sure the burger and curly fries were great bUT THE BANANA PUDDING AND ONION RINGS ARE TRULY SENSATIONAL — even in toronto, where there are banana puddings galore (especially at burger / fast food joints), this HAS to be one of the best.
the banana pudding was OVERFLOWING with the perfect biscoff-y crumble, giving it a perfect crunch texture interspersed with a thick, creamy pudding. the pudding also wasn’t overly sweet or banana tasting; there were two layers, one with your classic custard and the other had a slightly more bitter, coffee-tasting dulce-espresso flavour that balanced everything out SO well. i might get judged harshly for this but dipping the fries / burger / onion rings in the banana pudding is definitely the move . i can’t explain it but trust me it’s so good.
the onion rings were also insanely crunchy and crispy with a thick batter, and just bursting with that sweet onion fragrance. they were huge, not too greasy, and tasted really fresh, and i’d definitely recommend them over the curly fries. the curly fries were crispy and seasoned well, but they definitely weren’t as hot and satisfying as the onion rings.
i tried the double cali pastrami burger, and it was pretty solid but definitely not the best burger in toronto. although, i will admit that these were some of the juiciEst smash patties i’ve had so far, at least in terms of the beefy flavour that just BURST out. i also enjoyed the savouriness and saltiness of the pastrami, it was quite flavourful, tender, and tasted pretty high quality. the lettuce and thousand island dressing gave it a refreshing, tangy contrast, but i found the cheese flavour a bit too salty and strong.
