Good quality burgers, relaxed environment as you can see, food was good so I forgot to take pictures of them. Only the dessert made it here. 🙂 Good atmosphere and good quality food, will go back.

Stopped by for lunch and glad we did. What a nice place in the middle of every restaurant there could be this is where to go for a burger. Food great. Service great. Summertime Hemingway cocktail delightful. The only thing we didn't like was the bar stools. Very small seat and uncomfortable. We chose to sit at the bar after seated next to several kids. While the area was much quieter and less stress the seats were tough to sit on and don't even think of leaning back! We will be back for more burgers.

Stopped in for a quick dinner on Sunday night. We were quickly seated! My wife chose fried mushrooms for an appetizer. I had sweet potato fries. She enjoyed the mushrooms. My fries were soggy 🫤🫤 It didn’t stop me from eating all of them. I had grilled Pineapple Chipotle wings for an entree. They were cooked nicely and the sauce was spot on. My wife had the mushroom Swiss impossible burger and fries. She said it was good but the cooked onions could’ve been cooked longer. All in all a decent meal! Best part….someone picked up the tab!

My first burger came out looking fantastic, but they used huge red onion rings. My first bite didn't go completely through one of the rings and it pulled the entire burger apart. They remade it free of charge (without the onions) and it was great. Good spot for lunch or a quick bite, but a little on pricey side for a burger spot.

Google
We enjoyed the music and layout of the restaurant. The fried pickles were a delicious appetizer, and the house fries were the perfect amount of crispy and salty. We tried the OG Smash Burger, the Classic, and the Ramsey. The only criticism I have is at the tables on the main floor there is nothing to do with your purse except to set it on the floor or hold it in your lap.

Here’s a draft for your Google review of Burger Up: --- ⭐☆☆☆☆ **Disappointed with the Experience** My recent visit to Burger Up was really disappointing. The burger we ordered was burnt, extremely dry, and the fried pickles were soggy and lacked the crunch you'd expect. To top it off, when my husband went to pick up our to-go order, the staff treated him as if he were trying to steal it. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and made an already bad experience even worse. We won’t be returning.

Trendy, swanky spot in Franklin. The main one is in Nashville. It’s really good. Not only do they have an impressive burger menu, their salads are fresh and delicious. And they have fresh avocado, shrimp, turkey burger, and salmon.

Google
I'll start with the positive, which was the burger. I ordered the "Classic" and it was a 5 star caliber burger, for sure! I ordered sweet potato fries on the side, which were okay (average). My son ordered the truffle fries which were very greasy, and he barely ate any of them. The service was not good. I rated it a 2 because it wasn't awful, and at least when the wait staff DID acknowledge us, they weren't rude. However, just basic service etiquette was lacking all around. Primarily, we got our drinks, they were nearly gone when the waitress finally took our order (she should have refilled then). When the server brought our food out, both of our glasses were completely empty and sitting on the side of the table, again, he completely ignored them. At least 8 times waitresses and the hostess walked right by our table (our waitress did 3 times before she finally asked us if we wanted refills.... DUH!) Our food was practically all eaten by this point. The food was good, the service was bad. Overall, it was just okay. It could've been a lot better.

Yelp
Burger Up is a great place to gather if you are looking for fresh, elevated bar food! Cozy atmosphere ( lots of reclaimed wood) , nice staff & good food. My hubby had the classic burger & loved it! I had the grilled chicken Sammy added Avo, & arugula. It came with Honey Mustard & it was OH, SO delish! I also got the sweet potato fries & so sorry to report they were mushy & not my jam. Will not order them again. Thinking I will be healthy & order a side salad. Burger Up does not have a full bar ( I had water bc I do not drink beer) so definitely not a night spot for me but planning on coming back for lunch for the fresh, local meats. Burger Up gets 2 thumbs up! Shout out to Ashley our server she was a delight!

Yelp
So there's a fine line between upscale/top tier "fast food" and affordable "sit down" casual dining. A matter of a couple of dollars separates the overall cost of a Red Robin, Shake Shack, Five Guys and/or a place like "Burger Up." "Burger Up" has all of those places beat hands down in terms of ambience, service, atmosphere, etc. I really appreciate their commitment to locally sourced ingredients and beef as much as possible as well, so perhaps I should also grant them grace in terms of price. I had the smash burger-Ramsey. It was...good. Good, not great. Good beef, okay toppings/bun/etc. It didn't quite feel like a smash burger--a bit thick for that maybe? It wasn't crispy around the edges particularly. But it had overall good flavor and I enjoyed it. Not greasy at all. The Ramsey supposedly has pimento cheese but if so, it was very slight. The fries were good. I had a winter ale (Shiner) which was good...but as others mentioned, $8 is a tad pricey for a Shiner even if it is seasonal, especially since I was dining at a time ripe for happy hour and/or specials. My server was great, friendly and helpful. 3 is "good" "solid" "overall worthwhile" IMO, so this is definitely not a thumbs down. There's plenty of parking, the overall atmosphere is great. It's good food, just 10% or so pricier than it should be.

