Fantastic place for freshly made burgers and fries. Next time I definitely will try the shakes. The food was very delicious, and the service was very friendly where the owner, Kory, says your name and chats you up. He made me feel at ease while ordering and was very welcoming at this establishment. Honestly looking at the menu did give me some concerns about how expensive the burgers would be. However, it turned out very reasonable. For 2 single patty cheeseburgers with lettuce and tomatoes, large fries, onion rings, a small order of sweet tots, 2 lemonades, and a Sprite can, can out to $41. That was plenty of food and very delicious. The wait for the food was a bit long but it was made to order and it beings my first time there, I like to see how a business operates. A pro tip from Kory is to use their app to order ahead and just pick up. Scan the QR code or find their app, BSF, in the app store. The burgers are all made medium rare unless specifically said otherwise. So do understand how you want your burger cooked so that you can relay it to others and not be surprised when you get your burger. The sweet tots are made from sweet potatoes and lightly salted. There are 2 locations, one is in Greenwich CT and the other is in Darien CT. Cash and credit are both accepted. No public bathrooms. Bench seating only inside. Street parking is available but very limited spaces. 03/2025

I will be returning for their delicious burgers and fresh ingredients. The prices are worth the delicious food you get. The fries were tasty. The menu and ordering process was simple. My only complaint is the seating layout, as I am forced to look at the wall as I eat and don't really get to look out the window or even face the people I am with. Otherwise, a great spot for a juicy burger.

We ordered BS&F for delivery and received notice that food would be delivered in 45 min . Thirty minutes later received a call directly from the restaurant saying that our food was ready but there third party delivery company didn’t have any drivers and that our order would be delivered way past the original time… So Kory met me in town personally to drop off the food so that my family wouldn’t have to wait so long to eat!!! Thank you ! You guys are the best ! They are incredible and we are so grateful!

Hands down one of my favorite burgers of all time. I do double cheeseburgers, and if I'm really going for it I'll add chili and or bacon. Not many people know but their chicken sandwiches are also phenomenal. Lastly their coffee milkshakes are perfect to balance out the salt.

Decent burger, basic nuggets and good sweet potato tots. The burger is on toasted bread so it's a different feel in your hands and month, but the taste is definitely there. The biggest problem is that it's an expensive burger and they nickel and some you for everything, like lettuce or tomato. The nuggets are a definite pass. The sweet potato tots were poppable and disappeared very quickly.

Delicious burger and fried chicken sandwich. The spicy sauce for the chicken sandwich was very good too. Everything was freshly made, fries were thick and crispy. Customer service was very good and the prices were pocket friendly. Definitely will come again when I’m in the area.

Amazing burgers / sandwiches. My son and I accidentally found this place ... Burger, sandwich and fries were so good. The service / local business attitude is just stellar and honestly who wouldn’t want to great food made and served by happy people ? We also ordered the chocolate malt and it’s one of the best I have had (malty, not super sweet and great texture). Easily one of the best local burger joints. HIDDEN GEM ... we are going to be regulars for sure.

This is my favorite burger spot!!! The food is always hot and delicious! The cheese sauce is unlike any other cheese sauces I've had! I come here on hangover days, quick lunch, cheat day you name it! The staff is so nice ! Never a miss!

There are a ton a great reviews here. Mine was a great review as well, but, I'll comment on the friendliness & great service; even for a "joint" such as this. We went there based on a recommendation from "the locals". Kinda a "dive bar" feel, which is perfect for us. The store is small, but, clean, & we were greeted & engaged in chit-chat right away. We ordered a double burger, with bacon & lettuce. (which was a lot, even for my college-athlete son.) We were told to order with "what we want/ not what we don't), which was kinda like that Seinfeld episode , "The Soup Nazi". But, we appreciated the fun way the owner explained the menu. I ordered the grilled cheese, with pickles & tomato. I don't know how they did it: the sandwich was warm & gooey, but, the pickles & tomato were cold & crispy. It was awesome ! Also as good, the side of Sweet Potato TOTS. While we waited, we were served our drinks, & silverware/napkins set out in front of us. We were both pretty full, but, took the brownie we ordered with us to go. We appreciated the pleasant chit chat, & the service. We like to try new places we haven't been before, but, I'd definitely go back here. We felt like we were old friends by the time we left there, engaging in conversation our whole meal. They know how to create return customers.

