Don’t know what was better here - the burgers and the garlic fries or the amazing ambiance in the middle of all the trees. I got the burger with bacon and my wife got the chicken burger and both were delicious and filling. The seating in the airy outdoors were absolutely refreshing and relaxing after a long day in the sunny beaches of Tahoe.

Perfect place for a delicious meal after a solid hike at emerald bayor if you just want to feel like you're celebrating with that kind of good, relaxed feeling. Sit outside and breathe in that air, have a burger, I had the heavenly which lived up to its name, with the combo. Creamy pesto fries and fresh sweet tea. And while we're at it, this tea was just as good as what I had in Arkansas and Kentucky. Highly recommend. I did do the quarter pound but it's normally half pound.

Line moves pretty fast. Food order came up around same time as the wait in line. Clean patio setting. Set amongst the trees. Peaceful setting with good music from speakers. Food...Amazing. burger was big and juicy

Food is soooo goood! First time to try here. So big serving for me, I could hardly finish my Tuna sandwich. And I can't stop picking the chicken wings, so delicious. I would come back here if ever we visit during the winter. Highly recommended!

Burger Lounge is so good!!!! There are a lot of options but by no means is it overwhelming. It makes you want one of everything. I had the heavenly bacon and avocado. It was delightful we had it to go this day but man the string fries are not what you think they are a nice size French fry golden to perfection! Although it’s a longer drive to get here the advertisement outside is 10000% true. Best Burger Spot in Tahoe!

Really good burger spot in South Lake Tahoe! Great choice of meat and vegetarian options, fast service, lots of space to seat. I totally loved my heavenly burger (soft, juicy, super filling) and my husband went with veggie Sticks & Twigs and also enjoyed it a lot. We set outdoor and indulged in food in shade of magnificent pine trees. What could be better? Prices were reasonable too so I definitely recommend to check out this place!

Very average (to below average) burgers. Good fries (ask for the dipping sauce), and not very pleasant service. The woman taking our order was annoyed by simple questions and short with her answers. The redeeming side is the nice large outdoor seating area in the trees.

We all arrived together, a large family group wi5 kids in tow. We ordered quickly and the food came fast. Wonderful patio dining with umbrellas and nice seating. The shakes were epic with fresh fruit and huge! The burgers were even bigger and there were so many choices. Vegan veggie burgers, chicken breast sandwiches, burgers done so many ways. A really impressive menu and since I am gluten and dairy free, lettuce wraps on any burger were a thrill. We will be back. Do not miss it. Note: My hubby has a severe shellfish allergy and we look for places with no shellfish on the menu. This place qualifies. What a find!

The burgers were pretty big. My daughter had the Knockout burger. She loved it, but her eyes were bigger than her stomach because she could only half of the double burger. I had the Smokehouse Burger. Also good, but a little undercooked for my taste. But then I never asked for well done. Went well with a beer. The outdoor atmosphere was nice for eating on a late June day.

Stopped in here about 15 minutes south of Emerald Bay, and it hit the spot. The burgers were huge and flavorful with thick, juicy patties. Fries were crispy and paired perfectly with a surprisingly good pesto dipping sauce. The milkshakes were super sweet--definitely on the indulgent side, but worth it. Prices were mid-range, around $20 per person for a full meal, which felt fair given the portion sizes. Food came out fast, which was great, though the staff wasn't particularly friendly or welcoming. The outdoor seating area was a big plus--plenty of space and a nice way to enjoy the mountain air. Overall, this place delivers where it counts: great burgers, tasty sides, and a laid-back atmosphere. Just don't expect standout service.

Ive given this place so many chances but no more I'm a 30 year local and this place has gone downhill ive usually ordered the lounge bird and have been very disappointed they over cook the very small chicken breast until its dry and tough like jerky Sooooo I decided I would try something different I decided on the Bella burger Turns out they screwed that up too They put way too much pesto sauce on it every time I took a bite it was a big mess sauce dripping all over my hands soggy bun A BIG MESS! And when I asked the cashier for napkins she acted like she really didn't want to give them to me I will not be going back ever I will spend my hard earned money elsewhere

Kinda my favorite Chill Burger spot after during a Bike ride. Quality burger at a competitive price. Service doesn't suck. A nice lounge style outdoor dining. You can grab a beer as well.

