dad ordered the Grumpy Grouper (grilled) and he thought it was some of the best grouper he has ever had. Like the mahi, the seasoning was not overpowering. Parking is a little tricky to figure out if you haven't been there before, but a quick call to inquire about it, we knew it was okay to park behind the restaurant despite the $10 signs as it is the off season but was also told that parking is to the right of the building if looking at it from the street. As others have mentioned, this is an older establishment so indoor seating can be limited. They have tables that will accommodate larger groups and they have seating options outside. This will definitely be a place that we will become regulars at and will be a place that we bring out of town guests too. We may or may not go back tonight. lol
google avatar

Leah P.

Yelp
Worst food. Server with the pink hair didn't ask us once if we had any problems and the calamari was like bubble gum. Don't waste your time here. Service was the terrible!!!
google avatar

Leslie P.

Yelp
Great place. Live music. Food was excellent. Had the seafood platter. Yummy Music was as wonderful. Just nice folks
google avatar

Patrick L.

Yelp
Stop in on a slow off-season night with a two year-old. Staff did a good job of keeping her occupied and the food was solid. My wife really enjoyed the raw oysters, which were a pretty good value. Good beer selection as well. Would be better during season where you get more of the beach feel.
google avatar

Drew K.

Yelp
Have been going for years but service is no longer acceptable. I understand it's busy season but told 30 min for table and it took 1 hour 15. Once seated food took another hour for our party of 5. However, tables seated after us received food and left before our food came. Was polite to waitress who blamed it on a burger taking so long. Food quality and taste is okay but no longer stellar. Seems like it's more about the money than ensuring your customers have a good experience. I'd like to see the restaurant go back to their roots and what made them successful.
google avatar

Samantha F.

Yelp
You don't get the warm and fuzzy here for being a smaller bar. I was ignored for several minutes at a non busy time . The only reason I saw the menu was AFTER I ordered and a couple came in after me and got it . I feel like if you're not a local they don't care , that was my experience. I can't imagine coming in a busy time as a women alone . The food was good . Service was not which goes a long way
google avatar

Mark E.

Yelp
AMAZING! The place seems like your typical beach-restaurant/bar, but once you get your food, you'll be glad you stopped in! I got the blackened flounder and shrimp. Wife got the blackened mahi-mahi tacos and someone from our table got some fresh oysters to start-off with. Everything was great! I even got to try one of my niece's coconut shrimp....fantastic!!! Lunch time was not very busy, got seated right away and got our food at a very reasonable time. This was a last-moment decision for us and we're very glad we did!

Yelp
Drove down to North Myrtle Beach to meet up with my Daughter Amy and to celebrate her 50th Birthday. Long story but my ex-wife and I had to give Amy up for Adoption when she was born and Amy and I finally made connection over Labor Day Weekend in 2018 through a DNA match from Ancestry.com. I flew out to Carlsbad CA in Nov 2018 and met Amy and her husband Charley and Zayden, a Grandson I did not even know about. Amy's adopted Father lives in Greensboro and has a house in North Myrtle Beach that Amy and her family meet at every couple of years. In addition to reconnecting with Amy, Charley and Zayden, I got a chance to meet her step-daughters and their families and Tiffany who Amy fostered and later adopted when she was in school in Ohio. We debated where to go for lunch and they had been to Buoys on the Boulevard the night before and loved. We all piled into the cars and drove over and I will admit, finding parking was a bit of a challenge. Everyone got something different. I had a shrimp platter that was excellent. Others had Crab Cakes, Flounder, Grouper, etc. Food was great and service was excellent. Enough games to keep the young ones amply entertained. Definitely a keeper

Yelp
A fun place to go for good food. Was here in 2020 and again last evening. Our server, Haleigh, was great, friendly and attentive to our needs. She even honored our request for 7 separate checks. We will likely go back again this week.

Yelp
When on vacation at the beach, I am always looking for the best oysters. This time I was on a mission for fried oysters. Bouys is walking distance from the condo. After viewing the menu, we decided to walk to dinner since we had been day drinking a tiny bit. We sat at the bar and had a few more adult beverages and decided to share an order of oysters and app of fried okra. This was some of the worse oysters I have ever eaten. Cant even describe how horrible they were. Lost my appetite immediately. My boyfriends taste buds are obviously dead (he is a very picky eater) he ended up finishing it all and was happy! Good for him! I will return for the convenience, but will never order oysters from here again.
google avatar

Penny H.

Yelp
We had the best food, drinks, and service that we have had in a long time. Then to top it all off the photographer took a picture of me and my husband that might just be the best picture that we have ever taken togethe. The prices were comparable to the other restaurants in town. All in all we had a great experience.

Michael H.

Yelp
Mahi tacos were a little bland but not bad. Waitress had 10+ tables but still kept good check on us. We sat outside on the ocean blvd side. It was nice other than occasional loud car but not something the restaurant can do about that. Would go back.

Yelp
While vacationing in North Myrtle Beach, we tried Buoys one night. The wait was supposed to be long as they had many people wanting to dine here. We ended up being seated faster than we expected. We sat in the back on the restaurant outside. The restaurant was loud and they had karaoke going on at the front. It was a fun, exciting place to be. For an appetizer we ordered the shaggin shrimp which was bomb! It's topped with banana peppers to give it extra spice. For entrees we ordered the shark attack burger and the crabby Weldon. The crabby Weldon is topped with a crab cake and remoulade that I thoroughly enjoyed. It had great flavor and you could taste the old bay seasonings on it. The shark attack was what my husband ordered and he thought it was just ok. They give you a large piece of chicken, which isn't bad but may be too big for a sandwich. For drinks we ordered miss sun fun mojito and the 93 SOB. They were just ok. Not much alcohol at all and tasted like something you'd get a college bar. Overall, our kids enjoyed their meals and the service was beyond excellent. Our waitress was so sweet and helpful. She provided excellent service.

Yelp
This is a true gem! The service. The food. The atmosphere. Everything you ever wanted in a fun little shack off the beach. Had the shrimp tacos and frozen drink. Nothing more than just relaxing and enjoying great food.
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere was spot on for the location. Service was great, he recommended the Shark Attack which is what I got and it was very good.
