Google
10/10. This is such a cute place. I love the outdoor walk up windows. We actually got quite a bit of food and ate all of it! I would for sure come back here. The day we came it really rained so we were able to get a good rainbow pic!!!

Google
I ordered the colossal burger with bacon, jalapeno, mayonnaise, mustard, and all the fixings. It was an old-fashioned, delicious burger. A massive portion of fries came with the meal. If I had to say anything negative, it would be nice if the onion rings were hand-battered on location instead of coming from a bag. That's just a personal thing; freshly hand-battered onion rings are amazing, especially if they're not overly sweet, so I didn't try them here.

We stopped here on a recent trip to San Jose. We always love to hit up local small businesses whenever we can. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Food was hot and cooked to order. Everyone was happy. The impromptu churros were the best part. We only saw outdoor seating which was a little on the chilly side in November, but it worked for us.

Google
Funky retro place. Aluminum umbrellas, cute metal tables, inexpensive food. Standard fare hamburgers, fries, milkshakes. LOTS of parking. Crispy onion rings.

Google
Cheap late night burgers that drunk college students love. Definitely the place to go after having a drink or two. Super cheap yummy burgers for a good price that you can split amongst your friends. Don’t be surprised if some random comes and talks to you while you wait for your food. Definitely a great local spot.

Sylvia

Google
Burger bar is my latest obsession. Bacon cheeseburger and a side of onion rings is my go-to order. The fried chicken is absolutely delicious, but you have to be patient because it takes about 15-20 to make. Definitely worth the wait. Fries are always limp, I like my fries crispy. Never really thought about asking for extra crispy until this moment, but will try next time for sure.

Google
If you want good old burgers, this is the spot!!! The cheeseburgers are super good and simple, mayo, pickle relish, cheese, patty, fluffy buns but perfecting simplicity takes skill and dedication!!! These people care about the delicious food they offer, and you can taste it in every bite!!!

Chris L.

Google
Ok, not to sound melodramatic, but... So, like, that's an awesome cheeseburger. It invokes the memory of a McD's cheeseburger from your youth....like the first one you ever had. When you go eat one now at McD's, you're disappointed, and you're like, "That's not what I remember..." THIS cheeseburger is what you REMEMBER, back before burgers were ever ultra processed. Fries are better than In-N-Out, hands down. Is it "the best burger?" No. But if you're looking for nostalgia in the best sense of that word, this is it. It's pretty dang awesome. If you're anywhere near here, stop by and grab some food.

Yelp
Definitely one of those quantity (and cost efficiency) over quality. Spacious parking and outdoor seating. We went here in the early afternoon in May and it was definitely a bit chilly and windy. There were a couple other parties there ordering and eating, but nowhere near crowded. There was enough seating. We got the: 1) Bag of Burgers: -This is 5 burgers with mayo and relish. -It's crazy to see that this used to be $7, but is now around $12-ish, but that's what inflation and the everchanging world does. -They're decent and solid burgers. A bit flatter and smaller, but the sauce does add a bit of sweetness to it and combats the slight dryness. -Great for a quick snack meal to get you going until the next main meal. 2) Family Fries: -This is a huge amount of fries that fills up a fairly large paper bag. -Definitely needs sauce and I feel like they come out pre-soggy. -It's a junky food if you need extra carbs with your fast food or are craving fries, but I'd honestly skip this massive order since they're so soggy and we had to eventually toss it unless you have a group or as the name suggests, an entire family to eat it. Overall, Burger Bar fulfills the gastronomical niche it needs to.

Yelp
Are you serious 5 burgers for 9.99? They must be a small and cheesy, Im here to tell you they are legit. we opted for the 5 cheeseburgers, They reminded me of childhood block parties where you would roll up on a neighbor's house and they would hand you a no frills delicious burger with the perfect amount of Mayo and relish. The staff are friendly and fast. IM sure this spot gets hella busy so be patient. Plenty of lot parking on a busy street. Ig you want a treat that won't break the bank make your way over to this spot.

Yelp
A delicious on frills cheese burgers rainy day. The service was friendly. Taste of nostalgia.

