Best New Restaurants in Dallas July 2025 | Eater Dallas

"What has long been touted as the best burger in Dallas finally finds a permanent home with its own restaurant in Lake Highlands, which opened at the end of April. The ample space features a full bar, giving chef Dave Culwell room to roll out a menu of just under a dozen varieties of smash burgers, along with fries, onion strings, and fried pickles. It features booths and tables suitable for families, as well as bar seats and intimate tables for casual dates, and a small, covered patio. Get the OG Schmurger if you haven’t had it yet, but the Pasadena (a nod to Culwell’s hometown) and the blue cheese burger are also highlights." - Courtney E. Smith

The 38 Best Restaurants in Dallas | Eater Dallas

"Smash burgers reach their peak at this spot in Lake Highlands from chef Dave Culwell. There are weekly specials — the offerings go far beyond the standard smash burger with fries — but if you’re here, it’s probably because you want that burger, which has possibly the best crispy edges in all of Dallas. His secret sauce is a savory delight; the grilled onions and molten cheese in the classic Schmurger push the smash burger’s flavor over the top. His new standalone restaurant, opened after years of operating as a pop-up, offers just shy of a dozen varieties of smash burgers, fries, onion strings, and fried pickles. Best for: Going HAM on a burger, so absolutely not an early-phase-of-the-relationship date. The large space is family-friendly, and it has a full bar." - Courtney E. Smith

First time at the new stand alone location, and we were NOT disappointed! The Frozen Paloma tasted great and was large. Happy hour before 6 is a deal. We tried the Fries Mozz and Fried Pickles, both were delicious! The ranch has a great dill flavor. The fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. Finally, the Sweet Heat burger was the star of the show. It was cheesy and cooked just like a smash burger should be. The kids enjoyed the kids menu and they were treated first just like a good restaurant does. The service was great, and we were greeted by the owner with our food. The place looks great, and has an awesome vibe. We can’t wait to be back.

This is a great new neighborhood spot with delicious food and good vibes. We went on opening night and they were slammed, but it was a great crowd of families and friends. We did have to wait a long time for a table but they have a great beer and cocktail selection with super reasonable prices. The food was all delicious - the Burger Schmurger, fried pickles, and Schmurger fries all knocked it out of the park with flavor. My only knock is that the onion straws were a little overdone so basically just crunchy pieces. But will definitely be back and look forward to adding it to the rotation.

I finally got to try this burger spot that’s been trending all over social media — and it did not disappoint! The burger (Pasadena) was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and cooked just right. I also had schmurger fries with my order, and they were amazing 1000/10 . I did takeout, but I went inside to order and check out the place. The atmosphere was very inviting and had a fun, energetic vibe. The bar area looked super nice, and the whole place felt warm and welcoming. It was very busy (on a weekday!), with people waiting in line outside just to get in — definitely a sign of how popular it is. It did take a little while to get my food, but given how packed it was, that was understandable. Overall, I’m really happy I gave it a try and I’ll definitely be back — whether to dine in next time or do takeout again. Totally worth the hype!

I don’t review often but this place deserves it. Service was fantastic, friendly from the hosts to the servers and bartenders and the atmosphere is chill, they even have a pool table! The Maverick is to me, the epitome of a great smash burger. They even fry the fries in beef tallow 🫠. The poutine was so good too! To say I was happy when I left is an understatement. Of course it’s the opening weeks so they are dialing everything in but I couldn’t find anything wrong. 10/10 would recommend.

We tried this place recently for lunch after they updated their hours. We arrived when they opened at 11 and were rhetorical third group seated. It took a good 15 min for someone to come over and help us. A couple tables seated after us received their drinks, appetizers, and food before us. I could hear the server next to us tell the table “we pride ourselves on getting the food out quick.” We had or utensils opened before we ordered and some of the employees came by and cleared them. Not sure if they thought we had already finished eating or what. That’s how long we waited I guess. When we finally were able to order, the food was pretty good. We tired the poutine to start with. Really unique to have poutine on the menu in Dallas and it was fantastic. The gravy was great. My daughter had a hot dog. My wife had the Pasadena and I had the Maverick. We both liked the taste of the burgers. My drink sat empty the entire meal until or server finally came and checked on us after the meal was finished. The service wasn’t the best, but we will definitely be back to give them another shot.

