Burgermeister Review - Kreuzberg - Berlin - The Infatuation

"Close to lots of bars and nightclubs around Skalitzer Strasse, Burgermeister is our other favorite late-night spot in the area (open 3am daily and 4am Fri-Sat). Located conveniently under the Schlesisches Tor train station, this tiny burger stand is found in the station’s former public bathroom. While a train station bathroom restaurant would send us running for a hazmat suit in New York, Burgermeister has been meeting Germany’s strict health code standards for many years. The simple burgers are really good, especially in an area with generally cheap, forgettable food. There’s only outdoor seating here (visit in winter at your own risk), but two more locations at the Kottbusser Tor and Zoologischer Garten stations are indoors and tend to be less busy." - Barbara Woolsey

Burgermeister – Berlin, Germany - Gastro Obscura

"One of the most delightful aspects of traveling the world is sampling the local street food. Taco carts, hot dog stands, creperies… what better way to immerse yourself into the local culture? In the case of Berlin, Germany, at least one way to do that exists while also sounding incredibly brave (or foolish, depending) when recounting the adventures to friends and family upon returning home again. Enter: Burgermeister. The snack shack, whose name is a clever play on the German word for “mayor,” may seem to sling burgers and fries like any other joint of its ilk, but the details of Burgermeister are where the place really distinguishes itself from the pack. Located directly under the U-Bahn tracks, its utilitarian shape and dull green paint and “Männer” sign at the restaurant’s far end reveal the space’s former life as a public toilet building. Yes, you read that right. The reigning late-night, counter service burger joint of choice in Berlin is located inside an old train loo, scrubbed of all its goo. Customers take a ticket, deli-style, from a counter and wait patiently (or drunkenly, depending on the day and hour) for a busy worker, seen running hither and thither throughout the standing-room-only restaurant, to deliver their American-style treat. Burgermeister’s food has been praised by several critics, making it worthy of the bonus braggadocio you’ll add when regaling your mates of that time you ate a hamburger in a restaurant that used to be a bathroom, and lived to tell the tale. The beautiful Oberbaumbrücke nearby offers a great view of the Berlin skyline and the river Spree, get your grub to go and eat by the water for a quintessential Berlin experience. Know Before You Go Located right next to Schlesisches Tor U-bahn station, Burgermeister is also a short walk from Warschauerstrasse Station. Visiting on a weekend can be chaotic, as Berlin's booming nightlife area is nearby, and the stand draws the crowds of hard-partied and hungry on their way home - or to the next club. Be prepared for a long, yet interesting, wait." - hayleyknoph, erika121, Johan SWE, themirroredroom, littlebrumble, I IgFan, IgFan

Google
One of the few hyped places that's actually worth it. Very good burgers at decent prices, although the only thing I would say is that perhaps they would benefit from a bit more seasoning. Otherwise, it is very well made and good quality ingredients.

Google
The historic Burgermeister in Kreuzberg I first ate here six years ago and, of course, had to come back. The burgers are still as great as I remembered—flavorful, well-made, and satisfying. The staff was friendly, and the location has that unmistakable Berlin vibe. Definitely worth a stop if you're craving a proper burger. The quality-to-price ratio is excellent.

Google
Milk bun, cucumber very nice sweet, fresh vegetables. You can feel its own workmanship, not the aftertaste of fast food. An iconic place on the map of Berlin.

Google
The best burger in all of Germany is right here in Berlin! Enjoying it under the S-Bahn bridge really adds to that cool East Berlin atmosphere. The burgers are absolutely delicious, and the friendly staff make the experience even more memorable.