Yelp
I drive by this place all the time, finally decided to try it. The food was ok, nothing spectacular. For what I paid, it was a decent amount. However, the food made me sick. I got a burger, chili fries, corn dog and a root beer float. I shared the fries with my co workers. I took 2 bites and was not a fan. The corn dog was decent. I liked that it was crispy however it tasted like it had been fried in OLD oil. Burger was super bland and dry. I think I got sick from the burger. I didn't have enough fries or corn dog, and my co worker didn't get sick. The burger gave me a massive heart burn which resulted in me puking. The cashier was not very welcoming, she had this permanent stank face, when she repeated back the order, I couldn't even hear her. She rolled her eyes every time I asked her something. No smile, nothing. But I guess given the area it comes with the territory.

Yelp
Almost $15 for a deluxe cheeseburger combo w/ shake upgrade. Fulfills the need for a McDonald's like burger, pretty good unremarkable 1/4 pound burger. Fries aren't perfectly crispy but still good, kind of like how in n out fries used to be. Shake was 11/10-I think they blended canned strawberries, giving it a great texture and flavor.

Yelp
This has become my go to place in san jose! The bag of cheeseburgers is only 14 bucks for 5, a nice. Helping of onion rings and the milkshakes are amazing. It's a walk up establishment with a few tables to enjoy your food so as far as ambiance, it depends on what is going on outside, but the service is quick and friendly . Definitely a place I'd recommend for a quick bite... not necessarily a place for romance dinners...lol

Yelp
Last time I ate here was over 10 years ago.Legendary spot. The bag of burgers has always been a solid deal and good service over all! Maybe my tastebuds have matured over the years but I really struggled with that sweet relish ketchup in the burger. And i got a double cheeseburger so that made the beef more noticeable and I have to say, the beef patties were a little dry and not the best tasting.but it was not bad either. kind of reminded me of a dryer Salisbury steak minus the gravy. But I still respect this spot. The fries were good and they give ALOT for the family size! Also got a breakfast sandwich and it was delicious! The bacon was cooked perfectly and crispy! I would definitely still eat here again but will probably opt for removing the relish and just stick to ketchup! I do also want to try their nuggets, taco, burrito, fish sandwich, and chicken sandwich! I hope this place keeps going!

Bhoyete O.

Yelp
This place is in institution. The bag of burgers is still such a great deal in this economy. Their shakes are so good. Their fries are perfect. Their bbq steak sandwich is outstanding. Their tacos are better than jack in the box'. In short it's all good everything. Service eh let's just say they ain't the fastes like they used to back in the day but they are fresh. Outside they have done a lot of work and added new seating but I prefer taking it to go. Not the friendliest of neighborhoods

Yelp
The Burger Bar, although a burger place, does not serve the best burgers. They are serviceable for the price, but I would recommend other options. I tried a bacon cheeseburger, onion rings, jalapeno poppers, a corn dog, and a shake . I'd recommend all but the burger. I have not had a chance to try and chicken items yet, but they are high on my list.

Briana V.

Yelp
Burger bar wasn't anything special besides the length of time the place has been in SJ. The burgers in my opinion were not tasty at all but the milkshakes on the other hand were very delicious. The burger lacked flavor and was very dry. The burgers are also are inexpensive and would be great maybe after a late night coming home from the bar. I don't have a desire to go back but glad I got to try them.
google avatar

Richard V.

Yelp
If you are looking for a lower priced, small, cheap meat, no frills burger, this is the spot. I had a regular burger. You get what you pay for at about $3-4. I was in a bit of a hurry, so it worked for the job. Reminded me of a McDonalds burger back in the day that was under a dollar. So it has that going for it. I won't be going back.

Yelp
Burger Bar - A Certified Hood Classic Welcome back to another episode of Trash Dining, where we dive deep into the greasy underbelly of comfort food--and today's feature is none other than a San Jose staple: Burger Bar. Five burgers with cheese and relish maybe for $12. Yes, you heard that right. But a word of advice--don't call the takeout lady and ask for "five orders of bags of burgers." She'll kindly correct you. Just say you want one order. Now the burger? Imagine a Wienerschnitzel burger and a McDonald's cheeseburger had sex and made a baby. That baby is the Burger Bar burger. (Shout out to the Pineapple Express reference--James Franco would be proud.) The fries? Skinny, a little shoe-stringy, and can best be described as... limp. Like, "Ed couldn't get it up" kinda limp. You get it. But for what it is? Burger Bar is a certified hood classic. Don't come expecting truffle aioli or wagyu anything--come for the nostalgia, the deal, and the bite of something that's been keeping the block fed for years

