Burger She Wrote

Best burger in my life. Perfect smash with juicy steak. The bread is small and soft. Had the Oklahoma which comes with grilled onions, 10 out of 10. Fries were also very good. Place isn't the best but the burger makes it worth it.

I’ve been to the original Burger She Wrote in LA many times, so I tried the new Venice location today. The burger and fries were identical- and delicious! There are only 2 tables at this location, so you may have to take your food over toward the beach and find a place to eat there. But there’s a shave ice place right next door, and an ice cream place three doors down.

bummer. been wanting to try this place for a while because so many people recommend it. it was just ok. an order for 2 people was screwed up multiple ways. ordered 1 double smash and one oklahoman, and got 2 double smash with one being plain? they also gave us fries on accident (but I think they were for another party). nothing was really cooked/prepared with much care. a bottled water was 4 bucks. 4 stars is generous i guess.

Seriously don't know what all the hype is about. The burgers are $9 for a single and $14 for a double. They were small and so basic. The fries were all small like the bottom of a bag of fries and there's no combo so you have to order everything separate. I let my friend have the fries, its annoying picking at tiny fries, he left them too. Overall its expensive and very basic. There's a smash burger spot nearby thats $3/burger. I should've gone to that instead

SmashBurger is DAMN good, not gonna lie. And I’m picky with burgers. It was juicy, flavorful and the bun and toppings were on point. Honestly, my new go to spot in Venice. Great price too! 👌🏻

Onion burger was 3 star - thrown together sloppily and edges were barely even charred like a proper smashed onion burger. Acceptable at half the price point, but not at this price point. Cashier dude’s unnecessarily and unwarranted annoyed attitude brings this place overall ti 2 stars. Spend your money elsewhere, plenty of other burger shops within walking distance.

DO NOT COME HERE, THEY’LL JUST WASTE YOUR TIME! This location opens at 11:30am so we planned our day to stop here at 11:30. We got there at around 11:35am. We walked up to the window just for the employee to tell us that they’re “not open yet” to which he mumbled under his breath. We pointed out that Google Maps has 11:30am listed as their opening time. He said “I know, but we’re not open yet” and then he rattled off what sounds like an opening list of things he should have done prior to 11:30am. We then asked him what time they will open and he said 12. Honestly, that’s ridiculous! We didn’t have the time to wait around so we left. Feedback for the owner: hire your people a lot more carefully.

I started going to burger she wrote because all the famous people like timothee chalomet and Tyler and Kim Kardashian love it so much. Now I go because it’s the best burger I’ve ever had and I can’t go back to normal burgers. It’s 100% wagyu smash burgers. So crispy and flavorful. I’m addicted! And they have the best fries, better than in n out…