Google
My wife & I stumbled upon this burger joint in a converted public convenience under the S-Bahn in Kreuzburg late one night over twenty years ago. People milling about at standing benches, talking, drinking beer or kola and enjoying incredibly delicious burgers whilst traffic bustles past. Been back many times since when visiting the city. I’ve also frequented some of their (inevitable) franchise outlets I have to say their cheeseburgers are absolutely superb - always fresh & tasty. Simple is best. Danke 👌🏼

Google
Folks, its worth it! I ordered the fleischermeister and it was perfect. But if u want to eat there, the place is small and not comfy to sit, just so u eat fast and go

Yevgen Gusovskyy

Google
Burgermeister is certainly a great fast food burger but it is not in any way “the best in the world”. That doesn’t matter if you want a good burger at a very cool location for not too much money. A great fast burger is always smash as far as I am concerned. That’s exactly what you get here. The Maillard reaction is amazing and the envelope is wonderful for holding it without ingredients falling apart. Everything here is predictably good: all the typical good ingredients and a good bun to go with it. The ingredient proportions are perfect. Certainly come here if you are in a mood for a good burger.

Google
Order with the QR code online and skip waiting in the queue. One of the few popular places that actually worth the hype. Cheese fries are recommended to try as well. One burger + fries were 10€.

Yelp
Absolutely loved my bacon cheese with jalapeños burger. the bacon fries were very delicious! staff was pleasant and helpful. i was able to sit outside and enjoy the scenery.

Yelp
Visited with some friends on a Wednesday night for some food. We'd never been before but we're familiar with Five Guys and wanted to see if it was similar. The ordering process is really easy- you can order on your phone or at a kiosk inside the restaurant. I don't remember the names of our burgers but the total (plus a small order of fries) was €17. Muuuuuch cheaper than Five Guys. It took about 15 minutes to make which was fine with us. They have a ketchup and Mayo pump in the restaurant too! Overall it was fine, the burger was good even though it's not my preferred. If you want a burger this isn't a bad place to go.

Yelp
Great spot to grab a quick bite before our concert at the Berlin Philharmonic. The restaurant is a few minutes walk from the concert hall and we were in a rush. Fast efficient service and tasty burgers. Grilled mushrooms, onions, high quality beef patties, fresh buns and more. Taste is on par with if not better than American In-N-Out. I didn't really have any expectations going in but was honestly pleasantly surprised! We didn't try the fries, but did get one of the cheesecake filling cookies. Pretty tasty and a fairly innovative concept but definitely very heavy and sweet, not something to do often (not something to do more than once, to be honest). Busy inside with a lot of folks going in an out and a mass of Uber Eats drivers picking up food, but plenty of seating and places to eat inside.

Yelp
AMAZING. Best fast food burger I've legit ever had in my life. I will miss this burger in America lol

Yelp
Wow. That's the review. The Cheeseburger was perfect. A soft bun, thick patty, juicy/fresh toppings. 100% recommend and at a reasonable price. I didn't get true cheese fries, so it was through UberEats, they gave me the cheese on the side. Good idea or else they'd be soggy. But, nonetheless, the entire meal hit the spot

Yelp
Meister burger with fries & all 3 sauces. The burger was just okay. Didn't make me love and savor every bite by any means. The fries were good.
google avatar

Cole R.

Yelp
Best burger in berlin, the meat has a gameyness to it that I love and the fries with the house mayo is some of my favorite in all of berlin!
google avatar

Wyatt L.

Yelp
This was a solid burger but the fries tasted like they had been sitting out for a long time. The tables in the restaurant were also pretty dirty.

Yelp
This is such a cool idea. I read the entire story online before coming here. That made the (not very long) line worth it. It was also slightly raining! It was lunchtime on Saturday. Since it was winter, they had the glass covering up around the structure. I ordered without incident and waited a short while they churned through the orders. I stayed under the glass covering to eat the burger. It was cold and rainy after all. Other people were also standing along the edges doing the same thing. It wasn't too cold inside the enclosure. The turnover was steady...as people finished, their spots were immediately filled with new people from the line who had just ordered their burger. The burger was delicious. I was pleasantly impressed. I will definitely be back with friends I want to shock, then impress with the quality burger in Berlin.
google avatar

Yelp
This was a random place we found on Google when we visited Berlin, but it was one of the best burger places I've been too. We got the bacon burger and a cheeseburger. It is definitely a classic burger without anything fancy, but it hits all the things you're looking for in a burger. The patty itself is super crispy and juicy; the veggies taste super fresh. There wasn't much of a wait and service was decent. The cashier's English was good enough for us to order. Each burger was around 6.5 euros, and the value was definitely worth it. I would say the portions are medium sized, but large enough for one meal.

