Burger Lounge

We visited on a late Saturday afternoon. It was not crowded, so we got seated right away. The staff was friendly and professional, and the space was clean and tidy. We enjoyed our burgers and chicken sandwich and thoroughly basked in our memories of drinking from the glass bottled sodas 😅 . The fries were thankfully not overly salty. I would try this location again.

Delicious! First time ordering and it won't be my last. The food was hot, delicious and a great value for the portion size. I couldn't finish!

Very skeptical about eating chicken tender at places because it’s usually crusty and dry but this one?? It was nice and juicy. And it was shaped like a t-Rex?? 5 STARS. But really, the deals for an after work burger and beer is also amazing. Staff are so nice. Been here quite a few times, have not disappoint.

Tasted pretty good but was quite greasy. Too much bun for our liking. It was dog friendly though which we needed.

We were on our family vacation and happened upon this excellent burger joint. The staff is amazing and very attentive. They made the experience wonderful. The food was really great and we were delighted at the quality and flavors. This was a perfect place for a good, quick meal. I highly recommend it.

Mike greeted us with a smile and took our order, I had the western bacon cheeseburger and hubby had the original..we both got the 50/50 onion rings and fries which were perfect in size! My burger was delicious, the bacon was nice and crispy as were the onion rings on top. Hubby had a strawberry shake and Mike came an brought me the leftover is a little cup with whip cream so thoughtful and it was tasty! John refilled my drink and was very nice and attentive to us and what we needed (like extra napkins and ranch). We had a great time enjoying our food and surroundings. We would definitely go again and again because the burgers are fire 🔥!

My family had a fantastic experience at BURGER LOUNGE in Carlsbad, CA. Their HAPPY HOUR special 1/2 Off Chicken & Sides deal from 3-5pm on weekdays is a must-try. The food was incredibly delicious, especially the half and half combo of Onion Rings & Fries. The Grilled Chicken Deluxe sandwiches were flavorful and plump loaded with a super bounty of lettuce & tomatoes. The milkshakes were a real treat, being extra creamy and delicious. The friendly and efficient staff made the dining experience even better. Although they initially missed one of our sides, they more than made up for it with extra onion rings. Great service recovery! 👏 I would definitely give this place a Five Star ⭐️ review. Plus, its convenient location next to Costco just off Palomar Airport Road makes it even more accessible. Highly recommended!

OMG, where do I start. The customer service and food is exceptional. My sister and I wanted a good burger. What we received was an amazing burger. We quickly asked if they were local or had more locations out of state. If you're looking at expanding, please come to Houston, TX. Thank you for a great experience while visiting San Diego.

So burger lounge for me is a stop before or after Costco it's in the same center and it's a good walk either two or from Costco. I've been coming to the burger lounge for about eight years and I've seen it drop in popularity I guess, but I really think it's because the prices have gotten Much higher than any other semi fast food restaurant. Today the burger was great. The service was smiling young kid at the front desk who came over twice while I was eating to make sure everything was good... So it's not the food or the service I think it's truly the prices. It's too bad because it's a really good spot and I will continue to encourage people to try it and I told the management today to look at their prices and see if there is an way to do a two for one day to do buy one get a free soda. Something just to make it affordable for people and families in this time that we're living. It's all I've got.

The food is very tasty . The burgers are grass fed beef. They also have Turkey Burger, wild Alaskan cod sandwich, chicken sandwich ,chicken tenders , plant based burgers and Paleo Burger and salads. Shakes, floats and sodas.Their fries and Onion rings are really delicious. They bring your order to your ya le and service is great. They have Indoor and outdoor seating , clean and nice atmosphere.

