39 Best Restaurants in Tokyo Right Now | Condé Nast Traveler

"More than your average burger joint, this newcomer functions as a trattoria and a natural wine bar that also serves perfectly grilled wagyu beef burgers in a smart setting with seating at the shiny metal counter. Starters like the asparagus omelet smothered in bottarga cream and the herring carpaccio are made for sharing. But you’ll want the signature shio (salt) burger all for yourself. It’s a premium patty of bovine succulence, dressed simply with salt and butter. If you ask for mustard or mayo, you may get served shade: Burger Police doesn’t do condiments. The meat is perfect as is." - Melinda Joe

My buddy and I have been scouring Tokyo for some of the best burgers and this place found its way on our list. The reviews are a bit mixed, but I’m here to say it was one of the best I’ve had in Tokyo. The salt burger is the way to go, and add pickles and tomato while you’re at it, you won’t regret it. The burger was cooked a medium to medium rare, which is not something easily found in Tokyo as most places cook the meat medium well to well dome. The Wagyu was delicious and the burger was just nice and juicy. Small amount of fries come with the burger, am my critique would be it could’ve used more. Service was fast even though they were busy for lunch. Definitely worth your time.

I’ve been looking for good burgers and this place hit the spot. The bun was perfectly toasted and crisp on the outside and soft inside. The meat was cooked perfectly. I got the salted burger which enhanced the flavor without overwhelming it. I got a wonderful orange wine from Australia as well.

The burgers are delicious! I recommend not adding extra toppings and eating them as they are. The extra topping can overdo it and make it quite difficult to eat. The burger patty itself is made of A5 wagyu and was nice and rich and fatty. There were some hard bits of gristle in the patty which I don’t enjoy but nonetheless it is delicious. The fritto misto is very nice as well. Everything is battered and fried in a light tempura batter which really highlights the freshness of the ingredients they use. The desserts were out of this world. I normally don’t enjoy panna cotta because of its jello like texture but this pana cotta was rich and creamy instead of being gelatinous. The crème brûlée was very creamy however I don’t recommend adding all of the caramel sauce it comes with as it can be overpowering and too sweet. The service here is amazing. Our server Sonia was incredibly friendly and our food and drinks came out in a timely manner. Very pleased with this experience!

A bit expensive for a burger, but a place where you can enjoy a true gourmet burger! "The Burger" comes with a combination of delicious wagyu beef, onion sauce, egg and amazing bun. Everyone deserves a personal reward once in a while, especially those that love hamburgers! Crowd Size: Very High (Reservation Recommended) Payment Method: Credit Card

This small hamburger restaurant is one of the best I have experienced in the world. They serve “Wagyu” hamburgers of the highest quality. Their meat is most ideally cooked and very tasty. Buns are lightly toasted, a little bit chewy, and vey tasty, too. Among their menu, I strongly recommend the Salt Burger, which is a simple sandwich of medium rare Wagyu meat. You can enjoy the vey juicy Wagyu taste and flavor. For visitors from outside Japan, perhaps the size of their dish might be a little bit too small. I think they should offer bigger choices as well. The restaurant is about 10-15 minute walk from Gakugeidaigaku station of Tokyu Toyoko line.

Nice, cosy burger and modern European restaurant, located in Himonya, next to the police station. Small setting, with a few tables and a long metallic counter. Came for the maguro burger, which had large chunks of tender tuna, lightly seasoned with wasabi, just enough to tingle your nose, and came with crispy perfectly salted wedges. Friendly and welcoming waiter.

A friend visiting from out of town led me to this slightly confusing, but tasty restaurant. Now, the restaurant is confusing in nature because I’m not share how to categorize it—the sides dishes and appetizers are all distinctly Italian in nature, but the entrees are all burgers. Plus, the restaurant has a large wine selection. So, is it a high end burger joint? Wine bar? Italian? Unknown. With that being said, the food was good. We had the white fish and octopus carpaccio; the white asparagus; the grilled portobello(?) covered in Gorgonzola and honey; the bolognese burger; and the lamb burger with cheese. All of the dishes were tasty. The asparagus and carpaccio were delightful. The Gorgonzola was a little heavy but the thicker mushroom segments masked it. The lamb burger was great, but the bolognese burger fell a little short—the burger bun was wonderfully toasted though the burger lacked substance.

The decoration is cozy, but the space between tables is a little tight. I ordered salt burger. I really love their burger bun, it's crusty with natural sweetness. However, the burger has no sauce, no topping, no sides, and patty is overcooked. One of my friend ordered Tuna sandwiches(tuna burger), which we all thought put half cooked tuna with wasabi is a very special idea in a good way. By the way, they do not offer water for free, it cost 550 yen. And there is 550 yen table charge per person as well. I personally think it's unreasonable.