Yelp
I wasn't expecting this to be a gem! Cast iron shack like burger dive under a train line. The food is cranked out quickly and is delicious. There are two no frills, bohemian eating areas. One outside and one just enclosed with some heat to take the edge off. The burger patties taste like freshly ground chuck and simply seasoned. The bun is fresh and well grilled. The cheese sauce runs thickly and the other ingredients flavorful. Price is very reasonable. I am craving a return!
google avatar

Yelp
Such a great burger. We were walking in the area and saw the reviews on yelp. Headed over there and grabbed a quick lunch. We caught it right before the crowds started so the wait wasn't too bad. Funny thing is that it used to be an old Train station bathroom. Don't worry the food is excellent. Just enough grease to feel like you are getting a legit burger with great flavor. Seating is at a premium and you are sitting on metal bars with makeshift pads around them. Good mix of people were there when we were eating. Love places like that. This is a great place to grab some food.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent burgers in an awesome location. Smack dab in East Berlin's central clubbing district and situated under an elevated set of train tracks, your guaranteed to get great food in incredible ambiance at Burgermeister. Day or late night, be prepared for a line and very limited table seating. But it's ok. Trust me, it'll be worth it. The menu is cheap. The bacon cheese fries and chili cheeseburger are as good as they sound. Enjoy!

Yelp
This is the best burger I have had in the Berlin area during the 5 months I've been here. What makes it so good? It is a perfect recreation of a greasy American Diner Burger! Juicy patty. Delicious. Perfect soft bun that is still strong enough to not fall apart mid way through eating. Fresh ingredients. And the meat is light, tender, and has a clean delicious flavor. . What I mean by that is, almost every burger I have had in Berlin is over formed and squeezed together like a hockey puck. Overworking the ground beef and packing it too hard will result in a dense and tough burger. This will also cause the meat to be chewy and imparts an odd flavor. The Burgermeister staff have single handedly saved the Berlin Burger reputation as far as I'm concerned. Parking can be in issue. But it's worth the search. It's located in the middle of the street. I mean that literally. It separates the opposite direction of traffic. So don't miss it. If you have a desire for a real American style diner burger, the kind you crave after you've left, this is the place for you. So bummed it took me 5 months to try it. But I'll be there again several times before I leave. Oh, and the fries are great too! Staff is friendly, helpful, accommodating.

Yelp
Ok... not gonna lie, I was skeptical. I mean all the "lists" say to come here. They talk about the converted toilet and how you should eat a burger from it. Now, I'm all about the touristy stuff sometimes but even I thought this was too much. Then, one of my friends (who knows Berlin) told me I have to get a burger here. That it was great and I should really try it. He's not the type to exaggerate and if he says that's one of the things I must do, well then... He was right. Delicious!!! Actually one of the best burgers I've had in my life. Why? The bun was perfectly toasted and buttered. The meat was seasoned and cooked so well. It was dripping with salty, fatty juice in such a good way. The cheese was melted perfectly and the veg was fresh and crisp. Yes, a good burger indeed. I never thought I'd say that outside of America, but there it is. Also, the fries are quite delicious. We went at opening and had a place to stand in the vestibule (winter time fun) but within 30 min the place was packed. Be ready to wait for this burger.