I feel like this location has improved its customer service, communication and order speed so much! After taking a break from visiting, we were so happy with our most recent experience! John and the assistant manager were a well-oiled machine, working in sync to provide an awesome meal and offering timely updates from the kitchen. John is so friendly, communicative, knowledgeable about menu items, and a hard worker who truly cares! They were so thorough in ensuring our order was correct, double checking there were no missing items, and making sure we had all the extras we needed to enjoy our meal! Often times in prior visits we would have to remind staff to include the fun ice cream and organic apple juice that comes along with the kid's meal (you can imagine the disappointment the kids would have when you arrive home realizing those items were missing) I feel way more confident now and trusting that when we order from here we will receive an accurate order. I love burger lounge!! This review is long overdue. This is one of our frequent stops when we're driving to/from SD and the OC. I love the quality of the food here. What brought me in was the number of healthier options they have to choose from. One of the first times I came here was when I was pregnant and had gestational diabetes. My diet options were limited, especially when I was on the go! I appreciated the fact that I had so many options to choose from and every time I've gotten something from here it was absolutely delicious. They have your standard burger and fry options as well so there's something for everyone. I also appreciate that I know I'm going to just get a good quality meal from this place. Since we found this spot we always stop here if we're in the area. The inside is always clean and staff/service has always been great. Can't recommend this place enough!!

After Legoland with my son this is the best spot! Great food, friendly staff, just the perfect vibe.

Ordered the California Lounge Burger with no cheese. Provided plenty of napkins which was appreciated. The burger is so huge that you don't even need to order fries. Really delicious and exactly what I wanted. I enjoy their Turkey burger as well.

Used to love Burger Lounge so so much when I lived in Cali. And I will forever keep a place for it in my heart but my experience this go around wasn't as good as I remember. I asked for 2 burger patties and some avocado. I got just that but I asked for rare burgers and that they were NOT... And the avocado was totally overpowered by the lemon they put in it (to make sure it doesn't oxidize as quickly?). I mean, don't get me wrong, I could have absolutely eaten 6 burgers, without blinking, but I just kind of felt like this meal fell short of my expectations. My husband agreed with me. He wolfed his food down, but he told me it wasn't as good as he remembers. Womp Womp. Thank goodness that despite serving up "fancy" non soda sodas... They have Diet Coke on tap, or else my husband would have been sad. IYKYK

Happened to be in the area and decided to come here with my wife and her mother since they love their burgers, and are always keen to try new burger places wherever they may be. As for me, I don't eat burgers, but noticed that they had some other yummy looking options, so here we came. So, I am not really into fast foods these days, but since it was a "cheat" day, I thought we could try this place out since it wasn't your typical fast food franchise joint, but instead, had a nice, spacious, clean, modern, and casual setting with some outdoor patio tables just outside. Service was friendly, very helpful, and pleasant....I'd say, nicer and more personanable service than any fast food place I'd ever been to. Anyway, my wife and her mother ordered the Lounge Burger with Swiss cheese, and one with raw onions and the other with grilled. I went ahead and ordered an Alaskan Cod Sandwich. For sides, we ordered a large onion rings and French fries, and a 5-piece Chicken Tenders (plant based). What we really liked was that they are willing to "customize" our orders to our liking without any restrictions.....like no added salt on the burger patties and cod, unsalted fries, all sauces on the side, etc. To cut a long story short, my wife and her mother loved their burgers and said that they were very good! My cod sandwich was good too....hot, fresh, and yummy, but the size was much smaller than what I thought it would be, as were the burgers......at this price, I had expected bigger.... more American sized.... portions, but other than that, the quality was definitely there. The onion rings were a bit over-fried, but still crunchy and not too bad when dipped in ketchup. What surprised me the most though, were the plant based chicken tenders...also highly recommended by the young lady who took our order. They looked like chicken and tasted like chicken.....juicy, tender, and tasted really good! Had no one told me they were plant based, I would never have known, and, in fact, I thought they actually tasted better than real chicken meat tenders! Overall, a very pleasant lunch experience here.....especially since we were here very early when there was no crowd, so it was nice and quiet for us to enjoy our meal.

We used to eat at the Burger Lounge in the Flower Hill shopping center in Del Mar pretty frequently. We loved it. We decided to give this location a try tonight and it did not compare to the other location at all. Our burgers were soggy, bland, lacked any flavor, the fries were hard, tasted like pure vegetable oil and tastes really old. The onion rings were the only thing that we ate that were okay. Definitely will not be back to this location.