We have been wanting to try this place for awhile and it lived up to the hype! Sat at the bar while waiting for a table and wound up just eating there because Ciara was so great. She was on top of making sure everyone had everything they needed and did a fantastic job. The food was also a 10/10, it took a little bit to come out but was definitely worth the wait!

Google
We enjoyed Burger Schmurger. The hostess's greeting was warm and welcoming even though the place was busy and every table was taken. Our wait time was only 15 -20 minutes, unfortunately, they don't have a waiting area. When we're seated Kiara greeted us right away and explained the menu. She provided fun and friendly service. The burgers are smaller than I expected but tasted fantastic. I recommend the East Dallas burger! We also had the OG Schmurger which has the house made pickles...yum! The fries were good but slightly too salty for me. I look forward to going back. The cocktails were on point too. We enjoyed the pineapple princess!

Google
I'm so happy the brick and mortar store is finally open. This is locally owned by a great guy! The smash burgers are simply the best you will ever have. They are not excessively big, and yeah, you might even want to get 2. I also had the Smog. It's an incredible hot dog. This place is very family, friendly and is a restaurant first. But they do have a nice bar. Check the hours before you go.Because they aren't open for lunch.Every day, but this is a great place to try in east Dallas anytime you dine.

Yelp
Burger Schmurger? YES! Today, we were in the mood for burger. Enter Burger Schmurger, located in the Lake Highland area on N. Buckner. This cute eatery was established in 2021 and it's definitely a spot were the cool kids meets! Part diner, part sports bar, Burger Schmurger is serving up smash burgers, salads, chicken sandwiches and then some! My Boo Thang' started with the Mozzarella "sticks" (and I use this term very loosely). 4 triangular slabs, breaded, and deep fried, served with marinara and their house made lemon dill ranch. They were super good and the cheese pull was ridiculous! He also had the Maverick Burger on our waitress Ava's suggestion, and it was a hit! Well seasoned patty, smoked bacon jam, american and provolone cheese on an inverted bun(with a side of lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles, because he believes all burgers need veggies. This burger needed NONE OF THAT! Paired with their hand cut fries that are seasoned with a blend of salt, white pepper, and sugar? Automatic hit! I had their Burger of the Month, The Sicario Burger. Smash patty topped with chorizo, Oaxaca cheese, avocado, grilled pico, jalapenos, and a chile lime aioli. It was heaven! The chorizo crisp and craggy, which lent not only a great smoky element that mimicked bacon, but also added texture. Along with the sauce this burger was tangy, smoky, spicy, all the things this girl LOVES!! My only dig, is on the size of the burgers. They are small for the price, but are BIG in FLAVOR! If your in the Lake Highlands area and looking for a burger spot that has ambiance, flavor, and great service, Burger Schmurger it is! Check It Out!

Yelp
This was a fantastic smashburger. It is my personal favorite hands down. I am a loved of the mushroom Swiss burger. The service is great, the restaurant is diner style so it has a cool and funky vibe. I went on a weeknight and there was about a 30 min wait but overall my experience was fantastic. Ps: the frozen Paloma is worth it!

Yelp
best smash in dallas family oriented, great fun atmosphere, lots of parking food itself is great, the maverick is my top recommendation. food came out fast, lots of seating, arcade games for kids to play

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous smash burger! We really enjoyed the entire vibe of the restaurant and the burger was indeed the star! Our server was super sweet and attentive and the whole staff seemed like a well oiled machine! While we enjoyed the burger, because we live about an hour away- we wouldn't make the drive again just for the burger. BUT if we're in the area... it's a must!

Yelp
Yall...... I need your undivided attention. This. Is. It! No frills, this place-- a piping hot good old fashioned burger ! This was 2 weeks ago and my taste buds are still tweaking! A 20 minute wait for the kiddo and I that Friday at 4:30pm...not too shabby...not a lot of space in the restaurant to wait but we made it work. Burgers are small...very small...I probably could've had 2, but the waistline has to be watched. They're fresh....you see the steam once unwrapped. The owner popped his head out occasionally...to bark at his employees, you ask? No! He was sweeping floors and wiping down tables. What a sight! LEADING BY EXAMPLE! This place gets pretty busy so get there early! They are now open for lunch in Friday's! The happy hour was probably the most memorable for me! Not only was the frozen cosmo delicious but it was the strongest $7 drink I've had in my life! **PROCEED WITH CAUTION**! Not complaining! The fries were "giving" wingstop seasoning....a sweetness to them. Delicious! The onion strings were my least favorite. Kind of limp...expected them to be crispier. I won't hold that against them! Welcome to the neighborhood! I hope you stay a while!