Yelp
I love cheeseburgers more than just about anyone on the entire planet, and after hearing such great things about Burgermeister, I made the trek to eat here once I arrived in Berlin. Let me tell you: the hype is real and 100% deserved. This was one of the (if not THE) best burger I have ever been served anywhere in the world. It was so great I went back to eat here twice while in the bustling German city. This place is dive-y because it's literally located in the middle of a busy street under a bridge (you'll be eating and looking out a window at cars that are whizzing by mere feet away). There's extremely limited seating so come prepared to stand up. There will be a line but it moves quickly. The employees were kind with us foreigners and they do speak English (although you'll score points if you at least try to order in German as we did). You order at the window, pay, and then get your food when it's ready. Since everything is made fresh to order, expect to wait a minimum of 15 minutes on a busy day. We had to elbow our way into a small standing room only ledge to eat our meal but it just added to the overall ambiance! I opted for a local cold beer and a classic burger with chili cheese fries. What struck me the most was the overall high quality. Europeans have better food standards than we do here in the U.S. and it shows in their food! The bun was soft and spongy with a buttery flavor, the burger tasted super beefy and fresh, and the produce toppings were top notch all around (crispy lettuce, bright red tomatoes, and sweet onions)! All of these elements combine to make one of the best burgers you'll ever eat. The fries were great too! Topped with chili, jalapenos and a melty cheese sauce, the potatoes were crispy and hot. They were also a standout. The portion size was a little small compared to the bloated American standards but they're so satisfying that ordering one to share will be plenty. They even came with cute little wooden mini forks for eating. If I had to describe the burger to Americans, think of it as a super high quality mesh between In-N-Out and SmashBurger. That's not doing the place justice, but you get the general idea. Bring stickers from your hometown if you have 'em because customers have adorned the interior with them. Don't let anyone poke fun at you for eating American style burgers while in a foreign country -- these are THAT good, take it from a burger fiend like me. I LOVE this place and can't wait to return to Berlin to eat here again!

Yelp
We just finished watching a concert that ended at 11pm and me being the country bumpkin that I am from Hawaii, my concern was that maybe there weren't a lot of places open. Oh how about Burgermeister?? Uh oh they close at....4am???? WTF, this Berlin place is paradise!!! Anyway, we waited in a reasonably short line while techno played from the inside of Burgermeister and what is this, beer for 2 euros??? So my wife and I had 2 cheeseburgers and 2 French fries (one with cheese) and I had a beer which I think was the best damned 2 euro beer I've ever had. Burger was awesome, fries are awesome, and now I like eating my French fries with mayo, thank you very much. Seriously good burger here, medium and juicy with a few medium rare parts here and there. They put their lettuce tomato and onion on the bottom of the burger and the cheese on the top, why?? Because that's how it's done.

Yelp
This place was amazing! Probably one of the best fast food style burgers I have ever had. Most burger places make themselves better by providing larger pieces of meat, or making the burger giant sized to compensate for not having any way of making the burger taste better. But at Burgermeister, the size was normal, and they didn't feel a need to giant size their burger to make it better, they were able to make it good by just showcasing the best they had in the size given. The Hausmeister burger was excellent, the bun was amazing, the bacon was super delicious, the patty was really well cooked. It just all came together to be an amazing burger, at an excellent price, and in a fast food setting. I really wish we had one of these in the states, cause I'd be there all the time.

Yelp
Omg the best burger I have ever had The spot used to be a restroom back 100 yrs ago, if you're a tourist I suggest stopping by!
google avatar

Yaping D.

Yelp
Every one of our Berlin friends recommended this place for a quick bite so we knew it had to be good. The burgers were pretty good but a little on the small side. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a quick but good burger rather than going to McDonald's or Five Guys
google avatar

Masumi T.

Yelp
My friend and I came here on a Sunday around 10pm for the "best burger in Berlin." Despite the time, there was still a 30 to 40 minute wait. This burger stand is located under a bridge with a handful of tables surrounding it. While you wait, you can purchase beers from across the street. We ordered the chili cheeseburger, chili cheese fries meister double chili cheeseburger, and regular fries. You receive a number and wait to be called. Once ready, the burger is half-wrapped in paper and standing in a cardboard container. It's top heavy - be sure it doesn't tip over like mine did. We found a table and ate. I was pretty disappointed at how dry the meat was. The sauces on my burger were the saving grace. Chili cheese fries were good but nothing special. Glad I tried but wouldn't come back. Cash only.
google avatar

J W.