Nicer (and more expensive) fast casual burger place. Order at the counter, get a number and they bring your food to your table. They have some new specials available (truffle Swiss mushroom burger, hatch Chile and crispy queso burger with guacamole, bleu cheese bacon burger) all at $13.95. I also like their paleo burger. Also some good chicken and fish options if you don't want beef. 1/2 and 1/2 fries and onion rings are solid. They have a good house ranch. Some fun soda options and unique lemonades (hibiscus or lavender). Hibiscus was too watered down for me but I like the root beer. You also get free refills if you bring your cup up to the counter or catch a server. Good for a nice, but pricier lunch after or before Costco (same parking lot). Chicken sandwich, burger, 2 drinks and shared 1/2 and 1/2 was about $40.

This review is solely for the malt milkshake. The malt milkshake was exceptional. I had a chocolate one. This is what I expect them. Milkshake to taste like I had to get this one a perfect 10 out of 10. The chocolate flavor the milk. Everything is just amazing. Service was great. I don't know the guys name but he had just got in, wonderful attitude.

I was served by a very kind person who explained everything well to me and I was completely taken with McDonald's. She explained the entire menu to me very well. Regards, Emely, you are an excellent worker. and very well place I love it

Thursday at around 12 PM, I go there and trying to use the promo I received on my phone says $5 deal. The cashier tells me that it's between 2 PM - 5 PM so they couldn't offer the promo I received. I showed her the photo, it doesn't say anything about 2 PM - 5 PM but just "Before 5 PM" She still insists I needed to come back in between 2 PM - 5 PM in order for me to take an advantage of that offer. So I searched online for Carlsbad location's special deal, it shows between 10:30 AM - 5 PM. She doesn't even know the deal, the manager needs to train the employees at that location better. I went to another location and took my promo without issues. It was at around 12 PM as well.

Why why why can't this place get it together?! Once in awhile it's good but the in between times it's very bad!! Just came in for an early dinner, only 3 people at tables and it took over 20 minutes to get our food.. and the food was just terrible! Dried out burgers, tiny dried out pieces of French fries and a root beer float with a small spoonful of ice cream.. ugh, we won't be back... serving left over lunch food at 4:30 is not only Lazy but it tells the story of what's going on in the back! Changed the fry oil lately?.. how old is that meat patty?.. bad lettuce?.. no thanks! Also how dumb is it that they force you to leave a tip before you even get your food?! This just adds to the lazy attitude.. we already got our tip now serve the bad food! And the lowest tip choice is 18%... management please get involved!!

Food is bland, sauce is the only thing saving their burgers. Would recommend islands down the street instead if you're craving a burger

Lunch with husband and two under 3. Wild success. First, service was lovely. They brought over a little sweet treat for kids, which was very much appreciated and made us feel like much less of an imposition (which can sometimes be the case for any restaurant, though that may just be parental anxiety talking). We thoroughly enjoyed the truffle mushroom Swiss burger. Juicy, not too truffley, satisfying bites of mushroom. Would definitely order it again. Wild alaskan cod sandwich was also good. I didn't get to eat any fries because my children don't save food they enjoy. They must've been delicious. Thanks for the great meal!

Really like this place. The staff here is always very nice and helpful. They have gluten free buns so you can customize any burger. Also, kids eat free on Tuesdays which is a great deal.

Burgers were very good. It's not a sit down restaurant. You have to order at the counter, then sit and wait to be called to pick up your order. Also, the food is a bit pricey for not being a sit down restaurant, but it is Carlsbad, so it's kind of expected. I would come back though.

My kids love this place so we gave it another chance, honestly it's a good place! We leave satisfied and will be coming back.

I enjoy eating here, but a few weeks ago both of my kids got milkshakes that had hard plastic pieces inside. Lots of them and they ingested some before it was discovered. I emailed their company and was offered a refund for the shakes. I felt like they could have done more, but accepted the offer and provided the payment information so the card could be refunded. I waited over two weeks and no refund so contacted company again and then again with zero response. It makes it hard for me to want to return.