Yelp
I've driven past this place more than a few times and have been curious for months. Finally made my way there and it did not disappoint. Food: the burgers are good. They have a sauce on them that's delicious. They taste fantastic. The fries are really good! Sprinkle a little salt and man, are they addictive. I was surprised at how much fries was given. It balanced out the smaller burger. Service: run of the mill. Nothing bad, nothing amazing. Ambiance: it's at the corner of a busy-ish street so there's that. Otherwise, we enjoyed seating outside and eating in relative peace. It's a great burger, amazing fries, and an excellent price point. If you haven't made your way there yet, it's worth the trip

Yelp
They will try to make u pay more if u order online. They need to fix the system because apparently if u order a bag of burger and try to add bacon to them itll say 1.50$ but when u show up they say its 1.50 per burger and thats never happened to me before so dont come here they'll try to scam u for some mediocre food. Why would i pay an extra 6$ for some bacon when they put one little half strip anyway?

Yelp
My buddy and I's First time here, we ordered a bag of cheeseburgers (5 per bag, ~ 13 bucks for cheese ones) , a churro, fruit punch (I saw refills for 0.60 cents I think?) , family size fries, onion rings, and a bean and cheese burrito. I love how they fill the bag of fries to the top and they are more of a thinner softer fry I loved them but they were a bit too salty. Burger patty was like an inch smaller than the bun but I liked it, no frills but still satisfying. I would say that they're not the biggest but they're still filling. I was left wishing that the meat actually fit the size of the bun but maybe I just got unlucky.I loved the fruit punch!! Not too sweet either. The bean and cheese burrito had a crispy tortilla which was great and the beans were tasty and it was exactly the flavor I was craving out of a bean and cheese burrito! Onion rings are standard and not too salty which I appreciated. Finally, the churro. I wouldn't get it again unless I knew for a fact it was fresh because it was kinda dry and hard. The person taking my order was very pleasant and we did not wait much for our orders even though there were quite a few people which I can always appreciate. I will definitely be bringing other people to try this spot, because I really enjoyed my visit. there's such a vast menu left for me to try and so many options, it was hard to choose! Excited to go back!

Yelp
Yeah I've been driving past this place for years thinking it was a ghetto, run down burger spot, but I was always intrigued by the mystical sign advertising "Burgers 5 for $9.99". One day, I finally tried it. Let's get into it. The low price is not false advertisement. The food here is actually all super cheap. You can get the advertised 5 for $9.99, or upgrade to cheeseburgers for 5 for 12.99. You can also get a bag of fries for a couple dollars, and other miscellaneous items for cheap. It kinda reminds me of mom & pop burger spots like Classic burgers of Los Gatos, or Happy Hound, but much cheaper. The quality of the food is admittedly not great, but it's not terrible either. I'd compare the burgers to McDonald's. They're about as big as a McDonald's cheeseburger (so not very big), but they taste a lot better. They remind me of a backyard cookout burger, the patty has a smoky grilled flavor to it, and they slather relish on it, which tastes pretty good imo. The fries here were trash, I wouldn't order them again. In regards to venue and ambiance, there's a small outdoor seating area with tables/benches with umbrellas. Parking is OK, just don't miss the turn! Looking back, Burger Bar sells really cheap burgers that are actually not that bad. It's cheaper than most fast food spots, and arguably better. Enough talk. Yelp
I love this place I've been going to this place since the late 80s when my mother used to walk us everywhere I love their burgers the tacos one of the best grilled cheese I ever had I love the fries I love the variety I hope it never goes away now I have fun memories with my kids and one day with my grandkids

Yelp
For the price just about the best burger you can get! Fast service , and good food. Would definitely recommend

Yelp
Family review ehhh me I loved the cheeseburger without relish! Yum overall my family didn't reallly like while me I rate it a 3.5 stars

Yelp
Amazing burger amazing fries and an even better price. If u want a good tasting meal but don't want to break the bank burger bar got u.

Yelp
I thought this place is going to be terrible but oh man, I was so wrong. After years of riding the bus pass here or just driving by I finally got a chance to have a look myself. Turns out the food is not too bad. I was thinking of getting a burger or food item that doesn't fill me well but I was wrong again. Normally when I think of burgers, I am like "hey don't forget the fries" but not here because half a burger along with some snacks are strangely very filling. This place is a Santa Clara County treasure so please try it at least once if you live in the county. Service is a bit slower than chain burger joints but quicker than In N Out. So that's a plus there. Drawback: Due to the age of this joint, please use the bathroom beforehand otherwise it will be super tough here.

EyeFone 7.