Yelp
I would come all the way back to Berlin for this place. Don't let the fact that it looks like (was?) an old train station toilet keep you away, this place is well worth the visit. Get ready to stand in line though because the minute you decide to go, you'll realize...everyone else has that same idea too. It's well worth the wait. Food quality, taste, & price all get 5 stars from me!
google avatar

Mimi S.

Yelp
Taste: 4.5/5 Service and location: 2.5/5 Pricing: 3/5 I wasn't expecting much for burgers in Berlin, but was convinced to come here due to the popularity and reviews. Also, the name reminds me of Jägermeister. There's 2 locations located not far from one another. One is a normal store and this one, the original, is located under a bridge with only outdoor seating. Upon arriving at prime time for dinner, there was a medium-sized line forming. Didn't look like it'd take long. No restroom available here so I paid one euro to use the restroom across the street (oh, Europe). Once I came back expecting the SO to have ordered, the line had barely moved. After ordering, we realized that we did not get the beer we ordered and others received their drinks from the cashier. The cashier was too busy taking orders so we had to ask the worker at the pick-up counter. While waiting for our order, I noticed that a few orders were messed up. Food: When we finally got our order, the burger was moist and juicy. Cheeseburger was not overly greasy and chili cheese fries were tasty, jalapeños gave it a nice kick. I could eat those again. Remember: cash only!! No bathroom since the place used to be one. Be prepared to wait.

Yelp
Everyone loves it but is it worth it? Here's my judgment of their classic. Cheeseburger, 4,90€: Price: 0.75 Size: 0.5 Bun: 0.75 Meat: 0.75 Freshness: 0.5 Total: 3.25/5 The hype seems a bit overrated. Still, Burgermeister is a nice urban classic for after party munchies!
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Don't miss this spot! I loved it and the vibes were spot on what you want near the Berlin Wall. It's hard to believe such a small kitchen can crank out that much quality food but they absolutely pull it off.
google avatar

Roxanne G.

Yelp
If you're in Berlin, this is a must have. The line will always be around the block, but it moves quickly and there is free wifi. Grab a beer while waiting and just enjoy! Everyone on the line is super chill and cool, so you'll make friends. The people you're on the line with, you'll probably end up sharing a table with, so play nicely! If you're feeling daring, order the double with everything on it. Grab extra napkins, you're going to need them.
google avatar

Jack M.

Yelp
Hey, BurgerMeister is pretty darned good. It's got a very nice crispy exterior, juicy meat, and a potatoey bun with fresh veggies. Perhaps a little less cookthrough, and a more complex sauce would take it to the next level. This place is clearly a favorite amongst those living in the area, and for good reason. The service is friendly, the food comes out quick, and it's really quite good.
google avatar

Courtney S.

Yelp
One of the best meals I had in Berlin. Super fresh, made to order burgers and fries. We came in a group of 10 and they were able to accomodate us. Prices 5/5 Taste 5/5 Location 4/5 They have all kinds of burger patties including a veggie burger! Our group got 2 veggie burgers, 5 cheeseburgers and 3 bbq bacon burgers and fries! Everyone was very happy and full. We also went super late night and was one if the only places still open. Glad we found it.
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
Closest burgers I'm gonna get to the ones back home in California. It reminded me a lot of the burgers at Five Guys. Nothing special - just a greasy, delicious patty along with some bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion, all stuffed in between two thick buns. The queue can get pretty long so beware!
google avatar

Solange F.

Yelp
Perfect for burgers and grub. Good fast service. Friendly people around you. Delectable and a fun place to be while in Berlin.
google avatar

Ann Beth C.

Yelp
Under the train tracks in the middle of the street is a shack that serves a very good burger. A few tables outside, mostly standing room inside. Gets busy, so be prepared to wait. Comes with ketchup and mayo.
google avatar

Farhat K.

