Yelp
I had been looking forward to expanding out burger tasting adventures at Burger Republic for the better part of a week. Anytime we get a chance to visit a new location, one of the things we like to make time for is to indulge in some form of local burger flavor. We have certainly had some great ones, however this particular location didn't really do it for us.
Starters - NASHVILLE HOT TOTS:
our famous tots dusted in nashville hot spices and a drizzle of our house made buffalo sauce & chives served with house made bleu cheese dressing. I actually really liked these and she thought they were ok. I'd go 4 out of 5 stars for this dish. It does have some heat and after you eat a few it kind of starts to stack the heat.
Main Dish Wife - THE TENNESSEE:
Jack Daniel's honey glaze, American cheese, smoked ketchup, maple basted Benton's bacon, & Memphis dusted crispy onions. She was disappointed in this dish. At the price point they charge the burger should have some flavor. It was really just bland and underwhelming.
Main Dish Me - WEST TEXAS:
Twin thin pressed patties with two slices of habanero jack cheese, sliced jalapeños, crispy onion straws, & our spicy west Texas bbq sauce. I'm on board with her thoughts of her burger, mine was similar, it just really lacked any flavor. The combinations they offer (not that many) sound like they would be a really good flavorful burger, they are severely lacking.
One nice thing, they did have Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale on draft .... one of my favorites when you can get it that way.
Overall staff were nice, nothing out of the ordinary though. Really what it comes down to for me, on this review, is the fact it is self proclaimed and touted, that their proprietary blend of brisket, short loin and chuck make for a truly quality burger ---- not so much so. Came in with high expectations, left with no intention of returning. Also, as other reviewers have stated, the out the door cost was a little north of $50 .... pretty pricey for this type of result. Note: price did include one draft beer a sweet tea and a water.
