Burger Nerds

Randomly discovered Burger Nerds this weekend and surprising liked it. The vibe here is cool, with regular tables and a little lounge area in the back. Plus we loved how they painted up the walls with characters from various video games. We were in a rush so only tried a few things The Chopped Chicken Wrap and a Classic Burger. The chicken wrap had perfectly marinated chicken with bell peppers and onions. And the classic burger was just a burger, but I loved how it was cooked a little charred on the outside, but keeping all the juices inside. For a quick bite to eat I recommend this place.

Not even gonna lie, this burger was WORTH IT. Had a double, beef patty was perfect, onions were on point, cheese was just the right amount of melty. I live in Lafayette and still think about that burger. Can't wait to get back. Great deco too if you are a retro kid raised in the 80s and 90s. Highly recommend checking them out, they are doing some good work!

Ran across them by accident looking for a lunch spot before taking fam to the airport after a fishing trip. Awesome creations, super friendly staff. Definitely a must if you’re in the area!!

Pretty nice place with a relatively laidback atmosphere. The Queso Burger was really good, but also really messy. Really good French fries. Being a small business, they may not have the capacity to do it now, but, in the future, it might be a good idea to consider redesigning the interior of the building. The place feels more like a dive bar than a burger restaurant. It might also be beneficial to put more items on the menu. There were only 3 or 4 burgers on the menu. Either way, I’ll definitely be coming back.

I’m always looking for a great burger. I found one here. Had the 1/2 lb. pub burger. It was cooked to perfection. We also had fries (very good) and Brussel sprouts (yuck!). My wife likes them, but I really don’t, but these were actually pretty good, I ate more than a few. This is not a fancy place, but it’s clean and spacious. And the food was great. I only have one criticism: everything (burgers, fries, alien miniature space cabbage) was somewhat over salted.

Burger nerds is about to be apart of my routine. Pair the meal with a sit down and friends or take it home to watch Andor. This burger and the loaded fries goes with anything.

Today was me and my son’s first time visiting this establishment. I was beyond impressed. The magicians in the kitchen did their thing! Food came out fast hot and bursting with flavor. I had the 2 classic burger, queso fries with a side of Brussel sprouts and 2 fountain drinks. I spent $46 dollars, it was worth it! The service was great, friendly and inviting staff. Will definitely be back…

Good smash burgers, ok fries and a great milk shake!! Server was busy but capable. Atmosphere seemed like it had seen better days but bright and cheery murals with video game content.

They cooked those half pound burgers perfectly , and it was pretty quick getting out to us. Service was also nice, 10/10 would recommend,

I've seen quite a few Instagram posts about Burger Nerds so when my SO suggested that for lunch on a Saturday I was excited to try it out. It's decorated in a fun and cute way with all the cartoon decorations. I ordered the single queso burger which was really good but TINY. We also got a large loaded fry to split that came with queso, nerd sauce and bacon. The fries were nice a crispy and the toppings were delicious. Our food came quickly and was delicious but it was pricy for what you get.

Burger was decent. Pros: fresh ingredients, good bun Cons: meat was dry Brussels: too much sauce, not enough crunch

Don't let the cute decor and fun playlist fool you! This restaurant is so poorly managed and hired the most incompetent staff they could find! Despite not being overly busy (there were two other tables when my husband and I arrived), the service provided was sub-par at best. We had to repeat our order more than once for it to still come out wrong! After waiting over half an hour for our order, I was brought the plant-based version of what I ordered. (Did the words "plant-based patties" come out of my mouth? Not once during any of times I repeated my order.) So we had to wait even longer for them to correct my order. And with how quickly they seemed to "correct" my order, I'm not convinced they even corrected it. (I wouldn't be surprised if they took the same burger but changed the wrapping, in all honesty.) The fries were also bland and mostly cold, so who knows how long they were sitting out in the kitchen. I know what you might be thinking. "There's so many 4 and 5 star reviews! The minimal number of 1 star reviews are just one-offs, right?" Well, I'll stop you right there and burst that bubble! The table next to us had multiple issues with their orders as well that the staff couldn't seem to quite fully correct. It's a shame that this place requires paying & tipping before the food is brought out. The food and service is definitely not worth the 20% I tipped.