The only place I will get a burger because it is grass fed and well seasoned. The staff is friendly. The new lady there is sometimes friendly and sometimes lack of patience. You gotta catch her on a good day. It's nice to sit in and eat there but sometimes it's too cold in there for me

I almost feel bad writing this review, but just giving a heads up to people who value their time. I placed an order online and arrived at my pick up time. I check in and they say it's almost ready. I wait another 10 minutes and go check in again. A woman says there's 2 more orders in front of mine. Ok, how much longer? It's only two more orders so 7-10 more minutes. lol. So if you want your burger to take 45 minutes to make and not be ready even near the time they stated then go. Otherwise the long ass line at in n out will be a million times faster. Waste of time.

Hubby and I were visiting the Escondido area for the weekend wanted a quick bite to eat so we decided to try Burger Lounge. We have had it before but not this particular location. I ordered a turkey burger and it was superb!! Hubby ordered a burger but is very picky and had to have it re-cooked twice. Mike was excellent in regard to this and made sure my husband's burger order was correct. We greatly appreciate his patience and hospitality. Also, the Shirley Temple's are amazing. A must try!! I sure do wish there was a Burger Lounge in Rancho Cucamonga near me.

Not. Worth. It. 55 bucks for two people getting a burger, fries, and a soda is too much. Especially fits a place where you order at a kiosk or the counter. The burgers are actually pretty decent, but they are just not worth the price. Not even close.

This location is consistently great! I placed a pickup order but got held up at an appointment and arrived two hours late. Even though it was completely on me, they kindly offered to give me fresh french fries. They didn't have to, but it really showed how much they care. :)

They have vegan options but they are a bit lack luster. It's cool that a couple of their dressings are vegan by default and that they also carry nuggets (vegan products are impossible foods), but they are just OK. The place itself is cool, there were many people so it's a popular, but with Veggie Grill next door, I would pick that for a vegan burger instead (and even then, there's only a few items that hit there too). All the omnivores that are with me loved their food. Two are locals and said they at least eat there once a month. SD has so many vegan gems worth exploring. Happy Munchies, @aVeganAndHer

Ordered online around 1pm on a weekday and food was ready on time. Nice staff and good service. I got The Husky with gluten-free bun and avocado and vegan cheese without onions. It was delicious! Exactly what I needed today. The restaurant was busy but not crowded. It's clean, and I found parking quickly. I like how airy and sunny this place is. Good, reliable, go-to burger place

Burgers are so delicious here, Staff are very kind and friendly. Recommend this place for sure, you will not be disappointed. Very inviting , not a long wait time for our food.

Friendly service and good burgers that remind me of a higher quality, less greasy Smash Burger. Fries looked good but I skipped them on this visit. Looking forward to coming back and trying the other burgers in the menu.

Shout out to the outgoing staff here! Let's be clear: I don't think I've ever been to a Burger Lounge location where the employees didn't go ABOVE AND BEYOND. This location wasn't any different. I submitted an online order for lunch before I realized just how CRAZY traffic was- but by then, it was already too late. Order was placed... card was charged online... I HAD to commit. I called the restaurant to see if they could delay making my order- and the staff assured me (in the absolute nicest way possible) they would take care of it. Awesome. I showed up and they had JUST begun making my order- to guarantee it would be fresh by the time I made my way back to work. Although this area gets crazy busy during lunch hour on a Friday (I know, what was I thinking???)- I was lucky enough to find parking. The staff was just as amazing in-person as they were over the phone. (No surprise there.) They packed up my food with all the necessary utensils/napkins and handed it over with a huge smile. I got the Daily Greens salad with an added turkey patty. DELICIOUS. My coworker got the double S.O.B (Son of a Butcher) Burger with fries/onion rings and the Caramel Pretzel Milkshake. He said it was all "SO GOOD". The restaurant wasn't packed, but the atmosphere was chill with super friendly service. I would definitely come back here- just NOT on a Traffic-Friday. Not as good as the Del Mar location. Burgers lack salt and flavor and fries are usually soggy. Strange how Del Mar is so much better.

