Buredo

This review is in two parts: food and service. The food: it was excellent. The price was reasonable, the food itself was delicious, and the portion size was large enough that even a big, hungry guy like myself was very content. Service: I've worked at fast causal restaurants like this before, and I was impressed at the efficiency Even at the tail end of the lunch rush, the line was wrapped all around, and I was still in the queue for less than five minutes. Then we ran into trouble: the pork wasn't ready yet, and something apparently went wrong in the back. After a few minutes, the manager gave everyone waiting a free drink. After a few more minutes, he comped my meal. I would like to be clear: I was in no way upset or disappointed. I was there for 20 minutes total, and the manager was under no obligation to do that. Credit to Buredo, and I'll definitely be coming back.

Something is off with this restaurant tonight. We went in at 8:10 and the restaurant closes at 9. After ordering, there was at least a 15 minute wait for more shrimp to be prepared. While I was waiting, everything was being put away including serving spoons and ingredients. With 50 minutes to go, it was awkward to wait while they obviously wanted to get out. While I was waiting I paid for the 2 orders and was asked “do you think you’re going to want a bag?” I wondered if the bags are also going to be packed up. Then, when the orders were ready, I was asked by the person I had just paid 5 minutes ago if I paid. “Yes, I just paid you. Don’t you remember?” She looked at me quizzically as if I was going to leave without paying. How could she forget given there were 2 employees in front, I was the only customer and she was the one who I paid. As for the food, it was ok but a very poor experience from the staff. If I were the owner/ manager, I’d have serious concerns about putting things away close to 1 hour early.

Is it me or is this place just a glorified kimbap place? Either way, pretty good quick food all in a sushi roll (seaweed and rice) or you can get everything in a bowl. I had a couple of bites of the Beatrix (umami, sweet salmon/tuna roll). It was good but not great. The Lucky (think pho wrapped in rice and seaweed) was really good. However, I think it is just a little overpriced. I would much rather go to a Korean grocery store and order several rolls of kimbap; too bad there aren't any around. I wanted to add that the service here was fantastic.

This place is great! They could improve the menu a little by adding more choices. Also not sure if you can build your own buredo or not, it was not on the menu or anywhere else (I could have missed it).

Bountiful bites of healthy greens and meat (sushi, pork or all veggy versions) with a little rice and delicious dressing all conveniently rolled up in a crisp seaweed wrap. Yum!!!

Great service and a yummy twist on sushi. Nice addition to the Tenley offerings.
