The 16 Best Restaurants & Pubs In The Cotswolds - Cotswolds - The Infatuation

"Calling Burford Garden Centre a garden centre is an understatement. It’s an emporium of tufted Moroccan rugs and chocolate in nice tins, with an all-day cafe where you might spot the odd minor Cotswolds celebrity next to a Schöffel-clad couple enjoying soup and a catch-up. The seasonal British food at this Burford spot is House & Garden photo shoot-ready: juicy slabs of grilled chicken, tagine humming with cumin and sprinkled with pomegranate seeds And the twinkling chandeliers make prosecco with your salad feel like a sensible choice for lunch." - sinead cranna

Burford Garden Centre Review - Cotswolds - The Infatuation

"Calling Burford Garden Centre a garden centre is an understatement. It’s an emporium of tufted Moroccan rugs, oak outdoor furniture, and chocolate in nice tins that you’ll keep for decoration, with an all-day cafe that’s set up like a canteen—just one that’s had an extreme glow-up. You might spot the odd minor Cotswolds celebrity next to a small group having a serene 60th birthday breakfast, or just a Schöffel-clad couple enjoying soup and a catch-up. The seasonal British food at this Burford spot is similarly House & Garden photoshoot-ready: juicy slabs of grilled chicken, tagine humming with cumin and sprinkled with pomegranate seeds, and a dessert fridge that demands a second and third look. The twinkling chandeliers make prosecco with your salad feel like a sensible choice for lunch and the warm rattan gives everything a sepia, golden hour glow. video credit: Sinéad Cranna video credit: Sinéad Cranna video credit: Sinéad Cranna photo credit: Sinéad Cranna video credit: Sinéad Cranna" - Sinéad Cranna

Burford Garden Company is an amazing place to visit! It’s not just a garden center — they have a huge selection of plants, seeds, and gardening tools, but also beautiful homeware, clothing, and decorations. I especially loved their Christmas section — full of magical ornaments and festive inspiration. A wonderful place to spend time and find something special for every season.

Google
A really lovely place with so much to see and explore. It has everything from children’s toys to pet accessories, beautifully presented and thoughtfully laid out. That said, be prepared to spend — prices are definitely on the higher side, with a noticeable markup on most items. We had a lovely time wandering around, but it’s more of a “browse and admire” destination than a “fill the trolley” kind of shop.

Wow, another great Garden centre. While staying in the beautiful historical town of Burford the gateway to the Cotswolds we visited a few small villages and attractions close by Burford garden centre being one of them. It's super close by just off the A40 highway. Super easy access and huge carpark. It has absolutely everything you need for the garden and home. Massive selection of plants and trees suited for England. Amazing indoor plant selection as well. Not to mention all the utensils you need. It has an art gallery, book store, clothing section, alcohol section and a chocolate room when Christmas comes around. The restaurant is also fantastic, serving great food and not over priced. Everyone that I spoke to in the garden centre loved it and the staff were super friendly and helpful. You honestly couldn't ask for more. Unfortunately I couldn't take pictures of the plants as the weather wasn't playing ball that day but we are planning a trip nearer Christmas.

Google
Very well established on the edge of Burford with a great reputation for quality...the Roll Royce standard of garden centres for the quality and sheer range of plants, complemented by high end art and sculpture for sale and an excellent cafe restaurant with a wide ranging menu. Staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Please note there is a no dog policy. Lots of free parking and level disabled access.

Google
One of the best garden centre in the UK, with many rarely found brands and decent stuffs that you couldn’t see in any other garden centres. There’re so many species of flower bulbs that again is quite hard to find outside. This is quite a good point to visit. Cafe is decent and price is reasonable.

OMG This Garden Centre is AMAZING! It’s a must, we happened to be driving past with grumbling tummies & Wowzers! What a stop! Food top notch, amazing selection of hot & cold dishes. The actual shop is amazing! Huge selection of home wares, food & plants of all types. This is a must.

Google
It’s huge and has an incredible selection of gourmet produce, plants, beauty products, home decor, and more. I could spend hours here, but I really enjoyed my time exploring. Their cafe and seating area are also lovely and airy. Didn't try much of their food, but their gelato was nice and very reasonably priced. A must visit in the area!

Google
This place just keeps going! Plants, kitchen, bath, clothing, patio furniture, books… In the book store area you can even buy genuine ancient bronze and Roman relics. This is a high end shop.

Yelp
If you're from around here, you already know how wonderful it is here. If you're from stateside like me, you don't. If you're spending the day in Burford, take the time to drive a few more minutes to stop by the Burford Garden Company. It is so much more than a plant store (though they do have plants a'plenty). There is an extensive selection of unique clothing items for both men and women--outerwear, fashion items, and footwear are all available. There is a wonderful selection of intriguing decor items from brightly colored candles to gorgeous pottery to beautiful furniture. There's a particularly wonderful Christmas department as well--I found a charming Advent calendar and the cutest little cards to go on Christmas gifts. There's an amazing tea shop at which you can find delicious food items (hot and cold, sweet and savory--you name it!). It was exactly what we needed for lunch. Don't miss the food shops, either--they have an extensive selection of chocolates from around the world, traditional cakes and cookies, and a liquor store with a highly respectable selection of gin. Plenty of parking is available, the service is wonderful, and there really is something for everyone.

Yelp
One of the most amazing places I have ever visited. Perhaps it's because I am from the states and I have never seen a place like this! We loved the diversity and quality of the merchandise and plants. From the food to the garden shop, the party supplies to the toy store, it's a must visit when entering the Cotswolds!

Yelp
The parsnip was not shaved and raw. The beef and pork were cooked well, however the lamb wasn't. The lamb was taken home for the dog to eat. The kale was rubbery. I left the restaurant still hungry because the food wasn't cooked properly. You're much better off going to the Mermaid pub.

Yelp
great pace for variety and choice, but very expensive, lovely place set out wonderfully, fantastic things that unfortunately you don't see anywhere else, so you end up buying it eventhough it seems quite a lot. It has a restaurant and food area to buy produce and kitchen equipment and food. Lovely