Very overpriced for what it is. The fries are excellent but that's about it. Burgers are a la carte, so you're basically running $20 a person to eat a "high quality" burger. I ordered the Alaskan cod and it was swimming with plenty of room in my bun, maybe as much room as it had in Alaska. It tasted fine, but man, this was not worth the price.

Food is good. Service is good. Ambience is also good. Cleanliness is also not only in the dining area but inside the rest room too ( well at least when I came to visit it is ) It was on the weekend and pretty busy but waiting time is not too long. I will comeback again! PS : no matter what is your diet/lifestyle choices, they cater too all! VERY INCLUSIVE :) Oh, and the hibiscus lemon is okay, but I don't really care about it. I care about the food quality. The cook with beard was wearing hair net which is good but the ladies who back and forth in the kitchen doesn't wear no hair net. I just also noticed the cashier girl makes drink but also handles the register. I'm not sure if she wash her hands before making all drinks but at least I didn't see her prep the food. So far so good, I will come back and will try more! Post eating : I feel good no after taste no feeling greasy & yucky. Clean & no Bloating. Good sign! I found a good spot to eat BURGER even if I don't eat meat, I can still have plenty of options.

Gone downhill in quality the burger used to be the tastiest thing around it was all about the meat. Now the meat has no flavor, the burger just tastes like the fixings. Too much of a premium for a mediocre burger. Fries and rings were very good but not enough to compensate for a bad expensive burger

10/10 turkey burger and French fries!! Probably one of the best burgers and fries I've had in a long time. They were both just perfect! I also got the lavender mint lemonade, which was refreshing. From the start, we were impressed right away with how clean the place was. The employee was also helpful and friendly when we had questions. We truly had the best dine in experience here!

Used to be great when it first started, then they changed how they prep and present the burgers. It lost something in expanding the menu and whatever was changed with the original menu prep. For the price of each burger (avg $10+), I expect more from their food. Fries were prepped Belgian style (double fried) with parsley and salt. Even that has changed, sadly. Used to be the place I'd go out of my way for when visiting the so cal area. Not anymore. Bummer.

Made visit to Burger Lounge Carlabad after a visit to the Flower Fields. Great place for a burger, albeit a bit pricey... but what isn't these days. Ample seating indoor and out. Menu has a good selection of gourmet burgers as well as a couple of beers. Of note on this location is the staff. All of them are very professional and polite. Special shout out to James... this young man hustles and yet follows up with the customer. He brought water to a customer's dog... yup a dog friendly place and set up an outdoor umbrella for shade for some customers. The food came out in reasonable time and was very good but nothing over the top. What I like about this place is the staff and this alone was over the top for me. Next time in Carlsbad, this the place to lounge around and have decent burger presented by a great crew.

Great place BUT, They lost me when they took out the lamb burger, literally only went for that. The services is great too, the attendants are very responsive and checkin even if you're outside. Music is usually good as well

I have been a loyal customer of Burger Lounge since their first restaurant opened in La Jolla, back when the owner's wife made giant, delicious cream filled chocolate cupcakes that looked like Hostess Cupcakes that were displayed by the register. Miss those cupcakes! Anyway, I had been a little turned off lately at the Carlsbad location for a few reasons, and last night's incident was the final straw. First, they hired a woman who would consistently do tasks rather than address customer's needs. On multiple occasions when I needed something she would say with a scoff that she would get it when she was done (she was restocking things). So we would sit and wait until our burgers were cold for the extra pickles we had ordered but didn't receive, or the straw, or the iced tea, etc. We started dreading seeing her because we knew it was always the same, customers last, her task first, how dare we ask her to do her job. Second issue has become cleanliness at this location. There is always an employee or two standing around while there are unacceptable levels of food pieces and trash under booths and tables that should be swept up, and booths and chairs that need wiping down. The bathrooms have been dirty as well the last few times. I said something to the manager the other day that the booth seat had men's dirty shoe prints on it and I wanted to sit there. A grown man had walked on the booth with his shoes leaving the prints. When I showed him, he didn't offer to wipe it down for me, Rather he said, "Huh", and walked away. I thought wow, this manager is not good. Third, last night there was a man who walked in with his dog on a leash, not a service animal, and not one employee told him he couldn't bring his dog inside the restaurant. He sat adjacent to the front registers and fed his dog from the table. It was completely unsanitary and illegal. Fourth problem was the fries we got the last two times were soft and undercooked...oily and bendy. They need to hire customer focused staff, management needs to address sanitation complaints immediately not go back to sitting down and looking at your paperwork, and all staff should be trained to tell people they cannot bring their dogs inside to eat at the table, and cooks need to be trained again on how to make your fries correctly.