Excellent cheeseburger, good quality ingredients freshly cooked and perfectly cooked. French fries were delicious. Burger was like a home cooked burger. Loved that wrapping was biodegradable and or recyclable! I also had a chocolate shake that was excellent. Quality ingredients in all of the items we choose. Excellent!! Terrific service. Hands on, owner present. Efficient quick. Nice neighborhood atmosphere.

"OFF The Beaten Path" Absolutely applies here! You would never know this place exists without someone telling you! Outside looks like your Old small house or apartment, you would never believe this is where to go to get a Great Burger! Tremendous surprise! Burgers, single or double are Excellent! Placed on Toast with Sauteed Onions and Cheese these Burgers are one of the Best I've Ever had! Fries were Delicious also! Definitely a Must Visit!

How about burgers on toast ? The myth is that the owner of BSF ( 302 Delavan Ave Greenwich CT) wanted the focus to be on the burgers. Daily he got fresh high quality meat; Daily he worked his magic into the burgers. He did not want the bun to distract from the deliciousness of the burgers. Hence he served it on toast. Yes Burger, not in a bun, but on toast. The concept of burger on toast has been around for quite a while, hence don't worry, for sure no Chesterton Fence was taken down. A visit to BSF will get you phenomenal burger, equally amazing fries, and outstanding heavenly shakes. There is something basic & innocent about the food here. The reason everything is so endearing is that nothing here has been abused by the exuberance of a culinary school trained chef. The brownie is another gem. You will get spoilt by the brownie at BSF. Years ago they made a salted caramel milk shake (not on the menu). BSF no longer offers Salted Caramel Shake. Cinnamon Shake is currently their best seller, but Mint Chocolate Chip (again not on their menu) is worth going there for.

Exactly what we were craving. Burgers shakes and fries. Doesn't disappoint. Absolutely delicious and the owner and staff made us feel so welcome. A small area to eat in but I can see why the reviews are so great. Highly recommended.

Always very very good- had FCC today and my son the bacon cheeseburger. Did not disappoint ! B&W shake was amazing.

Went for a quick lunch with a friend; halfway through our meal we decided to return again and try other stuff on the menu. Service was good. Pat took our order right and quickly served us our shakes while we waited for our burgers. Ambiance was fine. There were plenty of seats and bar table along the side of the store. It's mostly a call n pickup kind of place. Parking on the street at your own risk. Better to park off Main Street and walk to the store.

My Yelp friends Bill and Alp were in Greenwich the other day and suggested we meet for lunch. I'm not too familiar with the food scene in Greenwich, but after a quick Yelp search I found Burgers Shakes & Fries. The pics looked good and it had a high star average - plus, you know, burgers. That was enough for us to head over and check it out. BSF is a no frills place, it has an unassuming exterior and simple interior. It kind of has a classic, old school aesthetic with wood tones and almost quirky decor. Besides the main counter where you order, there are a few seats inside as well as two tables right outside. It smelled great inside, which definitely augmented the inviting aura. The star of the menu is burgers, though I noticed they have chicken sandwich selections, as well as milkshakes and other desserts. Everything is build-your-own - you can choose from a single, double, or triple patty and add a number of toppings. All burgers are cooked medium unless you specify otherwise, and instead of buns they use buttered toast. I decided to get a single burger with Swiss, lettuce, tomato, raw onion, and ketchup. The burger was great - lots of flavor, fresh toppings, and that bread was a welcome change to a traditional bun. I also got an order of onion rings which were very good - they were crispy, not overly greasy, and maintained their consistency after the first bite. Service was great - everyone was really friendly, and overall I had a great experience at BSF; the ingredients were fresh and the burger was delicious. It's right over the CT border, so even if you're in Westchester it's only a short drive away. I would definitely return for another burger, or perhaps a chicken sandwich and a milkshake.