Yelp
Stopped by this morning right as they opened and there was a manageable line -- everyone that was there at 11AM got seated quickly and comfortably. I was hoping to pick up takeout for myself and my husband (who wasn't with me) and was happy to simply order in and transfer everything to boxes on my own, but the staff behind the bar graciously put together a to-go order for me since it was right at opening and they weren't too slammed with service yet. I really appreciated the accommodation and everyone involved was super nice about it. The gentleman behind the bar also happily filled up my reusable water bottle with ice cold water. Maybe since I came on a slightly slower Saturday (I think this is their first weekend with the new lunch hours) right at open, the takeout order was completed super fast! I think I ordered around 11:05 and food was ready within 10 minutes easily. I had to drive almost 40 minutes to get home, but when I unloaded everything most of the food was still warm and even the mozzarella sticks held up well! The only food on the lukewarm side was the order of Schmurger fries but that was definitely because I was snacking a bit from the box at red lights. Everything we tried was very tasty! The burgers are a tad on the smaller side; I'd liken them to Shake Shack in terms of volume, but honestly splitting 3 burgers between my husband and I was more than enough. My favorite was definitely the Maverick but the O'Brien was excellent (wish there was even more of a horseradish kick!) as was the OG schmurger. Schmurger fries were also great, and the fries held up well to all the toppings loaded onto them. Also really loved the mozzarella sticks; the breading wasn't too thick and stayed relatively crunchy despite the travel time. Enjoyed the marinara and ranch dipping sauces a lot too. We'll have to stop by in person one day to get the full experience, but this is certainly an excellent smashburger in the area if you can beat the lines.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner on opening night! Such a great smashburger and worth the drive to East Dallas if you aren't local to the neighborhood. I tried the Pasadena burger (2 patties, cheese, raw onion, lettuce, tomato, pickle, special sauce) with fries (tip: order with "all the sauces" to get the 5 dipping sauces). It was delicious but bun does get soggy from wrapper. We tried the fried pickles as well, these were a skip - but they do come with a great dill ranch dipping sauce. We sat at the bar to avoid the 4 hour wait on opening day - classic diner vibes inside with great music and booths. There is a patio as well. This will be a hit in this east side area! Some service kinks and long wait times but I figure that will be sorted out quickly. Def worth a try.

Yelp
We went on a Wednesday night and the experience was amazing! No wait, kind waiter, quick delivery, and good eats. I love the retro vibes-will be making another appearance

Yelp
Customer service is a 5 out of 5, the place was hectic in a Sunday afternoon at 6pm! Bartender, shout out to you for the vida fresca and pineapple princess! I would come back for apps and drinks alone. Mozzarella sticks are a solid yes, they did not disappoint! But unfortunately, the burger did! Don't believe the hype! TikTok led us here and the burger was tasteless, the bacon was good, but other than the heavy taste of bacon, the burger had no seasoning, and absolutely NO taste. After seeing so many TikTok's and false 5 star reviews following the hype! I left this place with my tummy full of a bad burger, if you're looking for a solid burger, RODEO GOAT is down the street!

Yelp
Ordered take out, place was near packed at 4. It has a new old style burger restaurant feel. Lots of bench booth style tables. Bar staff was quick and friendly. They had a can of Michelob Ultra in front of me in a flash. I ordered the Schmuger Burger, Schmurger Fries, and a Green Salad. The food was still at the right temperature after a 5 minute drive. All was well packed. The flavors of all were quite good. For many, the burger and fries would be to their liking. For my taste, Michelob tastes better out of a bottle or draft in a glass. Thin smashed style burgers do have more caramelized surface area, but I rather have the patty. The price was somewhat high.

Yelp
Came on Saturday a bit after 5. We had a 45 mins wait for a table for 2, not too bad considering this place has been all over social media. Waited about 30 mins for our food once we ordered. The burgers were fine, not the best burger I've ever had, the fries were meh. Don't get the onion strings, they're literally just crispy fried onions. Also, it's so weird that they don't want you to change some of their burgers, the lettuce & tomato I requested had to be put on the side. Overall ambiance is cool, I feel like this place has a lot of space, you're not crowded except for the entrance when you're trying to put your name on the list. It would be a really really great option to have an online wait list

Yelp
Absolutely perfect burger. I cannot believe I've never tried this place, especially since right in the heart of dallas. The vibe was great and our waitress was so kind. 10/10 all around. Also great for pictures!