Rating this compared to other non-chain burger restaurants. We go there every other week. Burger Nerds has a limited menu that they prepare well. Tasty burger selections. Regular fries are okay. Wish they had large steak fries or sweat potato fries. Loaded fries and brussel sprouts are good. Inviting to gamers. Wish they had iced tea. Operating this new restaurant on a shoestring, they're doing a good job. We typically bring our order home to eat. If you live near Maple Street and just want a great burger, I recommend.

Really really really great burgers! In my top 3 smash burgers of all time. Patties seasoned perfectly, cooked to order, served wrapped and ready to go. I really enjoyed the pub burger. My husband ordered the breakfast burger but ended up with a lovie burger, which was still delicious. They also forgot to make our brussel sprouts, but were very nice and made them to go for us Would definitely be back!! Also, the staff was very nice.

Knew about this place for a while and heard it was good. Speaking to someone at work who went to the Metairie location finally spurred me to try it. I went to the uptown location. The inside had decent amount of space. Loved all the cartoons on the wall had some Pokémon, ninja turtles, etc which was fun. Ordered one of the weekly special burgers the Lovie BBQ burger. I did the double, which was my coworkers reco and I'm glad I did cause I was as hungry and needed a bit more. Had bbq sauce, bacon, fried onion rings, jalapeños. How could that not be good. Also, split a loaded fry with my SO. Nice and small crispy fries with queso, nerd sauce, and bacon. Food came fast and I think the owner was the one to put our order in. Enjoyed our quick Saturday lunch here.

I came to order a special they had one day, the monte cristo! I'd never been to their uptown location. It's super cute inside. Definitely giving all the nerdy vibes. The monte cristo was very good and the strawberry dipping sauce was perfect. So filling tho. Could not finish it. I can't wait to visit and actually dine in.

I attended one of the soft opening days, so I can't say what this will be like in the long run, but I can tell you about my experience so far. Everyone was super friendly and fun when I walked in. There is a variety of seating - bar, hightop, lower/regular seating, and bench. I was there right as they were opening so I chose a lower (and more comfortable to me) seat with my book. Order at the counter: a can of Pepsi product, a cheeseburger, and the Brussels sprouts. I could give or take the Pepsi. The cheeseburger was flavorful, but not much difference between this any other smash-type burger with cheese. I was most looking forward to the Brussels sprouts, so that's my focus. They are "Flash-fried & tossed in house spicy vinegar, topped with okonomi BBQ sauce, Kewpie mayo, & shizo furikake, and finished with crispy shallots." Overall, the flavor was so delicious, but after eating some, the tartness just got to be too much. I didn't want to take home leftovers because they wouldn't have the crispness left after reheating, but it was hard to finish them because of the pucker power after eating about half. Overall, I'm excited to have them in the neighborhood. I can't wait until they do a full launch!

Stumbled upon Burger Nerds this weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The vibe is great--laid-back with standard tables up front and a cozy little lounge area tucked in the back. One of the coolest touches? The walls are decked out with colorful characters from a variety of video games--super fun and nostalgic. We were in a bit of a rush, so we only got to try a couple of items: the Chopped Chicken Wrap and a Classic Burger. The chicken wrap was a standout--tender, well-marinated chicken with sautéed bell peppers and onions that packed a lot of flavor. The classic burger was simple but done right--nicely charred on the outside while staying juicy on the inside. If you're looking for a solid spot to grab a quick, satisfying bite, I'd definitely recommend checking this place out.

First thing...I love the atmosphere of Burger Nerds! The place has some pretty cool artwork painted on the walls...the staff was very knowledgeable of the menu items, but I elected for the burger with the hot sausage patty. It was awesome! I will be back to try other ones on the menu!

My Husband and I got lunch here . The guy gave great service. The food was very good and tasty. The gentleman that brought our food out was very hospitable. The owner was so kind . He Thanked us for coming. There are a couple of Burger Nerds . You must try !!!!

It was my first visit so I always order my burger just as the chef prepares it. I had the single queso burger which had all sorts of stuff on it in addition to the Nerd sauce and the queso. I am not sure what it all was but it was delicious!!! We also had the Brussels sprouts and an order of fries. Both were excellent! The only criticism I would have is that they don't serve Coke products and they do need some more substantial napkins. The burger was awesome but it's juicy and skinny napkins don't do the trick. Still, the burger was great and I will definitely be back!