Food was OK. The hotdog was NOT something to write home about. The elk burger was much better. The fries were hot and very good. The service was good, and the location convenient. Seating outside was very nice under umbrellas. Very pricey, but consider where you are.

We were camping locally in Tahoe, and anyone familiar with the area wildlife will attest to have heard a particular bird, the black capped chickadee, sing "cheese burger". LOL. We heard this for days in the woods, and it finally stirred a craving that had to be satisfied...! We headed straight for the Burger Lounge on highway 89 aka Emerald Bay Road and were treated to a wonderful meal! It's a very popular place and has a nice patio area with umbrellas shading the tables and then a very large area out back for overflow seating under the shade of the tall Jeffrey pine trees. The lady who took our order was very pleasant and the food was made to order and cooked in short order. My wife enjoyed her "Heavenly burger" named after a local ski resort and I enjoyed my Cheese Deluxe burger with added sautéed onions and bacon and we both shared an order of beer batter dipped onion rings with ranch for dipping. Totally hit the spot and scratched the itch! After finishing that amazingness, we opted for a couple of chocolate shakes to sip as we drove back to our campsite. I will absolutely eat here again and highly suggest it! We took a nice nap when we got back from the amazing meal (and carb load) Enjoy!

My sister & I were driving around the lake last Sat 6/28 around 12pm when I started craving a Rootbeer Freeze. I found this place on Yelp, and it looked like it had potential. You walk up to the window, order, then the lady would YELL out your name on a LOUD speaker when your order's ready. I got a Rootbeer Freeze $5.95 but it really didn't taste much like rootbeer, more like ice cream. My sister got a Pepsi freeze $5.95, which she enjoyed. We shared an order of Fried Mushrooms $8.75, which were HOT crispy, and delicious. We also got an order of Pesto Fries $7.85 unfortunately the fries were not crispy at all, but tasted good with the Garlicky Pesto on top. We had to pay .85 each for Ranch Dressing & Creamy Pesto to dip our mushrooms & soggy fries in. They have a small inside eating area, but we chose to eat outside at one of the long picnic tables. We ended up sharing with others, which was fine.

Our friends took us to the Burger Lounge. A busy place on a Monday at 2 pm. They have inside and outside seating available. Also, there is a picnic area that has a nice shady area provided by the Redwood trees. The restrooms are outside behind the restaurant. No key is needed. Knockout: Two patties, two slices of Swiss cheese, two slices of bacon, and two onion rings (3.5/5). A good-sized burger. There is nothing on the burger. My wife and I split this. We felt it lacked some sauce like BBQ Sauce. The patties were a bit dry. Cherry Shake (3.5/5) - My wife didn't care for it. I thought it was decent. Our friends who had been here before, they ordered and split... Ground Lounge: 1/2 lb. beef burger served on a hot grilled sesame seed bun with mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onions (3/5). They felt the patty was a bit dry today vs the other times they came. Heavenly: Avocado, Cheddar cheese, and bacon (4/5). They enjoyed it a lot. We all split some onion rings (3.5/5), sweet potato fries (3/5), fried zucchini (3/5), and fried mushrooms (3/5). Our friends thought the side orders, that the portions were smaller than before.

The burgers used to be phenomenal here (2021)... now they're just okay. The size of the burgers decreased and the pineapples they added into some of the burgers shrank significantly. Used to drive 3hrs to go here, but after the last two trips, i think we'll search for a new place.

Drove up to Tahoe for the day. On my way back home, I spotted the Burger Lounge. The burgers here are cooked the way they are meant to be cooked! They do an excellent job with flame-grilled burgers. I ordered the Camino burger and a plain burger patty for my dog. In total $25.00. It's Tahoe and CA ; don't be surprised. Their burgers are worth the price. It was made correctly and it is by far the best burger I had in CA. Do yourself a favor and try it for yourself.