Yelp
This is some Five Guys/In-N-Out/Shake Shack tier burger. It was so damn good that I had it three times in 5 days. The meat was cooked perfectly, the barbecue sauce added that zing, and the bread was solid. Also, cheese fries were absolutely drenched with cheese (they don't skimp at all). It was freaking awesome.

S H.

Yelp
As an American I'd put this up against any diner, gastropub, or backyard grill and expect it to win. Nothing fancy here, just crispy, juicy, with great ingredients. You want a cheeseburger, that's what you get. Perfect size, maybe a small fries and a coke.
google avatar

Daniel C.

Yelp
I absolutely love this Burgermeister! I ordered the meisterburger, which had bacon, lettuce, onion, tomato, and a type of barbecue sauce. It came out hot and fresh! Absolutely filling and yummy; I highly recommend ordering. In addition to the burger, I ordered cheese fries. They came out crispy, hot, and full cheese! There were no disappointments with the cheese fries. The staff are super nice and respectful. The atmosphere is not our typical restaurant. Very alternative as the area is rugged and has no real seats. But, there are metal bars with pads to sit on and wooden tables that you can just stand at if you do not want to sit. Overall, this place has great burgers and fries, pleasant staff, and good vibes even with the unorthodox restaurant setting.
google avatar

Jay B.

Yelp
Yelp is American friendly for those who travel outside of the United States yet very limited source of Information internationally. Believe it or not my information on food finds is trip advisor or google. Burgermeister reviews on Yelp serves no justice. By far the most tastiest burger I have ever eaten. Well seasoned and cooked just right with a little pink inside and I must add very juicy. The fries were exceptional, crisp to perfection. A must place to visit if your a visiting Berlin. Check it out!
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
Well, don't need a lot of words for a review about Burgermeister...very Berlin (small take away in old men lavatory under the sbahn railway bridge), very popular (prepare to queue for at least 20min, best case scenario), very very good (definitely in my burger top 3 worldwide! Their burgers are just perfect!) and very very cheap (you can count around 4,50€ for a burger and 2,50€ for cheese fries - don't bother taking the normal ones haha). Compulsory stop when in Berlin !
google avatar

Nina M.

Yelp
After eating all type of burgers in US, I must say that this place is really on top of their game when it comes to quality, taste, service and size :) Great juicy burgers, all tasted so fresh and well made on the moment! Highly recommended!

Hamdah S.

Yelp
The burger is so nice. The workers are so friendly everything about this place is awesome even it's location m. It's really authentic

Mike P.

Yelp
My wife and I went here when we were visiting. Very good food and great atmosphere! We will be back whenever we're in town again. We ate outside and the crowd was fantastic
google avatar

Lauren A.

Yelp
I am a cheeseburger fanatic, and this place DEFINITELY doesn't disappoint! We went around 3PM and didn't have to wait very long to order or for our food. We both just got a plain cheeseburger and fries (and of course, a couple of beers). The burger was cooked perfectly, and the crispy and buttery bun made the entire meal. I can still taste it! There wasn't very much seating however, and some funky tables with piping as chairs, which was unique. But if you want a delicious, no-frills, reasonably-priced, awesome meal, this is where you should go. Menu was easy to understand in English and the staff were very accommodating!
google avatar

Yichen H.

Yelp
The lines here are always long regardless of when you go. For us it was around a 30 minute wait, but you know it should be worth it when every single garbage can in a 200 meter radius is filled with Burgermeister boxes. The line moves pretty fast and it was definitely worth it. I'm almost ashamed to admit my favourite meal in Berlin was a burger, but man was it a good burger. Our whole crew ordered Meister Burgers and not a single crumb was left behind. Chilli fries were good too, but the burgers were spectacular.
google avatar

Walter H.

Yelp
Just the best burger ever. Surreal being a converted public convenience under the canopy of the railway and slap bang in between a duel carriageway. A don't miss joint if you are in Berlin
google avatar

Tony R.