Yelp
Solid fast food. You order, they make it, you get it. No frills no thrills. Obviously this isn't gourmet food but for the prices you CANT beat a place like this!! Been coming here for YEARS and will continue to do so
google avatar

Griselda J.

Yelp
been living here 40 years and never been here, came here for the first time today with my wife and spent $50+ with tip and they forgot 2 of my items AND my chilli fries. The funniest part of all? there was a person next to me at the pickup line who was only there because they forgot 2 of his items too and I still forgot to double check my food lol so please check your food
google avatar

CeeLo L.

Yelp
I don't know what's going on with some y'all bitchin that a $3.50 burger is not Michelin star quality. You can't beat the prices and ample parking. This is a solid cheap burger hangout.
google avatar

Devina P.

Yelp
This place always slaps! Aside from being an iconic location in SJ it brings out the retro vibes. Hope this place can stay around it's definitely an underrated spot!!
google avatar

Kevin P.

Yelp
Parking is great. Only downside is be careful if you have a lowered vehicle, there's a double dipped gap going in and out. Not sure why they closed the entrance on Monterey. Food is fresh to made. The fries are LITERALLY like in and outs except you get much much more. The colossal burger is COLOSSAL. No joke. It might be the biggest burger I've had in a very long time for just $10. If I'm guessing, id say it's 6-7 inches in diameter. Very very filling. Also got the bag of cheeseburgers. Tastes exactly like McDonald's dollar menu except made fresh and probably better ingredients. As of 2021, they were 5 for $12. Are you going to get a gourmet styled burger? Definitely not. Are you going to get as if you were going to a cookout? Absolutely. Protect this hidden San Jose gem!

Benny V.

Yelp
Burger Bar steak sandwiches are fire! And their shakes are delicious I been eating here for decades and never tried one til today definitely a go to from now on! Oh and the soggy fries and chili beans are great!
google avatar

Jr J.

Yelp
Haven't had this place in ten years, the 5 burger deal got alot smaller and the fries are this and soggy, food was ok. I don't blame the restaurant for the quality going down but most likely won't eat here again.

Bob V.

Yelp
I've been going to the Burger Bar since the late 60's. Their BBQ steak burger and fries wow add a cold Coke and your set. Fantastic.
google avatar

Arjay A.

Yelp
A truly traditional "mom-and-pop" at the corner of neighbouring streets with a large parking on the side. This historic gastronomical experiential 'take-out' has to be on everyone's bucket list. It is a must! Just like Los Angeles famous Pink's Hot Dogs! Now, that's what you call a legacy!

James V.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The bag of burgers is the way to go if you got a good appetite. The fries too! This is now my to go spot bye bye in and out!

Yelp
"Like an Old A&W Hamburger Stand--Just Needs Richie and the Fonz." While I was waiting for the beer pub to open, I looked for a burger place, and found this one close by. There's plenty of parking in the rear. One orders at one window, and picks up at another. My order was taken quickly and delivered quickly. Perhaps the best feature of this little restaurant is the cheap prices. I ordered a deluxe burger and a chocolate shake and it was about $8. The burger was actually very tasty. The chocolate shake was typical-- like a McDonald's shake. For some reason, this place reminds me of those old A&W food shacks. Very spartan. I did not feel comfortable sitting in their little seating area. I wanted to keep an eye on my car, which had my bike in it. While I was eating, one of those people with the signs pleading for money came up to order. While waiting for his order to be delivered, he asked me for money. This happens to me a lot. I have a face that just screams, "gullible." On the other hand you have to hand it to him--he's making efficient use of his time. His sign said that he needed a few thousand dollars for a car. I wasn't sure what make or model of car he was looking for. The sign did not specify. I'm pretty sure he wants a convertible. So just an okay visit overall. Decent food but terrible location. If you see the guy with the need-money-for-car sign, tell him I said hello. And ask him what kind of car he wants.

David A.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and have always enjoyed their bacon cheeseburger. The chili cheese fries are a meal on their own. Got the bag of burgers once and although good, I'd see if I could get mustard and dill pickle instead of mayo with relish. Service for me was always nice and friendly. Got the food in a reasonable amount of time for what I order. Others have compared this place to McDonald's but for me this spot is more comparable to In-N-Out.
google avatar

Yan L.

