"In a German marketing stunt the chain offered free Whoppers to Star Wars fans who agreed to read a spoiler of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker aloud, staging the ad in a restaurant covered in reveals to tempt participants. Marketing director Klaus Schmäing described the promotion as a challenge between people’s love for the Whopper and their devotion to the franchise, and even the “safe” version of the spot still suggested major characters would act against one another.