Yelp
When looking for this restaurant rated in the top 10 in Berlin, you might find yourself driving right by it. The restaurant is actually a small shop that looks like a truck trailer with windows located below the Oberbaum bridge. If you're looking for a large sit down restaurant, Burgermeister is not the place for you. However, if you're looking for great burgers and fries at a low price at a place that is open late, you'll love Burgermeister. I am told there are usually long line-ups. We went there after the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at the Mercedes Benz arena (which is close by) and there were about 20 people in line. The line moves quickly however the wait for your food is actually a bit longer. It took us about 20 mins to get our food. They offer a variety of burgers and fries. We had the BBQ Burger and the Chili Cheese fries and both were awesome. The burgers are the right size (they also have a double burger if you're really hungry) and the chili cheese fries were insanely good! The small interior does get a it rowdy, perhaps especially after a concert. One guy in there dropped 3 bottles of beer on the concrete floor which shattered all over the place and clean-up wasn't that quick and in fact didn't happen at all while we waited. The have stand up counters inside or a few stand/sit tables outside. For a quick and tasty treat, Burgermeister is awesome.

Yelp
I never expected one of the best burgers I'd eat would come from a former public toilet. Burgermeister was our first stop after our hotel as we had heard nothing but rave reviews. I've had a lot of burgers in my time, but these were something else. Served from what used to be a public toilet under a railway arch, the setting is the epitome of Berlin's street food culture. The burgers were straight to the point and so damn cheap but also insanely delicious. So fresh, juicy and tender. From the outside it doesn't look like anything special, and when we arrived there wasn't much of a queue so we were a bit sceptical, but we must have just timed it right as the queue was right out the door when we were leaving! The ordering system is efficient, you're given a number after ordering and wait a few minutes until it's ready. Saves on crowding the serving hatch, which is good in such a small space. It's not a sit down place, but there is heating and shelter so it's not the end of the world. Drinks menu isn't too extensive, but as I said before it's cheap enough to overlook. I don't want to admit it, because it's so far away from home, but it might just be the best burger I've ever had.

Yelp
Probably one of best burgers to pass my lips, if not the best. I stuck with the classic cheeseburger and it did not disappoint. Ticking all the burger boxes; solid, juicy and flavourful patty, good quality soft bread, cheese melted just enough, topped with pickles and onions. Wish I was eating one right now. This little burger kiosk located essentially on a median strip at the intersection of a busy road, serves burgers, beers, and chips two ways. Arrive early to get a seat, it's popular. It's a slightly dodge location, but that adds to the charm... Maybe.

Yelp
What could possibly be the best reward after running the Berlin Marathon? BURGERMEISTER of course!!! I always liked it while I was living in Berlin, it tasted even better this time. You have to queue a bit but it's worth it. Burgers are delicious (and cheap!!), fries with cheese are a killer and the atmosphere under U-schlesisches tor is cool! Definitely a must do in Berlin, no matter what time of the day!

Yelp
Possibly the best burger I've had in years. Was keeping my expectations low as the kitchen is, after all, operating out of a public bathroom--but whatever it lacks in initial appeal, it makes up for in taste. The chili cheese burger was char-grilled to perfection with a generous helping of mayo and spicy sauce. Loved the jalapeños and pickles in there as well, and it made for a great meal to have outside. There is very little seating, however, and it consisted of poles rather than chairs--so of you are looking for a more comfortable dining experience, this might not be the place. Excellent for a quick bite before heading out for sightseeing--or for the night.

Yelp
A perfect midnight snack. Good juicy burger that isn't too greasy. The lines are pretty long, but worth the wait. Really reminds me of In-n-out with the portion sizes and venue. You really can't miss this place because it's located on an island, and they're a always a huge crowd of people.

Yelp
Burger fun at midnight in Berlin. yes. You need it. I need it. After drinks come here and recover. So popular at night. Don't be dissuaded by the fact it was a fin-de-siecle toilet. OK, maybe not that old, but it was a toilet at one time. Anyway, it is awesome.

Yelp
This is unbelievably good drunk food with unbelievably good beer. Can I eat this fifty more times in one night? Just bury me in fries and delicious grilled beef.