Yelp
Felt trendy and retro at the same time! Pretty good smash burger and fries. Haven't seen anyone post a picture of the dessert yet so adding a picture of the ice box cake (more of a pudding I would think). Would recommend this place if you've never been!

Elesha A.

Yelp
I've recommended this place to both my friend and my husband, it's that good. A solid 10 out of 10, every single time. The burgers are perfectly crafted, with buns toasted just right and that subtle touch of butter. And the fries? The perfect match. Truly obsessed with this spot.
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
I'll preface my review by mentioning that I was starving. We had a long way to get in and then took a long time for our food to be served, but when it came, I absolutely hoovered it up. I intended to eat half of it later, but it was so tasty. I couldn't help but finish the whole thing. The meat was well seasoned, and I prefer the smash burger to a traditional burger. I think they were excessively busy because of Father's Day, and that might have resulted in the service issues. The french fries were not crispy and were very small so I think they just gave us what was at the bottom. So I wasn't impressed with those but feel like maybe on another day. They would be better. It was a fun atmosphere great for families and I think very reasonably priced for these days. I'm going back. It looks like the happy hour is pretty amazing with seven dollar cocktails and wine so I'd like to check that out.

Yelp
We were so excited to see a new local business open in the neighborhood - but we were even more excited when we actually tried it. The burgers are A++ and we are making our way through the entire menu. The original Schmurger is my personal favorite, but you cannot sleep on those appetizers: the fried pickles and fried mozzarella (THE CHEESE PULL ). Service is great (disclaimer: my daughter works here so I'm biased), the wait is long, but worth it. If you don't want to wait for a table, the bar is open seating.

Yelp
Let me just say this loud and clear: Burger Schmurger is an absolute SMASH--literally and figuratively. We came here on Father's Day, and I left wondering if I've been wasting my life eating lesser burgers. The Schmurger--their OG smash burger--is hands-down the best burger I've had in Dallas. Crispy edges. Juicy middle. Unreal flavor. It's like they took every good burger I've ever had, put them to shame, and said, "Watch this." We kicked things off with the pretzel bites and fried pickles--both were golden, hot, and addictive. I would've been happy if the meal ended right there... but then came the burger and fries. The fries deserve their own round of applause--crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, seasoned just right. Not limp. Not greasy. Just perfect. The vibe is casual and cool, the staff was awesome, and the food came out hot and fast. This place doesn't mess around. If you love burgers, stop reading this and GO. Burger Schmurger is officially a Dallas must.
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
Fries were stale and cold like they have been fried over and over. Meat was burnt and I had to come back and ask for ketchup, no napkins either fory to go order. And I did tip, so, can't imagine how non tippers orders come out.
google avatar

Oliver P.

Yelp
Love this! The only place that capture the eccentric smash burger feel. I came with all of my finance bros and we all tried every burger. Although the classic shmurger took the cake, the clairemont was a close second. The shoestring onion rings were too thin to dip in the 5 delicious and price efficient sauces. Waiter served Shirley temple blazing fast and was sure to refill when needed. The classic burger joint feel helped refine the overall ambience. The music was awesome and they should have me over to sing some time.
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
Been a smash burger fiend lately so had to get my fill. Place was super busy but I received the best service ever from Sam at the bar. The host told me the wait for a table was an hour plus but Sam made space for me at the bar. Had the schmurger and the sweet heat, both hit the spot. This place was sooo good! I'll be back!
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
Do not follow the hype... The service was TERRIBLE. We went on a Monday evening at 8pm and it wasn't busy but somehow it still took them 30+ minutes to get our food... 3 burgers... the burgers were average, nothing scam-ancy. We asked the manager to check on our food and he said they're putting it together right now and proceed to say "oh if you think this is a wait you should see us during the weekend" basically look how good we are. In my opinion that's the opposite of what you should say to your costumers to make them want to come back. There were plenty of other burger places to spend your money. Will not be coming back...

Newton T.

Yelp
Best Burger in Dallas by far! I was excited when they opened the restaurant as I have been a big fan of their burgers for years!

Angie Q.

