Gourmetrestaurant "fine dining RS"

"The secluded, quiet location up here at Staufeneck Castle is wonderful, as is the view of the Fils valley. Head to Burghotel's fine dining restaurant to drink it all in via the large panoramic windows – in fine weather you can even see Stuttgart airport and the TV Tower! Guests take their seats in tasteful and elegantly minimalist surroundings to enjoy professional and charming service courtesy of the Swabian-speaking front-of-house team – yes, this is an authentic regional experience!  Rolf Straubinger and his long-time chef de cuisine Markus Waibel impress diners with a modern set menu - really elaborate dishes that are agreeably light and subtle and full of interesting flavour contrasts. Alternatively, try out oifach andersch, which proposes traditional Swabian cuisine that also draws on international influences." - Michelin Inspector

Unfortunately, this place has changed a lot. It used to be our favorite place to travel, and over the years, we’ve stayed multiple times, including this most recent one where we stayed for five nights but I doubt we’ll be back. The staff doesn’t really seem to care if we are there or not, and rarely said hello when we come in and out. The breakfast staff was hard to track town and get anything from and the breakfast itself had roughly 2/3 of what it used to Available. We used to sit on the patio, even when it was cold they would have heaters and we could look at the deer in the view, but this time was only open one time… It was closed one day because it was cold so I guess they just didn’t feel like putting the heaters out and another day because it had rained earlier But it was no longer raining so I guess they just didn’t want to dry off the patio furniture. The spa area is still beautiful but if you go in the afternoon three of the five days we went had no towels available and had cups and glassware on roughly 50% of available surfaces. This used to be our favorite place to go, but I would no longer recommend it. I think maybe they’re just understaffed and they don’t seem to be very interested in making any changes. Old review: From check in to check out the service and the ambience which truly incredible. From everyone who waited on us at the concierge desk to everyone who waited on us at the restaurant - all fantastic. You really cannot beat the view from so many different spots. Oh!!! And the sauna is truly the most incredible sauna I’ve ever been in.

Overall beautiful, very clean, very well arranged with attention to details hotel. Great wellness area and food service. Lovely surrounding. Some area for improvement: Not sure why wellness/sauna is available only from 12 to 20. Due to fact that it is a an expensive 5 star hotel, I would expect a bit more. Front desk service was a bit confusing with information they provide (about wellness area) and giving room card. TV internet connection didn’t work in our room, although the option was available in TV.

Amazing place and the spa is great. The staff was a bit overwhelmed and the breakfast experience not that smooth.

Burg Staufeneck is a very pleasant hotel, located not far from Stuttgart.||||The hotel's area in nature is very calming and beautiful. ||||The room was well equipped and spacious.||||The highlight of the stay was the breakfast. The quality of the ingredients, freshness of the fruits and vegetables, as well as the quality of the home made breads and pastries are unparalleled. Simply the best hotel breakfast I ever had in the thousands of nights I spent in hotels worldwide||||Highly recommended for a calm stay in nature

enjoyed a most fantastic stay and a fabulous dinner - the restaurant is stunning by the quality, harmony and creativity of the dishes. Although there is just one menu, that is perfect to spend some time in a gastronomic heaven. Merits more than the actual one Michelin star. Competent staff and great selection of wines. All in all a truly great stay. Competent and friendly personnel. If there is just one element : the sekt was not really at the right temperature but that was coorected swiftly

Love this place, the location is amazing, an old castle overlooking on the hill. The room is very comfortable, clean and the pillows are super puff and comfortable. The room is spacious and new. The host there was super warm and welcoming. Professional staff. Breakfast here was amazing. Fresh fruits and great variety and options. If you feel like spoiling yourself look to have dinner at the restaurant found at this location, highly priced but totally worth it, chef is exquisite.

Very good restaurant (“Burgrestaurant Oifach Andersch), extremely disappointing room (“apartment”).||We stayed with our 2 young children (2 and 4 years old) in the apartment, and hoped with our €305 rate to have the promised luxury stay. It was unfortunately disappointing.||Cons:|- Outdated room, next to storage area and parking|- No airconditioning|- No blackout curtains|- No fly screens, resulting in mosquito bites, waking up multiple times and killing 10+ mosquitos during the night |- No possibility to lock hotel room door from inside|- No door between entrance area / kitchenette and sleeping area|- No turn down service or an “extra” like a water bottle|- No toiletries, except almost empty “hair & body wash” press|- Offered aperitif upon arrival turned out to be on own expense when used later (€20) |- Not very clean (hairs in shower and garbage in bin, clearly of previous guest)||Pros:|- Views and setting|- Free parking|- Beds made for children upon request|- Swimming pool, although not as warm (much less than 27 degrees) as stated|- Very pleasant restaurant, with good service and food, both for dinner and breakfast||In short, worth to dine, not to stay. We had great expectations and hoped to make this our yearly stay whilst travelling south for our summer holidays, but we will not be back.

Wow. This place is amazing. The hotel is small, just around 40 rooms. But everything is perfect. The rooms are big and very nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly. The pool and wellness area is great. And don't get me started about the food. The 4 course fish menu was delightful. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed my stay in a hotel that much.