Jessica M.

Yelp
My favorite burger place in Franklin! Love the farm-to-table emphasis on dining. The black and blue or the Ramsey smash burger are both fantastic choices. Tonight we had the garlic parm chicken wings and they were a hit for the whole table. I'm not a big beer drinker, but I always like to get something they offer on tap. Tonight was a delightful Kentucky Bourbon Ale.

Jacqueline D.

Yelp
Burger up is a go to. Love that they used grass fed local beef too! The burger is really good, but could use more seasoning.

Chloe T.

Yelp
Just an average burger place. My husband and I got patty melts. The onions were pretty raw (in lieu of caramelized) and it just had plain I toasted white sandwich bread. We were able to try the onion rings, regular fries, and sweet potato fries. All just average and kinda soggy. The Mac and cheese bites were ok, and we would probably get them again. I don't know if the milkshake was good or I'm just prego and needed ice cream lol but I'd get it again. Service was fine considering it was packed.

Mari B.

Yelp
Haven't been here in years and glad we stopped by! Our serve Alfredo was fantastic. Good beer selection. Fried pickles were delicious and served with ranch dressing. Our little had kids grilled cheese and glad it came with not only fries but apple slices. The Bison Burger was fantastic - lean but flavorful. Loved the fries the came with them - they had Parmesan, garlic and seasoning with a great mustard type sauce - very good fries! All in all, a good experience all around!

Lilith V.

Yelp
Amazing! The food was very well cooked and the staff were very accommodating to a wheelchair user, severe allergies, and vegans! The ambiance was very homey, I loved the music choices!

Sherry W.

Yelp
I think it's pretty insane for 2 hamburgers and 1 beer to cost approximately $60... $8 for an average beer that is more than a 6-pack you can buy at the store, and the hamburgers averaging about $18 bucks a piece Is CRAZY... I guess if you don't want to cook at home, then splurge... Honestly, I would come just for the fries and special made ketchup. I so wish i could duplicate that ketchup at home. And, I can't complain about the taste... They were yummy burgers!

Randy B.

Yelp
I really liked a lot of things about Burger Up. The venue itself, the staff are great, and the menu -- so many options and choices. Love, actually. The housemade ketchup went excellent with my sweet potato truffle fries. I tried the sliders, because it was not plain, you could choose any two of the delicious sounding burgers. Therefore, I went with the Woodstock and the Jalapeno, but honestly, they all sounded good. For sliders, they were just good not great. The buns were a little dense (not soft), and the burger dry. Maybe the full burger would be better. I'd definitely be up for trying more on the menu, it's a great hang, too.

Kevin M.

Yelp
Patty melt is delicious, fries with aïoli sauce are to die for!!! I really enjoyed The Earl Grey Old Fashioned.

Tim G.

Yelp
Glad we finally tried this place. Had a good meal and a great experience. The service was excellent (thanks, Caleb!). Interior was very nice. Somehow I was expecting more of a fast food place, but this is a great spot for dining in and hanging out, with table service. The food was good. The Fried Mac & Cheese Bites were really good, with a tasty dijon aioli for dipping. My wife loved her OG Smashburger, opting for the lettuce wrap to make it gluten-free. They also offer a gluten-free bun, and the menu is marked pretty well for gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options. I had the Woodstock Burger, which was tasty. Fries were also good, nice and crispy. We will definitely come back to check it out again soon, and try some of the other burger options.

Arthur M.

Yelp
Yo burger was great service was good nice for families to go and enjoy a burger .kid from Brooklyn and I approve this message

Rachel L.

Yelp
When I'm craving a good burger, this is my first thought / go to! The jalapeño burger is my favorite, but in all honesty, it's not really that spicy. Spicy elements, but I would expect it to pop with a little more heat. Good flavor though. Also love the fried pickles... but I love fried pickles anywhere I go! Love that they use local purveyors, and everything is always so fresh.

Mike K.