It was a nice fall Saturday and we were in Greenwich so we wanted to meet our Yelp friend Jason somewhere. Always trusting his exquisite taste, when he suggested BSF we immediately agreed and had a great meal! This is a very small, unassuming place you might just drive right by. We found parking on the street and went inside to order. There are some stools and a counter inside and a couple of tables outside. The people working there are very friendly and service oriented. We ordered and then sat down to wait for our food. Soon we each had our burgers, fries and onion rings. The burgers are served on something that is more like Texas toast and a hamburger bun and it brings a solid, buttery goodness to the party. I had a single with bacon, swiss, lettuce, tomato, mayo and ketchup and it was delicious. The waffle fries were great as well and I think we could have shared a portion because the serving was so generous. You pay after you eat and I was really tempted to order a milkshake or some of their delicious looking homemade cookies, but I resisted. Next time I won't hold back! Great food, terrific friendly service...this place is awesome.

Great service & delivery! We ordered hot dogs, fries and a small side salad (not pictured) and all was delicious and great quality! We placed our order online and you can choose from a selection of options and toppings to customize your meal of choice. I was also informed late that they also have gluten free bun options! I suppose you can request that on notes, but it's not shown on the menu. Ordering online was fast and easy & delivery was quick. The food tasted as if we ordered it at the venue ourselves

Passing through on my way to Boston. This was my roadside stop on the way. First thing I'll say is boy are they really nice here. Being from Philly, I generally expect a little grumpiness at joints. But man they're really nice here. So I didn't expect the burger to be on toast. I had flashbacks to when mom ran out of rolls and you got the burger on Wonder bread. Damn. It works here. I mean it's definitely a step up from Wonder bread. It's quality. And then the meat is just a juice fest. This was hitting different for sure and that's a good thing. My boy said the nuggets looked like Chick Fil A nuggets. That was a good thing too as he enjoyed them. I took one for the "Daddy Tax," and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. My wife loved them calling them better than Chick Fil A. She also loved the fries which are quite fresh. It takes something special to get 5 from me. The high reviews on Yelp brought me here. And it lived up to the hype in a huge way. They're operating on another level.

This place was AMAZING! We're traveling on a road trip across the country and could not have stumbled upon a better place to stop in Connecticut! The service was phenomenal, the food, phenomenal, the whole vibe of this restaurant was where you want to be when you're looking for something low key and just delicious. Thank you for this service!

You place an order and the guy tells you pay when your done. That says a lot. Even better when they call your name out after you have taken a few bites and ask how's the food. Calling the customer by their names seems to be lost. Milkshake comes out first and tastes like how a thick shake should taste. The sweet potato tater tots are a must as a side and leave the condiments out because they don't need them. They are delicious with a light touch of sea salt. I had to have my burger with the works and it didn't disappoint. I feel like you have to because the burger alone was lacking some seasoning and perhaps that's just my taste. Your passing by than this hole in a wall burger joint is a must stop. So simple So good So go ...... slogan.

My girlfriend and I wanted to find a spot that we can hit up for some quick eats on the go. We stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a chance. At first, I said to myself, "the name is so generic. Food probably won't be that great." Boy was I wrong. The burgers were truly phenomenal. I literally almost shed a tear of how good it was. The fries were cooked to perfection. The shake was the icing on the cake! I wondered how such a simple place could have such amazing food! One thing I love about the spot is that they keep it simple! They don't do too much with their food. They take their time and create works of art for their customers. The chefs and other employees are very respectful to their customers. One thing I always look for is customer services, and boy, they passed the test with flying colors. Burger, Shakes, and Fries, thank you for being an awesome lowkey spot for good eats. We will DEFINITELY be back and will be looking forward to the next meal!

We were stuck in traffic driving north, when a bathroom/meal break became exceedingly important. There was no time to do a thorough Yelp search, but more a what's closest to the highway search. Luckily for us, BSF checked that box! And hot diggity was it a win! My husband and I shared a dope cheeseburger, a thing of sweet potato tots, and some homemade chocolate chip cookies. Everything was excellent and the staff was more than lovely. Next time we're in CT, we'll definitely come back!

Consistently hot, fresh and delicious. The customer service is always good and the restaurant is clean and tidy. The Greenwich location is the original and far outperforms the Darien location in both food quality and service.