I love love love Burger Nerds. Became a loyal customer when they were a pop-up. The new store front in New Orleans is so fun. The theme is great. Won't ruin the surprise for you but definitely fits. The service was superior as always. My favorite thing about dining here is that they can feed everyone. My impossible burger was delicious and could be prepared the same way as the other burgers. I am so happy that I can go any time and not have to wait for the pop up!

Wow, High Quality Ingredients To Say The Least. I Can Eat Burger Nerds Everyday, Clean, Friendly Staff & Awesome Vibes!

I ordered the single, dressed burger and a side of brussel sprouts. The dressing was tomato, lettuce, both cooked and raw onion, mayo and I think mustard. No ketchup. Pros: The burger was delicious. I think they probably choose and grind their own cuts of meat because it was definitely better than most hamburger places I've been to. They had a mix of caramelized and raw onion that elevated the flavor of the meat. The bun was soft, chewy and an excellent companion to the burger itself. The brussel sprouts were roasted to perfection. The vibe in the restaurant was relaxed. I felt like I could chill with friends for a couple of hours. The staff was very friendly and the pricing wasn't bad. It might seem expensive to some, but this isn't McDonald's and Five Guys is just as pricey for not as good of a burger. They had fountain Pepsi, yay! Cons: Inconsistent seasoning of the burger. Most of the burger was well seasoned, but I took a couple of bites of burger that were definitely oversalted. Over-saucing of the brussel sprouts. Way too much vinagrette and mayo on the sprouts. I couldn't finish my order. That was disappointing because the sprouts themselves were very well made. And I couldn't figure out whether I was expected to bus my own table, or leave my mess in place. Overall, I totally recommend. If you like burgers, you will definitely like this place. I hope they keep brussel sprouts, because that's such a great pairing, but tweak the recipe.

Service can be a liiiittle slow, but the food is fantastic and definitely worth the wait! The vibe in this location is super cute.

We waited an hour for our food because the cashier never informed us our food was ready after she asked me my name and told me to sit in the restaurant. Once I inquired about my order and received it, everything in the bag was cold, and the cashier blamed me for not doing her job. I then proceeded to leave and discovered my order was incomplete; now, I have to go back in to get my order correct. All the burgers we ordered were extremely salty and very disappointing. I had high hopes for this place, but I will not be back.

Service was poor at best. Young ladies at desk were nice but watching the staff in the kitchen move so slowly and with no focus or energy was painful. Over 45 minutes to fulfill an online order of three burgers to go is unacceptable. No more than 8 tables occupied and they were all waiting for food.

I this place! My favorite is the plant base burger double stacked! With fries ! Service is good and fast! Ambiance is good as well! One of my favs!

Waited 45 minutes for the burger. When it came out, it was very mid and the patty was burnt. I'd skip this place for now and go to a fast food joint instead.

Absolutely delicious. The owner overheard that I was in the military and although they had no percentage discount, he gave me and my friend free drinks which was pure and kind hearted. Then when the burgers came I was expecting an average smash burger but the seasoning was spot on and the fries were the perfect shape and crispiness I don't know why I haven't came back sooner.

I went at 1:30 in the afternoon and there was only one other patron when I entered. I followed directions on the sign and ordered at the register. The young lady that took my order and subsequently brought my food was really nice and when asked for her recommendation she suggested the Queso Burger which I had seen other reviews on already, most were good. The food arrived quickly, I chose the Brussels sprouts for a side, they were piping hot with crunchy French onions on top. The flavor was great and they were cooked to a tenderness that was good, and not over done. The burger......well I didn't take a photo because once I opened it, I got cheese on my fingers and so I thought I might as well take a bite before I wipe my hands, and I didn't put it back down until it was almost gone. Anyway that should tell you, it's a great burger. The venue is easy in and out, with decent music and a pleasing atmosphere.

I can only say a few things about this place and they are all good queso fries fantastic. The burger with the sauce spectacular brussels sprouts didn't know I loved them until I had them there. I recommend this burger joint to everyone.

got the queso burger and fries. service was a little bit slower but it was delicious. two smash patties and caramelized onions with a bunch of queso all over. don't eat here if you don't wanna get messy.

Burgers are so so good. Queso burger is a decadent treat but their classic smash is as good as it get, imo!

Never had one of these burgers before but I had heard about them. Absolutely amazing! The queso burger is my perfect burger honestly. Everything about it makes sense. Nerds do it best!