Yelp
We wanted to try this burger up because we love the one near Belmont. We walked in and immediately noticed the place was unorganized and messy with a couple tables not yet cleaned. We were sat and just behind our table in an aisle way there was a pile of garbage on the ground that had been swept into a pile. The manager came over to seat two other people in the table next to pile and grabbed the broom that was leaning against it but didn't sweep up the pile. Instead he stepped over it. That pile sat there the entire time we were in the restaurant and 3 different employees walked around or directly over it. The manager was also vaping in the hallway outside the kitchen in plain site of customers. Our server was good and the food was good as well. But because of the messy, dirty and disorganized fashion the restaurant was in, we won't be back.

Melanie S.

Yelp
I was visiting friends and we wanted a cheeseburger. Burger up didn't disappoint! The three of us ordered Mac N cheese bites, the jalapeño burger (pretzel bun), patty melt, waygu burger and truffle fries. Truffle fries were to tie for, as were the regular fries extra crispy. My friend loved, LOVED her jalapeño burger. The four stars is really because the patty melt and waygu burgers were okay. Waygu had too much mustard and that's all I tasted.

Jennifer A.

Yelp
Burgers were delicious, the sides were not anything exceptional. Our server was pleasant enough but we received no drink refills until he brought out to go cups with our bill. We ended up feeling very rushed. Probably would choose to go somewhere else next time.

Leah L.

Yelp
My friends and I have tried this place several times and we tried to give it a chance, but this place is overpriced and the service is mediocre. Also, if you order food for pick up, they charge you added fees and 20% tip automatically even though you have to come in and pick it up yourself.

Sandi S.

Yelp
We stopped in here for dinner when we were in Franklin. We split the fish tacos, one with grilled mahi-mahi and the other one with blackened mahi-mahi. My husband got the barbecued cauliflower as a side and I got the seasoned rice. It was all very delicious! We've been there once before when visiting Franklin and I'm sure we'd go back again.

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
Definitely will only be going to the 12S location moving forward. Franklin was below my expectations. Happy hour menu is very disappointing in comparison to Nash, but worse than that, the wings were burnt and the fries were soggy. Drinks felt watered down/too much ice. My slider was decent but sad to see that you can get the speciality burgers as a slider like you can in Nash. It's worth the drive to go to 12S.

Carter N.

Yelp
I can affirm the 15% surcharge on takeout and online. If you want to tip, by all means tip. But Burger Up Franklin REQUIRES this on their takeout orders and does not tell you about it before you arrive. (You can see it online but over the phone, they'll take advantage of you.) They also charge 50 cents a piece for a tiny tub of their ketchup, which... whatever, except it's unusably small so you'll need multiple, and they don't tell you about that either when you ask for ketchup. The same ketchup that's included with the meal when you come to sit in. The original Burger Up in Nashville does NOT do either of these things. It is a location specific practice. And the ethos behind these practices is clear. To be clear here, GO TO BURGER UP, they have good food. But go to the Nashville location. Let the Franklin location learn its lesson.

John A.

Yelp
Ordered the patty melt. It was really bad. White bread. Hardly any onion. A sauce that was tasty and spent all night with stomach pain and diarrhea. Something must have been dirty in the kitchen. Can't recommend this place at all.

Danise S.

Yelp
We used to like this place. But the visit today is probably going to be our last. We ordered the jalapeños burger with lettuce wrap. While my boys burgers look normal, my burger looks like the size of two pieces of chicken nuggets. Very disappointed. Almost $15 a burger is not cheap. Oh and their fries are so sad looking, all soggy and soaked in oil. I would much rather go to Mooyah if I want a tasty burger that fills me up and fresh crunchy french fries.

Robert L.

Yelp
Great food & service. Unique flavors abound & not just normal burgers. Was not too busy on a Saturday afternoon

Courtney C.

Yelp
Ordered takeout through Uber eats. We ordered 8 burgers and only received 3. Called the restaurant and they indicated that we needed to work with Uber eats to obtain a refund. The restaurant worker was rude. Took over an hour for the food to arrive, and the food that we did receive was tasteless and did not include the toppings as listed on the menu. I ordered a side of Brussels sprouts and there were maybe 5 included. Overall, I understand that the missing items could have been an Uber eats issue, but the entire experience was terrible and we won't be returning.

Howard S.

Yelp
This was a great find. A Great burger house. I had a bacon cheese burger and the best Kale salad I have ever had. Another nice touch... The waitress "Kate" left a water kraft on the table for refills. Great service. We will be back. 5 star.

Michael H.

Yelp
very disappointed in customer service. order wrong and management still charged and would not make it right. be careful. plus there is up charge for almost everything, including ketchup.

David D.