Came here for lunch after a hike around emerald bay. I got a shroomalicious burger and the mess fries. The mess fries has chili topped with cheddar cheeks and onions. The shroomalicious burger has grilled mushrooms, onions, and mozzarella. The parking can be challenging and we waited for about 10-15 minutes for the food after we ordered. There's seating inside and there's also a ton of outdoor seating. The staff calls out your name when your order is ready and you show your receipt. At least there's that kind of system and they are plenty busy. The food was underwhelming, especially the fries. The cheese was not melted at all and the chili was not good. It seemed like they just threw the ingredients on top of the fries separately and called it a day. The burger meat was kind of tough and not enough seasoning and flavor. I had to put ketchup on the burger just to get through it.

After a hike we stopped here to eat. Best stop of the day, the burgers were delicious better than most chain restaurants. The service was quick and the staff were friendly. Highly recommend, there is inside seating and outside seating to enjoy the view. Also got a shake before leaving and it was a great balance with the rest of our meal. Can't wait for our next Tahoe trip to return here!

This place gave me the worst food poisoning I've ever had from an undercooked burger. I knew while I was eating it that it was too raw, but my friend said it was a good place to eat. Fast forward to vomiting and GI distress for 48 hours. Not worth it, just eat elsewhere

This is a great burger joint located in South Lake Tahoe area. The generous half pound burgers are flame grilled and not greasy. My husband and I shared the burger and onion rings and were completely stuffed! The yummy onion rings are made from thick cut onions and are fried in beer batter to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed this cute little burger place. The outdoor seating was inviting and the service was friendly and fast.

Our go-to burger spot after a lake day! Extensive burger, sandwiches and hot dogs selection. The staff is always friendly and attentive. There's plenty of tables to sit at. I am sorry for the lack of pics (I was starving and forgot to take some). But honestly you won't be disappointed

The food and customer service was decent and they had very quick service( went on a Sunday). They have a cute eating area out back with the trees and they also have a patio eating area.

45 minutes before they closed on a Thursday evening, we ordered: 1. Heavenly Burger (no bun) - the patty was dry. My wife only ate the avocado, cheese, and bacon. 2. Little Tikes 1/4 lb Cheese Burger - my 4 year old daughter took a bite and wouldn't eat anymore. I tried it and the bun and patty were both dry. She finished the fries though because it's fries. 3. The Mess - the fries were not drowning in chili. The survivors ended up in the trash. 4. Cherry Shake - This was good, but not worth coming back for since the rest of the menu is a disappointment.

Ordered and register froze. Lady said she would redo order and call us up. 10 minutes later I went up and she said she was waiting for the line to die down to put it thru. Got receipt and waited. Many ordered, ate, and left. So we Went up to get our food. They did not even start it yet. burger was good, but service was crap! No apology either!

Put order in and gave receipt. 15 minutes later others got order, ate and left. We went back up and the didn't even have our order in the kitchen. Poor customer service and no apology!! Food was good so it gets 2 star

Decent burger. Everyone is really nice. The one at Myers used to be really really good. The burger is kind of lack flavor.

If you want a choice of burgers of all kinds and any kind of mixture of fries hit up the burger lounge. Not a huge place but works when you are rolling through and need something to eat. Buns could be of better quality or softer but overall was a good place. More of a smash burger idea!

This place has been our to go place for a long time. I used to say that this is the greatest burger place in South lake take but the quality has gone down a bit. They do have outdoor seating during the warmer months. I still recommend this place as the staff is still friendly and the service is good. But compared to what it was, it can be better now.

The burgers at this place are hugeee! I came to Lake Tahoe with my family and decided to come here for burgers. This place looks like one of those local restaurants that visitors dont really know, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered a burger for each of us and a shared fries up in the front. This place has both indoor and outdoor sitting area. Indoors the heater is on and super warm. Once the burgers were ready, I saw how huge they are! I'm glad i didnt order an extra one. Their burgers are delicious, with lots of sauce! They also have a variety of burgers to choose from. I would definitely come here again! Definitely recommend!

Service was top tier. Food was delicious and I'm a huge fan of kidney beans but even if your not, grab the chili fries! You'll thank me! Beautiful view during the drive there and looking outside.