Yelp
We've eaten at the original Burger Schmurger and the food has always been really good. We attempted to come on opening weekend and that was a joke...2 1/2 hour wait so we left and decided to wait and try the new location on a random Thursday an hour after they opened. While they already had a decent crowd we were able to walk in and grab a seat at the bar immediately. We ordered the Maverick and the O'Brien burger with an order of fries and all of the dipping sauces. The burgers and dipping sauces were fine, although I wish the O'Brien would have had more horseradish sauce on it b/c the bartender kept talking it up so I expected it to singe my nose hairs and I could barely taste any horseradish on it. The fries were extremely disappointing. I almost sent them back because they were cold and soggy...which was annoying considering they had only been open for business about 2 hours at this time. But the thing that sent me over the edge is the price of their "well" vodka. I ordered 2 vodka sodas and specifically requested well vodka. I didn't question the price because there is a huge sign that b/t 3pm and 6pm they have happy hour and their house cocktails are $7. Their house cocktails contain 4 - 7 complex ingredients each, so I just assumed that a simple well vodka soda at a burger joint during happy hour would be no more than $5, but to be honest it should be $4. I was SHOCKED and furious when I got the bill and saw $10/drink. I questioned the bartender and he went to talk to his manager and came back and explained that the only thing that was on HH special was the House Cocktails which didn't include the well vodka. I told him this was highway robbery and the only thing they are missing is a gun and a mask! He tried to explain to me that it's Townes Vodka which is a premium vodka. I didn't ask for a premium vodka. I asked for a well vodka. But if that is your "cheap" vodka...I looked it up and at Total Wine & More this sells to consumers for $24.99 for a 1.75L bottle. Typically, there are 39 shots in a bottle this size, so each bottle of vodka at $10/drink yields $390 minus the cost of the vodka...and you know they didn't pay $24.99 for that bottle to begin with. In addition to that...I can go right next door to El Vecino and NEVER pay $10 for a vodka soda. So, while Burger Schmurger has gotten a lot of fan fare and I truly want them to succeed...they are NOT a fancy steakhouse! They are a casual burger joint and cannot rape their customers with these ridiculous drink prices if they ever hope to survive. Because the newness will ware off and people will not continue to show up for soggy, cold fries and expensive well cocktails.

Yelp
UPDATE: 3 out of 4 of our party are showing signs of food poisoning. The business was alerted. ORIGINAL: After eating here, all 4 of our stomachs are in pain. There is something seriously stomach upsetting with their food - especially their "beef tallow" French fries. From the start, the service was atrocious. Our waitress had to confirm our order 3 separate times and then picked up on our frustration and claimed "I'm not stupid" - we never said she was but she was sure acting like it. Despite that, we were excited for the food but were immediately let down. Anything that was fried, such as the mozzarella sticks and french fries, tasted like they were in 6-8 day old oil. None of it was fresh tasting at all and immediately made all of our stomachs hurt. In regards to the burger, the buns were dry and looked liked they had been smushed or sat on - wtf - is this the namesake of why it's called a smash burger? The patty was oily and our ketchup bottle was empty at the table. We asked the waitress for a new one but it never came. To be honest, Sonic has a better "smash burger" than this place. Save yourself a 60 minute wait and go somewhere else

Yelp
The burgers are very tasty but also teeny tiny and be careful because the seemingly low price goes away as they charge for everything from lettuce to pickles to tomatoes and $3 for some mid-grade provolone cheese!!! $20 later I left hungry Go to rodeo goat and see if you can even get through a Brad Schamm burger with applewood bacon, a huge onion ring, lettuce tomato (all included!!!!) for $12! Every bit as tasty and twice the food for half the price I will never ever go to one of these places again Should be called SCHMURGER SCHMURGER but one thing is for sure: your budget will be murdered!!!

Yelp
Since we've been fans since the Craft & Growler days, we've been excited for the opening of the first Burger Schmurger & it did not disappoint. We grabbed bar seats that were open instead of waiting on a table, but if there's more than a party of two, well, you may be waiting for 30+ minutes until the deserved hype here dies down. There's a smart mix of local beers on draft that are all lagers or light lagers, which is perfect for a burger joint. We tried out the fried pickles & despite other reviews here, they are crunchy, a little sweet & spicy, & not greasy at all. For your first visit? Get the Maverick or the OG burger. I tried the Pasadena & it is good, but not nearly as tasty as the other two that I mentioned. The raw onion & tomato is a nice fresh touch on it, but you just can't beat the gooey umami flavor of the Maverick. Fries are pretty good, but the onion strings are difficult to eat. If you want to try their sauces with the onion strings, it's nearly impossible to do that without a fork. It's got an old school diner look to it & my only beef (ha beef get it) is that it's super loud. It's very open, so there's not much that can be done about that. However, the bar stools are by far the most comfortable that I've ever sat in. My wife & I were both excited about that as we are 100% sit at the bar & eat people. I'm sure service, which isn't necessarily bad right now, will get better as they go, but Burger Schmurger is off to a great start. As of this date, they're definitely in the Best Burger of DFW discussion if not winning it.