Yelp
So I ordered to go from here and got a 1/2 pound burger which my mom really enjoyed. I got myself 3 chicken sandwiches which were just regular dry patties nothing interesting or good. And then the chili bean fries which were very good. I expected more from the chicken burgers like they have at chic fil a but otherwise everything else was good. I especially liked the chili fries but it upset my stomach (like most chili will after ). Overall very good burgers I would stay away from the chicken burgers though as it's not worth the money.

Yelp
(THIS REVIEW WAS WRITTEN PRIOR TO THE SHELTER-IN-PLACE ORDER BY THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY HEALTH OFFICER.) Once a burger joint enthusiast, always a burger joint enthusiast. Burger Bar in South San Jose has got me hooked on its food selection. Great stuff and a solid recommendation! I got myself a Deluxe Cheeseburger ($4), a Taco ($2.30), and a Churro ($2.50). The churro is requested with the jam filling. The Deluxe Cheeseburger is a burger that has a well-done beef patty topped with lettuce, onions, relish, mayo, and American cheese. Love how every ingredient worked together, without one being too dominant over the other. Very tasty! This is definitely the item to get, and the price is appropriate for the portion size. Hard tacos are my guilty pleasure food. I can speak on the tacos here being tasty. Same explanation as the cheeseburger: great combination of ingredients and worth it for its size. I can taste the juiciness of the fried beef and the crunch of the tortilla shell is present. It might not be listed clearly on the menu, but the Churro is a food item you can get here, and I have a lot of great things to say about it. It's crunchy, it's sweet, it's got delicious jam inside, and it made me smile. It was smaller than I had imagined it to be, but it was tasty nonetheless. Ten minutes for my entire order with only one person in front of me. Good outdoors seating. Friendly staff. Extremely hard to access the parking lot at night for some reason, so come during an afternoon. The parking is a breeze. If you need yourself a good burger (or a good taco or churro), Burger Bar will satisfy that craving like no other. I am glad I took the time to visit the place while I had the chance to. Sure enough, I can hold these relics of the past to heart knowing they will continue to hold up for decades to come.

Yelp
You get what you pay for. I would recommend coming here once to at least try it for yourself because it might have been an off day for them. The deluxe burger, the colossal burger, and the chili cheese fries were dry, but looks good and tastes good. Just dry af. I think it's because the buns and the meat and the fries were dry, so the sauces and the veggies couldn't compensate. Those tasted like the food wasn't made with love, if that makes any sense. The colossal burger was definitely colossal in size. The deluxe burger was average size for a burger and out of the two, I think the deluxe burger was better tasting and definitely easier to hold. I tried the banana milkshake and the chocolate milkshake and both were huge and came with a cherry on top. The banana one had a thick consistency and tasted like bananas, but there was something off about them. Maybe not real bananas? The chocolate shake was thick too and was the best thing I got, so I definitely recommend getting this. Super nice customer service. I ask for knives, forks, and napkins and got plenty. The whole order came out to be $30 for 2 burgers, chili fries, and 2 milkshakes.
google avatar

Antonio S.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but I was practically dying of hunger so I popped in. The definition of a hole-in-the-wall. I got the regular hamburger and wow... there are no words. A classic burger done right. Crisp bun, juicy patty, stuffed with all the essentials (ketchup, shredded lettuce, tomato, and pickles). There's about a million options available between the menu board and wall full of specials, so it can get a little overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong. Not much else to say besides go see for yourself! You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
The Burger Bar sits under a 16-foot sign: "BURGERS 5for$7.99". They update the sign periodically to reflect the current value of a burger. Turns out, if you are a smart sign-painter, you can figure out how to turn a 5 into a 6 without making it too obvious. So, I see the value of a burger going up by about 15% a year and I'm always looking to diversify my investment portfolio. Step aside, NFTs. My first questions was "Is this real?" The answer is yes. I ordered 5 burgers at the window and was charged 7.99 plus tax. My second question was "Are these burgers tiny?" The answer is no. They are normal-sized burgers. Standard potato bun. My last question was "Why are the chairs sticky?" The answer is complicated, like NFTs and blockchain. As it turns out, the delivery of the burger commodity is the catch. If you're hungry, you might think you could just sit down and eat them, but I tried that and lost my appetite after 1 burger. In case you want to know what's in the burger: it's a potato bun, slathered in mayonnaise and THEN fried, so the mayo is fried onto the bun. Then between the bun slices there's a cardboard coaster. At one point a vagrant walked by and asked if I could spare some food. And man, I have never been more objectively able to spare some food.