Best burgers around. Hadn't had one for a few years and had forgotten how truly delicious. What a treat! Just simple and so tasty - juicy, med rare w toasted bread. Onions, tomato, lettuce and mayo.

Cool spot for burgers (on square bread). Was searching for dinner and came across this local place. It hit the spot with burgers, hot dogs, chicken, fries and shakes. Only things is one burger order did not have any of the toppings I asked for and it was written on the paper order. Oh well, still some good food.

Definitely a good mom & pop burger shop. I had the double cooked medium and they nailed the temperature. I SHOULD have looked at the pictures a little closely because that sucker was massive! Had a hard time biting through the whole thing. I loved the grilled sandwich bread versus the burger bun, it was very unique. Also ordered the sweet tots. So I read it as sweet tots, but didn't think much of it considering I've never had sweet tots before. I should have inquired about it since it ACTUALLY was sweet. lol, go figure huh? Anyway, I found out I'm not a fan of sweet tots today. Their ginger ale must be from some artisanal soda place because you could really taste the ginger in it even though I was loaded up on ice. Space was tight, there was no heat on today, but overall I will be back when I'm in the area again.

Definitely stop by here. If not for the exceptional fries, crispy and salty and so freshly cooked, but also for the nice servers who are always there with a smile! Especially for when you order a large fries by yourself to go. I haven't dined in but there is good amount of room if you do. It smells like a burger joint but I don't mind that! Great neighborhood spot!

I haven't written a review in a while but this place was so good I had to say something. The guy behind the counter was super friendly and the burger and onion rings I ordered were fantastic.

Are hamburgers made? Yes, because they're boygers, not girlgers. Never thought I would have enjoyed a little hole in the wall restaurant as much as I enjoy this place. They have a simple menu of burgers, grilled cheese, fries and shakes. Any toppings you want on your burger they have and the staff is very good at making suggestions of what to get on your burger that you will like. The dining experience is nice. Aside from it being a hole in the wall they know what they are doing. All the burgers are made fresh and are served on regular toast, not a burger bun. The burgers are a little on the soggy side sometimes but that is just the grease from the toasted bread and the delicious burger that is put onto. The shakes are also delicious and the flavor selection are outstanding. One tip is that the burgers are big, so I would suggest that you bring your appetite with you when you come here.

Where does one begin? THIS IS THE BEST BURGER JOINT EVER. The owner is super friendly, kind and understanding. He makes sure that customers have a place to sit while he makes the burgers. This place is incredible - amazing service, hospitality and quaint. Can't wait to visit them again after this pandemic!

My husband and I ordered a black and white shake, double burger and salad (with burger). Everything came out fast and hot and was amazing! The quality is better than expected and the flavor is off the charts. 100% will be coming back every time we are in the area!

Great little independent place. Great food, friendly staff and easy to deal with. The serve the burgers on buttered bread, which coupled with slightly greasy burger, may cause some anxiety for the dietary conscious but if that's not your deal, or it's a cheat day..... these burgers are fantastic!!! Unpretentious comfort food from a great place that is local, not a chain. Go there, you won't regret it.

Perfect little hole in the wall! Stools along a bar like table. Three of us ordered burgers with different degrees of doneness and different toppings and they were served perfectly! The fries were crispy, salted perfectly, and hot. Sweet potato tots were crispy and sweet. The onion rings were crisp, hot, and the onions were cooked through beautifully. We loved the shakes! This place is obviously popular with the locals...lots of foot traffic. And, like their slogan says: "so simple, so good,so go "

Juicy burgers on toasted buttered bread. Absolutely delicious! Good balance of bread, burger, and cheese. Chicken nuggets are real pieces of chicken with a slightly seasoned breading. Kid said they were "the best nuggets ever!"

I can't believe it took us this long to try BSF. Picked up after a busy Friday, and was blown away by the flavor! Not only that, it was clean -- very little grease. We will be regularly ordering from here.

Simple, clean, family owned! This is a no frills burger shop with top notch food. It's my new go to place. I got a single with fries and shared with a friend of mine and it was plenty filling. I believe the salads are really good too so it can be a healthy destination as well. Service is very friendly. It can get crowded and there's not much seating but you can always plan around that.

