Spiffy counter-serve restaurant turning out elevated takes on burgers plus spiked milkshakes.
"Burger Tap & Shake, the self-explanatory casual restaurant from Passion Food Hospitality chef Jeff Tunks, has permanently closed after nine years in Foggy Bottom. A tweet from the burger joint’s account says it hopes to reopen at a new location in the future. In August, BTS announced it planned to close until the fall. It was known for creative themed burgers that blended in pork and game meats, along with other international flavors." - Tierney Plumb
"Any establishment with the word “shake” in the name had better make a good one, and Burger Tap & Shake does. There are 11 varieties of hand-spun milkshake flavors, plus several “shaketails” (boozy shakes) with names like the Cayman Mudslide and Oreo Speedwagon. Try the restaurant's signature BTS Shake, which combines Butterfingers, Twix, and Snickers." - Lisa Ruland
"This is a restaurant with a menu as straightforward as its name. Grab a seat, choose from four different types of meat (or the aptly-named Haight Asbury veggie burger), top it with anything and everything (including jalapenos or chili con carne), order a side of fries or onion rings, and wash it all down with a cold ale, cocktail, or boozy milkshake like the Kahlua-filled Oreo Speedwagon, the Firefly vodka-infused Talladega Nights, or the Jim Beam-fueled shake known as Stag Party." - Travis Mitchell