Not open today!!!!! Despite what the hours show it is locked up tight. Drove across town to try it trusting the posted hours on yelp.

Yelp
They opened at 3. Had a line to get in. Awesome place with a cool old school diner vibe. Everyone that worked there was extremely nice and helpful! Cold beer and drinks at the bar. The food was incredible. Prolly one of the best smash burgers that I've had. I'll def be back. My only complaint is that the burger is quite small. I'll order 2 next time. Also they has great prices!

Yelp
Great smash burger and great service. The burgers aren't very big, so definitely get sides/appetizers. We had to wait about 45 minutes, but it was worth it!

Yelp
Really great burger, I've eaten at a different location and the restaurant really benefits from it's own space and the expanded menu. At the time of this review they're in a soft opening, so expect long wait times. I had an hour wait when I went, but aside from that the experience was really positive. The fries were very well seasoned but could have done being cooked a little longer. Overall, definitely give it a shot. I don't know if it's the best burger in Dallas but it's high up there, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Walked in and loved the setup. (Galaga!) Cool music, smiling faces. Sat at the bar. Prompt service and engaging conversations. Yes... Had the Maverick and fries. DAMN! Tasty! I live in Frisco and I'm definitely coming back! Cheers

Yelp
Stopped by this burger spot on a whim, and I've got to say -- the food was pretty solid. The burger was juicy, the fries were crispy, and the sauce game was on point. Nothing wildly inventive, but definitely hit the spot. Now, let's talk about what really made the experience unforgettable: Sawyer. I don't know what they're putting in the water where this guy trained, but if there were a Hall of Fame for servers, Sawyer's face would be on the banner out front. The man is a hospitality ninja. Anticipated every need before we even said a word -- drinks refilled like clockwork, food arrived perfectly timed, and he somehow made the whole table feel like VIPs without overdoing it. Funny, professional, and genuinely seemed like he cared whether we had a great experience.

Yelp
Great burger spot! Classic ambiance feel with a twist. Love the nostalgic items inside. Food was great, the fried pickles are a must!

Yelp
Way overpriced burgers! Same with drinks and food as well. Service is SLOW and not exactly "SERVE US!!! Randomly CLOSED when we wanted to try them out. It is often not open when we go by there, like tonight, a Tuesday, at 6pm. Had long, HOT, stand in the sun wait lines because it's new. But people are opting for a "Mexican burger" (Tacos) at El Vecino, next door!!! Now that's a hoppin' GREAT place to eat. Great service and FAST, attentive wait staff. I would rather have a Whataburger than go back to Burger Schmurger. As a matter of fact, that's what I would say about this place--"Burger Shmurger".

Yelp
Giving this 5 stars before i even walk through the doors of the NEW location to boost the ratings - everyone needs to visit here at least thrice. The food was always hot, fresh & delicious at the old spot - i can't imagine the quality would decrease in a more efficient kitchen. Congrats to team Schmurger on the new location. Will leave another post-food review to boost ratings in about an hour. Post-food review; still 5 stars - worth an hour wait. The 1 & 2 star reviews are from weenie hut jr people. This location just opened, they are still getting their bearings straight. If you want a budget burger - go to mcdonalds. You will spend an hour here & enjoy every minute of it. If you're hungry, get 2 burgers. If you're a light eater, 1 schmurger and a side will do ya just fine. The bar team was great & Charlee took great care of us. Although they forgot about our pretzel bites, my experience was still amazing. We didn't come here for the pretzels or the drinks, the burgers are what brought us here & what will continue to bring us back. Dave, if you're reading this... well done! Congratulations - great team here!

Yelp
Thought the plain Jane was really good. Unfortunately I wanted the East Dallas without Bleu cheese, but I was informed the "chef-created menu" and the "integrity" of the burger were more important than what I wanted. Did t ask for a lot... just don't put the bleu cheese on it The service was great and I liked the atmosphere, but that approach to your menu is ridiculous.