Yelp
Buyer beware. I know we live in a new world but just went to place a takeout order. Was told I needed to order at bar. Was planning on ordering for my entire family when I noticed in very small print "15% surcharge added to all to-go orders" When I asked about it I was told that's the policy. I said no thanks and left. I recreated the order online just out of curiosity and I've attached a screen shot. Not only do they add 15% to the food cost they tack it on post sales tax so more like 17%. In what world is it ok to force someone to pay almost $16 to a person to punch in an order and hand them a few paper bags? Worse yet, Burger Up hides it during check out. If your staff is underpaid, pay them, raise prices and give people the choice to eat there and add an optional tip. Until then my entire family has no plans to wvwr return.

George L.

Yelp
Small burger, a lot of bun around the meat. Overcooked: "medium" is there standard but this was decidedly medium-well, no moisture visibly evident. The meat was also tight probably because it had been overworked. Their house ketchup was great on a burger but a bit watery with fries. Our server was very friendly, but front of house was unwilling to accommodate our simple seating request until we said we were going to go elsewhere. "We usually reserve those seats for groups of six or more," but it was the tail end of lunch and not at all busy. Bottom line is that this burger place fails to make a good burger.

Linda D.

Yelp
Everything was wonderful. Great food. Loved my black and blue burger. Fries were great.

S C.

Yelp
We really like the great quality beef used. It's a place we would frequent more often but the staff makes zero effort to clean up. The floor was strewn with dirty napkins, straw wrappers, and food particles. The staff just walks on and over everything without a care. Meanwhile so even through the burgers are pretty good it's not a nice place to eat and relax. I'm subconsciously sweeping and wondering why the manager doesn't get on this. The staff is clueless.

Robert B.

Yelp
We visited Burger Up in Cool Springs last evening. The service was very good, our Waiter was attentive, and did a good job. However, the stools at the tables were eventually uncomfortable, there are no chairs with backs? I ordered the Patty Melt and cut fries , my wife a burger and sweet potato fries. My Patty Melt was barely OK, two thin patties of HB on barely toasted white bread, ($14.50)? My wife's burger was good, sweet potato fries were greasy. I had two beers, my wife had one large glass of wine, the bill was $66 before tip? Way out of $ range for a burgers and fries in my opinion, even if they were the best burgers ever, (which they were not)?

Michele S.

Yelp
I might be generous in the 3 stars. We should have know since no one was in there when we arrive just after 6p. We'd heard the Nachos were great so thought we'd try it. It took forever for the server to come to our table. The hostess was nice and brought a second glass when I pointed out to her it had lipstick smudges on it. After probably 20 minutes, we had to ask for our nachos and they arrived cold. We told the waiter and he returned with our entrees followed by the new plate of nachos a minute later. The server forgot the protein on my salad so returned with it on a plate and plopped it onto my salad (requiring my help). My husband proclaimed his burger slightly less than 'average.' Sad. We wanted to like it. But the overall vibe was: "What? You want something? Is that why you're here?" Laid back. And not in a good way. P.S. our server did ask if we needed anything and I detected a better attitude. Hmmm. Did he see me about to post this?

Scott N.

Yelp
Yummy in my tummy Burger up is the best burger joint in Franklin . Service was great!

Cassie M.

Yelp
Really good! Love all there burgers and non-burgers :) My husband and friends got the new smash burger and said they were delicious. Their fries were so good and love their homemade ketchup!

Mike V.

Yelp
The avocado burger was honestly one of the best burgers I have ever had. It was cooked perfectly and had so much flavor. And the solution that came with the truffle fries was fabulous! I will say that however, that I was a bit shocked that my burger was $15, but compared to most burgers you find out there, the taste was worth every penny!. If you like the idea of locally raised beef without any antibiotics or hormones used to raise them (some people care) and an honest to goodness burger, then check this place out. I'd never heard of Burger Up before tonight, but met a friend here and truly enjoyed the experience.

Russell F.

Yelp
Nice restaurant but seating was uncomfortable (round metal stools). Food was good, burger was on the smaller size especially given the price but very tasty. Server was slowwwww but someone else kept the drinks filled.

Jack S.

Yelp
Oh how the mighty have fallen. Burger Up has been our go-to burger joint since the first one opened on 12 South ten years ago or so. After waiting a few minutes the hostess walked up and just stared at us with no greeting. Okay, she's new. No big deal. Our server was good and friendly. The burgers were dry and tasteless. The fries were cold and greasy, but the onion rings were good. But, the restroom was dirty to the point of unhealthy. You'd be more comfortable in a gas station. The windows were also filthy. The glass door to the patio was covered in greasy handprints and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Clean is not a minor detail. Poorly trained front of house staff is indicative of the care and diligence of the management, or lack thereof. So on a complete lack of worthy management we'll not bother to come back here again. There are simply too many other good options to put up with mediocre food, dirty surroundings, and marginal staff.