You HAVE to order the sweet potato tater tots and thank me later... we usually get their burgers cooked which are m amazing (we get the lettuce wrap, and is still feels so tasty!). My husband also loves their hot dogs.

My wife and I are from R.I. we frequently took trips to NYC years back before we had a child and would always stop at Burgers Shakes & Fries. It was the best burger around. Still remember the owner being such a hard worker and putting out a great product. Fast forward, we now have a 13 year old and finally introduced him to BSF this past week. He was in heaven saying "best burger I ever had!" It's great to see that this place is still killing it. So many places have gone downhill over the years, not this place. The owner was still there 20 years later putting work in. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself, you won't regret it.

Excellent build your own burger. You can get a single, double, or veggie. A single is more than enough, it's huge. Fries and onion rings were really good too. We got chocolate milk shakes which were thick and creamy. Prices are reasonable if you are visiting and looking for something quick and more affordable. I would def. come back here. Service was upbeat and welcoming.

Great food. Best chili cheese dogs around. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because every time I order a burger they consistently undercook it. I ask for medium and it's rare. I ask for medium well, and it's rare. But like I said the food is still excellent. Great fries, good shakes, great chili dogs and super fresh ingredients on the burgers, just remember to ask for it overcooked a little.

I just realized that I have visited BSF multiple times and have not yet written a review yet!! Definitely one of the best burger places there is out there! I'm a classic burger kind of person... beef patty with all the "little fixins" (tomato, lettuce, pickles, onions and hot peppers)... the crunch of the fresh veggies are so refreshing on this burger - it's amazing! Love that they also serve it on toast instead of a bun! Onion rings and sweet potato tots are also really good! Milkshakes are very thick and yummy, but definitely too much to have with the burger too! It needs to be shared!

Have you ever sworn because you're so happy? We were on our way to Cape Cod and needed lunch. This was the closest - thank god. First off, super nice people. That pales in comparison to their food. Have you ever been to a place where every damn thing is the best? Grilled chicken sandwich - amazing. The double burger - my husband said it's the best burger he's ever had. The shakes were sublime. And if you leave without the onion rings - you're stupid. The waffle and regular fries were damn good too. And the nuggets - perfection. I'm super critical and have eaten all over the world. This place is the real thing. I'd make a trip from NJ just to go here.

Burgers Shakes & Fries never fails. On a time crunch and called my order in. Placed an order for a Chicken Sandwich and a Strawberry Shake and was told my order be ready in about 15 minutes. BSF is a quaint Burger joint. Menu items are unique. Usually get their chicken sandwich that's always prepared well. Chicken cutlet is not too thick and just perfect. Now this is where things change a bit...chicken is sandwiched between 2 buttery bread slices. Parking is a bit fuzzy, but you'll be ok. All in all, BSF never misses. By the way, staff is great.

Easily one of THE best burger in the northeast. Super friendly owner, yummy buttered toast as the bun and fresh toppings on a 1/4 pound of beef make for a perfect burger. Oh and the fries are fresh and perfectly fine too.

Myself and my hubby drove from NYC to Vermont and felt rather hungry. Since hubby craved a good burger I looked up this place on Yelp and oh my, bingo! What an awesome little burger place. Nothing fancy about it but just what we needed. We ordered burger with avocado and bacon, sweet chilli fries- watch out even small portion is big! burger with pickles, salad tomato and cheese plus sweet potato tots.Oh and chocolate shake. Everything was just delicious and we literally left stuffed! Couldn't finish the fries in fact.... service was also very friendly and good. If we ever happen to be in the area again we will be back! Yum!

Great burger place. I had the double burger with Swiss cheese and the standard ingredients along with a cinnamon milk shake. Both were delicious. The staff is efficient and professional, service is fast but everything is cooked after you order. Must try!

Our kind of hole-in-the wall. Friendly service and a great burger! I got mine without bread and received it on a bed of lettuce with a juicy ripe tomato slice, onions, and mayo. Hubby got the classic on buttered toast. Sweet Tots? Yes, get them. :)