Yelp
Tried to place an order on Fathers day and was told you were too busy. Dont get that.

Yelp
We have drove into Dallas two times now on our Saturdays off to try this place. BOTH times they have been closed... the first time they had a note on the door saying they were too tired to work so they took two days off. We just returned again today and the doors were locked again. We were going for lunch at 12:30 only to find that they have now changed their hours to 3-11pm. I hate leaving bad reviews but they can't seem to get their business in order. Need to update information on Yelp and other online services to show updated hours.

Yelp
Excellent smash burgers! You can't go wrong with the Maverick burger (this is what you should order if you like more toppings on a burger), the OG Schmurger (if you're a burger purist), or fried mozzarella (some of the best mozzarella around). These items are crave-worthy, worth the hype and amazing. The Obrien is great, but not much of a horseradish flavor if that is what you're seeking. You could always ask for extra. Surprisingly, the fries are not memorable to us and their dill ranch isn't my jam, but everything else more than makes up for this. They are super fast when they aren't busy, but it can take longer during peak busy times (plus they are still in early days of being open so this is to be expected). The burgers are not massive, but I think they are the perfect size. None of us have ever left hungry in our three visits (we keep going back because we are craving the fried mozzarella and Maverick). While they aren't mega supersized burgers, I think some reviews are being a little bit nit-picky about the size.

Yelp
Great burger! The service and kitchen efficiency need more time to figure it out, though.

Yelp
Don't be fooled by reels or social media. Super disappointing. Overpriced, tiny burgers. Ok onion straws, sad fries. Reallyyyy terrible service. Got there right at 11. 6th table sat. Took 20 minutes to get sodas and water...server said, sorry there's only one soda machine. 80 more min to get our 4 burgers. After food got to the table, Owner came by ask, "how was everything besides the long wait for food hahaha," then walked away....um not funny. Never got drink refills. 1 bartender making drinks, the other2 just standing there or on their phone while drinks piled up. Chicken sandwich just as sad as our burgers, nothing like the pictures on their page. I read the bad reviews on this page but thought maybe it was a one off or some Karen's, but definitely all true.

Yelp
10/10!!!!!! Food is amazing, service is great, ambiance is vibey and clean! Packed on a Friday but only waited 30 minutes at the bar and got drinks and an app!

Yelp
I was excited about this Nieghbor new restaurant. Now I'm a person that loves burgers, but this place just missed the mark in my opinion. Now my family ordered 3 different types of burgers. We got one side of fries and onion strings with 2 teas. As a starter we ordered fried pickles. The grand total was $60.00 I also gave a good tip on top of this because the food portion was not the waiter's fault. The place was loud because of the TV's playing the stars game. The restaurant temperature was cold and I saw multiple customers go to their cars to get jackets. So this restaurant needs a lot of work to earn my business again. So work on the portion to cost value first off. Need a manager to check the tables and have a system in place the make the kitchen run smoother. I have worked in many restaurants and this place needs help with time management with restaurant fundamentals. So if you want a ok burger and want to wait an hour plus to get sat at your table. I hope it gets better because I hate to give a bad review to a neighborhood restaurant.

Yelp
I've been going to burger schmurger since their first residency pop up at the brewery in fair park back in 2022 and I'm so happy that they finally got a brick and mortar location. This is truly the best burger in dallas in a location that feels so fun and comfortable to be in. It's got such a fun classic mid century diner feel. I will say this, to those that complain about the wait times, know that this is a father daughter business where Dave the owner is running around the clock to make people happy and is always there to make sure you're happy. I was more than happy to wait over 20 minutes for a table because I knew I was supporting them. I'd wait an hour just knowing that alone. Again best burger in dallas, expect to wait but expect exceptional food and friendly service.

Yelp
Can't recommend. The restaurant is open for more than an hour and they're not taking any more to go orders. If you don't want to be open, then close. My wife is home and sick and I can't get her what she wanted. Oh, well. Pretty poor first impression. At least you all were polite about your boneheaded policy.

Yelp
This ends the debate of who has the best burger. I ate it last night. The Maverick and the O'Brien were both fantastic. Fried mozzarella is usually a cliche appetizer but these guys make it from scratch and it was delicious . Kind of a diner/roadhouse vibe inside. Really cool! Very personable service. This place will deservedly do huge business.