Yelp
I know what you're thinking.... 5 stars!?! WHY? Let me be clear, this was NOT a good meal. I gave this place 5 stars because I'm crazy. I believe that any place with a 5 star rating from someone I trust MUST be tried. Why? I can say with confidence and no hyperbole that these were the worst fries I've ever had. This include the like of grade school cafeteria food in the 80s, shitty crinkle cuts from carnival food stands, and even just some sliced russets that I sprinkled with oil and salt and left in the toaster oven for 20 mins. I It would be difficult to exaggerate how bad these were. They were DARK brown (bad sign) and almost impossibly greasy and yet somehow UNDERCOOKED. Boy did I regret getting the family sized order. I ate about 12 of them and still regret it six days later. Like, I hate myself for each one consumed. So why the 5 stars?? I really believe that if you love either burgers or fries you should try the worst. You'll have a new appreciation for the quality of your favs and even the ones you openly criticized for YEARS like In n Out. I would've committed unthinkable crimes to get my hands on some shitty In n Out fries that day. Also, the burger was really a crime. My 10 yr old said it's the worst he's ever had and he included school lunch in that. The texture of the "beef" was unexplainable. It had very little taste or browning. I left hungry and confused and went to a friend's house for a cup of instant lunch. Five stars!!

Yelp
Complete waste of $20. Food old, re-heated and inedible. Asked for catchup and got hot sauce. NEVER again.

Memo S.

Yelp
My mom and dad had their first date here in 1960. He STILL takes her there once a month for a burger because he says it tastes the same. This place is old San Jose history . Glad it's still There and so happy that my 81 year old parents are still able to go.

Yelp
The remodeled the place which is nice I guess it's called burger corner ? AKA Burger Bar The service sucks the young gal long nails and red hair that helped me has no customer service skills at all . Ignore me for a few minutes then he acted like I was bothering her . From what I hear la Victoria owns it for a few years now/ I know I he place can have interesting characters coming around . But I sure there people that would love to have that job that cares . I've been coming to this spot since 1980 .. last time

Yelp
Oh, my pineapple milkshake. How do I describe thee? Rich, smooth, pineapple-y, creamy... It's beyond delicious. It was so delicious that when my boyfriend and I (mostly me) finished the first one, I seriously went back for a second. That's just... Unprecedented, especially for me. It was that good. The nachos were cafeteria-style nachos, with the cheese sauce, and if you're into that kinda thing, they'll do. The burgers were tiny but good, according to my boyfriend, and you can buy a bag of burgers (5 in the bag) for $9.99 or a bag of cheeseburgers for $12.99. So it's the kind of place you could kind of stretch your dollar at. Although, that milkshake was like $6 and some change--but all the way worth it! I loved the delicious creamy flavor. The guy at the counter was friendly enough and did the damn thing when it came to those milkshakes, so that's all I really cared about. Seating is a humble outdoor spread with concrete seats and tables. On a sunny day, it's perfect. On a not-so-sunny day, I would imagine not so much. Either way, any day is a perfect day for that pineapple milkshake--so stop by!

Yelp
It's exactly what you'd expect! Living in San Jose and having driven by Burger Bar so many times, my partner and I wanted to try it out. They're known for the bag of burgers, which is a great deal if you're hankering for a bunch of burgers! The chili cheese fries were solid, though I would've wanted crispy fries instead of limp ones. The fries and hot dog were good as well, though condiments on the side instead of on the hot dog would've been nice. Definitely an SJ staple, but not somewhere I'm dying to go back to.

Yelp
This burger spot has been in operation since 1953, so I had to give it a shot. The food came out quickly and the ordering process was set up well. The fries had an ok taste, but they needed more time in the frier. They were still very floppy and undercooked. The burger was a bit better. I got the bacon cheeseburger, which was small but decently tasty. It's a solid classic burger taste. If I come back I'd probably try the bag of cheeseburgers and skip the fries.

Yelp
Cheap stuff, worth the dollars. I go for the BBQ Steak Sandwiches, best thing on the menu. Burgers are basic. The chili cheese fries are not good. Tasted like they're fried with the skin on.

Yelp
The food was ok, but also not horrible. The food I tried was a chicken sandwich and a cheese burger. They were ok and the relish did make them different but not delicious. The young lady that was taking our order also did not provide the best service. She didn't explain the menu and didn't ask if it was our first time there. She actually gave us a smirk when we ordered something incorrectly. It's an ok spot, but nothing of a landmark