Big fan of this place: the food quality, the taste, the affordability, the customer service. I've been to 3 locations now and I've had excellent experiences at this one and Costa Mesa; they are on point. The other location was so/so and I'm hoping that was a fluke.

Came in again the entire meal was on point MR Burger and hot fires. Nice job!!! I'll be back I'm already craving this meal again!

Omg deliciousness. My nephew introduced me to burger lounge. It's next to a vegan restaurant which I find super amusing (a vegan even yelled at us on the way in as we crossed paths to 'save the animals'- sorry bro). Definitely on the higher priced side when comparing to In and Out but the quality was great. Very fresh tasting, well seasoned, delicious. Fries are average. I tried a sip of my nephews chocolate shake and that was pretty great too. This will be my go to burger stop until Swagyu opens up in Oceanside.

Posers...This place used to be a legit burger restaurant, but like many failed restaurant concepts they started cutting corners so I stopped coming. I was enticed to try again with heavily discounted promotion. Something about their 2015 pricing, it came out to about a 30% discount. Even at the discounted price it's not worth the time or calories. Onion rings - used to be good...terrible. Under seasoned and breading falling off. Fries - used to season with parsley and double blanch - now they were soggy little stumps, no seasoning. Beef - used to have a sear and cooked to medium. This didn't have the umami or sear it should've. I looked into it more and their "grass fed" beef source and apparently they even permit gmo soy bean hulls to be fed to these "grass fed" cattle. Service - inaccurate orders and I had to convince them of their mistakes. This place has gone down hill for years and I only have myself to blame for falling for their gimmicks. The lie they tell about clean label, better for you ingredients, is just that. Tell them you have an allergy and look at the ingredients for yourself. In n out, Crispy burger, tanners, etc are all good burgers within 10 min of this place that offer better quality, service, and value.

Great burger and the best onion rings I have ever had. Not bug but cooked jut right. But pricey ( $29.00 for burger onion rings and a beer) but I will be back!

I really wanted to give this place a four bc the prices here are outrageous you can easily spend $40 for two combos but then again, like they say, you get what you pay for! I recommend if you're gonna spend on these burgers, eat them asap! If not they will not taste anywhere near the same. Do not order these to go and wait 30 mins, get Doordash delivery and expect greatness. It's just not logical bc of the freshness of their products. You will never get the great taste making it totally worth the price. We've ate at several locations! Our fav is the one in Hillcrest, just the taste was on point that day and the vibe is always good there in that city! The onion rings are delicious and I'm not the biggest burger person at all and I'm not the in and out kinda girl. Jus seriously hated these burgers to go. I got them for me and my lovie, drove them from Carlsbad to Oside, just literally disgusting, will never do it again haha. Some food really isn't meant to eat later. Oh and get a Shirley Temple, they made me obsessed with them. I love how they have beer too

Today was a sad day for burger lounge. Our order was completely wrong several times in trying to make it right. The food was kind of cold, burgers over cooked, and just didn't taste fresh at all. Luckily my daughter enjoyed her kids meal as we adults powered through. It will be a long time before I come back.

Turkey burger is fantastic! Best I've ever had. Served slightly charred, so it has a crunch to it. Wife had a mushroom swiss truffle burger and was astounded by it.