William H.

Yelp
A very bad experience. Service was very slow. We were seated in the closed in patio (cold) of the facility although tables appeared available in the main restaurant. When food was delivered my "Classic Burger" was extremely overcooked. A waiter/ waitress never returned to check on the food delivered. As I was with a group, and as there was no wait staff present, I ate what I could of the meal, even though it was overcooked. When the check was presented I explained that it was overcooked - the response was "sorry" with no further apology or explanation. When I departed, I was unable to locate the manager (if a manager was present??) to discuss the situation. I will not be returning.

Jason W.

Yelp
This was a return trip to Burger Up. My how time changes things. I loved this place 8-20 years ago, but apparently they either didn't recover strongly after Covid, or they just went down hill. I ordered a black and blue burger with truffle fries and onion rings. Basically cost me $30 for a smashed burger, limp greasy fries and over-battered onion rings. This visit, a to go order was abysmal. Don't waste your time or money. I can't exit without talking about ambience. There was none.

Debora Y.

Yelp
Back visiting Nashville after moving away 7 years ago. Burger up is always a must. Can't find truffle fries as good anywhere else. I love to get the kale salad topped with the marathon patty. My hubs and kids got burgers. Everyone was happy! Also the guy that took my order over the phone was so kind and happy to be there (Ben I think)

Jeff B.

Yelp
Wonderful food with a great staff, the manager came out and checked on us multiple times with our party of 12 to make sure everything was going as it should would highly recommend this establishment

H M.

Yelp
Well. Tried to hit this one over the weekend. The smell of cooking burgers was awesome but they were short handed and the air conditioning was broken. It was so hot in the place I began to wonder if the smell was the burgers or the guests who braved the heat to sit inside. FYI it was hotter inside So, for staffing and comfort I'm giving them a fail, but the burger aroma was intoxicating. So, that's a 2 star in my book. Anyway, I just couldn't do it! Found another place to eat down the street. Don't worry though. I will definitely hit this one again and give them another chance.

Marissa C.

Yelp
I went with my grandkids and was sat at 220, not greeted. at 228 a 3 top was sat near us and greeted immediately. I gave it another minute before leaving. I have a multiracial family and this isn't the first time I've come and had a similar issue, it's just the first time I chose not to wait 15 min to be greeted while everyone around me isnt. the hostess made eye contact with me and watched us leave.

Jason M.

Yelp
This is my experience only. This is only our second time eating here. Both experiences have been very good. We have been seated as soon as we arrived. I always order the Woodstock burger. It's basically a bacon cheeseburger. Always cooked to how I order. Never been disappointed. The truffle fries are good. Just a good place for a good burger. The only negative is it does take a minute for the food. But no complaints. Will be back.

James B.

Yelp
Awesome place, host sat us quickly and brought my service dog a large bowl of fresh cold water on a hot humid day. I will most definitely be back. The ambiance is amazing as well.

Miriam R.

Yelp
We always get great service and yummy food here. Their burgers are interesting and delightful, and I think they make their own ketchup! They use local bacon and responsibly-sources ingredients. You can get regular or sweet posts to fried, which is nice, and they even have some decent salads if that's your jam. We're regulars here!

Nancy P.

Yelp
Ordered the sliders and the Hamburgers were well done and very tough unable to eat. Service was ok better than the burgers.

Jaime H.

Yelp
Service was a little slow. Burgers were underwhelming esp for the price. Daughters got the kids meal that were extremely small burgers. Would prob not eat here again just bc it wasn't very memorable.

Lacey A.

Yelp
We went with a group of 8 (including my special needs sister and my 6 year old daughter). When we arrived our daughter was very hungry and the waitress rushed an order of fresh cut fries and apple slices so that she could get something ingested asap.. we really appreciated that! The decor and furniture are absolutely gorgeous. We ordered Blueberry Poblano Margarita - it was delicious! We ordered appetizers and amongst our group got the Brussel sprouts, fried mac n cheese, fried pickles, and the nachos. All were aesthetically pleasing and tasted great! If you are wanting burgers - I highly recommend getting the sliders and trying two different types! If you're going I do recommend to consider taking a light sweatshirt/sweater as it was pretty frigid in the restaurant. Overall great experience !!
