Burg Reichenstein (Trechtingshausen, Rheinland-Pfalz) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The elevated location of Burg Reichenstein offers guests a divine backdrop, with a view sweeping over the Rhine. The decor is modern, with a homely and elegant feel, complete with all the character of a castle. The guestrooms are of varying shapes and sizes, some very small, but charming. The on-site museum offers insights into the castle's history (for a charge)." - Tablet Hotels

Hotel Burg Reichenstein | Best castles you can stay in

"The 67km, UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley is home to 40+ castles, reflecting the importance of the Rhine as a trade route over centuries. This 1100s Burg has been reconstructed to retain many of its original features. Its 24 guest rooms, while contemporary, are in the heart of the complex. " - Matthew Roach

Very nice castle. Good place for a family day. Parking immediately on the castle gate are limited. But down by the street there are a lot of parking.

Such an amazing place to stay right on the Rhine River! Wonderful room and staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We stayed in the Vorburg Suite for a night and never wanted to leave!

Burg Reichenstein is a very beautiful castle that is now turned into a hotel. It has very beautiful views and would like to stay here next time we're in the area

Just spent a quick one night get away here with my wife and loved it. Our room was beautiful with an incredible view of the Rhein. The check in process was smooth and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We had a great dinner of wild boar that came from the area around the hotel. The room rate includes admission to the castle museum which is amazing. We had a great stay and I highly recommend a visit to Burg Reichenstein.

We hosted a retreat there, and it was the best experience ever. I am used to organize these events, which can be challenging, but the staff of the Burg, not just had all the patience in the world with all the requests of participants and different timings, but they were super proactive in supporting me to find more effective solutions for all eventualities. They took care of participants suffering from food allergies by asking me who they were, and they costumized their service to make sure that no one would get the "wrong" food. The food is amazing and the rooms are marvelous. It was a great experience. I will definitely come back.

Absolutely stunning castle hotel. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Delicious meals and afternoon tea service. We loved the garden and museum, too. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Laura gave us a lot of fun recommendations for other places to visit in the area. Lovely views of the Rhine River and vineyards. Highly recommended

Google
I cannot say enough about this place - the experience is one of a kind, especially if you get a room. A room comes with a plentiful afternoon tea, free museum admission, after hours access to the grounds, and an impressive breakfast buffet. We plan to stay here any time we come to Germany!

Yelp
A beautifully maintained castle on the Rhine River, the Burg Reichenstein has a fantastic museum you can walk through on your own, complete with a working bowling, alley and even a costume room where you can dress up in medieval garb. The adjoining hotel is wonderful and makes for a perfect wedding venue. The staff here is absolutely incredible and makes the overall experience five-star.

Yelp
We stayed at the hotel and went to the museum. I'll start with the museum. It was fantastic and well worth the €5. The set up lets you wonder around with a map and you're able to explore the castle at your own pace. There aren't many items behind glass which really surprised me, it but made the experience much more authentic. The hotel was great, the breakfast in particular! The room was very modern and comfortable, the only thing that I would change would have been the pillows, they where almost too puffy. The only other down-side I can think of would be that over the summer there isn't any AC to cool down the room.

Yelp
This small castle from the middle ages is available for touring or you can rent it for that specual occasion. I get the impression that they do frequent weddings here. On the walls youll find about 1000 hunting trophies. Mostly deer and a few other critters. There is a display of armor, ovens (built by one of the castle owners), paintings. The tour is pretty much on your own and information provided is spotty. Plan on at an hour but thats giving yourself a lot of time. There is a hotel and restaurant on site but did not try them.

Yelp
We stayed here 25 years ago and it was spectacular then. It has been updated, so I can only imagine that it is even more wonderful now.