This place has soo many burger varieties and combinations. They have some vegetarian options as well. The Hawaiian was okay, but soggy. The portions are hefty and the fries are crispy. The have outdoor seating in the back and portable bathrooms in the parking lot. Not the fanciest but fine if you're craving a burger near Tahoe.

The burger was pretty good, a little high on the fat content for me personally but fresh and tasty. The ambiance is actually decent as could be expected from a roadside burger stand. Service is the big markdown...,as in I probably won't go back. The line was lengthy but kitchen was pretty quick...the first sign. The second was when she asked my name for the order then promptly used something else. The third sign was truly another Bill Engvall sign... the iced tea she handed me was only about 2/3 full. The last and final straw was going to pick up my order to find that she hadn't entered my order correctly and I was short some fries. Honestly, you need to double check every single thing with this young lady. I cannot recommend this place for that reason.

I just got done hiking in Emerald Bay and was jonesing for a good burger. Burger Lounge is located a short drive from where I was so off I went. This was my second time here, but it's been a few years so I hoped my experience this time around would be better than the last. Alas, it was about the same. Just ok. Like last time, my burger was on the dry side and didn't have much seasoning to speak of. It was pretty big, though. So they certainly don't skimp on how much they give you. The political post at the door about mask wearing being unconstitutional was a bit off putting. Whether I agree or not, it's a boneheaded move on the part of owner. You're essentially alienating a good chunk of your potential customer base. Despite that, the burger was just ok. Nothing great, certainly not the best around, but ok.

Burger patty was dry and hard, bacon was as hard as a rock. Garlic fries were not even good. We were very disappointed with the food here. They have nice outdoor dog friendly seating but that's the only good thing I can say about it. Honestly I feel fast food big box burger chain burgers were even better than what we got here.

After a very physical day full of hiking and walking, we decided to grab burgers for an early dinner. At 5pm there wasn't much of a crowd. We were able to place our order and get our burgers fairly quick. It would be a sin to miss the milkshakes since they offer a gazillion flavors and the taste is pretty decent - the biggest flavor menu that I have seen anywhere. This coming from a milkshake aficionado, you have to take my word for it. We ordered the following, keeping in mind the burgers are huge and easily shareable: 1. El Camino 2. Santa Fe (Vegetarian) 3. Sticks & Twigs (Vegetarian) Shakes: Passionfruit, Caramel Bourbon, Nutella and Butterscotch. All were good, my personal favorite was Nutella. If you haven't yet, do give this family owned burger place a chance. For the reasonable prices and meal portions you won't be disappointed.

After a long day of hiking we decided burgers and a beer were in order! I tried Izzys last weekend so decided to try out this spot and was not dissapointed. They were out of Shock Top, which is what I wanted but am always open to trying local beer. Hazy Little Thing was tasty although I am not the biggest fan of IPA. We sat on the patio and the plants and flowers really created a nice relaxing atmosphere. The food came out quickly, and was SO good! We were starving and devoured pretty much everything. The burgers were on point, and the mushroom dipping sauce was delicious! I highly recommend this place and will return next time Im in Tahoe!

We rode our bikes here and ate outside, was nice and relaxing. My wife and daughter got burgers and liked them. I got the Chicken sand which with grilled pineapple which was very good. Good fries. They liked their milkshakes.

We all ordered different and none were great honestly. The chicken burger had a very rubbery consistency. Pretty gross. When we went up front to let them know, this employee gave an annoyed look and just said ok then do you want something else then? New burger (beef) undercooked and sub par lacking flavor. My Ortega chili burger was undercooked as well. Big, butand not much flavor. Also, prices on menu board is not correct to what rings up on register. Overheard someone ordering and complaining about it otherwise wouldn't have even known. We obviously wouldn't have minded paying the correct menu prices for everything if we were getting decent food, but that's not the case here. Happy to support Lake Tahoe community while we come here every year otherwise.

It was good. I hate to be a complainer and I know things have gotten expensive but for burgers was nearly $50. No fries nothing else just a little bag of burgers. Unfortunate I'm sure that's what they've got to charge to keep all the wheels turning. Food was good. I actually had a larger burger, which was probably worth the money. It wasn't that much more than the quarter pounders and tasty with the blue cheese.

I was underwhelmed by my experience here. My husband and I drove here with a car friend, and they got our friend's order wrong. He ordered a salmon burger and they gave him chicken. He was too polite to return it, so I don't know what their approach to making it right would have been, but with a modern POS system, there's no excuse for getting an order so wrong. There's not a lot of seating inside, and the outdoor seating is not shaded. The self-serve soda machine looked ancient. I found off-putting the tone of the signs on the bathroom warning people not to vandalize the property. I had such high hopes for this location. They have so many styles of burgers! They sell ice cream as well! But we did not have a great first experience. There are many places to get burgers in South Lake, and we'll be trying a different location next time.

first off the staff was extremely rude, had an attitude the whole time I had ordere, this place is ridiculousLu expensive for food with absolutely no flavor or seasonings, paid $87 for 3 burgers with fries i honestly couldn't even finish the food with how tasteless it was honestly the saddest burger spot I've been to with a horrible smell definitely will not be back

Love this place. Great burgers and fries. Leave stuffed every time. I also love that they have outside seating so we can bring the doggo either into the woods on the picnic benches or, when they hibernate for the winter, we can take him onto the patio. Service is fast and it has a great casual vibe.

This was our first time at Burger Lounge and it was GREAT! Location is ideal. It is on the side of the road. It is very easy to find. There is parking on site with a fair amount of spots. There are a variety of burger options, including vegan and vegetarian burgers. I bought the "sweetness burger" that came with a veggie patty and a grilled slice of pineapple on a wheat bread (I believe it was wheat). My husband bought the "Shroomalicious" burger. I really liked my burger, though I wish it had had some sort of protein in it. My husband said his burger was fine but he wishes the meat had had more flavor. We also bought cajun fries and they were very delicious. The fries were on the crunchier side (not soggy) with just the right amount of salt and cajun spice. I also bought a mango milkshake and it was SUPER DELICIOUS. It is a small place so there are not that many tables. However, there are a few tables outside. Although this place is on the side of the road, there is a nice little wall or separation made out of plants. It is beautiful. I am definitely coming back to this spot. I recommend the milkshakes (at least the mango one). Staff is friendly :) I cannot speak about the restrooms since we did not use them. Summary: RECOMMENDED!!

The onion rings were delicious and came with their own dipping sauce. The fried mushrooms were my favorite, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. We ordered a burger and side salad (which was basic but just what was needed to balance out the fried foods). All for $40 we fed a family of three. Beautiful outdoor seating with quick service on a Friday evening. .

We were starving after our nice hike at Cascade Falls in beautiful South Lake Tahoe. Otw we had seen the huge sign of Burger Lounge. You definitely can't miss it. So we figured, why not otw back. It was a nice day with the sun blaring as we waited in line with other hungry patrons. The menu had some funny names & some adult humor. You'll have to see for yourself. Had Great service! The gentleman taking our order behind the counter seemed friendly, knowledgeable & had a sense of humor. It's self-seating, indoor or outdoor. Outdoor seating had plenty of space especially for our party of 7. Chatting amongst our group & listening to the jams playing in the background had us reminiscing about old times as we anxiously waited for our orders to be called. They have burgers, veggie burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, hot dogs, wings, lots of sides, dessert, a ginormous line-up of different flavored shakes & kid friendly meals available too. They serve Beer! Food was Fantastic!! Everyone loved their burgers! We came back the next day & we all got yummy shakes :)

Save your time, stomach and money and find another burger place. Our burgers were over cooked, dry, and flavorless. All of the buns from the hamburgers to the hot dog were dry and thin. My son got a hot dog that received a major thumbs down by us all. I ordered the garlic fries and they also had no flavor. Service was poor and the soda machine was out of 3 flavors and the root beer tasted more like water. I'm pretty sure the hamburger was not a 1/2 lb of meat either. I ordered the El Camino and my husband ordered the heavenly. My boys wouldn't touch their hamburger. I came based on other yelp reviews I had high hopes but this place severely under delivered.

Very expensive for what you're getting. Burgers were average and the soup tasted like any canned soup but triple the price you'd have paid buying it yourself. Would not recommend going here.
